Jeremías 15

Entonces me dijo el Señor: Aun cuando Moisés y Samuel se me pusiesen delante, no se doblaría mi alma a favor de este pueblo; arrójalos de mi presencia, y vayan fuera.

Y DÍJOME Jehová: Si Moisés y Samuel se pusieran delante de mí, mi voluntad no será con este pueblo: échalos de delante de mí, y salgan.

Then said the LORD unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.

Then the LORD said to me, “Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind would not turn toward this people. Cast them out of my sight, and let them go out!

Que si te dicen: ¿A dónde iremos?, les responderás: Esto dice el Señor: El que está destinado a morir de peste, vaya a morir; el que a perecer al filo de la espada, a la espada; el que de hambre, muera de hambre; el que está destinado a ser esclavo, vaya al cautiverio.

Y será que si te preguntaren: ¿A dónde saldremos? les dirás: Así ha dicho Jehová: El que á muerte, á muerte; y el que á cuchillo, á cuchillo; y el que á hambre, á hambre; y el que á cautividad, á cautividad.

And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the LORD; Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity.

It will happen when they ask you, ‘Where shall we go out?’ then you shall tell them, ‘The LORD says: “Such as are for death, to death; such as are for the sword, to the sword; such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for captivity, to captivity.”’

Y emplearé contra ellos cuatro especies de castigo, dice el Señor, el cuchillo que los mate, los perros que los despedacen, y las aves del cielo y las bestias de la tierra que los devoren y consuman.

Y enviaré sobre ellos cuatro géneros, dice Jehová: cuchillo para matar, y perros para despedazar, y aves del cielo y bestias de la tierra, para devorar y para disipar.

And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy.

“I will appoint over them four kinds,” says the LORD: “the sword to kill, the dogs to tear, the birds of the sky, and the animals of the earth, to devour and to destroy.

Y haré que sean cruelmente perseguidos en todos los reinos de la tierra; por causa de Manasés, hijo de Ezequías , rey de Judá, por todas las cosas que hizo en Jerusalén .

Y entregarélos á ser agitados por todos los reinos de la tierra, á causa de Manasés hijo de Ezechîas rey de Judá, por lo que hizo en Jerusalem.

And I will cause them to be removed into all kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.

I will cause them to be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh, the son of Hezekiah, king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.

Porque ¿quién se apiadará de ti, oh Jerusalén ? ¿O quién se entristecerá por tu amor? ¿O quién irá a rogar por tu paz o felicidad?

Porque ¿quién tendrá compasión de ti, oh Jerusalem? ¿ó quién se entristecerá por tu causa? ¿ó quién ha de venir á preguntar por tu paz?

For who shall have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall bemoan thee? or who shall go aside to ask how thou doest?

For who will have pity on you, Jerusalem? Who will mourn you? Who will come to ask of your welfare?

Tú me abandonaste, dice el Señor, y me volviste las espaldas, y yo extenderé mi mano sobre ti, y te exterminaré, cansado estoy de rogarte.

Tú me dejaste, dice Jehová, atrás te volviste: por tanto yo extenderé sobre ti mi mano, y te destruiré; estoy cansado de arrepentirme.

Thou hast forsaken me, saith the LORD, thou art gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, and destroy thee; I am weary with repenting.

You have rejected me,” says the LORD. “You have gone backward. Therefore I have stretched out my hand against you and destroyed you. I am weary of showing compassion.

Y así, a tus hijos, ¡oh Jerusalén !, yo los desparramaré con el azadón hasta las puertas o extremidades de la tierra; hice muertes y estragos en mi pueblo; y ni aun con todo eso han retrocedido de sus malos caminos.

Y aventélos con aventador hasta las puertas de la tierra; desahijé, desbaraté mi pueblo; no se tornaron de sus caminos.

And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will bereave them of children, I will destroy my people, since they return not from their ways.

I have winnowed them with a fan in the gates of the land. I have bereaved them of children. I have destroyed my people. They didn’t return from their ways.

Yo he hecho más viudas entre ellos que arenas tiene el mar; he enviado contra ellos quien en el mismo mediodía les mate a las madres de sus hijos; he esparcido sobre las ciudades un repentino terror.

Sus viudas se me multiplicaron más que la arena de la mar; traje contra ellos destruidor á medio día sobre la madre y los hijos; sobre la ciudad hice que de repente cayesen terrores.

Their widows are increased to me above the sand of the seas: I have brought upon them against the mother of the young men a spoiler at noonday: I have caused him to fall upon it suddenly, and terrors upon the city.

Their widows are increased more than the sand of the seas. I have brought on them against the mother of the young men a destroyer at noonday. I have caused anguish and terrors to fall on her suddenly.

Se debilitó la madre que había parido siete o muchísimos hijos; desmayó su alma; se le escondió el sol cuando aún era de día, quedó confusa y llena de rubor; y a los hijos que quedaren de ella, yo los entregaré a ser pasados a cuchillo a vista o por medio de sus enemigos, dice el Señor.

Enflaquecióse la que parió siete; llenóse de dolor su alma; su sol se le puso siendo aún de día; fué avergonzada y llena de confusión: y lo que de ella quedare, entregarélo á cuchillo delante de sus enemigos, dice Jehová.

She that hath borne seven languisheth: she hath given up the ghost; her sun is gone down while it was yet day: she hath been ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.

She who has borne seven languishes. She has given up the spirit. Her sun has gone down while it was yet day. She has been disappointed and confounded. I will deliver their residue to the sword before their enemies,” says the LORD.

¡Ay, madre mía, cuán infeliz soy yo! ¿Por qué me diste a luz para ser, como soy, un hombre de contradicción, un hombre de discordia, en toda esta tierra? Yo no he dado dinero a interés, ni nadie me lo ha dado a mí, y no obstante todos me maldicen.

¡Ay de mí, madre mía, que me has engendrado hombre de contienda y hombre de discordia á toda la tierra! Nunca les dí á logro, ni lo tomé de ellos; y todos me maldicen.

Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them doth curse me.

Woe is me, my mother, that you have borne me, a man of strife, and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have not lent, neither have men lent to me; yet every one of them curses me.

Entonces el Señor me respondió: Yo juro que serás feliz el resto de tu vida; que yo te sostendré al tiempo de la aflicción, y en tiempo de tribulación te defenderé contra tus enemi-gos.

Dijo Jehová: De cierto tus reliquias serán en bien; de cierto haré que el enemigo te salga á recibir en el tiempo trabajoso, y en el tiempo de angustia.

The LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee well in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.

The LORD said, “Most certainly I will strengthen you for good. Most certainly I will cause the enemy to make supplication to you in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.

¿Por ventura el hierro común hará liga con el hierro del Norte? ¿Y el bronce común con aquel bronce?

¿Quebrará el hierro al hierro de la parte de aquilón, y al bronce?

Shall iron break the northern iron and the steel?

Can one break iron, even iron from the north, and bronze?

¡Oh Jerusalén ! Yo entregaré, y sin precio, al saqueo tus riquezas y tus tesoros, por causa de todos los pecados que has hecho y de todos los ídolos que tienes en tus confines;

Tus riquezas y tus tesoros daré á saco sin ningún precio, por todos tus pecados, y en todos tus términos;

Thy substance and thy treasures will I give to the spoil without price, and that for all thy sins, even in all thy borders.

I will give your substance and your treasures for a plunder without price, and that for all your sins, even in all your borders.

y traeré tus enemigos de una tierra que te es desconocida; porque se ha encendido el fuego de mi indignación, que os abrasará con sus llamas.

Y te haré pasar á tus enemigos en tierra que no conoces: porque fuego se ha encendido en mi furor, y arderá sobre vosotros.

And I will make thee to pass with thine enemies into a land which thou knowest not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger, which shall burn upon you.

I will make them to pass with your enemies into a land which you don’t know; for a fire is kindled in my anger, which will burn on you.”

Tú, ¡oh Señor!, que sabes mi inocencia, acuérdate de mí, y ampárame, y defiéndeme de los que me persiguen; no difieras socorrerme, por razón de tu paciencia con los enemigos, bien sabes que por amor tuyo he sufrido mil oprobios.

Tú lo sabes, oh Jehová; acuérdate de mí, y visítame, y véngame de mis enemigos. No me tomes en la prolongación de tu enojo: sabes que por amor de ti sufro afrenta.

O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke.

LORD, you know. Remember me, visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors. You are patient, so don’t take me away. Know that for your sake I have suffered reproach.

Yo hallé tu divina palabra, y me alimenté con ella; y en tu palabra hallé el gozo mío y la alegría de mi corazón; porque yo llevo el nombre de profeta tuyo, ¡oh Señor Dios de los ejércitos!

Halláronse tus palabras, y yo las comí; y tu palabra me fué por gozo y por alegría de mi corazón: porque tu nombre se invocó sobre mí, oh Jehová Dios de los ejércitos.

Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

Your words were found, and I ate them. Your words were to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart, for I am called by your name, LORD, God of Armies.

No me he sentado en las reuniones de los escarnecedores o impíos; ni me engreí de lo que obró el poder de tu mano; solo me estaba y retirado, pues tú me llenaste de vaticinios o palabras amenazadoras.

No me senté en compañía de burladores, ni me engreí á causa de tu profecía; sentéme solo, porque me llenaste de desabrimiento.

I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.

I didn’t sit in the assembly of those who make merry and rejoice. I sat alone because of your hand, for you have filled me with indignation.

¿Por qué se ha hecho continuo mi dolor, y no admite remedio mi llaga desahuciada? Ella se ha hecho para mí como unas aguas engañosas, en cuyo vado no hay que fiarse.

¿Por qué fué perpetuo mi dolor, y mi herida desahuciada no admitió cura? ¿Serás para mí como cosa ilusoria, como aguas que no son estables?

Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth to be healed? wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar, and as waters that fail?

Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuses to be healed? Will you indeed be to me as a deceitful brook, like waters that fail?

Por esto, así habla el Señor: Si te vuelves a mí, yo te cambiaré, y estarás firme y animoso ante mi presencia; y si sabes separar lo precioso de lo vil, tú serás entonces como otra boca mía. Entonces ellos se volverán hacia ti con ruegos, y tú no te volverás hacia ellos.

Por tanto así dijo Jehová: Si te convirtieres, yo te repondré, y delante de mí estarás; y si sacares lo precioso de lo vil, serás como mi boca. Conviértanse ellos á ti, y tú no te conviertas á ellos.

Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before me: and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them.

Therefore the LORD says, “If you return, then I will bring you again, that you may stand before me; and if you take out the precious from the vile, you will be as my mouth. They will return to you, but you will not return to them.

Antes bien haré yo que seas con respecto a ese pueblo un muro de bronce inexpugnable; ellos combatirán contra ti, y no podrán prevalecer, porque yo estoy contigo para salvarte y librarte, dice el Señor.

Y te daré para este pueblo por fuerte muro de bronce, y pelearán contra ti, y no te vencerán: porque yo estoy contigo para guardarte y para defenderte, dice Jehová.

And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD.

I will make you to this people a fortified bronze wall. They will fight against you, but they will not prevail against you; for I am with you to save you and to deliver you,” says the LORD.

Yo te libraré, pues, de las manos de los malvados, y te salvaré del poder de los fuertes.

Y librarte he de la mano de los malos, y te redimiré de la mano de los fuertes.

And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.

“I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem you out of the hand of the terrible.”
