Sali in Galaad, e prendine del balsamo, o vergine, figliuola di Egitto; indarno hai usati medicamenti assai, non vi è guarigione alcuna per te.

Sube á Galaad, y toma bálsamo, virgen hija de Egipto: por demás multiplicarás medicinas; no hay cura para ti.

Go up into Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt: in vain shalt thou use many medicines; for thou shalt not be cured.
