En otra ocasión me habló nuevamente el Señor y me dijo:
Y FUÉ á mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
The word of the LORD came also unto me, saying,
Then the LORD’s word came to me, saying,
No debes casarte ni tener hijos ni hijas en este lugar,
No tomarás para ti mujer, ni tendrás hijos ni hijas en este lugar.
Thou shalt not take thee a wife, neither shalt thou have sons or daughters in this place.
“You shall not take a wife, neither shall you have sons or daughters, in this place.”
porque de los niños y niñas que nazcan en esta ciudad, sus madres y padres
Porque así ha dicho Jehová acerca de los hijos y de las hijas que nacieren en este lugar, y de sus madres que los parieren, y de los padres que los engendraren en esta tierra.
For thus saith the LORD concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that bare them, and concerning their fathers that begat them in this land;
For the LORD says concerning the sons and concerning the daughters who are born in this place, and concerning their mothers who bore them, and concerning their fathers who became their father in this land:
morirán a causa de guerras y hambrunas. Nadie llevará luto por ellos ni los enterrarán, sino que sus cadáveres yacerán por tierra para pudrirse y abonar el campo. Sus pellejos serán destrozados por buitres y fieras.
De dolorosas enfermedades morirán; no serán plañidos ni enterrados: serán por muladar sobre la haz de la tierra: y con cuchillo y con hambre serán consumidos, y sus cuerpos serán para comida de las aves del cielo y de las bestias de la tierra.
They shall die of grievous deaths; they shall not be lamented; neither shall they be buried; but they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.
“They will die grievous deaths. They will not be lamented, neither will they be buried. They will be as dung on the surface of the ground. They will be consumed by the sword and by famine. Their dead bodies will be food for the birds of the sky and for the animals of the earth.”
No te enlutes ni llores por ellos, pues yo les he retirado mi protección y mi paz; les he retirado mi benignidad y misericordia, dice el Señor.
Porque así ha dicho Jehová: No entres en casa de luto, ni vayas á lamentar, ni los consueles: porque yo he quitado mi paz de este pueblo, dice Jehová, mi misericordia y piedades.
For thus saith the LORD, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith the LORD, even lovingkindness and mercies.
For the LORD says, “Don’t enter into the house of mourning. Don’t go to lament. Don’t bemoan them, for I have taken away my peace from this people,” says the LORD, “even loving kindness and tender mercies.
Tanto los grandes como los pequeños morirán en esta tierra, insepultos y sin haber quien los llore. Sus amigos no se harán heridas ni se raparán la cabeza en señal de dolor, como es la costumbre.
Y morirán en esta tierra grandes y chicos: no se enterrarán, ni los plañirán, ni se arañarán, ni se mesarán por ellos;
Both the great and the small shall die in this land: they shall not be buried, neither shall men lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them:
Both great and small will die in this land. They will not be buried. Men won’t lament for them, cut themselves, or make themselves bald for them.
Nadie confortará con alimento a los dolientes ni les enviarán una copa de vino como señal de dolor y solidaridad por la muerte de padres y madres.
Ni por ellos partirán pan por luto, para consolarlos de sus muertos; ni les darán á beber vaso de consolaciones por su padre ó por su madre.
Neither shall men tear themselves for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.
Men won’t break bread for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead. Men won’t give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.
Como señal de los tristes días que están por venir, tampoco aceptes invitaciones a sus banquetes y fiestas.
Asimismo no entres en casa de convite, para sentarte con ellos á comer ó á beber.
Thou shalt not also go into the house of feasting, to sit with them to eat and to drink.
“You shall not go into the house of feasting to sit with them, to eat and to drink.”
Porque el Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel, dice: En tus días, ante tus propios ojos, haré que desaparezca la alegría de este pueblo, incluso los alegres cantos y las fiestas de boda.
Porque así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel; He aquí que yo haré cesar en este lugar, delante de vuestros ojos y en vuestros días, toda voz de gozo y toda voz de alegría, toda voz de esposo y toda voz de esposa.
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.
For the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel says: “Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place, before your eyes and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.
Y cuando digas estas cosas al pueblo y te pregunten: «¿Por qué ha decidido el Señor tan terribles males contra nosotros?, ¿qué hemos hecho para merecerlo?, ¿cuál es nuestra conducta errónea contra el Señor Dios nuestro?»,
Y acontecerá que cuando anunciares á este pueblo todas estas cosas, te dirán ellos: ¿Por qué habló Jehová sobre nosotros todo este mal tan grande? ¿y qué maldad es la nuestra, ó qué pecado es el nuestro, que cometiéramos contra Jehová nuestro Dios?
And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt shew this people all these words, and they shall say unto thee, Wherefore hath the LORD pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?
It will happen, when you tell this people all these words, and they ask you, ‘Why has the LORD pronounced all this great evil against us?’ or ‘What is our iniquity?’ or ‘What is our sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?’
diles que la respuesta del Señor es esta: Porque sus antepasados me abandonaron. Adoraron a otros dioses y les fueron muy devotos y fieles, y desobedecieron todas mis instrucciones.
Entonces les dirás: Porque vuestros padres me dejaron, dice Jehová, y anduvieron en pos de dioses ajenos, y los sirvieron, y á ellos se encorvaron, y me dejaron á mí, y no guardaron mi ley;
Then shalt thou say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith the LORD, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law;
then you shall tell them, ‘Because your fathers have forsaken me,’ says the LORD, ‘and have walked after other gods, have served them, have worshiped them, have forsaken me, and have not kept my law.
¡Pero ustedes han sido aun peores que sus antepasados! Se sienten muy satisfechos practicando maldades y no quieren seguir mis consejos.
Y vosotros habéis hecho peor que vuestros padres; porque he aquí que vosotros camináis cada uno tras la imaginación de su malvado corazón, no oyéndome á mí.
And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me:
You have done evil more than your fathers, for behold, you each walk after the stubbornness of his evil heart, so that you don’t listen to me.
Por lo tanto yo los echaré de esta tierra y serán llevados a la fuerza a tierras extrañas en donde ni ustedes ni sus antepasados estuvieron antes, y allá rendirán homenaje a sus ídolos. ¡Y no esperen que los perdone!
Por tanto, yo os haré echar de esta tierra á tierra que ni vosotros ni vuestros padres habéis conocido, y allá serviréis á dioses ajenos de día y de noche; porque no os mostraré clemencia.
Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that ye know not, neither ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other gods day and night; where I will not shew you favour.
Therefore I will cast you out of this land into the land that you have not known, neither you nor your fathers. There you will serve other gods day and night, for I will show you no favor.’
Pero vendrá un día maravilloso, dice el Señor, cuando el tema de toda conversación será que desde los países norteños a donde como castigo los había enviado como esclavos, los traeré de nuevo a su propio país. Ya no será su más importante recuerdo el de cuando liberé a sus antepasados de Egipto, sino que la liberación de su cautiverio del norte será el acontecimiento más celebrado. Aquel portentoso milagro casi no volverá a mencionarse. Sí, los traeré de regreso, dice el Señor, a esta misma tierra que di a sus antepasados.
Empero he aquí, vienen días, dice Jehová, que no se dirá más: Vive Jehová, que hizo subir á los hijos de Israel de tierra de Egipto;
Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be said, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
“Therefore behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that it will no more be said, ‘As the LORD lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;’

Sino: Vive Jehová, que hizo subir á los hijos de Israel de la tierra del aquilón, y de todas las tierras á donde los había arrojado: y volverélos á su tierra, la cual dí á sus padres.
But, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.
but, ‘As the LORD lives, who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the countries where he had driven them.’ I will bring them again into their land that I gave to their fathers.
Ahora envío a llamar a muchos pescadores para que los pesquen de lo profundo en donde se ocultan de mi gran cólera, dice el Señor. Envío a buscar cazadores para que los persigan como a venados en el bosque o cabras monteses en riscos inaccesibles. Adondequiera que corran huyendo de mi juicio, los hallaré y los castigaré.
He aquí que yo envío muchos pescadores, dice Jehová, y los pescarán; y después enviaré muchos cazadores, y los cazarán de todo monte, y de todo collado, y de las cavernas de los peñascos.
Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the LORD, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.
“Behold, I will send for many fishermen,” says the LORD, “and they will fish them up. Afterward I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them from every mountain, from every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks.
Porque para nada los pierdo de vista y estoy atento a todas las maldades que cometen. Es inútil que intenten ocultarse de mí.
Porque mis ojos están sobre todos sus caminos, los cuales no se me ocultaron, ni su maldad se esconde de la presencia de mis ojos.
For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes.
For my eyes are on all their ways. They are not hidden from my face. Their iniquity isn’t concealed from my eyes.
Les daré doble castigo por sus actos malvados, porque han corrompido mi tierra con sus detestables ídolos y todas sus malas acciones.
Mas primero pagaré al doble su iniquidad y su pecado; porque contaminaron mi tierra con los cuerpos muertos de sus abominaciones, y de sus abominaciones llenaron mi heredad.
And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my land, they have filled mine inheritance with the carcases of their detestable and abominable things.
First I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable things, and have filled my inheritance with their abominations.”
Oh Señor, tú que eres para mí como fortaleza y baluarte en mi debilidad, como mi refugio en los días que estoy angustiado, pueblos de muchas partes del mundo acudirán a ti diciendo: «Nuestros antepasados fueron insensatos, pues adoraban ídolos vanos que para nada les aprovecharon.
Oh Jehová, fortaleza mía, y fuerza mía, y refugio mío en el tiempo de la aflicción; á ti vendrán gentes desde los extremos de la tierra, y dirán: Ciertamente mentira poseyeron nuestros padres, vanidad, y no hay en ellos provecho.
O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
LORD, my strength, my stronghold, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the nations will come to you from the ends of the earth, and will say, “Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies, vanity and things in which there is no profit.
¿Podrán los seres humanos hacer dioses? ¡Qué van a ser dioses los que ellos hicieron!».
¿Ha de hacer el hombre dioses para sí? mas ellos no son dioses.
Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods?
Should a man make to himself gods which yet are no gods?”
Y cuando con esa actitud acudan a mí, entonces yo les mostraré mi poder y energía y haré que por fin comprendan que sólo yo soy Dios, y que mi nombre es el Señor.
Por tanto, he aquí, les enseñaré de esta vez, enseñarles he mi mano y mi fortaleza, y sabrán que mi nombre es Jehová.
Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD.
“Therefore behold, I will cause them to know, this once I will cause them to know my hand and my might. Then they will know that my name is the LORD.”
