“Se um homem se divorciar de sua mulher, e depois da separação ela se casar novamente, poderá o primeiro marido voltar a se unir a ela? Isso não mancharia completamente a terra? Você me deixou e teve muitos amantes, como uma prostituta qualquer, e agora quer voltar para mim?”, pergunta o Senhor.
DICEN: Si alguno dejare su mujer, y yéndose ésta de él se juntare á otro hombre, ¿volverá á ella más? ¿no será tal tierra del todo amancillada? Tú pues has fornicado con muchos amigos; mas vuélvete á mí, dijo Jehová.
They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man’s, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD.
“They say, ‘If a man puts away his wife, and she goes from him, and becomes another man’s, should he return to her again?’ Wouldn’t that land be greatly polluted? But you have played the prostitute with many lovers; yet return again to me,” says the LORD.
“Passe os olhos por toda a terra; olhe bem para todos os montes e morros: Existe um único lugar onde você não tenha cometido adultério, deixando-me de lado e adorando falsos deuses? Você é como a prostituta, esperando um cliente nas esquinas escuras! Sozinha, como um nômade do deserto, você esperava os seus amantes e sujou a terra com o pecado da sua prostituição.
Alza tus ojos á los altos, y ve en qué lugar no te hayas publicado: para ellos te sentabas en los caminos, como Arabe en el desierto; y con tus fornicaciones y con tu malicia has contaminado la tierra.
Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness.
“Lift up your eyes to the bare heights, and see! Where have you not been lain with? You have sat waiting for them by the road, as an Arabian in the wilderness. You have polluted the land with your prostitution and with your wickedness.
É por isso que as chuvas da primavera não vieram, e houve seca. Mas você é mesmo uma prostituta e não sente vergonha disso.

certamente não vai ficar irado para sempre, vai? O Senhor vai esquecer tudo, não vai?’ Você fala muito manso quando se dirige a mim, mas continua a pecar”.
¿Guardará su enojo para siempre? ¿eternalmente lo guardará? He aquí que has hablado y hecho cuantas maldades pudiste.
Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest.
“‘Will he retain his anger forever? Will he keep it to the end?’ Behold, you have spoken and have done evil things, and have had your way.”
Eu recebi outra mensagem do Senhor, durante o reinado de Josias: “Você viu o que fez a nação de Israel? Como uma esposa infiel, que se entrega a outros homens sempre que tem oportunidade, Israel adorou outros deuses em todos os montes e debaixo de todas as grandes árvores.
Y díjome Jehová en días del rey Josías: ¿Has visto lo que ha hecho la rebelde Israel? Vase ella sobre todo monte alto y debajo de todo árbol umbroso, y allí fornica.
The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.
Moreover, the LORD said to me in the days of Josiah the king, “Have you seen that which backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and has played the prostitute there.
Eu pensei que depois de fazer tudo isso, ela se arrependeria e voltaria para mim, mas não voltou. E Judá, sua irmã infiel, viu essa constante traição,

mas não deu a mínima importância, nem mesmo quando me divorciei dela e a mandei embora, porque ela me abandonou e se tornou prostituta. Pelo contrário, ela mesma se entregou abertamente à prostituição, indo adorar outros deuses, sem temor algum.
Que yo lo había visto; que por todas estas causas en las cuales fornicó la rebelde Israel, yo la había despedido, y dádole la carta de su repudio; y no tuvo temor la rebelde Judá su hermana, sino que también fué ella y fornicó.
And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

Ela não ficou envergonhada. Judá manchou a terra porque cometeu adultério com ídolos de madeira e de pedra.

And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.

E depois de fazer todo esse mal, a infiel Judá não voltou para mim de todo o coração; o seu arrependimento era fingido”, diz o Senhor.

Naquele tempo, as nações de Israel e Judá voltarão juntas de sua escravidão nas terras do norte e habitarão na terra que eu dei como herança aos seus antepassados.

Mas o que aconteceu foi justamente o contrário: Como mulher que trai o marido, assim você tem sido infiel comigo, ó nação de Israel”, diz o Senhor.

Estou ouvindo um barulho no alto dos montes, barulho de gente chorando. São os filhos de Israel que não quiseram saber do Senhor, o seu Deus, e perverteram os seus caminhos.

Já estamos cansados de adorar ídolos sobre os montes e realizar festas imorais no alto dos montes; tudo isso não passa de ilusão. A verdade é que somente no Senhor, o nosso Deus, existe salvação para Israel.
Ciertamente vanidad son los collados, la multitud de los montes: ciertamente en Jehová nuestro Dios está la salud de Israel.
Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.

Desde a nossa mocidade temos visto nossos pais desperdiçarem tudo que tinham — ovelhas, gado, filhos e filhas — adorando a Baal, o deus da vergonha de Israel!
