DISCURRID por las plazas de Jerusalem, y mirad ahora, y sabed, y buscad en sus plazas si halláis hombre, si hay alguno que haga juicio, que busque verdad; y yo la perdonaré.

Que s’ils disent : l’Eternel est vivant ; ils jurent en cela plus faussement.

Eternel, tes yeux ne regardent-ils pas à la fidélité ? Tu les as frappés, et ils n’en ont point senti de douleur ; tu les as consumés, et ils ont refusé de recevoir instruction ; ils ont endurci leurs faces plus qu’une roche, ils ont refusé de se convertir.
Oh Jehová, ¿no miran tus ojos á la verdad? Azotástelos, y no les dolió; consumístelos, y no quisieron recibir corrección; endurecieron sus rostros más que la piedra, no quisieron tornarse.
O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.

Et j’ai dit : certainement ce ne sont que les plus abjects, qui se sont montrés fous, parce qu’ils ne connaissent point la voie de l’Eternel, le droit de leur Dieu.

Irme he á los grandes, y hablaréles; porque ellos conocen el camino de Jehová, el juicio de su Dios. Ciertamente ellos también quebraron el yugo, rompieron las coyundas.
I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.

C’est pourquoi le lion de la forêt les a tués, le loup du soir les a ravagés, et le léopard est au guet contre leurs villes ; quiconque en sortira sera déchiré, car leurs péchés sont multipliés, et leurs rébellions sont renforcées.

Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.

Comment te pardonnerai-je en cela ? tes fils m’ont abandonné, et ils jurent par ceux qui ne sont point dieux ; je les ai rassasiés, et ils ont commis adultère et sont allés en foule dans la maison de la prostituée.
¿Cómo te he de perdonar por esto? Sus hijos me dejaron, y juraron por lo que no es Dios. Saciélos, y adulteraron, y en casa de ramera se juntaron en compañías.
How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots’ houses.

Ne punirais-je point ces choses-là, dit l’Eternel ? et mon âme ne se vengerait-elle pas d’une nation qui est telle ?
¿No había de hacer visitación sobre esto? dijo Jehová. De una gente como ésta ¿no se había de vengar mi alma?
Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

Parce que la maison d’Israël et la maison de Juda se sont portées fort infidèlement contre moi, dit l’Eternel.

Ils ont démenti l’Eternel, et ont dit : cela n’arrivera pas, et le mal ne viendra pas sur nous, nous ne verrons pas l’épée ni la famine.
Negaron á Jehová, y dijeron: El no es, y no vendrá mal sobre nosotros, ni veremos cuchillo ni hambre;
They have belied the LORD, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:

Et les Prophètes sont légers comme le vent, et la parole n’est point en eux ; ainsi leur sera-t-il fait.

C’est pourquoi, ainsi a dit l’Eternel, le Dieu des armées : parce que vous avez proféré cette parole-là, voici, je m’en vais mettre mes paroles en ta bouche pour y être comme un feu, et ce peuple sera comme le bois, et ce feu les consumera.
Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová Dios de los ejércitos: Porque hablasteis esta palabra, he aquí yo pongo en tu boca mis palabras por fuego, y á este pueblo por leños, y los consumirá.

Maison d’Israël, voici, je m’en vais faire venir contre vous une nation d’un pays éloigné, dit l’Eternel, une nation robuste, une nation ancienne, une nation de laquelle tu ne sauras point la Langue, et dont tu n’entendras point ce qu’elle dira.
He aquí yo traigo sobre vosotros gente de lejos, oh casa de Israel, dice Jehová; gente robusta, gente antigua, gente cuya lengua ignorarás, y no entenderás lo que hablare.
Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say.

Son carquois est comme un sépulcre ouvert, et ils sont tous vaillants.

Y comerá tu mies y tu pan, que habían de comer tus hijos y tus hijas; comerá tus ovejas y tus vacas, comerá tus viñas y tus higueras; y tus ciudades fuertes en que tú confías, tornará en nada á cuchillo.
And they shall eat up thine harvest, and thy bread, which thy sons and thy daughters should eat: they shall eat up thy flocks and thine herds: they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees: they shall impoverish thy fenced cities, wherein thou trustedst, with the sword.

Toutefois en ces jours-là, dit l’Eternel, je ne vous achèverai pas entièrement.

Et il arrivera que vous direz : pourquoi l’Eternel notre Dieu nous a-t-il fait toutes ces choses ? et tu leur diras ainsi : comme vous m’avez abandonné, et avez servi les dieux de l’étranger dans votre pays, ainsi serez-vous asservis aux étrangers en un pays qui n’est point à vous.
Y será que cuando dijereis: ¿Por qué hizo Jehová el Dios nuestro con nosotros todas estas cosas? entonces les dirás: De la manera que me dejasteis á mí, y servisteis á dioses ajenos en vuestra tierra, así serviréis á extraños en tierra ajena.
And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours.
It will happen when you say, ‘Why has the LORD our God done all these things to us?’ Then you shall say to them, ‘Just as you have forsaken me and served foreign gods in your land, so you will serve strangers in a land that is not yours.’
Faites savoir ceci dans la maison de Jacob, et le publiez dans Juda, en disant :
Denunciad esto en la casa de Jacob, y haced que esto se oiga en Judá, diciendo:

Ecoutez maintenant ceci, peuple fou, et qui n’avez point d’intelligence, qui avez des yeux, et ne voyez point ; et qui avez des oreilles, et n’entendez point.
Oid ahora esto, pueblo necio y sin corazón, que tienen ojos y no ven, que tienen oídos y no oyen:
Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:
‘Hear this now, foolish people without understanding, who have eyes, and don’t see, who have ears, and don’t hear:
Ne me craindrez-vous point, dit l’Eternel, et ne serez-vous point épouvantés devant ma face ? moi qui ai mis le sable pour la borne de la mer, par une ordonnance perpétuelle, et qui ne passera point ; ses vagues s’émeuvent, mais elles ne seront pas les plus fortes ; et elles bruient, mais elles ne la passeront point.
¿A mí no temeréis? dice Jehová; ¿no os amedrentaréis á mi presencia, que al mar por ordenación eterna, la cual no quebrantará, puse arena por término? Se levantarán tempestades, mas no prevalecerán; bramarán sus ondas, mas no lo pasarán.
Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

Mais ce peuple-ci a un coeur rétif et rebelle ; ils se sont reculés en arrière, et s’en sont allés.

Et ils n’ont point dit en leur coeur : craignons maintenant l’Eternel notre Dieu, qui nous donne la pluie de la première et de la dernière saison, et qui nous garde les semaines ordonnées pour la moisson.
Y no dijeron en su corazón: Temamos ahora á Jehová Dios nuestro, que da lluvia temprana y tardía en su tiempo; los tiempos establecidos de la siega nos guarda.
Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.

Vos iniquités ont détourné ces choses, et vos péchés ont empêché qu’il ne vous arrivât du bien.
Vuestras iniquidades han estorbado estas cosas; y vuestros pecados apartaron de vosotros el bien.

Car il s’est trouvé dans mon peuple des méchants qui sont aux aguets, comme celui qui tend des pièges, ils posent une machine de perdition pour y prendre les hommes.
Porque fueron hallados en mi pueblo impíos; acechaban como quien pone lazos; pusieron trampa para tomar hombres.
For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.
For wicked men are found among my people. They watch, as fowlers lie in wait. They set a trap. They catch men.
Comme la cage est remplie d’oiseaux, ainsi leurs maisons sont remplies de fraude, et par ce moyen ils se sont agrandis et enrichis.
Como jaula llena de pájaros, así están sus casas llenas de engaño: así se hicieron grandes y ricos.
As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.

Ils sont engraissés et parés ; même ils ont surpassé les actions des méchants ; ils ne font justice à personne, non pas même à l’orphelin, et ils prospèrent, et ne font point droit aux pauvres.
Engordaron y pusiéronse lustrosos, y sobrepujaron los hechos del malo: no juzgaron la causa, la causa del huérfano; con todo hiciéronse prósperos, y la causa de los pobres no juzgaron.
They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.

Il est arrivé en la terre une chose étonnante, et qui fait horreur :
Cosa espantosa y fea es hecha en la tierra:
A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land;

C’est que les Prophètes prophétisent le mensonge, et les Sacrificateurs dominent par leur moyen ; et mon peuple a aimé cela. Que ferez-vous donc quand elle prendra fin ?
Los profetas profetizaron mentira, y los sacerdotes dirigían por manos de ellos; y mi pueblo así lo quiso. ¿Qué pues haréis á su fin?
