Jeremias recebeu a primeira mensagem no décimo terceiro ano do reinado de Josias, filho de Amom, rei de Judá.
La palabra de Jehová que fué á él en los días de Josías hijo de Amón, rey de Judá, en el año décimotercio de su reinado.

Deus lhe deu outras mensagens durante o reinado de Jeoaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá, e em várias outras ocasiões, até o quinto mês do décimo primeiro ano do reinado de Zedequias, filho de Josias, rei de Judá. Foi então que Jerusalém foi destruída, e os moradores da cidade foram levados para o exílio como escravos.

Fué pues palabra de Jehová á mí, diciendo:
Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Now the LORD’s word came to me, saying,
“Eu já o conhecia antes de você ser formado no ventre de sua mãe. Antes do seu nascimento, eu já havia separado e escolhido você para ser o meu profeta às nações”.
Antes que te formase en el vientre te conocí, y antes que salieses de la matriz te santifiqué, te dí por profeta á las gentes.
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I sanctified you. I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Então eu respondi: “Ah, Soberano Senhor! Eu não sou capaz de falar; não passo de uma criança!”
Y yo dije: ¡Ah! ¡ah! ¡Señor Jehová! He aquí, no sé hablar, porque soy niño.
Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
Then I said, “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I don’t know how to speak; for I am a child.”
“Não diga que você é muito jovem”, respondeu o Senhor, “porque você irá aonde eu o enviar e falará tudo o que eu mandar.
Y díjome Jehová: No digas, soy niño; porque á todo lo que te enviaré irás tú, y dirás todo lo que te mandaré.
But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
But the LORD said to me, “Don’t say, ‘I am a child;’ for you must go to whomever I send you, and you must say whatever I command you.
Você não precisa ter medo deles, pois eu, o Senhor, estarei com você para livrá-lo”.

Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.

Eu estou lhe dando poder sobre nações e reinos, para arrancar e derrubar, para destruir e arrasar, para construir e plantar”.
Mira que te he puesto en este día sobre gentes y sobre reinos, para arrancar y para destruir, y para arruinar y para derribar, y para edificar y para plantar.
See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
Behold, I have today set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to uproot and to tear down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.”
O Senhor falou comigo e perguntou: “O que você está vendo, Jeremias?” Eu respondi: “Estou vendo um ramo de amendoeira”.
Y la palabra de Jehová fué á mí, diciendo: ¿Qué ves tú, Jeremías? Y dije: Yo veo una vara de almendro.
Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree.
Moreover the LORD’s word came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” I said, “I see a branch of an almond tree.”
O Senhor me disse: “Exatamente. Isso significa que eu estou vigiando para que a minha palavra se cumpra”.
Y díjome Jehová: Bien has visto; porque yo apresuro mi palabra para ponerla por obra.
Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well; for I watch over my word to perform it.”
O Senhor falou comigo novamente, e me perguntou: “E agora, Jeremias, o que você está vendo?” E eu respondi: “Vejo uma panela fervendo. A boca dessa panela está inclinada do Norte para cá”.
Y fué á mí palabra de Jehová segunda vez, diciendo: ¿Qué ves tú? Y dije: Yo veo una olla que hierve; y su haz está de la parte del aquilón.
And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north.
The LORD’s word came to me the second time, saying, “What do you see?” I said, “I see a boiling cauldron; and it is tipping away from the north.”
O Senhor me disse: “Do Norte virá o terrível castigo sobre o povo desta terra.
Y díjome Jehová: Del aquilón se soltará el mal sobre todos los moradores de la tierra.
Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
Then the LORD said to me, “Out of the north, evil will break out on all the inhabitants of the land.
Estou convocando todas as nações dos reinos do Norte. Eles virão a Jerusalém, colocarão os seus tronos diante de suas portas e ao longo dos muros da cidade. Eles farão isso em todas as cidades de Judá.
Porque he aquí que yo convoco todas las familias de los reinos del aquilón, dice Jehová; y vendrán, y pondrá cada uno su asiento á la entrada de las puertas de Jerusalem, y junto á todos sus muros en derredor, y en todas las ciudades de Judá.
For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.

Assim eu vou dar ao meu povo o castigo que havia prometido por todas as suas maldades e por terem me abandonado, queimando incenso a outros deuses, adorando ídolos que eles mesmos fizeram!
Y á causa de toda su malicia, proferiré mis juicios contra los que me dejaron, é incensaron á dioses extraños, y á hechuras de sus manos se encorvaron.
And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.

“Vamos, Jeremias! Levante-se, vista-se e saia para anunciar ao povo tudo que eu ordenar. Não tenha medo deles, senão eu mesmo farei você se apavorar na presença deles.
Tú pues, ciñe tus lomos, y te levantarás, y les hablarás todo lo que te mandaré: no temas delante de ellos, porque no te haga yo quebrantar delante de ellos.
Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.
“You therefore put your belt on your waist, arise, and say to them all that I command you. Don’t be dismayed at them, lest I dismay you before them.
Eu hoje tornei você fortalecido; você não será destruído pelos ataques deles. Eu faço de você uma cidade fortificada, uma coluna de ferro e um muro de bronze.
Porque he aquí que yo te he puesto en este día como ciudad fortalecida, y como columna de hierro, y como muro de bronce sobre toda la tierra, á los reyes de Judá, á sus príncipes, á sus sacerdotes, y al pueblo de la tierra.
For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.
For behold, I have made you today a fortified city, an iron pillar, and bronze walls against the whole land—against the kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land.
Eles lutarão contra você, mas não conseguirão vencê-lo, pois eu estou com você e o livrarei”, diz o Senhor.
Y pelearán contra ti, mas no te vencerán; porque yo soy contigo, dice Jehová, para librarte.
And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.
They will fight against you, but they will not prevail against you; for I am with you”, says the LORD, “to rescue you.”
