«¡Oh Señor!», clamará el pueblo, «¿has rechazado por completo a Judá? ¿Aborreces a Jerusalén? ¿Tendremos de nuevo paz cuando pase el castigo? Nosotros pensábamos: Ahora por fin el Señor nos sanará y vendará nuestras heridas. Pero la paz no llegó y sólo reinan por todos lados la desesperación y el terror.
¿Has desechado enteramente á Judá? ¿ha aborrecido tu alma á Sión? ¿Por qué nos hiciste herir sin que nos quede cura? Esperamos paz, y no hubo bien; tiempo de cura, y he aquí turbación.
Hast thou utterly rejected Judah? hath thy soul lothed Zion? why hast thou smitten us, and there is no healing for us? we looked for peace, and there is no good; and for the time of healing, and behold trouble!
