Dicen: Si un esposo repudia a su esposa, y ella se va de él y se une a otro esposo, ¿regresará el primero a ella? ¿No quedará esa tierra completamente contaminada? Pero tú eres una prostituta que tienes muchos amantes, como un árabe en el desierto. Sin embargo, regresa a Mí, dice Yavé.
DICEN: Si alguno dejare su mujer, y yéndose ésta de él se juntare á otro hombre, ¿volverá á ella más? ¿no será tal tierra del todo amancillada? Tú pues has fornicado con muchos amigos; mas vuélvete á mí, dijo Jehová.
They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man’s, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD.
“They say, ‘If a man puts away his wife, and she goes from him, and becomes another man’s, should he return to her again?’ Wouldn’t that land be greatly polluted? But you have played the prostitute with many lovers; yet return again to me,” says the LORD.
Levanta tus ojos hacia las alturas y mira en cuál lugar no se acostaron contigo. Te sientas en los caminos a la disposición de ellos, como un árabe en el desierto. Con tu prostitución y tu perversidad contaminaste la tierra.
Alza tus ojos á los altos, y ve en qué lugar no te hayas publicado: para ellos te sentabas en los caminos, como Arabe en el desierto; y con tus fornicaciones y con tu malicia has contaminado la tierra.
Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness.
“Lift up your eyes to the bare heights, and see! Where have you not been lain with? You have sat waiting for them by the road, as an Arabian in the wilderness. You have polluted the land with your prostitution and with your wickedness.
Por tanto, las lluvias fueron retenidas, no hubo lluvias tardías. Sin embargo, tuviste el descaro de prostituta. Te negaste a avergonzarte.
Por esta causa las aguas han sido detenidas, y faltó la lluvia de la tarde; y has tenido frente de mala mujer, ni quisiste tener vergüenza.

A lo menos desde ahora, ¿no clamarás á mí, Padre mío, guiador de mi juventud?
Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?
Will you not from this time cry to me, ‘My Father, you are the guide of my youth!’?
¿Estará Él airado para siempre? ¿Eternamente estará airado? Ciertamente tú hablaste así, pero hiciste cuantas cosas perversas pudiste.
¿Guardará su enojo para siempre? ¿eternalmente lo guardará? He aquí que has hablado y hecho cuantas maldades pudiste.
Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest.
“‘Will he retain his anger forever? Will he keep it to the end?’ Behold, you have spoken and have done evil things, and have had your way.”
En los días del rey Josías Yavé me dijo: ¿Viste lo que hace la apóstata Israel? Ella sube a toda montaña alta y fornica debajo de todo árbol frondoso.
Y díjome Jehová en días del rey Josías: ¿Has visto lo que ha hecho la rebelde Israel? Vase ella sobre todo monte alto y debajo de todo árbol umbroso, y allí fornica.
The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.
Moreover, the LORD said to me in the days of Josiah the king, “Have you seen that which backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and has played the prostitute there.
Después de hacer todo esto, me dije: Regresará a Mí, pero no regresó. Y Judá, su pérfida hermana,

And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.

vio que Yo despedí a la apóstata Israel por sus adulterios y que le di carta de divorcio. Y aun así, Judá, su pérfida hermana, no tuvo temor. También ella fue y se prostituyó.
Que yo lo había visto; que por todas estas causas en las cuales fornicó la rebelde Israel, yo la había despedido, y dádole la carta de su repudio; y no tuvo temor la rebelde Judá su hermana, sino que también fué ella y fornicó.
And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
I saw when, for this very cause, that backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce, yet treacherous Judah, her sister, had no fear, but she also went and played the prostitute.
Sucedió que a causa de que su prostitución le era liviana, se prostituyó con la piedra y con el leño, y profanó la tierra.
Y sucedió que por la liviandad de su fornicación la tierra fué contaminada, y adulteró con la piedra y con el leño.
And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
Because she took her prostitution lightly, the land was polluted, and she committed adultery with stones and with wood.
Ni a pesar de todo esto su hermana Judá regresó a Mí con corazón sincero, sino fingidamente, dice Yavé.
Y con todo esto, la rebelde su hermana Judá no se tornó á mí de todo su corazón, sino mentirosamente, dice Jehová.
And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the LORD.

Yavé me dijo: La infiel Israel se mostró más justa que la pérfida Judá.
Y díjome Jehová: Justificado ha su alma la rebelde Israel en comparación de la desleal Judá.
And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.
The LORD said to me, “Backsliding Israel has shown herself more righteous than treacherous Judah.
Vé, proclama estas palabras hacia el norte: ¡Regresa, oh apóstata Israel! dice Yavé. No derramaré mi ira sobre ustedes, porque soy misericordioso, dice Yavé. No estaré airado para siempre.
Ve, y clama estas palabras hacia el aquilón, y di: Vuélvete, oh rebelde Israel, dice Jehová; no haré caer mi ira sobre vosotros: porque misericordioso soy yo, dice Jehová, no guardaré para siempre el enojo.
Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever.
Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, ‘Return, you backsliding Israel,’ says the LORD; ‘I will not look in anger on you, for I am merciful,’ says the LORD. ‘I will not keep anger forever.
Solo reconoce tu iniquidad, porque contra Yavé tu ʼElohim cometiste transgresión. Abriste tus favores a extraños debajo de todo árbol frondoso y no obedeciste mi voz, dice Yavé.
Conoce empero tu maldad, porque contra Jehová tu Dios has prevaricado, y tus caminos has derramado á los extraños debajo de todo árbol umbroso, y no oiste mi voz, dice Jehová.
Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.

Regresen, oh hijos rebeldes, dice Yavé, porque Yo soy su Dueño. Los tomaré, uno de cada ciudad y dos de cada familia, y los traeré a Sion.

Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
“Return, backsliding children,” says the LORD, “for I am a husband to you. I will take one of you from a city, and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion.
Les daré pastores según mi corazón, que los pastoreen con conocimiento y entendimiento.

And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Sucederá que cuando se multipliquen e incrementen en la tierra, en aquellos días, dice Yavé, ya no hablarán del Arca del Pacto de Yavé, ni les llegará al pensamiento, ni se acordarán más de ella, ni les hará falta, ni se hará otra.
Y acontecerá, que cuando os multiplicareis y creciereis en la tierra, en aquellos días, dice Jehová, no se dirá más: Arca del pacto de Jehová; ni vendrá al pensamiento, ni se acordarán de ella, ni la visitarán, ni se hará más.
And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.
It will come to pass, when you are multiplied and increased in the land in those days,” says the LORD, “they will no longer say, ‘the ark of the LORD’s covenant!’ It will not come to mind. They won’t remember it. They won’t miss it, nor will another be made.
En aquel tiempo Jerusalén será llamada Trono de Yavé. Serán reunidas todas las naciones en ella, pues el Nombre de Yavé estará en Jerusalén. Ya no andarán en la terquedad de su perverso corazón.
En aquel tiempo llamarán á Jerusalem Trono de Jehová, y todas las gentes se congregarán á ella en el nombre de Jehová en Jerusalem: ni andarán más tras la dureza de su corazón malvado.
At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.
At that time they will call Jerusalem ‘The LORD’s Throne;’ and all the nations will be gathered to it, to the LORD’s name, to Jerusalem. They will no longer walk after the stubbornness of their evil heart.
En aquellos días la Casa de Judá andará con la Casa de Israel. Llegarán juntas desde la tierra del norte a la tierra que di en posesión a sus antepasados.
En aquellos tiempos irán de la casa de Judá á la casa de Israel, y vendrán juntamente de tierra del aquilón á la tierra que hice heredar á vuestros padres.
In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.

But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.
“But I said, ‘How I desire to put you among the children, and give you a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the armies of the nations!’ and I said, ‘You shall call me “My Father”, and shall not turn away from following me.’
Ciertamente como la esposa infiel abandona a su esposo, así ustedes me trataron infielmente, oh Casa de Israel, dice Yavé.
Mas como la esposa quiebra la fe de su compañero, así prevaricasteis contra mí, oh casa de Israel, dice Jehová.
Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD.

El llanto suplicante de los hijos de Israel fue oído sobre las altas montañas, porque torcieron su camino. Se olvidaron de Yavé su ʼElohim.
Voz sobre las alturas fué oída, llanto de los ruegos de los hijos de Israel; porque han torcido su camino, de Jehová su Dios se han olvidado.
A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the LORD their God.

Regresen, oh hijos infieles, sanaré sus infidelidades. ¡Aquí estamos! Venimos a Ti, porque Tú, oh Yavé, eres nuestro ʼElohim.

Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.

Ciertamente las colinas y el bullicio en las montañas fueron un engaño. Ciertamente en Yavé nuestro ʼElohim está la salvación de Israel.

Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.

Lo vergonzoso consumió el esfuerzo de nuestros antepasados desde nuestra juventud: sus rebaños y sus manadas de ganado vacuno, sus hijos y sus hijas.
