Pourtant Elnathan, Dalaïas et Gamarias avaient fait des instances auprès du roi pour qu'il ne brûlât pas le volume ; mais il ne les avait pas écoutés.

Y aunque Elnathán y Delaías y Gemarías rogaron al rey que no quemase aquel rollo, no los quiso oir:

Nevertheless Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the roll: but he would not hear them.
