1Worte Jeremias, des Sohnes Hilkijas, von den Priestern, die zu Anathoth waren im Lande Benjamin,
2zu welchem das Wort Jehovas geschah in den Tagen Josias, des Sohnes Amons, des Königs von Juda, im dreizehnten Jahre seiner Regierung;
3und es geschah auch in den Tagen Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda, bis zum Ende des elften Jahres Zedekias, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda, bis zur Wegführung Jerusalems im fünften Monat.
4Und das Wort Jehovas geschah zu mir also:
5Ehe ich dich im Mutterleibe bildete, habe ich dich erkannt, und ehe du aus dem Mutterschoße hervorkamst, habe ich dich geheiligt: zum Propheten an die Nationen habe ich dich bestellt.
6Und ich sprach: Ach, Herr, Jehova! Siehe, ich weiß nicht zu reden, denn ich bin jung.
7Da sprach Jehova zu mir: Sage nicht: Ich bin jung; denn zu allen, wohin ich dich senden werde, sollst du gehen, und alles, was ich dir gebieten werde, sollst du reden.
8Fürchte dich nicht vor ihnen; denn ich bin mit dir, um dich zu erretten, spricht Jehova.
9Und Jehova streckte seine Hand aus und rührte meinen Mund an, und Jehova sprach zu mir: Siehe, ich lege meine Worte in deinen Mund.
10Siehe, ich bestelle dich an diesem Tage über die Nationen und über die Königreiche, um auszurotten und niederzureißen und zu zerstören und abzubrechen, um zu bauen und um zu pflanzen.
11Und das Wort Jehovas geschah zu mir also: Was siehst du, Jeremia? Und ich sprach: Ich sehe einen Mandelstab.
12Und Jehova sprach zu mir: Du hast recht gesehen; denn ich werde über mein Wort wachen, es auszuführen.
13Und das Wort Jehovas geschah zu mir zum zweiten Male also: Was siehst du? Und ich sprach: Ich sehe einen siedenden Topf, dessen Vorderteil gegen Süden gerichtet ist.
14Und Jehova sprach zu mir: Von Norden her wird das Unglück losbrechen über alle Bewohner des Landes.
15Denn siehe, ich rufe allen Geschlechtern der Königreiche gegen Norden, spricht Jehova, daß sie kommen und ein jeder seinen Thron stellen an den Eingang der Tore Jerusalems und wider alle seine Mauern ringsum, und wider alle Städte Judas.
16Und ich werde meine Gerichte über sie sprechen wegen all ihrer Bosheit, daß sie mich verlassen und anderen Göttern geräuchert und vor den Werken ihrer Hände sich niedergebeugt haben.
17Du aber gürte deine Lenden und mache dich auf, und rede zu ihnen alles, was ich dir gebieten werde; verzage nicht vor ihnen, damit ich dich nicht vor ihnen verzagt mache.
18Und ich, siehe, ich mache dich heute zu einer festen Stadt und zu einer eisernen Säule und zu einer ehernen Mauer wider das ganze Land, sowohl wider die Könige von Juda als auch dessen Fürsten, dessen Priester und das Volk des Landes.
19Und sie werden gegen dich streiten, aber dich nicht überwältigen; denn ich bin mit dir, spricht Jehova, um dich zu erretten.

1LAS palabras de Jeremías hijo de Hilcías, de los sacerdotes que estuvieron en Anathoth, en tierra de Benjamín.
2La palabra de Jehová que fué á él en los días de Josías hijo de Amón, rey de Judá, en el año décimotercio de su reinado.
3Fué asimismo en días de Joacim hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, hasta el fin del año undécimo de Sedechîas hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, hasta la cautividad de Jerusalem en el mes quinto.
4Fué pues palabra de Jehová á mí, diciendo:
5Antes que te formase en el vientre te conocí, y antes que salieses de la matriz te santifiqué, te dí por profeta á las gentes.
6Y yo dije: ¡Ah! ¡ah! ¡Señor Jehová! He aquí, no sé hablar, porque soy niño.
7Y díjome Jehová: No digas, soy niño; porque á todo lo que te enviaré irás tú, y dirás todo lo que te mandaré.
8No temas delante de ellos, porque contigo soy para librarte, dice Jehová.
9Y extendió Jehová su mano, y tocó sobre mi boca; y díjome Jehová: He aquí he puesto mis palabras en tu boca.
10Mira que te he puesto en este día sobre gentes y sobre reinos, para arrancar y para destruir, y para arruinar y para derribar, y para edificar y para plantar.
11Y la palabra de Jehová fué á mí, diciendo: ¿Qué ves tú, Jeremías? Y dije: Yo veo una vara de almendro.
12Y díjome Jehová: Bien has visto; porque yo apresuro mi palabra para ponerla por obra.
13Y fué á mí palabra de Jehová segunda vez, diciendo: ¿Qué ves tú? Y dije: Yo veo una olla que hierve; y su haz está de la parte del aquilón.
14Y díjome Jehová: Del aquilón se soltará el mal sobre todos los moradores de la tierra.
15Porque he aquí que yo convoco todas las familias de los reinos del aquilón, dice Jehová; y vendrán, y pondrá cada uno su asiento á la entrada de las puertas de Jerusalem, y junto á todos sus muros en derredor, y en todas las ciudades de Judá.
16Y á causa de toda su malicia, proferiré mis juicios contra los que me dejaron, é incensaron á dioses extraños, y á hechuras de sus manos se encorvaron.
17Tú pues, ciñe tus lomos, y te levantarás, y les hablarás todo lo que te mandaré: no temas delante de ellos, porque no te haga yo quebrantar delante de ellos.
18Porque he aquí que yo te he puesto en este día como ciudad fortalecida, y como columna de hierro, y como muro de bronce sobre toda la tierra, á los reyes de Judá, á sus príncipes, á sus sacerdotes, y al pueblo de la tierra.
19Y pelearán contra ti, mas no te vencerán; porque yo soy contigo, dice Jehová, para librarte.

1The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests that were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin:
2To whom the word of the LORD came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.
3It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.
4Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
5Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
6Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
7But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
8Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
9Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
10See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
11Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree.
12Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
13And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north.
14Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
15For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.
16And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.
17Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.
18For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.
19And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.

1The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, one of the priests who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin.
2The LORD’s word came to him in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.
3It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, to the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, to the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.
4Now the LORD’s word came to me, saying,
5“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I sanctified you. I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
6Then I said, “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I don’t know how to speak; for I am a child.”
7But the LORD said to me, “Don’t say, ‘I am a child;’ for you must go to whomever I send you, and you must say whatever I command you.
8Don’t be afraid because of them, for I am with you to rescue you,” says the LORD.
9Then the LORD stretched out his hand and touched my mouth. Then the LORD said to me, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.
10Behold, I have today set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to uproot and to tear down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.”
11Moreover the LORD’s word came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” I said, “I see a branch of an almond tree.”
12Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well; for I watch over my word to perform it.”
13The LORD’s word came to me the second time, saying, “What do you see?” I said, “I see a boiling cauldron; and it is tipping away from the north.”
14Then the LORD said to me, “Out of the north, evil will break out on all the inhabitants of the land.
15For behold, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north,” says the LORD. “They will come, and they will each set his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all its walls all around, and against all the cities of Judah.
16I will utter my judgments against them concerning all their wickedness, in that they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, and worshiped the works of their own hands.
17“You therefore put your belt on your waist, arise, and say to them all that I command you. Don’t be dismayed at them, lest I dismay you before them.
18For behold, I have made you today a fortified city, an iron pillar, and bronze walls against the whole land—against the kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land.
19They will fight against you, but they will not prevail against you; for I am with you”, says the LORD, “to rescue you.”
