En el principio del reinado de Joakim, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, me habló el Señor en estos términos:

Esto dice el Señor: Ponte en el atrio de la casa del Señor; y a todas las ciudades de Judá, cuyos moradores vienen a adorar en el templo del Señor, les anunciarás todo aquello que te he mandado decirles; no omitas ni una sola palabra,
Así ha dicho Jehová: Ponte en el atrio de la casa de Jehová, y habla á todas las ciudades de Judá, que vienen para adorar en la casa de Jehová, todas las palabras que yo te mandé les hablases; no retengas palabra.
Thus saith the LORD; Stand in the court of the LORD’s house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD’s house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them; diminish not a word:
“The LORD says: ‘Stand in the court of the LORD’s house, and speak to all the cities of Judah which come to worship in the LORD’s house, all the words that I command you to speak to them. Don’t omit a word.
a ver si acaso te escuchan, y se convierten de su mala vida; por lo cual me arrepienta yo o desista del castigo que medito enviarles por la malicia de sus procederes.
Quizá oirán, y se tornarán cada uno de su mal camino; y arrepentiréme yo del mal que pienso hacerles por la maldad de sus obras.
If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings.
It may be they will listen, and every man turn from his evil way, that I may relent from the evil which I intend to do to them because of the evil of their doings.’”
Tú, pues, les dirás: Esto dice el Señor: Si vosotros no me escuchareis, si no siguiereis la ley mía que yo os di,
Les dirás pues: Así ha dicho Jehová: Si no me oyereis para andar en mi ley, la cual dí delante de vosotros,
And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; If ye will not hearken to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you,
You shall tell them, “The LORD says: ‘If you will not listen to me, to walk in my law which I have set before you,
y no creyereis en las palabras de mis siervos los profetas que yo con tanta solicitud os envié, y dirigí a vosotros, y a quienes no habéis dado crédito,
Para atender á las palabras de mis siervos los profetas que yo os envío, madrugando en enviarlos, á los cuales no habéis oído;
To hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, but ye have not hearkened;
to listen to the words of my servants the prophets whom I send to you, even rising up early and sending them—but you have not listened—
yo haré con esta casa, o templo, lo que hice con Silo, y a esta ciudad la haré la execración de todas las naciones de la tierra.
Yo pondré esta casa como Silo, y daré esta ciudad en maldición á todas las gentes de la tierra.
Then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.

Oyeron los sacerdotes y los profetas y el pueblo todo cómo Jeremías anunciaba tales cosas en la casa del Señor.
Y los sacerdotes, los profetas, y todo el pueblo, oyeron á Jeremías hablar estas palabras en la casa de Jehová.
So the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the LORD.

Y así que hubo concluido Jeremías de hablar cuanto le había mandado el Señor que hiciese saber a todo el pueblo, la prendieron los sacerdotes y los falsos profetas, y el pueblo todo, diciendo: ¡Muera sin remedio!
Y fué que, acabando de hablar Jeremías todo lo que Jehová le había mandado que hablase á todo el pueblo, los sacerdotes y los profetas y todo el pueblo le echaron mano, diciendo: De cierto morirás.
Now it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the LORD had commanded him to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, Thou shalt surely die.

¿Cómo ha osado profetizar en el nombre del Señor, diciendo: Este templo será destruido como Silo, y esta ciudad quedará de tal manera asolada que no habrá quien la habite? Y todo el pueblo se amotinó contra Jeremías en la casa del Señor.
¿Por qué has profetizado en nombre de Jehová, diciendo: Esta casa será como Silo, y esta ciudad será asolada hasta no quedar morador? Y juntóse todo el pueblo contra Jeremías en la casa de Jehová.
Why hast thou prophesied in the name of the LORD, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate without an inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of the LORD.
Why have you prophesied in the LORD’s name, saying, ‘This house will be like Shiloh, and this city will be desolate, without inhabitant’?” All the people were crowded around Jeremiah in the LORD’s house.
Llegó esto a noticia de los príncipes de Judá, y pasaron desde el palacio del rey a la casa del Señor, y se sentaron en el tribunal que está a la entrada de la puerta nueva de la casa del Señor.
Y los príncipes de Judá oyeron estas cosas, y subieron de casa del rey á la casa de Jehová; y sentáronse en la entrada de la puerta nueva de Jehová.
When the princes of Judah heard these things, then they came up from the king’s house unto the house of the LORD, and sat down in the entry of the new gate of the LORD’s house.

Entonces los sacerdotes y los profetas hablaron a los príncipes y a toda la gente, diciendo: Este hombre es reo de muerte; porque ha profetizado contra esta ciudad, conforme vosotros mismos habéis oído.

Then spake the priests and the prophets unto the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy to die; for he hath prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears.

Pero Jeremías habló en estos términos a todos los príncipes y al pueblo todo: El Señor me ha enviado para que profetizara contra esta casa y contra esta ciudad todas las palabras que habéis oído.
Y habló Jeremías á todos los príncipes y á todo el pueblo, diciendo: Jehová me envió á que profetizase contra esta casa y contra esta ciudad, todas las palabras que habéis oído.
Then spake Jeremiah unto all the princes and to all the people, saying, The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that ye have heard.

Ahora, pues, enmendad vuestra vida, y purificad vuestras inclinaciones, y escuchad la voz del Señor Dios vuestro, y no dudéis que el Señor se arrepentirá o desistirá del castigo con que os ha amenazado.
Y ahora, mejorad vuestros caminos y vuestras obras, y oid la voz de Jehová vuestro Dios, y arrepentiráse Jehová del mal que ha hablado contra vosotros.
Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.

En cuanto a mí, en vuestras manos estoy; haced de mí lo que mejor os parezca y sea de vuestro agrado.
En lo que á mí toca, he aquí estoy en vuestras manos: haced de mí como mejor y más recto os pareciere.
As for me, behold, I am in your hand: do with me as seemeth good and meet unto you.
But as for me, behold, I am in your hand. Do with me what is good and right in your eyes.
Sabed, no obstante, y tened por cierto, que si me quitáis la vida, derramaréis la sangre inocente, y la haréis recaer sobre vosotros mismos, sobre esta ciudad y sobre sus habitantes; porque verdaderamente es el Señor el que me ha enviado a comunicar a vuestros oídos todas las estas palabras.
Mas sabed de cierto que, si me matareis, sangre inocente echaréis sobre vosotros, y sobre esta ciudad, y sobre sus moradores: porque en verdad Jehová me envió á vosotros para que dijese todas estas palabras en vuestros oídos.
But know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.
Only know for certain that if you put me to death, you will bring innocent blood on yourselves, on this city, and on its inhabitants; for in truth the LORD has sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears.”
Entonces los príncipes y todo el pueblo dijeron a los sacerdotes y a los profetas: No es este hombre reo de muerte, puesto que él nos ha predicado en nombre del Señor Dios nuestro.
Y dijeron los príncipes y todo el pueblo á los sacerdotes y profetas. No ha incurrido este hombre en pena de muerte, porque en nombre de Jehová nuestro Dios nos ha hablado.
Then said the princes and all the people unto the priests and to the prophets; This man is not worthy to die: for he hath spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.
Then the princes and all the people said to the priests and to the prophets: “This man is not worthy of death; for he has spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.”
Se levantaron luego algunos de los ancianos del país, y hablaron al pueblo de esta manera:
Entonces se levantaron ciertos de los ancianos de la tierra, y hablaron á toda la junta del pueblo, diciendo:
Then rose up certain of the elders of the land, and spake to all the assembly of the people, saying,

Miqueas, natural de Morasti, fue profeta en tiempo de Ezequías , rey de Judá, y predicó a todo el pueblo, diciendo: Esto dice el Señor de los ejércitos: Sión será arada como un barbecho, y Jerusalén parará en un montón de piedras, y el monte Moria, en que está situado el templo, será un espeso bosque.
Miqueas de Morasti profetizó en tiempo de Ezechîas rey de Judá, diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Sión será arada como campo, y Jerusalem vendrá á ser montones, y el monte del templo en cumbres de bosque.
Micah the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spake to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Zion shall be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.
“Micah the Morashtite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah; and he spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, ‘The LORD of Armies says: “‘Zion will be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem will become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.’
¿Fue por ventura Miqueas condenado a muerte por Ezequías , rey de Judá, y todo su pueblo? Al contrario ¿no temieron ellos al Señor e imploraron su clemencia, y el Señor se arrepintió o desistió de enviarles el castigo con que les había amenazado? Luego nosotros cometeríamos un gran pecado en daño de nuestras almas.
¿Matáronlo luego Ezechîas rey de Judá y todo Judá? ¿no temió á Jehová, y oró en presencia de Jehová, y Jehová se arrepintió del mal que había hablado contra ellos? ¿Haremos pues nosotros tan grande mal contra nuestras almas?
Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? did he not fear the LORD, and besought the LORD, and the LORD repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls.
Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him to death? Didn’t he fear the LORD, and entreat the favor of the LORD, and the LORD relented of the disaster which he had pronounced against them? We would commit great evil against our own souls that way!”
Hubo también un varón llamado Urías, hijo de Semei, natural de Cariatiarim, que profetizaba en el nombre del Señor, y profetizó contra esta ciudad y contra este país todo lo que ha dicho Jeremías.
Hubo también un hombre que profetizaba en nombre de Jehová, Urías, hijo de Semaías de Chîriath-jearim, el cual profetizó contra esta ciudad y contra esta tierra, conforme á todas las palabras de Jeremías:
And there was also a man that prophesied in the name of the LORD, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjath-jearim, who prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah:
There was also a man who prophesied in the LORD’s name, Uriah the son of Shemaiah of Kiriath Jearim; and he prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah.
Y habiendo oído el rey Joakim, y todos sus magnates y cortesanos lo que profetizaba, intentó el rey quitarle la vida. Lo supo Urías, y temió, y se escapó, y se refugió en Egipto.
Y oyó sus palabras el rey Joacim, y todos sus grandes, y todos sus príncipes, y el rey procuró de matarle; lo cual entendiendo Urías, tuvo temor, y huyó, y metióse en Egipto:
And when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death: but when Urijah heard it, he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt;

Y el rey Joakim envió a Egipto, para prenderlo, a Elnatán, hijo de Acobor, acompañado de otros hombres,

quienes sacaron a Urías de Egipto, y lo condujeron al rey Joakim; el cual lo mandó degollar y arrojar el cadáver en la sepultura de la ínfima plebe.
Los cuales sacaron á Urías de Egipto, y lo trajeron al rey Joacim, é hiriólo á cuchillo, y echó su cuerpo en los sepulcros del vulgo.
And they fetched forth Urijah out of Egypt, and brought him unto Jehoiakim the king; who slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.

El auxilio, pues, de Ahicam, hijo de Safán, protegió a Jeremías, para que no fuese entregado en manos del pueblo y le matasen.
La mano empero de Ahicam hijo de Saphán era con Jeremías, porque no lo entregasen en las manos del pueblo para matarlo.
Nevertheless the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.
