Si un hombre se divorcia de su mujer y ella se va y se casa con otro, ¿podría este hombre volver con ella? ¿No quedaría el país totalmente impuro por ello? Pero ustedes han hecho algo peor al prostituirse con muchos amantes, ¿y ahora quieren volver a mí? declara el Señor.
DICEN: Si alguno dejare su mujer, y yéndose ésta de él se juntare á otro hombre, ¿volverá á ella más? ¿no será tal tierra del todo amancillada? Tú pues has fornicado con muchos amigos; mas vuélvete á mí, dijo Jehová.
They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man’s, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD.
“They say, ‘If a man puts away his wife, and she goes from him, and becomes another man’s, should he return to her again?’ Wouldn’t that land be greatly polluted? But you have played the prostitute with many lovers; yet return again to me,” says the LORD.
Miren hacia las cumbres desnudas. ¿Hay algún lugar donde no hayan tenido relaciones sexuales? Se han sentado al borde del camino, como un errante en el desierto, esperando que pasen sus amantes. Han ensuciado la tierra con su prostitución y su maldad.
Alza tus ojos á los altos, y ve en qué lugar no te hayas publicado: para ellos te sentabas en los caminos, como Arabe en el desierto; y con tus fornicaciones y con tu malicia has contaminado la tierra.
Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness.
“Lift up your eyes to the bare heights, and see! Where have you not been lain with? You have sat waiting for them by the road, as an Arabian in the wilderness. You have polluted the land with your prostitution and with your wickedness.
Por eso no se ha enviado rocío ni han caído lluvias de primavera. Pero tú te limitas a comportarte como una prostituta; te niegas a aceptar que has hecho algo malo.
Por esta causa las aguas han sido detenidas, y faltó la lluvia de la tarde; y has tenido frente de mala mujer, ni quisiste tener vergüenza.
Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore’s forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.

¿No me acabas de decir: “Padre mío, has sido un gran amigo mío desde que era pequeño.
A lo menos desde ahora, ¿no clamarás á mí, Padre mío, guiador de mi juventud?
Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?
Will you not from this time cry to me, ‘My Father, you are the guide of my youth!’?
No te enfadarás conmigo durante mucho tiempo, ¿verdad? ¿No seguirás así siempre?” Esto es lo que has dicho, pero sigues haciendo todo el mal posible.
¿Guardará su enojo para siempre? ¿eternalmente lo guardará? He aquí que has hablado y hecho cuantas maldades pudiste.
Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest.
“‘Will he retain his anger forever? Will he keep it to the end?’ Behold, you have spoken and have done evil things, and have had your way.”
Durante el reinado del rey Josías, el Señor me dijo: ¿Has visto lo que ha hecho el infiel Israel? Se ha prostituido en todo monte alto y bajo todo árbol verde.
Y díjome Jehová en días del rey Josías: ¿Has visto lo que ha hecho la rebelde Israel? Vase ella sobre todo monte alto y debajo de todo árbol umbroso, y allí fornica.
The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.
Moreover, the LORD said to me in the days of Josiah the king, “Have you seen that which backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and has played the prostitute there.
Esperaba que, después de hacer todo esto, volviera a mí. Pero no volvió, y su hermana infiel, Judá, vio lo que pasó.
Y dije después que hizo todo esto: Vuélvete á mí; mas no se volvió. Y vió la rebelde su hermana Judá,
And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.

Ella vio que por todo lo que había hecho la infiel Israel al cometer adulterio, la rechacé, dándole un certificado de divorcio. Pero su hermana infiel Judá no tuvo miedo y se prostituyó también.
Que yo lo había visto; que por todas estas causas en las cuales fornicó la rebelde Israel, yo la había despedido, y dádole la carta de su repudio; y no tuvo temor la rebelde Judá su hermana, sino que también fué ella y fornicó.
And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
I saw when, for this very cause, that backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce, yet treacherous Judah, her sister, had no fear, but she also went and played the prostitute.
A Israel no le importó la inmoralidad, pues se ensució a sí misma y a la tierra, cometiendo adulterio al rendirle culto a las piedras y a los árboles.
Y sucedió que por la liviandad de su fornicación la tierra fué contaminada, y adulteró con la piedra y con el leño.
And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
Because she took her prostitution lightly, the land was polluted, and she committed adultery with stones and with wood.
A pesar de todo esto, su infiel hermana Judá no volvió a mí con sinceridad. Sólo fingió hacerlo, declara el Señor.
Y con todo esto, la rebelde su hermana Judá no se tornó á mí de todo su corazón, sino mentirosamente, dice Jehová.
And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the LORD.

El Señor me dijo: La infiel Israel demostró que no era tan culpable como la infiel Judá.
Y díjome Jehová: Justificado ha su alma la rebelde Israel en comparación de la desleal Judá.
And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.
The LORD said to me, “Backsliding Israel has shown herself more righteous than treacherous Judah.
Ahora ve y anuncia este mensaje al norte: Vuelve, Israel infiel, declara el Señor. No me enfadaré más contigo, porque soy misericordioso, declara el Señor. No me enfadaré para siempre.
Ve, y clama estas palabras hacia el aquilón, y di: Vuélvete, oh rebelde Israel, dice Jehová; no haré caer mi ira sobre vosotros: porque misericordioso soy yo, dice Jehová, no guardaré para siempre el enojo.
Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever.

Reconoce que hiciste mal, que te rebelaste contra el Señor, tu Dios. Te dispersaste, cometiendo adulterio al adorar a dioses extranjeros bajo cualquier árbol verde, negándote a hacer lo que te dije, declara el Señor.
Conoce empero tu maldad, porque contra Jehová tu Dios has prevaricado, y tus caminos has derramado á los extraños debajo de todo árbol umbroso, y no oiste mi voz, dice Jehová.
Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.

Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
“Return, backsliding children,” says the LORD, “for I am a husband to you. I will take one of you from a city, and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion.
Os daré pastores que sean como yo, que os alimentarán con sabiduría y entendimiento.
Y os daré pastores según mi corazón, que os apacienten de ciencia y de inteligencia.
And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

En ese momento, a medida que ustedes aumenten en número en el país, declara el Señor, ya nadie hablará del Arca del Acuerdo del Señor. La gente no necesitará pensar en ella, ni recordarla, ni preguntarse qué pasó con ella; y ciertamente no necesitará hacer una nueva.
Y acontecerá, que cuando os multiplicareis y creciereis en la tierra, en aquellos días, dice Jehová, no se dirá más: Arca del pacto de Jehová; ni vendrá al pensamiento, ni se acordarán de ella, ni la visitarán, ni se hará más.
And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.

Cuando llegue ese momento, Jerusalén será llamada el Trono del Señor, y todas las naciones se reunirán en Jerusalén para honrar al Señor. Ya no serán tercos ni malvados.
En aquel tiempo llamarán á Jerusalem Trono de Jehová, y todas las gentes se congregarán á ella en el nombre de Jehová en Jerusalem: ni andarán más tras la dureza de su corazón malvado.
At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.
At that time they will call Jerusalem ‘The LORD’s Throne;’ and all the nations will be gathered to it, to the LORD’s name, to Jerusalem. They will no longer walk after the stubbornness of their evil heart.
En ese momento el pueblo de Judá se unirá al pueblo de Israel, y volverán de la tierra del norte al país que les di a sus antepasados para que lo poseyeran.
En aquellos tiempos irán de la casa de Judá á la casa de Israel, y vendrán juntamente de tierra del aquilón á la tierra que hice heredar á vuestros padres.
In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.

Me dije: Quiero que sean mis hijos, y darles el mejor país, el lugar más hermoso de cualquier nación. Esperaba que me llamarais “Padre” y que nunca dejarais de seguirme.

But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.
“But I said, ‘How I desire to put you among the children, and give you a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the armies of the nations!’ and I said, ‘You shall call me “My Father”, and shall not turn away from following me.’
Pero al igual que una esposa puede traicionar a su marido, ustedes me han traicionado, pueblo de Israel, declara el Señor.
Mas como la esposa quiebra la fe de su compañero, así prevaricasteis contra mí, oh casa de Israel, dice Jehová.
Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD.
“Surely as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, so you have dealt treacherously with me, house of Israel,” says the LORD.
Hay voces que claman en las cimas de los montes: los israelitas lloran y piden misericordia, porque se han extraviado y se han olvidado del Señor, su Dios.
Voz sobre las alturas fué oída, llanto de los ruegos de los hijos de Israel; porque han torcido su camino, de Jehová su Dios se han olvidado.
A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the LORD their God.

Volved, hijos infieles, y yo curaré vuestra infidelidad. “¡Ya estamos aquí! Sí, volvemos a ti, porque tú eres el Señor, nuestro Dios”.
Convertíos, hijos rebeldes, sanaré vuestras rebeliones. He aquí nosotros venimos á ti; porque tú eres Jehová nuestro Dios.
Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.

No hay duda de que el culto pagano de las colinas es pura mentira; la idolatría que viene de las montañas es sólo ruido. La salvación de Israel está sólo en el Señor, nuestro Dios.
Ciertamente vanidad son los collados, la multitud de los montes: ciertamente en Jehová nuestro Dios está la salud de Israel.
Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.
Truly help from the hills, the tumult on the mountains, is in vain. Truly the salvation of Israel is in the LORD our God.
Durante toda nuestra vida, la idolatría pagana ha destruido lo que nuestros padres tanto trabajaron: sus rebaños y manadas, sus hijos e hijas.
Confusión consumió el trabajo de nuestros padres desde nuestra mocedad; sus ovejas, sus vacas, sus hijos y sus hijas.
