Jeremías 35

1La parola che fu rivolta a Geremia dall’Eterno, al tempo di Joiakim, figliuolo di Giosia, re di Giuda, in questi termini:
2“Va’ alla casa dei Recabiti, e parla loro; menali nella casa dell’Eterno, in una delle camere, e offri loro del vino da bere”.
3Allora io presi Jaazania, figliuolo di Geremia, figliuolo di Habazzinia, i suoi fratelli, tutti i suoi figliuoli e tutta la casa dei Recabiti,
4e li menai nella casa dell’Eterno, nella camera de’ figliuoli di Hanan, figliuolo d’Igdalia, uomo di Dio, la quale era presso alla camera de’ capi, sopra la camera di Maaseia, figliuolo di Shallum, guardiano della soglia;
5e misi davanti ai figliuoli della casa dei Recabiti dei vasi pieni di vino e delle coppe, e dissi loro: “Bevete del vino”.
6Ma quelli risposero: “Noi non beviamo vino; perché Gionadab, figliuolo di Recab, nostro padre, ce l’ha proibito, dicendo: Non berrete mai in perpetuo vino, né voi né i vostri figliuoli;
7e non edificherete case, non seminerete alcuna semenza, non pianterete vigne, e non ne possederete alcuna, ma abiterete in tende tutti i giorni della vostra vita, affinché viviate lungamente nel paese dove state come forestieri.
8E noi abbiamo ubbidito alla voce di Gionadab, figliuolo di Recab, nostro padre, in tutto quello che ci ha comandato: non beviamo vino durante tutti i nostri giorni, tanto noi, che le nostre mogli, i nostri figliuoli e le nostre figliuole;
9non edifichiamo case per abitarvi, non abbiamo vigna, campo, né sementa;
10abitiamo in tende, e abbiamo ubbidito e fatto tutto quello che Gionadab, nostro padre, ci ha comandato.
11Ma quando Nebucadnetsar, re di Babilonia, è salito contro il paese, abbiam detto: Venite, ritiriamoci a Gerusalemme, per paura dell’esercito dei Caldei e dell’esercito di Siria. E così ci siamo stabiliti a Gerusalemme”.
12Allora la parola dell’Eterno fu rivolta a Geremia in questi termini:
13“Così parla l’Eterno degli eserciti, l’Iddio d’Israele: Va’ e di’ agli uomini di Giuda e agli abitanti di Gerusalemme: Non riceverete voi dunque la lezione, imparando ad ubbidire alle mie parole? dice l’Eterno.
14Le parole di Gionadab, figliuolo di Recab, che comandò ai suoi figliuoli di non bever vino, sono state messe ad effetto, ed essi fino al dì d’oggi non hanno bevuto vino, in ubbidienza all’ordine del padre loro; e io v’ho parlato, parlato fin dal mattino, e voi non m’avete dato ascolto;
15ho continuato a mandarvi ogni mattina tutti i miei servitori i profeti per dirvi: Convertitevi dunque ciascuno dalla sua via malvagia, emendate le vostre azioni, non andate dietro ad altri dèi per servirli, e abiterete nel paese che ho dato a voi ed ai vostri padri; ma voi non avete prestato orecchio, e non m’avete ubbidito.
16Sì, i figliuoli di Gionadab, figliuolo di Recab, hanno messo ad effetto l’ordine dato dal padre loro, ma questo popolo non mi ha ubbidito!
17Perciò, così parla l’Eterno, l’Iddio degli eserciti, l’Iddio d’Israele: Ecco, io faccio venire su Giuda e su tutti gli abitanti di Gerusalemme tutto il male che ho pronunziato contro di loro, perché ho parlato loro, ed essi non hanno ascoltato; perché li ho chiamati, ed essi non hanno risposto”.
18E alla casa dei Recabiti Geremia disse: “Così parla l’Eterno degli eserciti, l’Iddio d’Israele: Poiché avete ubbidito all’ordine di Gionadab, vostro padre, e avete osservato tutti i suoi precetti, e avete fatto tutto quello ch’egli vi avea prescritto,
19così parla l’Eterno degli eserciti, l’Iddio d’Israele: A Gionadab, figliuolo di Recab, non verranno mai meno in perpetuo discendenti, che stiano davanti alla mia faccia”.

1PALABRA que fué á Jeremías de Jehová en días de Joacim hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, diciendo:
2Ve á casa de los Rechâbitas, y habla con ellos, é introdúcelos en la casa de Jehová, en una de las cámaras, y dales á beber vino.
3Tomé entonces á Jaazanías hijo de Jeremías, hijo de Habassinías, y á sus hermanos, y á todos sus hijos, y á toda la familia de los Rechâbitas;
4Y metílos en la casa de Jehová, en la cámara de los hijos de Hanán, hijo de Igdalías, varón de Dios, la cual estaba junto á la cámara de los príncipes, que estaba sobre la cámara de Maasías hijo de Sallum, guarda de los vasos.
5Y puse delante de los hijos de la familia de los Rechâbitas tazas y copas llenas de vino, y díjeles: Bebed vino.
6Mas ellos dijeron: No beberemos vino; porque Jonadab hijo de Rechâb nuestro padre nos mandó, diciendo: No beberéis jamás vino vosotros ni vuestros hijos:
7Ni edificaréis casa, ni sembraréis sementera, ni plantaréis viña, ni la tendréis: mas moraréis en tiendas todos vuestros días, para que viváis muchos días sobre la haz de la tierra donde vosotros peregrináis.
8Y nosotros hemos obedecido á la voz de Jonadab nuestro padre, hijo de Rechâb, en todas las cosas que nos mandó, de no beber vino en todos nuestros días, nosotros, ni nuestras mujeres, ni nuestros hijos, ni nuestras hijas;
9Y de no edificar casas para nuestra morada, y de no tener viña, ni heredad, ni sementera.
10Moramos pues en tiendas, y hemos obedecido y hecho conforme á todas las cosas que nos mandó Jonadab nuestro padre.
11Sucedió, empero, que cuando Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia subió á la tierra, dijimos: Venid, y entrémonos en Jerusalem, de delante del ejército de los Caldeos y de delante del ejército de los de Siria: y en Jerusalem nos quedamos.
12Y fué palabra de Jehová á Jeremías, diciendo:
13Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Ve, y di á los varones de Judá, y á los moradores de Jerusalem: ¿No recibiréis instrucción para obedecer á mis palabras? dice Jehová.
14Fué firme la palabra de Jonadab hijo de Rechâb, el cual mandó á sus hijos que no bebiesen vino, y no lo han bebido hasta hoy, por obedecer al mandamiento de su padre; y yo os he hablado á vosotros, madrugando y hablando, y no me habéis oído.
15Y envié á vosotros á todos mis siervos los profetas, madrugando y enviándolos á decir: Tornaos ahora cada uno de su mal camino, y enmendad vuestras obras, y no vayáis tras dioses ajenos para servirles, y viviréis en la tierra que dí á vosotros y á vuestros padres: mas no inclinasteis vuestro oído, ni me oísteis.
16Ciertamente los hijos de Jonadab, hijo de Rechâb, tuvieron por firme el mandamiento que les dió su padre; mas este pueblo no me ha obedecido.
17Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová Dios de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: He aquí traeré yo sobre Judá y sobre todos los moradores de Jerusalem todo el mal que contra ellos he hablado: porque les hablé, y no oyeron; llamélos, y no han respondido.
18Y dijo Jeremías á la familia de los Rechâbitas: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Porque obedecisteis al mandamiento de Jonadab vuestro padre, y guardasteis todos sus mandamientos, é hicisteis conforme á todas las cosas que os mandó;
19Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: No faltará varón de Jonadab, hijo de Rechâb, que esté en mi presencia todos los días.

1The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,
2Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.
3Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;
4And I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door:
5And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink ye wine.
6But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever:
7Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers.
8Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;
9Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed:
10But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
11But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem.
12Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,
13Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the LORD.
14The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father’s commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me.
15I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.
16Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them; but this people hath not hearkened unto me:
17Therefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered.
18And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you:
19Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.

3Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habazziniah, with his brothers, all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;
4and I brought them into the LORD’s house, into the room of the sons of Hanan the son of Igdaliah, the man of God, which was by the room of the princes, which was above the room of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the threshold.
5I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites bowls full of wine, and cups; and I said to them, “Drink wine!”
6But they said, “We will drink no wine; for Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, commanded us, saying, ‘You shall drink no wine, neither you nor your children, forever.
7You shall not build a house, sow seed, plant a vineyard, or have any; but all your days you shall dwell in tents, that you may live many days in the land in which you live as nomads.’
8We have obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, in all that he commanded us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, or our daughters;
9and not to build houses for ourselves to dwell in. We have no vineyard, field, or seed;
10but we have lived in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
11But when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, we said, ‘Come! Let’s go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians; so we will dwell at Jerusalem.’”
12Then the LORD’s word came to Jeremiah, saying,

14“The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab that he commanded his sons, not to drink wine, are performed; and to this day they drink none, for they obey their father’s commandment; but I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking, and you have not listened to me.
15I have sent also to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, ‘Every one of you must return now from his evil way, amend your doings, and don’t go after other gods to serve them. Then you will dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers;’ but you have not inclined your ear, nor listened to me.
16The sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father which he commanded them, but this people has not listened to me.”’
17“Therefore the LORD, the God of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Behold, I will bring on Judah and on all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them, because I have spoken to them, but they have not heard; and I have called to them, but they have not answered.’”
18Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites, “The LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according to all that he commanded you,’
19therefore the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Jonadab the son of Rechab will not lack a man to stand before me forever.’”
