Mas sucedió que al séptimo mes vino Ismael, hijo de Natanías, hijo de Elisama, que era de estirpe real, y los grandes del rey, con diez hombres atrevidos y valientes, a encontrar a Godolías, hijo de Ahicam, en Masfat, y comieron allí con él.
Y ACONTECIÓ en el mes séptimo, que vino Ismael hijo de Nethanías, hijo de Elisama, de la simiente real, y algunos príncipes del rey, y diez hombres con él, á Gedalías hijo de Ahicam en Mizpa; y comieron pan juntos allí en Mizpa.
Now it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, and the princes of the king, even ten men with him, came unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and there they did eat bread together in Mizpah.

Y se levantó Ismael, hijo de Natanías, y los diez hombres que le acompañaban; y asesinaron a Godolías, hijo de Ahicam, hijo de Safán, quitando la vida al que el rey de Babilonia había puesto por gobernador del país.
Y levantóse Ismael hijo de Nethanías, y los diez hombres que con él estaban, é hirieron á cuchillo á Gedalías hijo de Ahicam, hijo de Saphán, matando así á aquel á quien el rey de Babilonia había puesto sobre la tierra.

La cisterna o foso en que Ismael arrojó todos los cadáveres de aquella gente que asesinó por causa o envidia de Godolías, es aquella misma que hizo el rey Asá con motivo de Baasa, rey de Israel la cual llenó Ismael, hijo de Natanías, de los cuerpos de aquellos que habían muerto.
Y el aljibe en que echó Ismael todos los cuerpos de los hombres que hirió por causa de Gedalías, era el mismo que había hecho el rey Asa por causa de Baasa, rey de Israel: llenólo de muertos Ismael, hijo de Nethanías.

Y cogiéndolos Ismael, hijo de Natanías, se fue para pasarse a los amonitas.
Después llevó Ismael cautivo á todo el resto del pueblo que estaba en Mizpa; á las hijas del rey, y á todo el pueblo que en Mizpa había quedado, el cual había Nabuzaradán capitán de la guardia encargado á Gedalías hijo de Ahicam. Llevólos pues cautivos Ismael hijo de Nethanías, y se fué para pasarse á los hijos de Ammón.

Entretanto Johanán, hijo de Caree, y todos los jefes de la milicia que estaban con él, recibieron aviso de todo el estrago hecho por Ismael, hijo de Natanías.

y se fueron, y estuvieron como peregrinos en Camaam, que está cerca de Betlehem, para pasar después adelante y entrar en Egipto
