Jeremías 38

Mais Séphatia fils de Mattan, et Guédalia fils de Pashur, et Jucal fils de Sélemja, et Pashur fils de Malkija, entendirent les paroles que Jérémie prononçait à tout le peuple, en disant :

Y OYÓ Sephatías hijo de Mathán, y Gedalías hijo de Pashur, y Jucal hijo de Selemías, y Pashur hijo de Melchîas, las palabras que Jeremías hablaba á todo el pueblo, diciendo:

Then Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashur the son of Malchiah, heard the words that Jeremiah had spoken unto all the people, saying,

Shephatiah the son of Mattan, Gedaliah the son of Pashhur, Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur the son of Malchijah heard the words that Jeremiah spoke to all the people, saying,

Ainsi a dit l’Eternel : celui qui demeurera dans cette ville mourra par l’épée, par la famine, ou par la mortalité, mais celui qui sortira vers les Caldéens vivra, et son âme lui sera pour butin, et il vivra.

Así ha dicho Jehová: El que se quedare en esta ciudad morirá á cuchillo, ó de hambre, ó de pestilencia; mas el que saliere á los Caldeos vivirá, pues su vida le será por despojo, y vivirá.

Thus saith the LORD, He that remaineth in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth forth to the Chaldeans shall live; for he shall have his life for a prey, and shall live.

“The LORD says, ‘He who remains in this city will die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, but he who goes out to the Chaldeans will live. He will escape with his life and he will live.’

Ainsi a dit l’Eternel : cette ville sera livrée certainement à l’armée du Roi de Babylone, et il la prendra.

Así ha dicho Jehová: De cierto será entregada esta ciudad en mano del ejército del rey de Babilonia, y tomarála.

Thus saith the LORD, This city shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon’s army, which shall take it.

The LORD says, ‘This city will surely be given into the hand of the army of the king of Babylon, and he will take it.’”

Et les principaux dirent au Roi : qu’on fasse mourir cet homme ; car par ce moyen il rend lâches les mains des hommes de guerre qui sont demeurés de reste dans cette ville, et les mains de tout le peuple, en leur disant de telles paroles ; parce que cet homme ne cherche point la prospérité de ce peuple, mais le mal.

Y dijeron los príncipes al rey: Muera ahora este hombre; porque de esta manera hace desmayar las manos de los hombres de guerra que han quedado en esta ciudad, y las manos de todo el pueblo, hablándoles tales palabras; porque este hombre no busca la paz de este pueblo, sino el mal.

Therefore the princes said unto the king, We beseech thee, let this man be put to death: for thus he weakeneth the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeketh not the welfare of this people, but the hurt.

Then the princes said to the king, “Please let this man be put to death, because he weakens the hands of the men of war who remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words to them; for this man doesn’t seek the welfare of this people, but harm.”

Et le Roi Sédécias dit : voici, il est entre vos mains ; car le Roi ne peut rien par dessus vous.

Y dijo el rey Sedechîas: Helo ahí, en vuestras manos está; que el rey no podrá contra vosotros nada.

Then Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand: for the king is not he that can do any thing against you.

Zedekiah the king said, “Behold, he is in your hand; for the king can’t do anything to oppose you.”

Ils prirent donc Jérémie, et le jetèrent dans la fosse de Malkija, fils de Hammélec, laquelle était dans la cour de la prison, et ils descendirent Jérémie avec des cordes dans cette fosse où il n’y avait point d’eau, mais de la boue ; et ainsi Jérémie enfonça dans la boue.

Entonces tomaron ellos á Jeremías, é hiciéronlo echar en la mazmorra de Malchîas hijo de Amelech, que estaba en el patio de la cárcel; y metieron á Jeremías con sogas. Y en la mazmorra no había agua, sino cieno; y hundióse Jeremías en el cieno.

Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so Jeremiah sunk in the mire.

Then they took Jeremiah and threw him into the dungeon of Malchijah the king’s son, that was in the court of the guard. They let down Jeremiah with cords. In the dungeon there was no water, but mire; and Jeremiah sank in the mire.

Mais Hebed-mélec Cusien, Eunuque, qui était dans la maison du Roi, apprit qu’ils avaient mis Jérémie dans cette fosse ; et le Roi était assis à la porte de Benjamin.

Y oyendo Ebed-melec, hombre etiope, eunuco que estaba en casa del rey, que habían puesto á Jeremías en la mazmorra, y estando sentado el rey á la puerta de Benjamín,

Now when Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs which was in the king’s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin;

Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, a eunuch, who was in the king’s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon (the king was then sitting in Benjamin’s gate),

Et Hebed-mélec sortit de la maison du Roi, et parla au Roi, en disant :

Ebed-melec salió de la casa del rey, y habló al rey, diciendo:

Ebed-melech went forth out of the king’s house, and spake to the king, saying,

Ebedmelech went out of the king’s house, and spoke to the king, saying,

Ô Roi mon Seigneur ! ces hommes-là ont mal fait dans tout ce qu’ils ont fait contre Jérémie le Prophète, en le jetant dans la fosse, car il serait déjà mort de faim dans le lieu où il était, parce qu’il n’ y a plus de pain dans la ville.

Mi señor el rey, mal hicieron estos varones en todo lo que han hecho con Jeremías profeta, al cual hicieron echar en la mazmorra; porque allí se morirá de hambre, pues no hay más pan en la ciudad.

My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city.

“My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon. He is likely to die in the place where he is, because of the famine; for there is no more bread in the city.”

C’est pourquoi le Roi commanda à Hebed-mélec Cusien, en disant : prends d’ici trente hommes sous ta conduite, et fais remonter hors de la fosse Jérémie le Prophète, avant qu’il meure.

Entonces mandó el rey al mismo Ebed-melec Etiope, diciendo: Toma en tu poder treinta hombres de aquí, y haz sacar á Jeremías profeta de la mazmorra, antes que muera.

Then the king commanded Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, Take from hence thirty men with thee, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he die.

Then the king commanded Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, “Take from here thirty men with you, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he dies.”

Hebed-mélec donc prit ces hommes sous sa conduite, et entra dans la maison du Roi au lieu qui est sous la Trésorerie, d’où il prit de vieux lambeaux et de vieux haillons, et les descendit avec des cordes à Jérémie dans la fosse ;

Y tomó Ebed-melec en su poder hombres, y entró á la casa del rey al lugar debajo de la tesorería, y tomó de allí trapos viejos, traídos, viejos, y andrajosos, y echólos á Jeremías con sogas en la mazmorra.

So Ebed-melech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence old cast clouts and old rotten rags, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.

So Ebedmelech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took from there rags and worn-out garments, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.

Et Hebed-mélec Cusien dit à Jérémie : mets ces vieux lambeaux et ces haillons sous les aisselles de tes bras, au dessous des cordes ; et Jérémie fit ainsi.

Y dijo Ebed-melec Etiope á Jeremías: Pon ahora esos trapos viejos, traídos, y rotos, bajo los sobacos de tus brazos, debajo de las sogas. Y lo hizo así Jeremías.

And Ebed-melech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, Put now these old cast clouts and rotten rags under thine armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so.

Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said to Jeremiah, “Now put these rags and worn-out garments under your armpits under the cords.” Jeremiah did so.

Ainsi ils tirèrent Jérémie dehors avec les cordes, et le firent remonter hors de la fosse ; et Jérémie demeura dans la cour de la prison.

De este modo sacaron á Jeremías con sogas, y subiéronlo de la mazmorra; y quedó Jeremías en el patio de la cárcel.

So they drew up Jeremiah with cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.

So they lifted Jeremiah up with the cords, and took him up out of the dungeon; and Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard.

Et le Roi Sédécias envoya, et fit amener vers lui Jérémie le Prophète à la troisième entrée qui était dans la maison de l’Eternel. Et le Roi dit à Jérémie : je vais te demander une chose, ne m’en cèle rien.

Después envió el rey Sedechîas, é hizo traer á sí á Jeremías profeta á la tercera entrada que estaba en la casa de Jehová. Y dijo el rey á Jeremías: Pregúntote una palabra, no me encubras ninguna cosa.

Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took Jeremiah the prophet unto him into the third entry that is in the house of the LORD: and the king said unto Jeremiah, I will ask thee a thing; hide nothing from me.

Then Zedekiah the king sent and took Jeremiah the prophet to himself into the third entry that is in the LORD’s house. Then the king said to Jeremiah, “I will ask you something. Hide nothing from me.”

Et Jérémie répondit à Sédécias : quand je te l’aurai déclarée, n’est-il pas vrai que tu me feras mourir ? et quand je t’aurai donné conseil, tu ne m’écouteras point.

Y Jeremías dijo á Sedechîas: Si te lo denunciare, ¿no es verdad que me matarás? y si te diere consejo, no has de escucharme.

Then Jeremiah said unto Zedekiah, If I declare it unto thee, wilt thou not surely put me to death? and if I give thee counsel, wilt thou not hearken unto me?

Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, “If I declare it to you, will you not surely put me to death? If I give you counsel, you will not listen to me.”

Alors le Roi Sédécias jura secrètement à Jérémie, en disant : l’Eternel est vivant, qui nous a fait cette âme-ci, que je ne te ferai point mourir, et que je ne te livrerai point entre les mains de ces gens-là qui cherchent ta vie.

Y juró el rey Sedechîas en secreto á Jeremías, diciendo: Vive Jehová que nos hizo esta alma, que no te mataré, ni te entregaré en mano de estos varones que buscan tu alma.

So Zedekiah the king sware secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As the LORD liveth, that made us this soul, I will not put thee to death, neither will I give thee into the hand of these men that seek thy life.

So Zedekiah the king swore secretly to Jeremiah, saying, “As the LORD lives, who made our souls, I will not put you to death, neither will I give you into the hand of these men who seek your life.”

Alors Jérémie dit à Sédécias : ainsi a dit l’Eternel, le Dieu des armées, le Dieu d’Israël : si tu sors volontairement pour aller vers les principaux du Roi de Babylone, ta vie te sera conservée, et cette ville ne sera point brûlée au feu, et tu vivras toi et ta maison.

Entonces dijo Jeremías á Sedechîas: Así ha dicho Jehová Dios de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Si salieres luego á los príncipes del rey de Babilonia, tu alma vivirá, y esta ciudad no será puesta á fuego; y vivirás tú y tu casa:

Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; If thou wilt assuredly go forth unto the king of Babylon’s princes, then thy soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and thou shalt live, and thine house:

Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, “The LORD, the God of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘If you will go out to the king of Babylon’s princes, then your soul will live, and this city will not be burned with fire. You will live, along with your house.

Mais si tu ne sors pas vers les principaux du Roi de Babylone, cette ville sera livrée entre les mains des Caldéens, qui la brûleront au feu ; et tu n’échapperas point de leurs mains.

Mas si no salieres á los príncipes del rey de Babilonia, esta ciudad será entregada en mano de los Caldeos, y la pondrán á fuego, y tú no escaparás de sus manos.

But if thou wilt not go forth to the king of Babylon’s princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and thou shalt not escape out of their hand.

But if you will not go out to the king of Babylon’s princes, then this city will be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they will burn it with fire, and you won’t escape out of their hand.’”

Et le Roi Sédécias dit à Jérémie : j’appréhende à cause des Juifs qui se sont rendus aux Caldéens, qu’on ne me livre entre leurs mains, et qu’ils ne se moquent de moi.

Y dijo el rey Sedechîas á Jeremías: Témome á causa de los Judíos que se han adherido á los Caldeos, que no me entreguen en sus manos y me escarnezcan.

And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.

Zedekiah the king said to Jeremiah, “I am afraid of the Jews who have defected to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.”

Et Jérémie lui répondit : on ne te livrera point à eux ; je te prie, écoute la voix de l’Eternel dans ce que je te dis, afin que tu t’en trouves bien, et que tu vives.

Y dijo Jeremías: No te entregarán. Oye ahora la voz de Jehová que yo te hablo, y tendrás bien, y vivirá tu alma.

But Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver thee. Obey, I beseech thee, the voice of the LORD, which I speak unto thee: so it shall be well unto thee, and thy soul shall live.

But Jeremiah said, “They won’t deliver you. Obey, I beg you, the LORD’s voice, in that which I speak to you; so it will be well with you, and your soul will live.

Que si tu refuses de sortir, voici ce que l’Eternel m’a fait voir,

Mas si no quisieres salir, esta es la palabra que me ha mostrado Jehová:

But if thou refuse to go forth, this is the word that the LORD hath shewed me:

But if you refuse to go out, this is the word that the LORD has shown me:

C’est que, voici, toutes les femmes qui sont demeurées de reste dans la maison du Roi de Juda, seront menées dehors aux principaux du Roi de Babylone, et elles diront que ceux qui ne te prédisaient que paix, t’ont incité, et t’ont gagné ; tellement que tes pieds sont enfoncés dans la boue, s’étant reculés en arrière.

Y he aquí que todas las mujeres que han quedado en casa del rey de Judá, serán sacadas á los príncipes del rey de Babilonia; y ellas mismas dirán: Te han engañado, y prevalecido contra ti tus amigos; atollaron en el cieno tus pies, se volvieron atrás.

And, behold, all the women that are left in the king of Judah’s house shall be brought forth to the king of Babylon’s princes, and those women shall say, Thy friends have set thee on, and have prevailed against thee: thy feet are sunk in the mire, and they are turned away back.

‘Behold, all the women who are left in the king of Judah’s house will be brought out to the king of Babylon’s princes, and those women will say, “Your familiar friends have turned on you, and have prevailed over you. Your feet are sunk in the mire, they have turned away from you.”

Ils s’en vont donc mener dehors aux Caldéens toutes tes femmes et tes enfants, et tu n’échapperas point de leurs mains, mais tu seras pris, pour être livré entre les mains du Roi de Babylone, et tu seras cause que cette ville sera brûlée au feu.

Sacarán pues, todas tus mujeres y tus hijos á los Caldeos, y tú no escaparás de sus manos, sino que por mano del rey de Babilonia serás preso, y á esta ciudad quemará á fuego.

So they shall bring out all thy wives and thy children to the Chaldeans: and thou shalt not escape out of their hand, but shalt be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon: and thou shalt cause this city to be burned with fire.

They will bring out all your wives and your children to the Chaldeans. You won’t escape out of their hand, but will be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon. You will cause this city to be burned with fire.’”

Alors Sédécias dit à Jérémie : que personne ne sache rien de ces paroles, et tu ne mourras point.

Y dijo Sedechîas á Jeremías: Nadie sepa estas palabras, y no morirás.

Then said Zedekiah unto Jeremiah, Let no man know of these words, and thou shalt not die.

Then Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, “Let no man know of these words, and you won’t die.

Et si les principaux entendent que je t’ai parlé, et qu’ils viennent vers toi, et te disent : déclare-nous maintenant ce que tu as dit au Roi, et ce que le Roi a dit, ne nous en cèle rien, et nous ne te ferons point mourir ;

Y si los príncipes oyeren que yo he hablado contigo, y vinieren á ti y te dijeren: Decláranos ahora qué hablaste con el rey, no nos lo encubras, y no te mataremos; asimismo qué te dijo el rey;

But if the princes hear that I have talked with thee, and they come unto thee, and say unto thee, Declare unto us now what thou hast said unto the king, hide it not from us, and we will not put thee to death; also what the king said unto thee:

But if the princes hear that I have talked with you, and they come to you, and tell you, ‘Declare to us now what you have said to the king; don’t hide it from us, and we will not put you to death; also tell us what the king said to you;’

Tu leur diras : j’ai présenté ma supplication devant le Roi, afin qu’il ne me fît point ramener dans la maison de Jéhonathan pour y mourir.

Les dirás: Supliqué al rey que no me hiciese tornar á casa de Jonathán porque no me muriese allí.

Then thou shalt say unto them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan’s house, to die there.

then you shall tell them, ‘I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan’s house, to die there.’”

Tous les principaux donc vinrent vers Jérémie, et l’interrogèrent ; mais il leur fit un rapport conforme à toutes les paroles que le Roi lui avait commandé de dire ; et ils cessèrent de lui parler, car on n’avait rien su de cette affaire.

Y vinieron luego todos los príncipes á Jeremías, y preguntáronle: y él les respondió conforme á todo lo que el rey le había mandado. Con esto se dejaron de él, porque el negocio no se había oído.

Then came all the princes unto Jeremiah, and asked him: and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived.

Then all the princes came to Jeremiah, and asked him; and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they stopped speaking with him, for the matter was not perceived.

Ainsi Jérémie demeura dans la cour de la prison, jusqu’au jour que Jérusalem fut prise, et il y était lorsque Jérusalem fut prise.

Y quedó Jeremías en el patio de la cárcel hasta el día que fué tomada Jerusalem; y allí estaba cuando Jerusalem fué tomada.

So Jeremiah abode in the court of the prison until the day that Jerusalem was taken: and he was there when Jerusalem was taken.

So Jeremiah stayed in the court of the guard until the day that Jerusalem was taken.
