Palabra de Yavé: Cuando quieras regresar, oh Israel, regresa a Mí, si apartas de delante de Mí tus repugnancias y no vagas de una parte a otra.
SI te has de convertir, oh Israel, dice Jehová, conviértete á mí; y si quitares de delante de mí tus abominaciones, no andarás de acá para allá.

Porque Yavé dice así a los varones de Judá y de Jerusalén: Abran surcos y no siembren entre espinos.

El león sube de la espesura. El destructor de naciones está en marcha. Salió de su lugar para convertir tu tierra en desolación. Tus ciudades quedarán en ruinas, sin habitante.
El león sube de su guarida, y el destruidor de gentes ha partido; salido ha de su asiento para poner tu tierra en soledad; tus ciudades serán asoladas, y sin morador.
The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.

Por eso átense tela áspera, lamenten y giman, porque el ardor de la ira de Yavé no se apartó de nosotros.
Por esto vestíos de saco, endechad y aullad; porque la ira de Jehová no se ha apartado de nosotros.
For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned back from us.

Sucederá en aquel día, dice Yavé, que el corazón del rey desfallecerá y el corazón de los magistrados. Los sacerdotes estarán horrorizados y los profetas asombrados.
Y será en aquel día, dice Jehová, que desfallecerá el corazón del rey, y el corazón de los príncipes, y los sacerdotes estarán atónitos, y se maravillarán los profetas.
And it shall come to pass at that day, saith the LORD, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder.
“It will happen at that day,” says the LORD, “that the heart of the king will perish, along with the heart of the princes. The priests will be astonished, and the prophets will wonder.”
Entonces dije: ¡Oh ʼAdonay Yavé! En verdad engañaste muchísimo a este pueblo y a Jerusalén al decir: ¡Tendrán paz! mientras la espada penetra hasta el alma.
Y dije: ¡Ay, ay, Jehová Dios! verdaderamente en gran manera has engañado á este pueblo y á Jerusalem, diciendo, Paz tendréis; pues que el cuchillo ha venido hasta el alma.
Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul.

En aquel tiempo se dirá a este pueblo y a Jerusalén: Un viento caliente viene de las alturas del desierto a la hija de mi pueblo, no para aventar ni para limpiar.

At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse,

Un viento aun más fuerte vendrá a Mí, y ahora Yo pronunciaré mis juicios contra ellos.

Miren: Suben como nube, y sus carruajes, como tormenta. Sus caballos son más ligeros que las águilas. ¡Ay de nosotros, porque estamos arruinados!

Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.

¡Oh Jerusalén! Lava tu corazón de perversidad para que seas salvada. ¿Hasta cuándo se alojarán dentro de ti tus perversos pensamientos?
Lava de la malicia tu corazón, oh Jerusalem, para que seas salva. ¿Hasta cuándo dejarás estar en medio de ti los pensamientos de iniquidad?
O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?

Porque una voz trae las noticias desde Dan, y anuncia la perversidad desde la montaña de Efraín.
Porque la voz se oye del que trae las nuevas desde Dan, y del que hace oir la calamidad desde el monte de Ephraim.
For a voice declareth from Dan, and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim.

Anuncien a las naciones: Miren, proclamen en Jerusalén: ¡Vienen guardias de tierras lejanas y lanzarán su voz contra las ciudades de Judá!
Decid á las gentes; he aquí, haced oir sobre Jerusalem: Guardas vienen de tierra lejana, y darán su voz sobre las ciudades de Judá.
Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah.
“Tell the nations, behold, publish against Jerusalem, ‘Watchers come from a far country, and raise their voice against the cities of Judah.
Como guardias de campo la rodean, porque se rebeló contra Mí, dice Yavé.
Como las guardas de las heredades, estuvieron sobre ella en derredor, porque se rebeló contra mí, dice Jehová.
As keepers of a field, are they against her round about; because she hath been rebellious against me, saith the LORD.
As keepers of a field, they are against her all around, because she has been rebellious against me,’” says the LORD.
Tus caminos y tus hechos te trajeron estas cosas. Ésta es tu aflicción. ¡Qué amarga! ¡Cómo penetra en tu corazón!
Tu camino y tus obras te hicieron esto, ésta tu maldad: por lo cual amargura penetrará hasta tu corazón.
Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reacheth unto thine heart.
“Your way and your doings have brought these things to you. This is your wickedness, for it is bitter, for it reaches to your heart.”
¡Mis órganos internos, mis órganos internos! Me duelen las fibras de mi corazón. Mi corazón se agita dentro de mí. No puedo callarme porque escuché el sonido de trompeta y el pregón de la guerra.
¡Mis entrañas, mis entrañas! Me duelen las telas de mi corazón: mi corazón ruge dentro de mí; no callaré; porque voz de trompeta has oído, oh alma mía, pregón de guerra.
My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

Se anuncia quebrantamiento sobre quebrantamiento, porque toda la tierra está devastada. Súbitamente son destruidas mis tiendas, y mis cortinas, en un momento.

Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.

Porque mi pueblo es necio. No me conocieron. Son hijos ignorantes. No son entendidos. Son expertos para hacer el mal, pero no saben hacer el bien.
Porque mi pueblo es necio; no me conocieron los hijos ignorantes y los no entendidos; sabios para mal hacer, y para bien hacer no supieron.
For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
“For my people are foolish. They don’t know me. They are foolish children, and they have no understanding. They are skillful in doing evil, but they don’t know how to do good.”
Miré la tierra y ciertamente estaba deformada y vacía. Miré los cielos y no tenían luz.

Porque Yavé dice: Toda la tierra será asolada, pero no la destruiré por completo.

Al estruendo de jinetes y de flecheros toda ciudad huye. Entran en la espesura de los bosques y suben a las peñas. Todas las ciudades están abandonadas. No queda algún habitante en ellas.
Del estruendo de la gente de á caballo y de los flecheros huyó toda la ciudad; entráronse en las espesuras de los bosques, y subiéronse en peñascos; todas las ciudades fueron desamparadas, y no quedó en ellas morador alguno.
The whole city shall flee for the noise of the horsemen and bowmen; they shall go into thickets, and climb up upon the rocks: every city shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein.

Y tú, oh desolada, ¿qué harás? Aunque te cubras de color rojo, aunque te adornes con oro, aunque te agrandes tus ojos con pintura, en vano te embelleces. Tus amantes te desprecian. Ellos buscan tu vida.
Y tú, destruída, ¿qué harás? Bien que te vistas de grana, aunque te adornes con atavíos de oro, aunque pintes con antimonio tus ojos, en vano te engalanas; menospreciáronte los amadores, buscarán tu alma.
And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life.
You, when you are made desolate, what will you do? Though you clothe yourself with scarlet, though you deck yourself with ornaments of gold, though you enlarge your eyes with makeup, you make yourself beautiful in vain. Your lovers despise you. They seek your life.
Porque oí un grito como de mujer que está de parto, la angustia como de primeriza. Es el grito angustiado de la hija de Sion que clama, extiende sus brazos y dice: ¡Ay de mí! ¡Mi alma desfallece ante los asesinos!
Porque voz oí como de mujer que está de parto, angustia como de primeriza; voz de la hija de Sión que lamenta y extiende sus manos, diciendo: ¡Ay ahora de mí! que mi alma desmaya á causa de los matadores.
For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers.
