No quarto ano do reinado de Jeoaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá, Jeremias recebeu esta mensagem para transmitir a todo o povo de Judá. Foi exatamente nesse ano que Nabucodonosor começou a reinar na Babilônia.
PALABRA que fué á Jeremías acerca de todo el pueblo de Judá en el año cuarto de Joacim hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, el cual es el año primero de Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia;
The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;

O profeta Jeremias anunciou a mensagem a todo o povo de Jerusalém e de Judá, e disse:
La cual habló Jeremías profeta á todo el pueblo de Judá, y á todos los moradores de Jerusalem, diciendo:
The which Jeremiah the prophet spake unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,

“Durante vinte e três anos, desde o décimo terceiro ano do reinado de Josias até hoje, o Senhor vem me revelando a sua palavra. E durante todo esse tempo, diariamente, desde a madrugada, eu anuncio a todos vocês o que o Senhor me revela. Mas vocês nunca me deram ouvidos.
Desde el año trece de Josías hijo de Amón, rey de Judá, hasta este día, que son veintitrés años, fué á mí palabra de Jehová, y os he hablado, madrugando y dando aviso; mas no oisteis.
From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.

“E isso não vem de hoje! Há muitos e muitos anos que Deus manda seus servos, os profetas, mas vocês também não deram ouvidos a eles; aliás, vocês nunca quiseram ouvir,
Y envió Jehová á vosotros todos sus siervos los profetas, madrugando y enviándolos; mas no oisteis, ni inclinasteis vuestro oído para escuchar,
And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.

quando eles disseram: ‘Abandonem esse caminho mau e os pecados que vocês vêm cometendo! Essa é a única maneira de vocês continuarem vivendo na terra que o Senhor deu a vocês e a seus pais, desde os seus antepassados para sempre.
Cuando decían: Volveos ahora de vuestro mal camino y de la maldad de vuestras obras, y morad en la tierra que os dió Jehová, á vosotros y á vuestros padres para siempre;
They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:
saying, “Return now everyone from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD has given to you and to your fathers, from of old and even forever more.
Não provoquem a minha ira, adorando e servindo outros deuses ou adorando os ídolos que vocês mesmos fizeram. Se vocês forem fiéis a mim, não trarei nenhuma desgraça sobre vocês’.
Y no vayáis en pos de dioses ajenos, sirviéndoles y encorvándoos á ellos, ni me provoquéis á ira con la obra de vuestras manos; y no os haré mal.

“ ‘Mas vocês nunca me ouviram’, diz o Senhor, ‘mas preferiram provocar a minha ira, adorando suas imagens. Com isso, vocês mesmos causaram todo o mal que hoje estão sofrendo’.
Empero no me habéis oído, dice Jehová, para provocarme á ira con la obra de vuestras manos para mal vuestro.
Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.

vou trazer os exércitos dos povos do Norte e o meu servo Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia’, diz o Senhor, ‘e os trarei para marchar contra esta terra, os seus moradores e contra todas as nações vizinhas. Eu destruirei completamente essas nações. Farei de vocês e de seus vizinhos motivo de pavor e zombaria! Serão um monte de ruínas para sempre.
He aquí enviaré yo, y tomaré todos los linajes del aquilón, dice Jehová, y á Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, mi siervo, y traerélos contra esta tierra, y contra sus moradores, y contra todas estas naciones en derredor; y los destruiré, y pondrélos por escarnio, y por silbo, y en soledades perpetuas.

Acabarei com a sua felicidade, com as canções alegres e as conversas felizes e carinhosas entre os noivos. Não vai se ouvir mais o som das mulheres moendo o cereal, e à noite todas as casas ficarão escuras.

Esta terra virá a ser uma terra deserta e causará espanto a quem passar por aqui. Israel e as nações vizinhas servirão ao rei da Babilônia durante setenta anos.

“ ‘E então, depois de setenta anos de escravidão, castigarei o rei e o povo da Babilônia por causa de seus pecados. A terra dos babilônios ficará sendo um monte de ruínas para sempre’, diz o Senhor.

‘Cumprirei todas as ameaças que eu fiz às nações e que Jeremias escreveu neste livro e profetizou contras todas as nações.

Assim me disse o Senhor, o Deus de Israel: “Tome este cálice que está na minha mão. Ele está cheio até a borda com o vinho da minha ira, e faça com que todas as nações a quem eu o enviar bebam desse cálice.
Porque así me dijo Jehová Dios de Israel: Toma de mi mano el vaso del vino de este furor, y da á beber de él á todas las gentes á las cuales yo te envío.
For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.
For the LORD, the God of Israel, says to me: “Take this cup of the wine of wrath from my hand, and cause all the nations to whom I send you to drink it.
Beberão e andarão aos tropeções como bêbados, por causa dos golpes mortais que farei cair sobre elas”.
Y beberán, y temblarán, y enloquecerán delante del cuchillo que yo envío entre ellos.
And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.

Então peguei o cálice do furor da ira da mão do Senhor. Levei-o a todas as nações às quais o Senhor me tinha enviado, e cada uma delas bebeu do cálice:

Fui a Jerusalém e às cidades de Judá; o rei e os príncipes beberam do cálice, e por isso o país está hoje destruído e vazio. Quem passa por aqui fica chocado com a maldição e zombaria que se vê hoje.

os reis de Edom, Moabe e Amom,

And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea,
and all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the isle which is beyond the sea;
de Dedã, Temá e Buz e todos os que rapam a cabeça;
Y á Dedán, y Tema, y Buz, y á todos los que están al cabo del mundo;

“Diga a todos esses reis o seguinte: ‘Assim diz o Senhor Todo-poderoso, o Deus de Israel: Bebam desse cálice! Bebam até ficarem embriagados, vomitem e caiam para nunca mais se levantar por causa da espada que vou enviar no meio de vocês.
Les dirás, pues: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Bebed, y embriagaos, y vomitad, y caed, y no os levantéis delante del cuchillo que yo envío entre vosotros.
Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.

Mas se eles não quiserem beber do cálice, diga-lhes: Assim diz o Senhor Todo-poderoso: Vocês serão obrigados a beber!

Começo o meu castigo pela cidade que leva o meu próprio nome. Por que vocês pensam que vão escapar impunes do sofrimento? Não, vocês não conseguirão escapar do meu castigo! Estou trazendo a espada contra todos os habitantes desta terra’, diz o Senhor Todo-poderoso.
Porque he aquí, que á la ciudad sobre la cual es invocado mi nombre yo comienzo á hacer mal; ¿y vosotros seréis absueltos? No seréis absueltos: porque espada traigo sobre todos los moradores de la tierra, dice Jehová de los ejércitos.

“Por isso, Jeremias, profetize todas essas palavras contra essas nações, dizendo: “O Senhor vai rugir do alto, da sua santa morada; ruge poderosamente contra todos os moradores da terra. Ele vai gritar como os homens que amassam as uvas nos tanques.
Tú pues, profetizarás á ellos todas estas palabras, y les dirás: Jehová bramará desde lo alto, y desde la morada de su santidad dará su voz: enfurecido bramará sobre su morada; canción de lagareros cantará contra todos los moradores de la tierra.
Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.

Esse grito de ameaça do Senhor será ouvido em todos os cantos da terra porque o Senhor vai julgar toda a humanidade: ele destruirá todos os pecadores”, diz o Senhor.
Llegó el estruendo hasta el cabo de la tierra; porque juicio de Jehová con las gentes: él es el Juez de toda carne; entregará los impíos á cuchillo, dice Jehová.
A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.
A noise will come even to the end of the earth; for the LORD has a controversy with the nations. He will enter into judgment with all flesh. As for the wicked, he will give them to the sword,”’ says the LORD.”
Assim diz o Senhor: “Vejam! O castigo está se espalhando de uma nação para outra. Vejam como uma grande tempestade está se formando desde os confins da terra”.
Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: He aquí que el mal sale de gente en gente, y grande tempestad se levantará de los fines de la tierra.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.
The LORD of Armies says, “Behold, evil will go out from nation to nation, and a great storm will be raised up from the uttermost parts of the earth.”
Naquele dia, as pessoas que o Senhor fizer morrer encherão todo o lugar, de um lado ao outro da terra. Ninguém vai chorar por elas; não haverá enterro para elas, mas servirão de adubo para a terra.
Y serán muertos de Jehová en aquel día desde el un cabo de la tierra hasta el otro cabo; no se endecharán, ni se recogerán, ni serán enterrados; como estiércol serán sobre la haz de la tierra.
And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.
The slain of the LORD will be at that day from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth. They won’t be lamented. They won’t be gathered or buried. They will be dung on the surface of the ground.
Chorem e gritem de dor, vocês, pastores! Vocês, líderes do rebanho, arrastem-se no meio das cinzas. Chegou a sua vez de serem destruídos, esmiuçados como vasos de porcelana.
Aullad, pastores, y clamad; y revolcaos en el polvo, mayorales del rebaño; porque cumplidos son vuestros días para ser vosotros degollados y esparcidos, y caeréis como vaso de codicia.
Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.
Wail, you shepherds, and cry. Wallow in dust, you leader of the flock; for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions have fully come, and you will fall like fine pottery.
Os pastores não encontrarão lugar para se esconderem. Não haverá salvação nem jeito de escapar para os chefes do rebanho.
Y acabaráse la huída de los pastores, y el escape de los mayorales del rebaño.
And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.
The shepherds will have no way to flee. The leader of the flock will have no escape.
Ouçam os gritos desesperados dos pastores, o lamento dos chefes do rebanho, porque o Senhor está destruindo as suas pastagens.
¡Voz de la grita de los pastores, y aullido de los mayorales del rebaño! porque Jehová asoló sus majadas.
A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.
A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and the wailing of the leader of the flock, for the LORD destroys their pasture.
Os povos que hoje vivem em paz e segurança serão destruídos por causa do fogo da ira do Senhor.
Y las majadas quietas serán taladas por el furor de la ira de Jehová.
And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
The peaceful folds are brought to silence because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
Ele saiu como um leão que deixa a sua toca à procura de alimento. A terra desses maus pastores será destruída pela espada do inimigo e por causa do fogo da ira do Senhor!
Dejó cual leoncillo su guarida; pues asolada fué la tierra de ellos por la ira del opresor, y por el furor de su saña.
He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.
He has left his covert, as the lion; for their land has become an astonishment because of the fierceness of the oppression, and because of his fierce anger.
