Esto dice el Señor Dios: He aquí que vienen aguas o tropas del norte, a manera de un torrente que todo lo inunda, y cubrirán la tierra y cuanto hay en ella, la ciudad y los habitantes; los hombres darán gritos, y aullarán todos los moradores de la tierra
Así ha dicho Jehová: He aquí que suben aguas del aquilón, y tornaránse en torrente, é inundarán la tierra y su plenitud, ciudades y moradores de ellas; y los hombres clamarán, y aullará todo morador de la tierra.
Thus saith the LORD; Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall howl.
The LORD says: “Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and will become an overflowing stream, and will overflow the land and all that is therein, the city and those who dwell therein. The men will cry, and all the inhabitants of the land will wail.
al oír el estruendo pomposo de las armas, y de los combatientes, y de los movimientos de sus carros armados, y de la multitud de sus carruajes; los padres, perdido todo el aliento, no cuidaban ya de mirar por sus hijos.
Por el sonido de las uñas de sus fuertes, por el alboroto de sus carros, por el estruendo de sus ruedas, los padres no miraron á los hijos por la flaqueza de las manos;
At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong horses, at the rushing of his chariots, and at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back to their children for feebleness of hands;

Porque ha llegado el día en que serán exterminados todos los filisteos, y serán arruinados Tiro y Sidón, con todos sus auxiliares que le quedaban, pues el Señor ha entregado al saqueo los filisteos, restos de la isla o provincia marítima de Capadocia.
A causa del día que viene para destrucción de todos los Palestinos, para talar á Tiro, y á Sidón, á todo ayudador que quedó vivo: porque Jehová destruirá á los Palestinos, al resto de la isla de Caphtor.
Because of the day that cometh to spoil all the Philistines, and to cut off from Tyrus and Zidon every helper that remaineth: for the LORD will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor.

Gaza lleva rapada su cabeza. Ascalón no se atreve a despegar sus labios, y lo mismo el resto de sus valles. ¿Hasta cuándo te sajarás, o rasgarás tus carnes?
Sobre Gaza vino mesadura, Ascalón fué cortada, y el resto de su valle: ¿hasta cuándo te arañarás?
Baldness is come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is cut off with the remnant of their valley: how long wilt thou cut thyself?
Baldness has come on Gaza; Ashkelon is brought to nothing. You remnant of their valley, how long will you cut yourself?
¡Oh espada del Señor!, ¿no descansarás tú nunca? Entrate otra vez en tu vaina, mitiga ese ardor, y estáte queda.
Oh espada de Jehová, ¿hasta cuándo no reposarás? Métete en tu vaina, reposa y sosiega.
O thou sword of the LORD, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.
“‘You sword of the LORD, how long will it be before you are quiet? Put yourself back into your scabbard; rest, and be still.’
Mas ¿cómo estará ella quieta cuando el Señor le ha dado sus órdenes contra Ascalón y contra sus regiones marítimas, y le ha mandado que obre contra ellos?
¿Cómo reposarás? pues que Jehová lo ha enviado contra Ascalón, y á la ribera de la mar, allí lo puso.
How can it be quiet, seeing the LORD hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there hath he appointed it.
“How can you be quiet, since the LORD has given you a command? Against Ashkelon, and against the seashore, there he has appointed it.”
