1O SENHOR me disse: “Vá e compre para você um cinto de linho, coloque-o na cintura e não o coloque na água.”
2Então comprei um cinto, de acordo com a palavra do SENHOR, e o coloquei na cintura.
3A palavra do SENHOR veio a mim pela segunda vez, dizendo:
4“Pegue o cinto que você comprou, que está na sua cintura, levante-se, vá ao Eufrates e esconda-o ali numa fenda da rocha.”
5Então eu fui e o escondi junto ao Eufrates, como o SENHOR me ordenou.
6Depois de muitos dias, o SENHOR me disse: “Levante-se, vá ao Eufrates e pegue de lá o cinto que eu lhe ordenei que escondesse ali.”
7Então fui ao Eufrates, cavei e peguei o cinto do lugar onde o havia escondido; e eis que o cinto estava arruinado. Não servia para nada.
8Então a palavra do SENHOR veio a mim, dizendo:
9“Assim diz o SENHOR: 'Desta maneira arruinarei o orgulho de Judá e o grande orgulho de Jerusalém.
10Este povo mau, que se recusa a ouvir as minhas palavras, que anda na teimosia do seu coração, e que foi atrás de outros deuses para servi-los e adorá-los, será como este cinto, que não serve para nada.
11Pois, assim como o cinto se apega à cintura de um homem, assim eu fiz com que toda a casa de Israel e toda a casa de Judá se apegassem a mim', diz o SENHOR; 'para que fossem para mim um povo, um nome, um louvor e uma glória; mas eles não quiseram ouvir.'
12“Portanto, você lhes falará esta palavra: 'Assim diz o SENHOR, o Deus de Israel: “Todo jarro deve ser cheio de vinho.”' Eles dirão a você: 'Acaso não sabemos muito bem que todo jarro deve ser cheio de vinho?'
13Então diga-lhes: 'Assim diz o SENHOR: “Eis que encherei de embriaguez todos os habitantes desta terra, até mesmo os reis que se assentam no trono de Davi, os sacerdotes, os profetas e todos os habitantes de Jerusalém.
14Eu os despedaçarei uns contra os outros, até mesmo os pais e os filhos juntos”, diz o SENHOR: “Não terei pena, nem pouparei, nem terei compaixão, a ponto de deixar de destruí-los.”'”
15Ouçam e prestem atenção. Não sejam orgulhosos, pois o SENHOR falou.
16Deem glória ao SENHOR, seu Deus, antes que ele traga as trevas, e antes que os seus pés tropecem nos montes escuros, e, enquanto vocês procuram a luz, ele a transforme na sombra da morte, e a converta em densa escuridão.
17Mas, se vocês não ouvirem isso, a minha alma chorará em segredo por causa do orgulho de vocês. O meu olho chorará amargamente, e derramará lágrimas, porque o rebanho do SENHOR foi levado cativo.
18Diga ao rei e à rainha-mãe: “Humilhem-se. Sentem-se, pois as suas coroas caíram, sim, a coroa da sua glória.”
19As cidades do Sul estão fechadas, e não há ninguém para abri-las. Judá é levado cativo: todos eles. Eles são totalmente levados cativos.
20Levante os olhos, e veja aqueles que vêm do norte. Onde está o rebanho que lhe foi dado, o seu lindo rebanho?
21O que você dirá quando ele colocar como chefes sobre você aqueles que você mesma ensinou a serem seus amigos? Acaso as dores não tomarão conta de você, como as de uma mulher em trabalho de parto?
22Se você disser no seu coração: “Por que estas coisas vieram sobre mim?” É por causa da grandeza da sua iniquidade que as suas saias foram descobertas, e os seus calcanhares sofrem violência.
23Pode o etíope mudar a sua pele, ou o leopardo as suas manchas? Então vocês também poderiam fazer o bem, vocês que estão acostumados a fazer o mal.
24“Portanto, eu os espalharei como o restolho que é levado pelo vento do deserto.
25Esta é a sua sorte, a porção medida a você por mim”, diz o SENHOR, “porque você se esqueceu de mim, e confiou na falsidade.”
26Portanto, eu também levantarei as suas saias sobre o seu rosto, e a sua vergonha aparecerá.
27Eu vi as suas abominações, até mesmo os seus adultérios e os seus relinchos, a lascívia da sua prostituição, sobre as colinas no campo. Ai de você, Jerusalém! Você não será purificada. Até quando ainda será assim?”

1ASÍ me dijo Jehová: Ve, y cómprate un cinto de lino, y cíñelo sobre tus lomos, y no lo meterás en agua.
2Y compré el cinto conforme á la palabra de Jehová, y púselo sobre mis lomos.
3Y fué á mí segunda vez palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
4Toma el cinto que compraste, que está sobre tus lomos, y levántate, y ve al Eufrates, y escóndelo allá en la concavidad de una peña.
5Fuí pues, y escondílo junto al Eufrates, como Jehová me mandó.
6Y sucedió que al cabo de muchos días me dijo Jehová: Levántate, y ve al Eufrates, y toma de allí el cinto que te mandé escondieses allá.
7Entonces fuí al Eufrates, y cavé, y tomé el cinto del lugar donde lo había escondido; y he aquí que el cinto se había podrido; para ninguna cosa era bueno.
8Y fué á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
9Así ha dicho Jehová: Así haré podrir la soberbia de Judá, y la mucha soberbia de Jerusalem,
10A este pueblo malo, que no quieren oir mis palabras, que andan en las imaginaciones de su corazón, y se fueron en pos de dioses ajenos para servirles, y para encorvarse á ellos; y vendrá á ser como este cinto, que para ninguna cosa es bueno.
11Porque como el cinto se junta á los lomos del hombre, así hice juntar á mí toda la casa de Israel y toda la casa de Judá, dice Jehová, para que me fuesen por pueblo y por fama, y por alabanza y por honra: empero no escucharon.
12Les dirás pues esta palabra: Así ha dicho Jehová, Dios de Israel: Henchiráse de vino todo odre. Y ellos te dirán: ¿No sabemos que todo odre se henchirá de vino?
13Entonces les has de decir: Así ha dicho Jehová: He aquí que yo lleno de embriaguez todos los moradores de esta tierra, y á los reyes de la estirpe de David que se sientan sobre su trono, y á los sacerdotes y profetas, y á todos los moradores de Jerusalem;
14Y quebrantarélos el uno con el otro, los padres con los hijos juntamente, dice Jehová: no perdonaré, ni tendré piedad ni misericordia, para no destruirlos.
15Escuchad y oid; no os elevéis: pues Jehová ha hablado.
16Dad gloria á Jehová Dios vuestro, antes que haga venir tinieblas, y antes que vuestros pies tropiecen en montes de oscuridad, y esperéis luz, y os la torne sombra de muerte y tinieblas.
17Mas si no oyereis esto, en secreto llorará mi alma á causa de vuestra soberbia; y llorando amargamente, se desharán mis ojos en lágrimas, porque el rebaño de Jehová fué cautivo.
18Di al rey y á la reina: Humillaos, sentaos en tierra; porque la corona de vuestra gloria bajó de vuestras cabezas.
19Las ciudades del mediodía fueron cerradas, y no hubo quien las abriese: toda Judá fué trasportada, trasportada fué toda ella.
20Alzad vuestros ojos, y ved los que vienen del aquilón: ¿dónde está el rebaño que te fué dado, la grey de tu gloria?
21¿Qué dirás cuando te visitará? porque tú los enseñaste á ser príncipes y cabeza sobre ti. ¿No te tomarán dolores como á mujer que pare?
22Cuando dijeres en tu corazón: ¿Por qué me ha sobrevenido esto? Por la enormidad de tu maldad fueron descubiertas tus faldas, fueron desnudos tus calcañares.
23¿Mudará el negro su pellejo, y el leopardo sus manchas? Así también podréis vosotros hacer bien, estando habituados á hacer mal.
24Por tanto yo los esparciré, como tamo que pasa, al viento del desierto.
25Esta es tu suerte, la porción de tus medidas de parte mía, dice Jehová; porque te olvidaste de mí, y confiaste en la mentira.
26Yo pues descubriré también tus faldas delante de tu cara, y se manifestará tu ignominia.
27Tus adulterios, tus relinchos, la maldad de tu fornicación sobre los collados: en el mismo campo vi tus abominaciones. ¡Ay de ti, Jerusalem! ¿No serás al cabo limpia? ¿hasta cuándo todavía?
King James Version
1Thus saith the LORD unto me, Go and get thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water.
2So I got a girdle according to the word of the LORD, and put it on my loins.
3And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying,
4Take the girdle that thou hast got, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.
5So I went, and hid it by Euphrates, as the LORD commanded me.
6And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.
7Then I went to Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing.
8Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
9Thus saith the LORD, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.
10This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.
11For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.
12Therefore thou shalt speak unto them this word; Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and they shall say unto thee, Do we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled with wine?
13Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon David’s throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
14And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the LORD: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.
15Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken.
16Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.
17But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD’s flock is carried away captive.
18Say unto the king and to the queen, Humble yourselves, sit down: for your principalities shall come down, even the crown of your glory.
19The cities of the south shall be shut up, and none shall open them: Judah shall be carried away captive all of it, it shall be wholly carried away captive.
20Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north: where is the flock that was given thee, thy beautiful flock?
21What wilt thou say when he shall punish thee? for thou hast taught them to be captains, and as chief over thee: shall not sorrows take thee, as a woman in travail?
22And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered, and thy heels made bare.
23Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.
24Therefore will I scatter them as the stubble that passeth away by the wind of the wilderness.
25This is thy lot, the portion of thy measures from me, saith the LORD; because thou hast forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.
26Therefore will I discover thy skirts upon thy face, that thy shame may appear.
27I have seen thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom, and thine abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem! wilt thou not be made clean? when shall it once be?
World English Bible
1The LORD said to me, “Go, and buy yourself a linen belt, and put it on your waist, and don’t put it in water.”
2So I bought a belt according to the LORD’s word, and put it on my waist.
3The LORD’s word came to me the second time, saying,
4“Take the belt that you have bought, which is on your waist, and arise, go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a cleft of the rock.”
5So I went and hid it by the Euphrates, as the LORD commanded me.
6After many days, the LORD said to me, “Arise, go to the Euphrates, and take the belt from there, which I commanded you to hide there.”
7Then I went to the Euphrates, and dug, and took the belt from the place where I had hidden it; and behold, the belt was ruined. It was profitable for nothing.
8Then the LORD’s word came to me, saying,
9“The LORD says, ‘In this way I will ruin the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.
10This evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who walk in the stubbornness of their heart, and have gone after other gods to serve them and to worship them, will even be as this belt, which is profitable for nothing.
11For as the belt clings to the waist of a man, so I have caused the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah to cling to me,’ says the LORD; ‘that they may be to me for a people, for a name, for praise, and for glory; but they would not hear.’
12“Therefore you shall speak to them this word: ‘The LORD, the God of Israel says, “Every container should be filled with wine.”’ They will tell you, ‘Do we not certainly know that every container should be filled with wine?’
13Then tell them, ‘The LORD says, “Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings who sit on David’s throne, the priests, the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
14I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together,” says the LORD: “I will not pity, spare, or have compassion, that I should not destroy them.”’”
15Hear, and give ear. Don’t be proud, for the LORD has spoken.
16Give glory to the LORD your God, before he causes darkness, and before your feet stumble on the dark mountains, and while you look for light, he turns it into the shadow of death, and makes it deep darkness.
17But if you will not hear it, my soul will weep in secret for your pride. My eye will weep bitterly, and run down with tears, because the LORD’s flock has been taken captive.

19The cities of the South are shut up, and there is no one to open them. Judah is carried away captive: all of them. They are wholly carried away captive.

21What will you say when he sets over you as head those whom you have yourself taught to be friends to you? Won’t sorrows take hold of you, as of a woman in travail?
22If you say in your heart, “Why have these things come on me?” Your skirts are uncovered because of the greatness of your iniquity, and your heels suffer violence.

25This is your lot, the portion measured to you from me,” says the LORD, “because you have forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.”

27I have seen your abominations, even your adulteries and your neighing, the lewdness of your prostitution, on the hills in the field. Woe to you, Jerusalem! You will not be made clean. How long will it yet be?”
