Jeremías 16

1E veio a mim a palavra do SENHOR, dizendo:
2Não tomes para ti mulher, nem tenhas filhos nem filhas neste lugar.
3Porque assim diz o SENHOR quanto aos filhos e às filhas que nascerem neste lugar, e às suas mães que os tiverem e aos pais que os gerarem nesta terra:
4De dolorosas enfermidades morrerão; não serão pranteados nem sepultados; servirão de esterco sobre a face da terra; e com espada e com fome serão consumidos, e seus cadáveres servirão de alimento para as aves do céu e para os animais da terra.
5Porque assim diz o SENHOR: Não entres em casa de luto, nem vás para lamentar, nem mostre compaixão deles; pois deste povo eu tirei minha paz, bondade e misericórdia, diz o SENHOR.
6E nesta terra morrerão grandes e pequenos; não serão sepultados, nem pranteados, nem por eles se cortarão, ou rasparão seus cabelos;
7Nem repartirão pão aos que estiverem de luto, para consolá-los de seus mortos; nem lhes darão a beber copo de consolações pelo pai ou pela mãe.
8Nem também entres em casa de banquete, para te sentares com eles para comer e beber;
9Porque assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Eis que farei cessar neste lugar, diante de vossos olhos e em vossos dias, toda voz de prazer e toda voz de alegria, toda voz de noivo e toda voz de noiva.
10E será que quando anunciares a este povo todas estas palavras, eles te dirão: Por que o SENHOR falou sobre nós este mal tão grande? E que maldade é a nossa, ou que pecado é o nosso, que cometemos contra o SENHOR nosso Deus?
11Então lhes dirás: Porque vossos pais me deixaram, diz o SENHOR, e seguiram deuses estrangeiros, os serviram e a eles se prostraram; e me abandonaram, e não guardaram minha Lei;
12E vós fizestes pior que vossos pais; pois eis que vós caminhais cada um atrás da teimosia de seu coração maligno, sem me obedecerem.
13Por isso eu vos lançarei fora desta terra, para uma terra que nem vós nem vossos pais conhecestes; e lá servireis a deuses estrangeiros de dia e de noite, porque não terei misericórdia de vós.
14Porém eis que vêm dias, diz o SENHOR, que não se dirá mais: Vive o SENHOR, que trouxe os filhos de Israel da terra do Egito;
15Mas sim: Vive o SENHOR, que trouxe os filhos de Israel da terra do norte, e de todas as terras aonde ele tinha os lançado; pois eu os farei voltar à sua terra, a qual dei a seus pais.
16Eis que enviarei muitos pescadores, diz o SENHOR, que os pescarão; e depois enviarei muitos caçadores, que os caçarão de todo monte, e de todo morro, e até das fendas das rochas.
17Pois meus olhos estão sobre todos seus caminhos; eles não estão escondidos de mim, nem a maldade deles está oculta de diante de meus olhos.
18Mas primeiro pagarei em dobro a iniquidade e o pecado deles, pois contaminaram minha terra com os cadáveres de suas coisas detestáveis, e encheram minha herança de suas abominações.
19Ó SENHOR, fortaleza minha, e força minha, e meu refúgio no tempo da aflição; a ti virão nações desde os confins da terra, e dirão: Certamente o que nossos pais possuíam era mentira e inutilidade; não havia nessas coisas proveito algum.
20Pode, por acaso, o homem fazer deuses para si? Eles, porém, não são deuses.
21Portanto eis que desta vez lhes farei conhecer, lhes farei conhecer minha mão e meu poder, e saberão que EU-SOU é o meu nome.

1Y FUÉ á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
2No tomarás para ti mujer, ni tendrás hijos ni hijas en este lugar.
3Porque así ha dicho Jehová acerca de los hijos y de las hijas que nacieren en este lugar, y de sus madres que los parieren, y de los padres que los engendraren en esta tierra.
4De dolorosas enfermedades morirán; no serán plañidos ni enterrados: serán por muladar sobre la haz de la tierra: y con cuchillo y con hambre serán consumidos, y sus cuerpos serán para comida de las aves del cielo y de las bestias de la tierra.
5Porque así ha dicho Jehová: No entres en casa de luto, ni vayas á lamentar, ni los consueles: porque yo he quitado mi paz de este pueblo, dice Jehová, mi misericordia y piedades.
6Y morirán en esta tierra grandes y chicos: no se enterrarán, ni los plañirán, ni se arañarán, ni se mesarán por ellos;
7Ni por ellos partirán pan por luto, para consolarlos de sus muertos; ni les darán á beber vaso de consolaciones por su padre ó por su madre.
8Asimismo no entres en casa de convite, para sentarte con ellos á comer ó á beber.
9Porque así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel; He aquí que yo haré cesar en este lugar, delante de vuestros ojos y en vuestros días, toda voz de gozo y toda voz de alegría, toda voz de esposo y toda voz de esposa.
10Y acontecerá que cuando anunciares á este pueblo todas estas cosas, te dirán ellos: ¿Por qué habló Jehová sobre nosotros todo este mal tan grande? ¿y qué maldad es la nuestra, ó qué pecado es el nuestro, que cometiéramos contra Jehová nuestro Dios?
11Entonces les dirás: Porque vuestros padres me dejaron, dice Jehová, y anduvieron en pos de dioses ajenos, y los sirvieron, y á ellos se encorvaron, y me dejaron á mí, y no guardaron mi ley;
12Y vosotros habéis hecho peor que vuestros padres; porque he aquí que vosotros camináis cada uno tras la imaginación de su malvado corazón, no oyéndome á mí.
13Por tanto, yo os haré echar de esta tierra á tierra que ni vosotros ni vuestros padres habéis conocido, y allá serviréis á dioses ajenos de día y de noche; porque no os mostraré clemencia.
14Empero he aquí, vienen días, dice Jehová, que no se dirá más: Vive Jehová, que hizo subir á los hijos de Israel de tierra de Egipto;
15Sino: Vive Jehová, que hizo subir á los hijos de Israel de la tierra del aquilón, y de todas las tierras á donde los había arrojado: y volverélos á su tierra, la cual dí á sus padres.
16He aquí que yo envío muchos pescadores, dice Jehová, y los pescarán; y después enviaré muchos cazadores, y los cazarán de todo monte, y de todo collado, y de las cavernas de los peñascos.
17Porque mis ojos están sobre todos sus caminos, los cuales no se me ocultaron, ni su maldad se esconde de la presencia de mis ojos.
18Mas primero pagaré al doble su iniquidad y su pecado; porque contaminaron mi tierra con los cuerpos muertos de sus abominaciones, y de sus abominaciones llenaron mi heredad.
19Oh Jehová, fortaleza mía, y fuerza mía, y refugio mío en el tiempo de la aflicción; á ti vendrán gentes desde los extremos de la tierra, y dirán: Ciertamente mentira poseyeron nuestros padres, vanidad, y no hay en ellos provecho.
20¿Ha de hacer el hombre dioses para sí? mas ellos no son dioses.
21Por tanto, he aquí, les enseñaré de esta vez, enseñarles he mi mano y mi fortaleza, y sabrán que mi nombre es Jehová.

1The word of the LORD came also unto me, saying,
2Thou shalt not take thee a wife, neither shalt thou have sons or daughters in this place.
3For thus saith the LORD concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that bare them, and concerning their fathers that begat them in this land;
4They shall die of grievous deaths; they shall not be lamented; neither shall they be buried; but they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.
5For thus saith the LORD, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith the LORD, even lovingkindness and mercies.
6Both the great and the small shall die in this land: they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them:
7Neither shall men tear themselves for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.
8Thou shalt not also go into the house of feasting, to sit with them to eat and to drink.
9For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.
10And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt shew this people all these words, and they shall say unto thee, Wherefore hath the LORD pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?
11Then shalt thou say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith the LORD, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law;
12And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me:
13Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that ye know not, neither ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other gods day and night; where I will not shew you favour.
14Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be said, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
15But, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.
16Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the LORD, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.
17For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes.
18And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my land, they have filled mine inheritance with the carcases of their detestable and abominable things.
19O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
20Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods?
21Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD.
World English Bible
1Then the LORD’s word came to me, saying,
2“You shall not take a wife, neither shall you have sons or daughters, in this place.”
3For the LORD says concerning the sons and concerning the daughters who are born in this place, and concerning their mothers who bore them, and concerning their fathers who became their father in this land:
4“They will die grievous deaths. They will not be lamented, neither will they be buried. They will be as dung on the surface of the ground. They will be consumed by the sword and by famine. Their dead bodies will be food for the birds of the sky and for the animals of the earth.”
5For the LORD says, “Don’t enter into the house of mourning. Don’t go to lament. Don’t bemoan them, for I have taken away my peace from this people,” says the LORD, “even loving kindness and tender mercies.
6Both great and small will die in this land. They will not be buried. Men won’t lament for them, cut themselves, or make themselves bald for them.
7Men won’t break bread for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead. Men won’t give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.
8“You shall not go into the house of feasting to sit with them, to eat and to drink.”
9For the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel says: “Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place, before your eyes and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.
10It will happen, when you tell this people all these words, and they ask you, ‘Why has the LORD pronounced all this great evil against us?’ or ‘What is our iniquity?’ or ‘What is our sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?’
11then you shall tell them, ‘Because your fathers have forsaken me,’ says the LORD, ‘and have walked after other gods, have served them, have worshiped them, have forsaken me, and have not kept my law.
12You have done evil more than your fathers, for behold, you each walk after the stubbornness of his evil heart, so that you don’t listen to me.
13Therefore I will cast you out of this land into the land that you have not known, neither you nor your fathers. There you will serve other gods day and night, for I will show you no favor.’
14“Therefore behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that it will no more be said, ‘As the LORD lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;’
15but, ‘As the LORD lives, who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the countries where he had driven them.’ I will bring them again into their land that I gave to their fathers.
16“Behold, I will send for many fishermen,” says the LORD, “and they will fish them up. Afterward I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them from every mountain, from every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks.
17For my eyes are on all their ways. They are not hidden from my face. Their iniquity isn’t concealed from my eyes.
18First I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable things, and have filled my inheritance with their abominations.”
19LORD, my strength, my stronghold, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the nations will come to you from the ends of the earth, and will say, “Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies, vanity and things in which there is no profit.
20Should a man make to himself gods which yet are no gods?”
21“Therefore behold, I will cause them to know, this once I will cause them to know my hand and my might. Then they will know that my name is the LORD.”
