Wollt ihr mich nicht furchten, spricht der HERR, und vor mir nicht erschrecken? Der ich dem Meer den Sand zum Ufer setze, darin es allezeit bleiben muft, daruber es nicht gehen muft; und ob es schon wallet, so vermag es doch nichts, und ob seine Wellen schon toben, so müssen sie doch nicht daruberfahren.

und sprechen nicht einmal in ihrem Herzen: Lasset uns doch den HERRN, unsern Gott, furchten, der uns Fruhregen und Spatregen zu rechter Zeit gibt und uns die Ernte treulich und jahrlich behutet.

Vuestras iniquidades han estorbado estas cosas; y vuestros pecados apartaron de vosotros el bien.

For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.

Und ihre Hauser sind voller Tucke, wie ein Vogelbauer voller Lockvogel ist. Daher werden sie gewaltig und reich, fett und glatt.
