23Vinieron nuestros antepasados, la conquistaron y vivieron en ella, pero se negaron a obedecerte y a cumplir tus instrucciones. No han hecho casi ninguna de las cosas que les ordenaste, por eso les has enviado este espantoso mal.

23And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them:
