Jeremías 25

1Este es el mensaje que llegó a Jeremías en el cuarto año de Joaquín, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, que era el primer año de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia. Se refería a todo el pueblo de Judá.
2Entonces el profeta Jeremías fue y habló a todo el pueblo de Judá y a toda la gente que vivía en Jerusalén, diciéndoles
3Desde el año trece del reinado de Josías, hijo de Amón, rey de Judá, hasta ahora, veintitrés años en total, me han llegado mensajes del Señor, y les he dicho lo que él decía una y otra vez, pero ustedes no han escuchado.
4A pesar de que el Señor les ha enviado una y otra vez a todos sus siervos los profetas, ustedes no se molestan en escuchar ni en prestar atención.
5El mensaje constante ha sido: Dejen sus malos caminos y las cosas malas que están haciendo para que puedan vivir en el país que el Señor les ha dado a ustedes y a sus antepasados para siempre.
6No sigan a otros dioses ni los adoren, y no me enojen al construir ídolos. Entonces no haré nada que os perjudique.
7Pero ustedes se han perjudicado a sí mismos al no escucharme, declara el Señor, porque me enojaron haciendo ídolos.
8Así que esto es lo que dice el Señor Todopoderoso: Como no han obedecido lo que les dije,
9miren cómo convoco a todo el pueblo del norte, declara el Señor. Voy a enviar a mi siervo Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, para que ataque a este país y a la gente que vive aquí, y a todas las naciones de los alrededores. Los destinaré a la destrucción. Voy a destruirte totalmente, y la gente se horrorizará de lo que te ha ocurrido y se burlará de ti.
10También pondré fin a los sonidos alegres de la celebración y a las voces felices de los novios. No habrá ruido de las piedras de molino que se usen; no se encenderán las lámparas.
11Todo este país se convertirá en un páramo vacío, y Judá y estas otras naciones servirán al rey de Babilonia durante setenta años.
12Sin embargo, cuando terminen estos setenta años, voy a castigar al rey de Babilonia y a esa nación, el país de Babilonia, por su pecado, declara el Señor. Los destruiré por completo.
13Haré caer sobre ese país todo lo que he amenazado hacer, todo lo que está escrito en este libro que Jeremías profetizó contra todas las diferentes naciones.
14Muchas naciones y reyes poderosos se harán esclavos de ellos, de los babilonios, y yo les pagaré el mal que han hecho.
15Esto es lo que me dijo el Señor, el Dios de Israel: Toma esta copa que te entrego. Contiene el vino de mi ira. Debes hacer que todas las naciones que te envío beban de ella.
16Beberán y tropezarán y enloquecerán a causa de la guerra que traen los ejércitos que envío a atacarlos.
17Tomé la copa que el Señor me entregó e hice beber de ella a todas las naciones que me envió:
18a Jerusalén y a las ciudades de Judá, a sus reyes y a sus funcionarios, destruyéndolos de tal manera que la gente se horrorizaba de lo que les ocurría y se burlaba de ellos y los maldecía (y todavía hoy están así);
19al Faraón, rey de Egipto, y a sus funcionarios, dirigentes, a todo su pueblo
20y a todos los extranjeros que vivían allí; a todos los reyes del país de Uz; a todos los reyes de los filisteos: Ascalón, Gaza, Ecrón y lo que queda de Asdod;
21a Edom, Moab y los amonitas;
22a todos los reyes de Tiro y Sidón; a los reyes de la costa del mar Mediterráneo;
23a Dedán, Tema, Buz y a todos los que se recortan el pelo a los lados de la cabeza
24a todos los reyes de Arabia, y a todos los reyes de las diferentes tribus que viven en el desierto;
25a todos los reyes de Zimri, Elam y Media;
26a todos los reyes del norte; de hecho, a todos los reinos de la tierra, ya sean cercanos o lejanos, uno tras otro. Después de todos ellos, el rey de Babilonia la beberán también.
27Diles que esto es lo que dice el Señor Todopoderoso, el Dios de Israel: Bebed, emborrachaos y vomitad. A causa de la guerra morirán, cayendo para no volver a levantarse.
28Si se niegan a tomar la copa y a beber de ella, diles que esto es lo que dice el Señor Todopoderoso: No pueden evitar beberlo; tienen que hacerlo.
29¿No ves que estoy a punto de hacer caer el desastre sobre mi propia ciudad, así que realmente crees que no serás castigado también? No quedarás impune, porque estoy trayendo la guerra a todo el mundo en la tierra, declara el Señor Todopoderoso.
30Da todo este mensaje como una profecía contra ellos. Diles: El Señor tronará desde lo alto. Tronará con fuerza desde el lugar santo donde vive. Dará un gran rugido contra los rediles. Dará un fuerte grito como de gente que pisa las uvas, asustando a todos los que viven en la tierra.
31El sonido llegará a todos los rincones de la tierra porque el Señor está acusando a las naciones. Está juzgando a todos, ejecutando a los malvados, declara el Señor.
32Esto es lo que dice el Señor Todopoderoso: ¡Cuidado! El desastre está cayendo sobre una nación tras otra; una inmensa tormenta se está formando en la distancia.
33Los muertos por el Señor en ese momento cubrirán la tierra de un extremo a otro. Nadie los llorará, ni los recogerá, ni los enterrará. Serán como montones de estiércol tirados en el suelo.
34¡Griten y lloren, pastores! Arrástrense por el suelo con luto, jefes del rebaño. Ha llegado la hora de que los maten; caerán destrozados como la mejor cerámica.
35Los pastores no podrán huir; los jefes del rebaño no escaparán.
36Escuchen los gritos de los pastores, el llanto de los jefes del rebaño, porque el Señor está destruyendo sus pastos.
37Los pacíficos apriscos han sido arruinados por la feroz ira del Señor.
38El Señor ha salido de su guarida como un león, porque su país ha sido devastado por los ejércitos invasores, y a causa de la feroz ira del Señor.

1PALABRA que fué á Jeremías acerca de todo el pueblo de Judá en el año cuarto de Joacim hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, el cual es el año primero de Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia;
2La cual habló Jeremías profeta á todo el pueblo de Judá, y á todos los moradores de Jerusalem, diciendo:
3Desde el año trece de Josías hijo de Amón, rey de Judá, hasta este día, que son veintitrés años, fué á mí palabra de Jehová, y os he hablado, madrugando y dando aviso; mas no oisteis.
4Y envió Jehová á vosotros todos sus siervos los profetas, madrugando y enviándolos; mas no oisteis, ni inclinasteis vuestro oído para escuchar,
5Cuando decían: Volveos ahora de vuestro mal camino y de la maldad de vuestras obras, y morad en la tierra que os dió Jehová, á vosotros y á vuestros padres para siempre;
6Y no vayáis en pos de dioses ajenos, sirviéndoles y encorvándoos á ellos, ni me provoquéis á ira con la obra de vuestras manos; y no os haré mal.
7Empero no me habéis oído, dice Jehová, para provocarme á ira con la obra de vuestras manos para mal vuestro.
8Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Por cuanto no habéis oído mis palabras,
9He aquí enviaré yo, y tomaré todos los linajes del aquilón, dice Jehová, y á Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, mi siervo, y traerélos contra esta tierra, y contra sus moradores, y contra todas estas naciones en derredor; y los destruiré, y pondrélos por escarnio, y por silbo, y en soledades perpetuas.
10Y haré que perezca de entre ellos voz de gozo y voz de alegría, voz de desposado y voz de desposada, ruido de muelas, y luz de lámpara.
11Y toda esta tierra será puesta en soledad, en espanto; y servirán estas gentes al rey de Babilonia setenta años.
12Y será que, cuando fueren cumplidos los setenta años, visitaré sobre el rey de Babilonia y sobre aquella gente su maldad, ha dicho Jehová, y sobre la tierra de los Caldeos; y pondréla en desiertos para siempre.
13Y traeré sobre aquella tierra todas mis palabras que he hablado contra ella, con todo lo que está escrito en este libro, profetizado por Jeremías contra todas gentes.
14Porque se servirán también de ellos muchas gentes, y reyes grandes; y yo les pagaré conforme á sus hechos, y conforme á la obra de sus manos.
15Porque así me dijo Jehová Dios de Israel: Toma de mi mano el vaso del vino de este furor, y da á beber de él á todas las gentes á las cuales yo te envío.
16Y beberán, y temblarán, y enloquecerán delante del cuchillo que yo envío entre ellos.
17Y tomé el vaso de la mano de Jehová, y dí de beber á todas las gentes á las cuales me envió Jehová:
18A Jerusalem, á las ciudades de Judá, y á sus reyes, y á sus príncipes, para ponerlos en soledad, en escarnio, y en silbo, y en maldición, como este día;
19A Faraón rey de Egipto, y á sus siervos, á sus príncipes, y á todo su pueblo;
20Y á toda la mezcla de gente, y á todos los reyes de tierra de Hus, y á todos los reyes de tierra de Palestina, y á Ascalón, y Gaza, y Ecrón, y al residuo de Asdod;
21A Edom, y Moab, y á los hijos de Ammón;
22Y á todos los reyes de Tiro, y á todos los reyes de Sidón, y á los reyes de las islas que están de ese lado de la mar;
23Y á Dedán, y Tema, y Buz, y á todos los que están al cabo del mundo;
24Y á todos los reyes de Arabia, y á todos los reyes de pueblos mezclados que habitan en el desierto;
25Y á todos los reyes de Zimri, y á todos los reyes de Elam, y á todos los reyes de Media;
26Y á todos los reyes del aquilón, los de cerca y los de lejos, los unos con los otros; y á todos los reinos de la tierra que están sobre la haz de la tierra: y el rey de Sesach beberá después de ellos.
27Les dirás, pues: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Bebed, y embriagaos, y vomitad, y caed, y no os levantéis delante del cuchillo que yo envío entre vosotros.
28Y será que, si no quieren tomar el vaso de tu mano para beber, les dirás tú: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Habéis de beber.
29Porque he aquí, que á la ciudad sobre la cual es invocado mi nombre yo comienzo á hacer mal; ¿y vosotros seréis absueltos? No seréis absueltos: porque espada traigo sobre todos los moradores de la tierra, dice Jehová de los ejércitos.
30Tú pues, profetizarás á ellos todas estas palabras, y les dirás: Jehová bramará desde lo alto, y desde la morada de su santidad dará su voz: enfurecido bramará sobre su morada; canción de lagareros cantará contra todos los moradores de la tierra.
31Llegó el estruendo hasta el cabo de la tierra; porque juicio de Jehová con las gentes: él es el Juez de toda carne; entregará los impíos á cuchillo, dice Jehová.
32Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: He aquí que el mal sale de gente en gente, y grande tempestad se levantará de los fines de la tierra.
33Y serán muertos de Jehová en aquel día desde el un cabo de la tierra hasta el otro cabo; no se endecharán, ni se recogerán, ni serán enterrados; como estiércol serán sobre la haz de la tierra.
34Aullad, pastores, y clamad; y revolcaos en el polvo, mayorales del rebaño; porque cumplidos son vuestros días para ser vosotros degollados y esparcidos, y caeréis como vaso de codicia.
35Y acabaráse la huída de los pastores, y el escape de los mayorales del rebaño.
36¡Voz de la grita de los pastores, y aullido de los mayorales del rebaño! porque Jehová asoló sus majadas.
37Y las majadas quietas serán taladas por el furor de la ira de Jehová.
38Dejó cual leoncillo su guarida; pues asolada fué la tierra de ellos por la ira del opresor, y por el furor de su saña.

1The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;
2The which Jeremiah the prophet spake unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,
3From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.
4And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.
5They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:
6And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.
7Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.
8Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,
9Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.
10Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.
11And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
12And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.
13And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.
14For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.
15For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.
16And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.
17Then took I the cup at the LORD’s hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:
18To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;
19Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;
20And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,
21Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon,
22And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea,
23Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners,
24And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert,
25And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,
26And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.
27Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.
28And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.
29For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.
30Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
31A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.
32Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.
33And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.
34Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.
35And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.
36A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.
37And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
38He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.

1The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (this was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon),
2which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem:
3From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, these twenty-three years, the LORD’s word has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking; but you have not listened.
4The LORD has sent to you all his servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them (but you have not listened or inclined your ear to hear),
5saying, “Return now everyone from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD has given to you and to your fathers, from of old and even forever more.
6Don’t go after other gods to serve them or worship them, and don’t provoke me to anger with the work of your hands; then I will do you no harm.”
7“Yet you have not listened to me,” says the LORD, “that you may provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own hurt.”
8Therefore the LORD of Armies says: “Because you have not heard my words,
9behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,” says the LORD, “and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations around. I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.
10Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp.
11This whole land will be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
12“It will happen, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation,” says the LORD, “for their iniquity. I will make the land of the Chaldeans desolate forever.
13I will bring on that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah has prophesied against all the nations.
14For many nations and great kings will make bondservants of them, even of them. I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their hands.”
15For the LORD, the God of Israel, says to me: “Take this cup of the wine of wrath from my hand, and cause all the nations to whom I send you to drink it.
16They will drink, and reel back and forth, and be insane, because of the sword that I will send among them.”
17Then I took the cup at the LORD’s hand, and made all the nations to drink, to whom the LORD had sent me:
18Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, with its kings and its princes, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse, as it is today;
19Pharaoh king of Egypt, with his servants, his princes, and all his people;
20and all the mixed people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, all the kings of the Philistines, Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;
21Edom, Moab, and the children of Ammon;
22and all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the isle which is beyond the sea;
23Dedan, Tema, Buz, and all who have the corners of their beard cut off;
24and all the kings of Arabia, all the kings of the mixed people who dwell in the wilderness;
25and all the kings of Zimri, all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes;
26and all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another; and all the kingdoms of the world, which are on the surface of the earth. The king of Sheshach will drink after them.
27“You shall tell them, ‘The LORD of Armies, the God of Israel says: “Drink, and be drunk, vomit, fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.”’
28It shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at your hand to drink, then you shall tell them, ‘The LORD of Armies says: “You shall surely drink.
29For, behold, I begin to work evil at the city which is called by my name; and should you be utterly unpunished? You will not be unpunished; for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth, says the LORD of Armies.”’
30“Therefore prophesy against them all these words, and tell them, “‘The LORD will roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation. He will mightily roar against his fold. He will give a shout, as those who tread grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
31A noise will come even to the end of the earth; for the LORD has a controversy with the nations. He will enter into judgment with all flesh. As for the wicked, he will give them to the sword,”’ says the LORD.”
32The LORD of Armies says, “Behold, evil will go out from nation to nation, and a great storm will be raised up from the uttermost parts of the earth.”
33The slain of the LORD will be at that day from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth. They won’t be lamented. They won’t be gathered or buried. They will be dung on the surface of the ground.
34Wail, you shepherds, and cry. Wallow in dust, you leader of the flock; for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions have fully come, and you will fall like fine pottery.
35The shepherds will have no way to flee. The leader of the flock will have no escape.
36A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and the wailing of the leader of the flock, for the LORD destroys their pasture.
37The peaceful folds are brought to silence because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
38He has left his covert, as the lion; for their land has become an astonishment because of the fierceness of the oppression, and because of his fierce anger.
