Señor, tú siempre me haces justicia cuando te presento mis quejas. Deja que te presente ahora una más: ¿Por qué prosperan tanto los malvados? ¿Por qué son tan felices los traidores?
JUSTO eres tú, oh Jehová, aunque yo contigo dispute: hablaré empero juicios contigo. ¿Por qué es prosperado el camino de los impíos, y tienen bien todos los que se portan deslealmente?
Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?
You are righteous, LORD, when I contend with you; yet I would like to plead a case with you. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are they all at ease who deal very treacherously?
Tú los plantas, ellos agarran suelo y sus iniciativas prosperan. Sus ganancias se multiplican y ellos se enriquecen. Dicen: «¡Gracias a Dios!», pero en su corazón no te lo atribuyen a ti.
Plantástelos, y echaron raíces; progresaron, é hicieron fruto; cercano estás tú en sus bocas, mas lejos de sus riñones.
Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins.
You have planted them. Yes, they have taken root. They grow. Yes, they produce fruit. You are near in their mouth, and far from their heart.
En cuanto a mí respecta, tú conoces mi corazón, bien sabes cuánto anhelo serte fiel. ¡Sin embargo, soy pobre, oh Señor! ¡Señor, llévalos arrastrados como ovejas silenciosas al matadero! ¡Júzgalos, oh Dios!
Tú empero, oh Jehová, me conoces; vísteme, y probaste mi corazón para contigo: arráncalos como á ovejas para el degolladero, y señálalos para el día de la matanza.
But thou, O LORD, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

¿Hasta cuando tendrá esta tierra tuya que soportar la conducta de ellos? ¡Aun la hierba del campo tiene que pagar las consecuencias por las perversidades que ellos cometen! Las bestias y aves silvestres han huido, dejando desierta la tierra. Sin embargo, el pueblo dice: «Dios no nos llevará a juicio. Estamos completamente a salvo».
¿Hasta cuándo estará desierta la tierra, y marchita la hierba de todo el campo? Por la maldad de los que en ella moran, faltaron los ganados, y las aves; porque dijeron: No verá él nuestras postrimerías.
How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our last end.
How long will the land mourn, and the herbs of the whole country wither? Because of the wickedness of those who dwell therein, the animals and birds are consumed; because they said, “He won’t see our latter end.”
El Señor me respondió: Si el competir en la carrera con simples hombres —los de Anatot— te ha cansado, ¿cómo vas a competir contra caballos, contra el rey, su corte y todos sus malvados sacerdotes? Si en tierra pareja tropiezas y caes, ¿qué harás en las selvas del río Jordán?
Si corriste con los de á pie, y te cansaron, ¿cómo contenderás con los caballos? Y si en la tierra de paz estabas quieto, ¿cómo harás en la hinchazón del Jordán?
If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?
“If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? Though in a land of peace you are secure, yet how will you do in the pride of the Jordan?
Y es que tu prueba será tan dura que hasta tus hermanos, tu propia familia, se pondrán en tu contra. ¡No confíes en ellos por más amables que sean las palabras que te dirijan!
Porque aun tus hermanos y la casa de tu padre, aun ellos se levantaron contra ti, aun ellos dieron voces en pos de ti. No los creas, cuando bien te hablaren.
For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.
For even your brothers, and the house of your father, even they have dealt treacherously with you! Even they have cried aloud after you! Don’t believe them, though they speak beautiful words to you.
Luego el Señor dijo: He abandonado a mi pueblo, mi propiedad; en manos de sus enemigos he entregado lo que más amo.
He dejado mi casa, desamparé mi heredad, entregado he lo que amaba mi alma en manos de sus enemigos.
I have forsaken mine house, I have left mine heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.
“I have forsaken my house. I have cast off my heritage. I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.
Es que mi pueblo ha rugido en mi contra como león del bosque, y entonces los he tratado como si no los amara.
Fué para mí mi heredad como león en breña: contra mí dió su voz; por tanto la aborrecí.
Mine heritage is unto me as a lion in the forest; it crieth out against me: therefore have I hated it.
My heritage has become to me as a lion in the forest. She has uttered her voice against me. Therefore I have hated her.
Mi pueblo se ha convertido en una presa deseada, de tal manera que sobre él se cierne una multitud de buitres y bestias salvajes que quieren devorarlo.
¿Esme mi heredad ave de muchos colores? ¿no están contra ella aves en derredor? Venid, reuníos, vosotras todas las bestias del campo, venid á devorarla.
Mine heritage is unto me as a speckled bird, the birds round about are against her; come ye, assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour.
Is my heritage to me as a speckled bird of prey? Are the birds of prey against her all around? Go, assemble all the animals of the field. Bring them to devour.
Muchos gobernantes extranjeros han asolado a mi pueblo como si fuera un viñedo maltratado, pisoteando las vides y transformando su belleza en estéril desierto.
Muchos pastores han destruído mi viña, hollaron mi heredad, tornaron en desierto y soledad mi heredad preciosa.
Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.
Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard. They have trodden my portion under foot. They have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.
Lo han desolado; escucho sus amargos lamentos. Toda la tierra de Israel está desolada y nadie se duele por ello.
Fué puesta en asolamiento, y lloró sobre mí, asolada: fué asolada toda la tierra, porque no hubo hombre que mirase.
They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart.
They have made it a desolation. It mourns to me, being desolate. The whole land is made desolate, because no one cares.
Ejércitos destructores saquean la tierra. El Señor se vale de ellos como si fueran una espada y con ella causa gran destrozo. ¡No hay donde ocultarse de la destrucción; nadie escapará!
Sobre todos los lugares altos del desierto vinieron disipadores: porque la espada de Jehová devorará desde el un extremo de la tierra hasta el otro extremo: no habrá paz para ninguna carne.
The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.
Destroyers have come on all the bare heights in the wilderness; for the sword of the LORD devours from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land. No flesh has peace.
Mi pueblo sembró trigo y cosechó espinos; trabajaron afanosamente, pero sin provecho. Tendrán cosecha tan raquítica que se avergonzarán de ella, y es que sobre ellos pesa la tremenda cólera del Señor.
Sembraron trigo, y segarán espinas; tuvieron la heredad, mas no aprovecharon nada: se avergonzarán de vuestros frutos, á causa de la ardiente ira de Jehová.
They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
They have sown wheat, and have reaped thorns. They have exhausted themselves, and profit nothing. You will be ashamed of your fruits, because of the LORD’s fierce anger.”
Y ahora el Señor dice así a las naciones perversas, las que rodean la tierra que Dios dio a su pueblo Israel: ¡Miren, de su tierra los echaré así como Judá será echada de la suya!
Así dijo Jehová contra todos mis malos vecinos, que tocan la heredad que hice poseer á mi pueblo Israel: He aquí que yo los arrancaré de su tierra, y arrancaré de en medio de ellos la casa de Judá.
Thus saith the LORD against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.
The LORD says, “Concerning all my evil neighbors, who touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: Behold, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.
Pero después volveré y tendré compasión de todos ellos, y los traeré de regreso a su tierra, cada uno a su provincia de origen, la que le pertenece.
Y será que, después que los hubiere arrancado, tornaré y tendré misericordia de ellos, y harélos volver cada uno á su heredad, y cada cual á su tierra.
And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.
It will happen that after I have plucked them up, I will return and have compassion on them. I will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.
Y si estas naciones paganas aprenden pronto las costumbres de mi pueblo y me tienen por Dios suyo en vez de Baal, cuyo culto enseñaron ellos a mi pueblo, entonces serán fuertes en medio de mi pueblo.
Y será que, si cuidadosamente aprendieren los caminos de mi pueblo, para jurar en mi nombre, diciendo, Vive Jehová, así como enseñaron á mi pueblo á jurar por Baal; ellos serán prosperados en medio de mi pueblo.
And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The LORD liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people.
It will happen, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, ‘As the LORD lives;’ even as they taught my people to swear by Baal, then they will be built up in the middle of my people.
Pero toda nación que se niegue a obedecerme será nuevamente expulsada y aniquilada, dice el Señor.
Mas si no oyeren, arrancaré á la tal gente, sacándola de raíz, y destruyendo, dice Jehová.
But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the LORD.
But if they will not hear, then I will pluck up that nation, plucking up and destroying it,” says the LORD.
