El Señor, pues, le dirigió a él su palabra en los días del rey Josías, hijo de Amón, rey de Judá, el año decimotercero de su reinado.
La palabra de Jehová que fué á él en los días de Josías hijo de Amón, rey de Judá, en el año décimotercio de su reinado.
To whom the word of the LORD came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.

Y se la dirigió también en los días del rey Joakim, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá; hasta acabado el año undécimo de Sedecías, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá; esto es hasta la transportación de los judíos desde Jerusalén a Babilonia en el mes quinto.

Y el Señor me habló diciendo:
Fué pues palabra de Jehová á mí, diciendo:

Now the LORD’s word came to me, saying,
Antes que yo te formara en el seno materno te conocí; y antes que tú nacieras te santifiqué o segregué y te destiné para profeta entre las naciones.
Antes que te formase en el vientre te conocí, y antes que salieses de la matriz te santifiqué, te dí por profeta á las gentes.
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I sanctified you. I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
A lo que dije yo: ¡Ah! ¡Ah! ¡Señor, Dios! ¡Ah!, bien véis vos que yo casi no sé hablar, porque soy todavía un jovencito.
Y yo dije: ¡Ah! ¡ah! ¡Señor Jehová! He aquí, no sé hablar, porque soy niño.
Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
Then I said, “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I don’t know how to speak; for I am a child.”
Y me replicó el Señor: No digas, soy un jovencito, porque con mi auxilio tú ejecutarás todas las cosas para las cuales te comisione, y todo cuanto yo te encomiende que digas, lo di-rás.
Y díjome Jehová: No digas, soy niño; porque á todo lo que te enviaré irás tú, y dirás todo lo que te mandaré.
But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
But the LORD said to me, “Don’t say, ‘I am a child;’ for you must go to whomever I send you, and you must say whatever I command you.
No temas la presencia de aquellos a quienes te enviaré, porque contigo estoy yo para sacarte de cualquier embarazo, dice el Señor.
No temas delante de ellos, porque contigo soy para librarte, dice Jehová.
Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
Don’t be afraid because of them, for I am with you to rescue you,” says the LORD.
Después alargó el Señor su mano, y tocó mis labios; y me añadió el Señor: Mira, yo pongo mis palabras en tu boca;

Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

he aquí que hoy te doy autoridad sobre las naciones y sobre los reinos para comunicarles que les voy a desarraigar, y destruir, y arrasar, y disipar; y a edificar y plantar otros.
Mira que te he puesto en este día sobre gentes y sobre reinos, para arrancar y para destruir, y para arruinar y para derribar, y para edificar y para plantar.
See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
Behold, I have today set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to uproot and to tear down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.”
Luego me habló el Señor, y dijo: ¿Qué es eso que ves tú, Jeremías? Yo estoy viendo, respondí, la vara de uno que está vigilante.
Y la palabra de Jehová fué á mí, diciendo: ¿Qué ves tú, Jeremías? Y dije: Yo veo una vara de almendro.
Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree.
Moreover the LORD’s word came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” I said, “I see a branch of an almond tree.”
Y me dijo el Señor: Así es como tú has visto, pues yo seré vigilante en cumplir mi palabra.
Y díjome Jehová: Bien has visto; porque yo apresuro mi palabra para ponerla por obra.
Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well; for I watch over my word to perform it.”
Y me habló de nuevo el Señor, diciendo: ¿Qué es eso que tú ves? Veo, respondí, una olla o caldera hirviendo, y viene de la parte del norte.
Y fué á mí palabra de Jehová segunda vez, diciendo: ¿Qué ves tú? Y dije: Yo veo una olla que hierve; y su haz está de la parte del aquilón.
And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north.
The LORD’s word came to me the second time, saying, “What do you see?” I said, “I see a boiling cauldron; and it is tipping away from the north.”
Entonces me dijo el Señor: Eso te indica que del norte se difundirán los males sobre todos los habitantes de la tierra esta.
Y díjome Jehová: Del aquilón se soltará el mal sobre todos los moradores de la tierra.
Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
Then the LORD said to me, “Out of the north, evil will break out on all the inhabitants of the land.
Porque he aquí que yo convocaré todos los pueblos de los reinos del norte, dice el Señor; y vendrán, y cada uno de ellos pondrá su pabellón a la entrada de las puertas de Jerusalén , y alrededor de todos sus muros, y en todas las ciudades de Judá.
Porque he aquí que yo convoco todas las familias de los reinos del aquilón, dice Jehová; y vendrán, y pondrá cada uno su asiento á la entrada de las puertas de Jerusalem, y junto á todos sus muros en derredor, y en todas las ciudades de Judá.
For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.

Y yo trataré con ellos de castigar toda la malicia de aquellos que me abandonaron a mí, y ofrecieron libaciones a dioses extranjeros, y adoraron a los ídolos, obra de sus manos.
Y á causa de toda su malicia, proferiré mis juicios contra los que me dejaron, é incensaron á dioses extraños, y á hechuras de sus manos se encorvaron.
And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.

Ahora, pues, ármate de valor, y anda luego, y predícales todas las cosas que yo te mando; no te detengas por temor de ellos; porque yo haré que no temas su presencia.
Tú pues, ciñe tus lomos, y te levantarás, y les hablarás todo lo que te mandaré: no temas delante de ellos, porque no te haga yo quebrantar delante de ellos.
Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.
“You therefore put your belt on your waist, arise, and say to them all that I command you. Don’t be dismayed at them, lest I dismay you before them.
Puesto que en este día te constituyo como una ciudad fuerte y como una columna de hierro, y un muro de bronce contra toda la tierra esta; contra los reyes de Judá, y sus príncipes, y sacerdotes, y la gente del país.
Porque he aquí que yo te he puesto en este día como ciudad fortalecida, y como columna de hierro, y como muro de bronce sobre toda la tierra, á los reyes de Judá, á sus príncipes, á sus sacerdotes, y al pueblo de la tierra.
For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.

Los cuales te harán guerra; mas no prevalecerán: pues contigo estoy yo, dice el Señor, para librarte.
Y pelearán contra ti, mas no te vencerán; porque yo soy contigo, dice Jehová, para librarte.
And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.
They will fight against you, but they will not prevail against you; for I am with you”, says the LORD, “to rescue you.”
