Ve y di en los oídos de Jerusalén: El Señor dice: Todavía guardo el recuerdo de tu corazón bondadoso cuando eras joven y tu amor cuando te convertiste en mi esposa; Cómo me perseguían en el desierto, en una tierra no sembrada.
Anda, y clama á los oídos de Jerusalem, diciendo: Así dice Jehová: Heme acordado de ti, de la misericordia de tu mocedad, del amor de tu desposorio, cuando andabas en pos de mí en el desierto, en tierra no sembrada.
Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.
“Go and proclaim in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, ‘The LORD says, “I remember for you the kindness of your youth, your love as a bride, how you went after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.
Israel era santo para el Señor, los primeros frutos de su cosecha; todos los que la comían fueron juzgados como malhechores, el mal vino sobre ellos, dice el Señor.
Santidad era Israel á Jehová, primicias de sus nuevos frutos. Todos los que le devoran pecarán; mal vendrá sobre ellos, dice Jehová.
Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD.
Israel was holiness to the LORD, the first fruits of his increase. All who devour him will be held guilty. Evil will come on them,”’ says the LORD.”
Escucha las palabras del Señor, hijos de Jacob y de todas las familias de Israel:

Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:

Estas son las palabras del Señor: ¿Qué mal han visto tus padres en mí que se han alejado de mí y que, andando en pos de lo falso, se han vuelto falsos?
Así dijo Jehová: ¿Qué maldad hallaron en mí vuestros padres, que se alejaron de mí, y se fueron tras la vanidad, y tornáronse vanos?
Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?
The LORD says, “What unrighteousness have your fathers found in me, that they have gone far from me, and have walked after worthless vanity, and have become worthless?
Y nunca dijeron: ¿Dónde está el Señor, que nos sacó de la tierra de Egipto? ¿Quién fue nuestro guía a través del desierto, a través de una tierra sin sembradíos, llena de barrancos, a través de una tierra seca, valle de sombras tenebrosas, que nadie atravesó y donde ningún hombre vivía?
Y no dijeron: ¿Dónde está Jehová, que nos hizo subir de tierra de Egipto, que nos hizo andar por el desierto, por una tierra desierta y despoblada, por tierra seca y de sombra de muerte, por una tierra por la cual no pasó varón, ni allí habitó hombre?
Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?
They didn’t say, ‘Where is the LORD who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, who led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought and of the shadow of death, through a land that no one passed through, and where no man lived?’
Y te llevé a una tierra fértil, donde estabas viviendo de su fruto y su riqueza; pero cuando entraste, dejaste mi tierra inmunda, e hiciste de mi herencia algo asqueroso.
Y os metí en tierra de Carmelo, para que comieseis su fruto y su bien: mas entrasteis, y contaminasteis mi tierra, é hicisteis mi heredad abominable.
And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.

Los sacerdotes no dijeron: ¿Dónde está el Señor? y aquellos que eran expertos en la ley no me conocían, y los gobernantes hicieron lo malo contra mí, y los profetas se convirtieron en profetas de Baal, yendo tras cosas sin valor.
Los sacerdotes no dijeron: ¿Dónde está Jehová? y los que tenían la ley no me conocieron; y los pastores se rebelaron contra mí, y los profetas profetizaron en Baal, y anduvieron tras lo que no aprovecha.
The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.
The priests didn’t say, ‘Where is the LORD?’ and those who handle the law didn’t know me. The rulers also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal and followed things that do not profit.
Por esta razón, volveré a presentar mi causa contra ti, dice el Señor, incluso contra ti y contra los hijos de tus hijos.
Por tanto entraré aún en juicio con vosotros, dijo Jehová, y con los hijos de vuestros hijos pleitearé.
Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children’s children will I plead.
“Therefore I will yet contend with you,” says the LORD, “and I will contend with your children’s children.
Pues ve a las costas de Quitim y vean; envía a Cedar y reflexiona profundamente sobre ello; y vean si alguna vez ha habido tal cosa.
Porque pasad á las islas de Chîttim y mirad; y enviad á Cedar, y considerad cuidadosamente, y ved si se ha hecho cosa semejante á ésta:
For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing.
For pass over to the islands of Kittim, and see. Send to Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there has been such a thing.
¿Alguna nación ha hecho algún cambio en sus dioses, aunque no sean dioses? pero mi gente ha renunciado a su gloria a cambio de lo que no tiene ningún beneficio.
Si alguna gente ha mudado sus dioses, bien que ellos no son dioses. Pero mi pueblo ha trocado su gloria por lo que no aprovecha.
Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.
Has a nation changed its gods, which really are no gods? But my people have changed their glory for that which doesn’t profit.
Espantate, oh cielos, de esto; se vencido por el miedo, se completamente desolado, dice el Señor.
Espantaos, cielos, sobre esto, y horrorizaos; desolaos en gran manera, dijo Jehová.
Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.
“Be astonished, you heavens, at this and be horribly afraid. Be very desolate,” says the LORD.
Porque mi pueblo ha hecho dos males; Me han dejado a mí, la fuente de las aguas vivas, y han cavado cisternas, cisternas agrietadas que no sostienen el agua.
Porque dos males ha hecho mi pueblo: dejáronme á mí, fuente de agua viva, por cavar para sí cisternas, cisternas rotas que no detienen aguas.
For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
“For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the spring of living waters, and cut out cisterns for themselves: broken cisterns that can’t hold water.
¿Es Israel un siervo? ¿Ha sido criado desde el nacimiento? ¿Por qué se le han saqueado?
¿Es Israel siervo? ¿es esclavo? ¿por qué ha sido dado en presa?
Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn slave? why is he spoiled?
Is Israel a slave? Is he born into slavery? Why has he become a captive?
Los leoncillos hicieron un clamor contra él en voz alta; han hecho su tierra una desolación; sus ciudades están quemadas, y nadie vive en ellas.
Los cachorros de los leones bramaron sobre él, dieron su voz; y pusieron su tierra en soledad; quemadas están sus ciudades, sin morador.
The young lions roared upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant.
The young lions have roared at him and raised their voices. They have made his land waste. His cities are burned up, without inhabitant.
Incluso los hijos de Nof y Tafnes te rompió la cabeza.
Aun los hijos de Noph y de Taphnes te quebrantaron la mollera.
Also the children of Noph and Tahapanes have broken the crown of thy head.
The children also of Memphis and Tahpanhes have broken the crown of your head.
¿No te ha llegado esto porque has abandonado al Señor tu Dios, quien fue tu guía por el camino?
¿No te acarreó esto tu dejar á Jehová tu Dios, cuando te hacía andar por camino?
Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, when he led thee by the way?
“Haven’t you brought this on yourself, in that you have forsaken the LORD your God, when he led you by the way?
Y ahora, ¿qué tienes que hacer en el camino a Egipto para obtener tu bebida de las aguas del Nilo? ¿O qué tienes que hacer en el camino a Asiria, para obtener tu bebida de las aguas del río?
Ahora pues, ¿qué tienes tú en el camino de Egipto, para que bebas agua del Nilo? ¿y qué tienes tú en el camino de Asiria, para que bebas agua del río?
And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river?
Now what do you gain by going to Egypt, to drink the waters of the Shihor? Or why do you go on the way to Assyria, to drink the waters of the River?
El mal y rebeldía que ustedes mismos hicieron será su castigo, sus errores serán su juez; tengan la certeza entonces, y asegúrense de que es una cosa mala y amarga renunciar al Señor su Dios, y no tener temor de mí, dice el Señor, el Señor de los ejércitos.
Tu maldad te castigará, y tu apartamiento te condenará: sabe pues y ve cuán malo y amargo es tu dejar á Jehová tu Dios, y faltar mi temor en ti, dice el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos.
Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
“Your own wickedness will correct you, and your backsliding will rebuke you. Know therefore and see that it is an evil and bitter thing, that you have forsaken the LORD your God, and that my fear is not in you,” says the Lord, GOD of Armies.
Porque en el pasado, tu yugo fue roto por tus manos y tus cuerdas separadas; Y dijiste: No seré tu siervo; pues en cada colina alta y debajo de cada árbol ramificado, tu comportamiento era como el de una mujer suelta.
Porque desde muy atrás he quebrado tu yugo, y roto tus ataduras; y dijiste: No serviré. Con todo eso, sobre todo collado alto y debajo de todo árbol umbroso, corrías tú, oh ramera.
For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.
“For long ago I broke off your yoke, and burst your bonds. You said, ‘I will not serve;’ for on every high hill and under every green tree you bowed yourself, playing the prostitute.
Pero cuando te planté yo, eras una vid noble, en todos los sentidos, una verdadera semilla: ¿cómo, entonces, has sido transformado en la planta ramificada de una vid extraña?
Y yo te planté de buen vidueño, simiente verdadera toda ella: ¿cómo pues te me has tornado sarmientos de vid extraña?
Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?
Yet I had planted you a noble vine, a pure and faithful seed. How then have you turned into the degenerate branches of a foreign vine to me?
Porque aun si te lavas con lejía y uses mucho jabón, tu maldad está marcada delante de mí, dice el Señor Dios.
Aunque te laves con lejía, y amontones jabón sobre ti, tu pecado está sellado delante de mí, dijo el Señor Jehová.
For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord GOD.
For though you wash yourself with lye, and use much soap, yet your iniquity is marked before me,” says the Lord GOD.
¿Cómo puedes decir: no soy inmundo, que no he ido tras los baales? ve en el valle, ten en claro lo que has hecho; eres una camella joven de patas rápidas que se retuerce hacia adentro y hacia afuera;
¿Cómo dices: No soy inmunda, nunca anduve tras los Baales? Mira tu proceder en el valle, conoce lo que has hecho, dromedaria ligera que frecuentas sus carreras;
How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways;
“How can you say, ‘I am not defiled. I have not gone after the Baals’? See your way in the valley. Know what you have done. You are a swift dromedary traversing her ways,
Un asno salvaje, acostumbrado a la tierra desolada, jadeante de deseo; En su momento, ¿quién la detendrá? todos aquellos que la buscan no tendrán que cansarse; en su mes de celo la tendrán.
Asna montés acostumbrada al desierto, que respira como quiere; ¿de su ocasión quién la detendrá? Todos los que la buscaren no se cansarán; hallaránla en su mes.
A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.
a wild donkey used to the wilderness, that sniffs the wind in her craving. When she is in heat, who can turn her away? All those who seek her will not weary themselves. In her month, they will find her.
No dejes que tu pie se quede sin zapatos, o que tu garganta tenga sed, pero dijiste: No hay esperanza; no, porque he sido amante de dioses extraños, y tras de ellos iré.
Defiende tus pies de andar descalzos, y tu garganta de la sed. Mas dijiste: Hase perdido la esperanza; en ninguna manera: porque extraños he amado, y tras ellos tengo de ir.
Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go.
“Keep your feet from being bare, and your throat from thirst. But you said, ‘It is in vain. No, for I have loved strangers, and I will go after them.’
Como el ladrón se avergüenza cuando lo descubren, así también es avergonzado Israel; ellos, sus reyes y sus gobernantes, sus sacerdotes y sus profetas;
Como se avergüenza el ladrón cuando es tomado, así se avergonzarán la casa de Israel, ellos, sus reyes, sus príncipes, sus sacerdotes, y sus profetas;
As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets,

Que dicen a un árbol: Tú eres mi padre; y a una piedra, me has dado vida, porque me han dado la espalda, no sus rostros, sino que en el tiempo de su problema dirán: ¡Levántate! y sé nuestro salvador.
Que dicen al leño: Mi padre eres tú; y á la piedra: Tú me has engendrado: pues me volvieron la cerviz, y no el rostro; y en el tiempo de su trabajo dicen: Levántate, y líbranos.
Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.
who tell wood, ‘You are my father,’ and a stone, ‘You have given birth to me,’ for they have turned their back to me, and not their face, but in the time of their trouble they will say, ‘Arise, and save us!’
Pero, ¿dónde están los dioses que has hecho para ustedes mismos? que vengan, si son capaces de darte la salvación en el tiempo de tu problema; porque el número de tus dioses es como el número de tus pueblos, oh Judá.
¿Y dónde están tus dioses que hiciste para ti? Levántense, á ver si te podrán librar en el tiempo de tu aflicción: porque según el número de tus ciudades, oh Judá, fueron tus dioses.
But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.
“But where are your gods that you have made for yourselves? Let them arise, if they can save you in the time of your trouble, for you have as many gods as you have towns, O Judah.
¿Por qué presentarás tu causa contra mí? Todos han hecho mal contra mí, dice el Señor.
¿Por qué porfías conmigo? Todos vosotros prevaricasteis contra mí, dice Jehová.
Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye all have transgressed against me, saith the LORD.
“Why will you contend with me? You all have transgressed against me,” says the LORD.
Le di a tus hijos golpes sin ningún propósito; no obtuvieron ningún beneficio de la corrección: tu espada ha sido la destrucción de tus profetas, como un león que da muerte.
Por demás he azotado vuestros hijos; no han recibido corrección. Cuchillo devoró vuestros profetas como león destrozador.
In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.
“I have struck your children in vain. They received no correction. Your own sword has devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.
Oh generación, atiendan la palabra del Señor. ¿He sido una tierra desierta para Israel? ¿O una tierra de noche densa oscuridad? ¿Por qué mi gente dice: vaguemos libremente, no volveremos a ti?
¡Oh generación! ved vosotros la palabra de Jehová. ¿He sido yo á Israel soledad, ó tierra de tinieblas? ¿Por qué ha dicho mi pueblo: Señores somos; nunca más vendremos á ti?
O generation, see ye the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee?
Generation, consider the LORD’s word. Have I been a wilderness to Israel? Or a land of thick darkness? Why do my people say, ‘We have broken loose. We will come to you no more’?
¿Es posible que una virgen saque de su memoria sus adornos, o una novia, sus ropas? pero mi gente me ha sacado de sus recuerdos por días innumerables.
¿Olvídase la virgen de su atavío, ó la desposada de sus sartales? mas mi pueblo se ha olvidado de mí por días que no tienen número.
Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.
“Can a virgin forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet my people have forgotten me for days without number.
¡Con qué cuidado están ordenados tus caminos cuando buscas amor! así que a las malvadas les enseñas tus caminos.
¿Por qué abonas tu camino para hallar amor, pues aun á las malvadas enseñaste tus caminos?
Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways.
How well you prepare your way to seek love! Therefore you have even taught the wicked women your ways.
Y en las faldas de tu túnica puede verse la sangre vital de aquellos que no han hecho nada malo:
Aun en tus faldas se halló la sangre de las almas de los pobres, de los inocentes: no la hallé en excavación, sino en todas estas cosas.
Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these.
Also the blood of the souls of the innocent poor is found in your skirts. You didn’t find them breaking in, but it is because of all these things.
Y aun así dijiste: No he hecho nada malo; En verdad, su ira se aleja de mí. Mira, tomaré la causa en tu contra, porque dices, no he hecho nada malo.
Y dices: Porque soy inocente, de cierto su ira se apartó de mí. He aquí yo entraré en juicio contigo, porque dijiste: No he pecado.
Yet thou sayest, Because I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will plead with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned.
“Yet you said, ‘I am innocent. Surely his anger has turned away from me.’ “Behold, I will judge you, because you say, ‘I have not sinned.’
¿Por qué haces tantas cosas con el propósito de cambiar tu camino? serás avergonzada a causa de Egipto, como te avergonzarán a causa de Asiria.
¿Para qué discurres tanto, mudando tus caminos? También serás avergonzada de Egipto, como fuiste avergonzada de Asiria.
Why gaddest thou about so much to change thy way? thou also shalt be ashamed of Egypt, as thou wast ashamed of Assyria.
Why do you go about so much to change your ways? You will be ashamed of Egypt also, as you were ashamed of Assyria.
En verdad, saldrás de él con las manos sobre la cabeza: porque el Señor ha desechado aquellos en quienes has puesto tu fe, y no te servirán de nada.
También saldrás de él con tus manos sobre tu cabeza: porque Jehová deshechó tus confianzas, y en ellas no tendrás buen suceso.
Yea, thou shalt go forth from him, and thine hands upon thine head: for the LORD hath rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not prosper in them.
You will also leave that place with your hands on your head; for the LORD has rejected those in whom you trust, and you won’t prosper with them.
