Esta é a mensagem do Senhor contra a Babilônia e a terra dos babilônios. A mensagem foi anunciada por Jeremias, o profeta:
PALABRA que habló Jehová contra Babilonia, contra la tierra de los Caldeos, por mano de Jeremías profeta.
The word that the LORD spake against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.

“Anunciem entre todas as nações; ergam um sinal e proclamem. Não escondam nada. Digam: ‘A Babilônia foi conquistada! O deus dos babilônios, Merodaque, vai ser envergonhado! As imagens da Babilônia estão humilhadas e seus ídolos apavorados’.
Denunciad en las gentes, y haced saber; levantad también bandera: publicad, y no encubráis: decid: Tomada es Babilonia, Bel es confundido, deshecho es Merodach; confundidas son sus esculturas, quebrados son sus ídolos.
Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.
“Declare among the nations and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and don’t conceal; say, ‘Babylon has been taken, Bel is disappointed, Merodach is dismayed! Her images are disappointed. Her idols are dismayed.’
Babilônia será atacada por uma nação vinda do Norte. O ataque será tão violento que toda a terra dos babilônios será destruída; ninguém mais viverá ali, nem homens nem animais.
Porque subió contra ella gente del aquilón, la cual pondrá su tierra en asolamiento, y no habrá ni hombre ni animal que en ella more: moviéronse, se fueron.
For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.
For a nation comes up out of the north against her, which will make her land desolate, and no one will dwell in it. They have fled. They are gone, both man and animal.
“Quando isso acontecer”, diz o Senhor, “os povos de Israel e Judá voltarão juntos da sua escravidão, chorando de arrependimento e buscando o Senhor, o seu Deus.
En aquellos días y en aquel tiempo, dice Jehová, vendrán los hijos de Israel, ellos y los hijos de Judá juntamente; é irán andando y llorando, y buscarán á Jehová su Dios.
In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God.

Pedirão informações sobre como voltar a Sião e iniciarão a viagem de volta à sua terra. Dirão uns aos outros: ‘Venham! Vamos voltar e fazer uma aliança permanente com o Senhor. Essa aliança nunca será quebrada’.
Preguntarán por el camino de Sión, hacia donde volverán sus rostros, diciendo: Venid, y juntaos á Jehová con pacto eterno, que jamás se ponga en olvido.
They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.
They will inquire concerning Zion with their faces turned toward it, saying, ‘Come, and join yourselves to the LORD in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten.’
“Meu povo tem vivido como ovelhas perdidas. Seus pastores deixaram que elas se desviassem e ficassem perdidas pelos montes. Elas vaguearam por montes e colinas e se esqueceram de seu antigo curral.
Ovejas perdidas fueron mi pueblo: sus pastores las hicieron errar, por los montes las descarriaron: anduvieron de monte en collado, olvidáronse de sus majadas.
My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.

Qualquer pessoa que encontrasse uma das minhas ovelhas, as devorava. Os seus adversários disseram: ‘Podemos atacar os israelitas à vontade. Eles pecaram contra o Senhor, a fonte de justiça, a esperança de seus antepassados’.
Todos los que los hallaban, los comían; y decían sus enemigos: No pecaremos, porque ellos pecaron á Jehová morada de justicia, á Jehová, esperanza de sus padres.
All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.

Mas, agora, fujam da Babilônia, saiam da terra dos babilônios! Sejam um exemplo para os outros estrangeiros que vivem na cidade, como os bodes que lideram o rebanho.
Huid de en medio de Babilonia, y salid de la tierra de los Caldeos, y sed como los mansos delante del ganado.
Remove out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the he goats before the flocks.
“Flee out of the middle of Babylon! Go out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the male goats before the flocks.
Vejam! Eu ajuntarei um grande exército formado pelos povos do Norte para atacar a Babilônia. A cidade será conquistada. Os arqueiros inimigos não perdem uma flechada sequer; todas acertam seu alvo!
Porque he aquí que yo suscito y hago subir contra Babilonia reunión de grandes pueblos de la tierra del aquilón; y desde allí se aparejarán contra ella, y será tomada: sus flechas como de valiente diestro, que no se tornará en vano.
For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain.

A Babilônia será saqueada; todos os que a saquearem ficarão carregados de tesouros”, diz o Senhor.

“Vocês se alegraram, babilônios, quando destruíram o meu povo. Vocês vivem felizes como bezerros bem alimentados e cavalos soltos nos pastos,
Porque os alegrasteis, porque os gozasteis destruyendo mi heredad, porque os henchisteis como becerra de renuevos, y relinchasteis como caballos;
Because ye were glad, because ye rejoiced, O ye destroyers of mine heritage, because ye are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls;

mas em breve sua mãe será envergonhada. Aquela que deu à luz ficará constrangida. A Babilônia se tornará a menor das nações; sua terra será um deserto, seca e vazia.
Vuestra madre se avergonzó mucho, afrentóse la que os engendró: he aquí será la postrera de las gentes: desierto, sequedad, y páramo.
Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.

A ira do Senhor impedirá a Babilônia de voltar a ser habitada. Ela será um eterno deserto, um monte de ruínas. Quem passar por ela ficará chocado e zombará dela por causa de sua grande destruição.
Por la ira de Jehová no será habitada, sino que asolada será toda ella; todo hombre que pasare por Babilonia se asombrará, y silbará sobre todas sus plagas.
Because of the wrath of the LORD it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: every one that goeth by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.

“Nações ao redor da Babilônia, preparem-se para o ataque! Arqueiros, preparem suas flechas! Atirem sem parar, porque ela pecou contra o Senhor.
Apercibíos contra Babilonia alrededor, todos los que entesáis arco; tirad contra ella, no escatiméis las saetas: porque pecó contra Jehová.
Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about: all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against the LORD.

Cerquem a cidade, façam soar contra ela um grito de guerra de todos os lados! Vejam, a Babilônia está se rendendo! Suas torres caem e seus muros estão sendo derrubados. Chegou a hora da vingança do Senhor; façam à Babilônia o mesmo que ela fez às outras nações!
Gritad contra ella en derredor; dió su mano; caído han sus fundamentos, derribados son sus muros; porque venganza es de Jehová. Tomad venganza de ella; haced con ella como ella hizo.
Shout against her round about: she hath given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.
Shout against her all around. She has submitted herself. Her bulwarks have fallen. Her walls have been thrown down, for it is the vengeance of the LORD. Take vengeance on her. As she has done, do to her.
Eliminem da Babilônia os lavradores e os ceifeiros com sua foice na colheita! Os estrangeiros que vivem na Babilônia devem fugir cada um para seu próprio país, por causa do ataque inimigo.
Talad de Babilonia sembrador, y el que tiene hoz en tiempo de la siega: delante de la espada opresora cada uno volverá el rostro hacia su pueblo, cada uno huirá hacia su tierra.
Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land.

“O povo de Israel é como um rebanho disperso, afugentado por leões. O primeiro a devorá-lo foi o rei da Assíria; e depois, Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, esmagou os seus ossos”.
Ganado descarriado es Israel; leones lo amontonaron: el rey de Asiria lo devoró el primero; este Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia lo deshuesó el postrero.
Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.
“Israel is a hunted sheep. The lions have driven him away. First, the king of Assyria devoured him, and now at last Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.”
Por isso, assim diz o Senhor Todo-poderoso, o Deus de Israel: “Agora vou castigar o rei da Babilônia e sua terra, como castiguei o rei da Assíria.
Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: He aquí que yo visito al rey de Babilonia y á su tierra, como visité al rey de Asiria.
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.
Therefore the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: “Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.
Trarei Israel de volta à sua própria terra; ele pastará nos campos do Carmelo e em Basã; saciará seu apetite novamente nos montes de Efraim e Gileade.
Y volveré á traer á Israel á su morada, y pacerá en el Carmelo y en Basán; y en el monte de Ephraim y de Galaad se hartará su alma.
And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead.

Naqueles dias”, diz o Senhor, “não se encontrará pecado em Israel ou Judá, pois perdoarei todos os pecados do remanescente do povo que eu separei e protegi.
En aquellos días y en aquel tiempo, dice Jehová, la maldad de Israel será buscada, y no parecerá; y los pecados de Judá, y no se hallarán: porque perdonaré á los que yo hubiere dejado.
In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.

Sube contra la tierra de Merathaim, contra ella, y contra los moradores de Pekod: destruye y mata en pos de ellos, dice Jehová, y haz conforme á todo lo que yo te he mandado.

Façam toda a terra dos babilônios ouvir os gritos de batalha, o barulho da destruição!

A Babilônia, o mais poderoso martelo de todo o mundo, está quebrada em pedaços! A Babilônia se tornou motivo de espanto para todas as nações.

Eu armei uma armadilha para você, ó Babilônia, e você caiu nela sem saber. Foi apanhada de surpresa. Esse foi o resultado por se revoltar contra o Senhor.
Púsete lazos, y aun fuiste tomada, oh Babilonia, y tú no lo supiste: fuiste hallada, y aun presa, porque provocaste á Jehová.
I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striven against the LORD.

O Senhor abriu o seu depósito de armas. Retirou de lá as armas da sua ira que vai usar contra a terra dos babilônios. Pois o Soberano, o Senhor Todo-poderoso, vai realizar uma grande destruição na terra da Babilônia.
Abrió Jehová tu tesoro, y sacó los vasos de su furor: porque esta es obra de Jehová, Dios de los ejércitos, en la tierra de los Caldeos.
The LORD hath opened his armoury, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this is the work of the Lord GOD of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans.

Venham atacar a Babilônia, povos de toda a terra! Arrombem os seus depósitos de alimentos, transformem a Babilônia num monte de ruínas! Destruam completamente essa cidade, não deixem pedra sobre pedra!
Venid contra ella desde el cabo de la tierra: abrid sus almacenes: hacedla montones, y destruidla: no le queden reliquias.

Matem todos os jovens guerreiros da Babilônia, não deixem escapar um sequer! Chegou o dia do castigo para os babilônios! Morrerão como bois que descem para o matadouro.

Mas o meu povo escapou com vida! Eles voltarão a Sião para contar como foi que o Senhor nosso Deus vingou a destruição do seu templo.

The voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the LORD our God, the vengeance of his temple.

“Reúnam arqueiros para atacar a Babilônia, todos que empunham o arco! Os exércitos devem cercar a cidade, de maneira que ninguém possa sair ou entrar. Façam à Babilônia o mesmo que ela fez a outras cidades; esse será o castigo por ter desafiado o Senhor, o Santo de Israel.
Haced juntar sobre Babilonia flecheros, á todos los que entesan arco; asentad campo sobre ella alrededor; no escape de ella ninguno: pagadle según su obra; conforme á todo lo que ella hizo, haced con ella: porque contra Jehová se ensoberbeció, contra el Santo de Israel.
Call together the archers against Babylon: all ye that bend the bow, camp against it round about; let none thereof escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she hath done, do unto her: for she hath been proud against the LORD, against the Holy One of Israel.

Os jovens cairão nas ruas da Babilônia e todos os guerreiros se calarão naquele dia”, diz o Senhor.

Therefore shall her young men fall in the streets, and all her men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD.

“Eu mesmo estou contra você, cidade arrogante!”, diz o Soberano, o Senhor Todo-poderoso. “Chegou a sua hora, o tempo em que eu a castigarei severamente.

Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord GOD of hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee.

Nesse dia de castigo, você cairá apesar de todo o seu orgulho. Não haverá ninguém para ajudar você a se levantar. Eu incendiarei as suas cidades, e ninguém será capaz de apagar o incêndio!”

Assim diz o Senhor Todo-poderoso: “O povo de Israel e Judá está sendo oprimido. Maltratam os israelitas e não deixam o meu povo voltar à sua própria terra.
Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Oprimidos fueron los hijos de Israel y los hijos de Judá juntamente: y todos los que los tomaron cautivos, se los retuvieron; no los quisieron soltar.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together: and all that took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go.
The LORD of Armies says: “The children of Israel and the children of Judah are oppressed together. All who took them captive hold them fast. They refuse to let them go.
Mas acontece que o Redentor deles é forte e poderoso. O seu nome é o Senhor Todo-poderoso. Ele defenderá os interesses do seu povo e fará os israelitas voltarem para sua terra natal. Por outro lado, ele acabará com a paz e a tranquilidade dos moradores da Babilônia.
El redentor de ellos es el Fuerte; Jehová de los ejércitos es su nombre: de cierto abogará la causa de ellos, para hacer quietar la tierra, y turbar los moradores de Babilonia.
Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

A guerra da destruição final cairá de repente sobre os babilônios!”, diz o Senhor, “sobre sua capital, Babilônia, sobre os príncipes e sobre os sábios.

A destruição virá de repente sobre os seus falsos profetas! O povo que vivia se gabando de seu poder acabará passando por louco! Os soldados mais valentes ficarão paralisados de medo!
Cuchillo sobre los adivinos, y se atontarán; cuchillo sobre sus valientes, y serán quebrantados.
A sword is upon the liars; and they shall dote: a sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed.

A guerra destruirá todos os carros e cavalos de guerra da Babilônia; a morte se espalhará entre os estrangeiros que vivem na cidade e não sabem se defender. Os soldados inimigos tomarão para si os tesouros guardados nos templos e palácios!
Cuchillo sobre sus caballos, y sobre sus carros, y sobre todo el vulgo que está en medio de ella, y serán como mujeres: cuchillo sobre sus tesoros, y serán saqueados.
A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed.

Os inimigos farão secar as fontes de água da cidade. Por que tudo isso vai acontecer? Porque a Babilônia é uma terra cheia de ídolos, porque o povo babilônio enlouqueceu por causa dos seus ídolos horríveis.
Sequedad sobre sus aguas, y secaránse: porque tierra es de esculturas, y en ídolos enloquecen.
A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols.

“Por isso, a Babilônia virá a servir de esconderijo para os chacais e animais do deserto. Avestruzes farão seus ninhos nela; a cidade nunca mais será habitada!
Por tanto, allí morarán bestias monteses con lobos, morarán también en ella pollos de avestruz: y no más será poblada para siempre, ni se habitará de generación en generación.
Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.
Therefore the wild animals of the desert with the wolves will dwell there. The ostriches will dwell therein. It will be inhabited no more forever, neither will it be lived in from generation to generation.
O Senhor avisa que a Babilônia acabará deserta para sempre, como Sodoma e Gomorra, as cidades que Deus destruiu”, diz o Senhor. “Nunca mais será habitada!
Como en el trastornamiento de Dios á Sodoma y á Gomorra y á sus ciudades vecinas, dice Jehová, no morará allí hombre, ni hijo de hombre la habitará.
As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD; so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.

“Vejam! Um grande exército, composto de muitas nações, se aproxima vindo do Norte! Muitos reis comandam o exército, reis de países distantes.
He aquí viene un pueblo del aquilón; y una nación grande, y muchos reyes se levantarán de los lados de la tierra.
Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

Os soldados estão armados com arcos e lanças; são cruéis, e não sabem o que é ter pena de alguém. O barulho do exército em marcha é forte como o do mar, das ondas quebrando nas rochas. Os batalhões de cavalaria marcham em ordem, prontos para atacar a cidade da Babilônia.
Arco y lanza manejarán; serán crueles, y no tendrán compasión; su voz sonará como la mar, y montarán sobre caballos: apercibirse han como hombre á la pelea, contra ti, oh hija de Babilonia.
They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not shew mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon.

Quando o rei da Babilônia ouviu as notícias da invasão de seu país, perdeu completamente o ânimo. Foi dominado pela angústia e pelo medo, como a mulher que está para dar à luz.
Oyó su fama el rey de Babilonia, y sus manos se descoyuntaron: angustia le tomó, dolor como de mujer de parto.
The king of Babylon hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail.
The king of Babylon has heard the news of them, and his hands become feeble. Anguish has taken hold of him, pains as of a woman in labor.
Como o leão jovem sai da mata do Jordão para atacar as ovelhas que pastam nos campos, eu subitamente caçarei a Babilônia, pondo-a para fora de sua terra. Ela será dominada pela pessoa que eu escolher. Quem se atreveria a me pedir as razões dos meus atos? Quem é o pastor capaz de impedir a realização dos meus planos?”
He aquí que como león subirá de la hinchazón del Jordán á la morada fuerte: porque muy pronto le haré correr de sobre ella, y al que fuere escogido la encargaré: porque ¿quién es semejante á mí? ¿y quién me emplazará? ¿ó quién será aquel pastor que me podrá resistir?
Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?
Behold, the enemy will come up like a lion from the thickets of the Jordan against the strong habitation; for I will suddenly make them run away from it. Whoever is chosen, I will appoint him over it, for who is like me? Who will appoint me a time? Who is the shepherd who can stand before me?”
Ouçam com atenção o plano do Senhor contra a Babilônia, os projetos que ele preparou contra a terra dos babilônios! O país será invadido, até mesmo os menores do rebanho serão arrastados e as pastagens ficarão devastadas por causa deles. Todos ficarão horrorizados vendo o que aconteceu à Babilônia.
Por tanto, oid el consejo de Jehová, que ha acordado sobre Babilonia, y sus pensamientos que ha formado sobre la tierra de los Caldeos: Ciertamente los más pequeños del hato los arrastrarán, y destruirán sus moradas con ellos.
Therefore hear ye the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.
