Justo eres Tú, oh Yavé, para que yo contienda contigo. Sin embargo, defenderé mi causa ante Ti: ¿Por qué prospera el camino de los perversos, y los traidores viven en paz?
JUSTO eres tú, oh Jehová, aunque yo contigo dispute: hablaré empero juicios contigo. ¿Por qué es prosperado el camino de los impíos, y tienen bien todos los que se portan deslealmente?
Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?
You are righteous, LORD, when I contend with you; yet I would like to plead a case with you. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are they all at ease who deal very treacherously?
Los plantas y echan raíces. Crecen y dan fruto. Cercano estás de sus bocas, pero lejos de su pensamiento.
Plantástelos, y echaron raíces; progresaron, é hicieron fruto; cercano estás tú en sus bocas, mas lejos de sus riñones.
Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins.
You have planted them. Yes, they have taken root. They grow. Yes, they produce fruit. You are near in their mouth, and far from their heart.
Pero Tú, oh Yavé, Tú me conoces. Me miras y pruebas mi corazón, cómo es hacia Ti. Sepáralos como a ovejas para el matadero. Apártalos para el día de la matanza.
Tú empero, oh Jehová, me conoces; vísteme, y probaste mi corazón para contigo: arráncalos como á ovejas para el degolladero, y señálalos para el día de la matanza.
But thou, O LORD, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

¿Hasta cuándo lamenta la tierra y se marchita la hierba de todo el campo? Por la perversidad de los que la habitan perecieron los animales y las aves. Porque dicen: Él no verá nuestro último fin.
¿Hasta cuándo estará desierta la tierra, y marchita la hierba de todo el campo? Por la maldad de los que en ella moran, faltaron los ganados, y las aves; porque dijeron: No verá él nuestras postrimerías.
How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our last end.
How long will the land mourn, and the herbs of the whole country wither? Because of the wickedness of those who dwell therein, the animals and birds are consumed; because they said, “He won’t see our latter end.”
Respuesta de Yavé: Si te cansaste al correr con la infantería, ¿cómo puedes competir con la caballería? Si caes en una tierra de paz, entonces ¿qué harás en la selva del Jordán?
Si corriste con los de á pie, y te cansaron, ¿cómo contenderás con los caballos? Y si en la tierra de paz estabas quieto, ¿cómo harás en la hinchazón del Jordán?
If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?
“If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? Though in a land of peace you are secure, yet how will you do in the pride of the Jordan?
Porque aun tus hermanos y la casa de tu padre te traicionaron. Aun ellos gritan con voz fuerte detrás de ti. No les creas aunque te digan cosas agradables.
Porque aun tus hermanos y la casa de tu padre, aun ellos se levantaron contra ti, aun ellos dieron voces en pos de ti. No los creas, cuando bien te hablaren.
For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.
For even your brothers, and the house of your father, even they have dealt treacherously with you! Even they have cried aloud after you! Don’t believe them, though they speak beautiful words to you.

Porque mi heredad fue para mí como león en la selva. Dio su rugido contra mí. Por tanto la aborrecí.

Mine heritage is unto me as a lion in the forest; it crieth out against me: therefore have I hated it.

¿Mi heredad es para mí como un ave de rapiña de muchos colores? ¿No hay aves de rapiña contra ella y alrededor de ella? Vengan, reúnanse todas las fieras del campo. Vengan a tragarla.
¿Esme mi heredad ave de muchos colores? ¿no están contra ella aves en derredor? Venid, reuníos, vosotras todas las bestias del campo, venid á devorarla.
Mine heritage is unto me as a speckled bird, the birds round about are against her; come ye, assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour.
Is my heritage to me as a speckled bird of prey? Are the birds of prey against her all around? Go, assemble all the animals of the field. Bring them to devour.
Muchos pastores destruyeron mi viña. Pisotearon mi heredad. Convirtieron mi agradable heredad en un desierto desolado.

La convirtieron en una desolación, y llora sobre mí desolada. Toda la tierra está desolada porque no reflexiona algún hombre.
Fué puesta en asolamiento, y lloró sobre mí, asolada: fué asolada toda la tierra, porque no hubo hombre que mirase.
They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart.

Llegaron los destructores sobre todas las alturas del desierto, porque la espada de Yavé devora, desde un extremo de la tierra hasta el otro. Para nadie hay paz.
Sobre todos los lugares altos del desierto vinieron disipadores: porque la espada de Jehová devorará desde el un extremo de la tierra hasta el otro extremo: no habrá paz para ninguna carne.
The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.

Sembraron trigo y cosecharon espinas. Tuvieron la posesión, pero nada les aprovechó. Son avergonzados en sus cosechas a causa del ardor de la ira de Yavé.
Sembraron trigo, y segarán espinas; tuvieron la heredad, mas no aprovecharon nada: se avergonzarán de vuestros frutos, á causa de la ardiente ira de Jehová.
They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the LORD.

Con respecto a todos mis perversos vecinos que atacan la heredad con la cual doté a mi pueblo Israel, Yavé dice: Ciertamente los arrancaré de su tierra. Arrancaré a la Casa de Judá de en medio de ellos.
Así dijo Jehová contra todos mis malos vecinos, que tocan la heredad que hice poseer á mi pueblo Israel: He aquí que yo los arrancaré de su tierra, y arrancaré de en medio de ellos la casa de Judá.
Thus saith the LORD against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.
The LORD says, “Concerning all my evil neighbors, who touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: Behold, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.
Pero después que los arranque, volveré a tener compasión de ellos. Los devolveré cada uno a su heredad y cada cual a su tierra.
Y será que, después que los hubiere arrancado, tornaré y tendré misericordia de ellos, y harélos volver cada uno á su heredad, y cada cual á su tierra.
And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.

Sucederá que si en verdad quieren aprender los caminos de mi pueblo para invocar mi Nombre y decir: Vive Yavé, así como enseñaron a mi pueblo a jurar por baal, ellos serán establecidos en medio de mi pueblo.
Y será que, si cuidadosamente aprendieren los caminos de mi pueblo, para jurar en mi nombre, diciendo, Vive Jehová, así como enseñaron á mi pueblo á jurar por Baal; ellos serán prosperados en medio de mi pueblo.
And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The LORD liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people.
It will happen, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, ‘As the LORD lives;’ even as they taught my people to swear by Baal, then they will be built up in the middle of my people.
Pero si no escuchan, arrancaré a esa nación. La sacaré de raíz y la destruiré, dice Yavé.
Mas si no oyeren, arrancaré á la tal gente, sacándola de raíz, y destruyendo, dice Jehová.
But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the LORD.
But if they will not hear, then I will pluck up that nation, plucking up and destroying it,” says the LORD.
