O figliuoli di Beniamino, cercate un rifugio lungi dal mezzo di Gerusalemme, e sonate la tromba in Tekoa, e innalzate un segnale su Bethkerem! perché dal settentrione s’avanza una calamità, una grande ruina.
HUID, hijos de Benjamín, de en medio de Jerusalem, y tocad bocina en Tecoa, y alzad por señal humo sobre Beth-hacchêrem: porque del aquilón se ha visto mal, y quebrantamiento grande.
O ye children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a sign of fire in Beth-haccerem: for evil appeareth out of the north, and great destruction.
“Flee for safety, you children of Benjamin, out of the middle of Jerusalem! Blow the trumpet in Tekoa and raise up a signal on Beth Haccherem, for evil looks out from the north with a great destruction.
La bella, la voluttuosa figliuola di Sion io la distruggo!
A mujer hermosa y delicada comparé á la hija de Sión.
I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman.
I will cut off the beautiful and delicate one, the daughter of Zion.
Verso di lei vengono de’ pastori coi loro greggi; essi piantano le loro tende intorno a lei; ognun d’essi bruca dal suo lato.
A ella vendrán pastores y sus rebaños; junto á ella en derredor pondrán sus tiendas; cada uno apacentará á su parte.
The shepherds with their flocks shall come unto her; they shall pitch their tents against her round about; they shall feed every one in his place.
Shepherds with their flocks will come to her. They will pitch their tents against her all around. They will feed everyone in his place.”
“Preparate l’attacco contro di lei; levatevi, saliamo in pien mezzodì!” “Guai a noi! ché il giorno declina, e le ombre della sera s’allungano!”
Denunciad guerra contra ella: levantaos y subamos hacia el mediodía. ¡Ay de nosotros! que va cayendo ya el día, que las sombras de la tarde se han extendido.
Prepare ye war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe unto us! for the day goeth away, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.
“Prepare war against her! Arise! Let’s go up at noon. Woe to us! For the day declines, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.
“Levatevi, saliamo di notte, e distruggiamo i suoi palazzi!”
Levantaos, y subamos de noche, y destruyamos sus palacios.
Arise, and let us go by night, and let us destroy her palaces.
Arise! Let’s go up by night, and let’s destroy her palaces.”
Poiché così parla l’Eterno degli eserciti: Abbattete i suoi alberi, ed elevate un bastione contro Gerusalemme; quella è la città che dev’esser punita; dovunque, in mezzo a lei, non v’è che oppressione.
Porque así dijo Jehová de los ejércitos: Cortad árboles, y extended baluarte junto á Jerusalem: esta es la ciudad que toda ella ha de ser visitada; violencia hay en medio de ella.
For thus hath the LORD of hosts said, Hew ye down trees, and cast a mount against Jerusalem: this is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the midst of her.
For the LORD of Armies said, “Cut down trees, and cast up a mound against Jerusalem. This is the city to be visited. She is filled with oppression within herself.
Come un pozzo fa scaturire le sue acque, così ella fa scaturire la sua malvagità; in lei non si sente parlar che di violenza e di rovina; dinanzi a me stanno continuamente sofferenze e piaghe.
Como la fuente nunca cesa de manar sus aguas, así nunca cesa de manar su malicia; injusticia y robo se oye en ella; continuamente en mi presencia, enfermedad y herida.
As a fountain casteth out her waters, so she casteth out her wickedness: violence and spoil is heard in her; before me continually is grief and wounds.
As a well produces its waters, so she produces her wickedness. Violence and destruction is heard in her. Sickness and wounds are continually before me.
Correggiti, o Gerusalemme, affinché l’anima mia non si alieni da te, e io non faccia di te un deserto, una terra disabitata!
Corrígete, Jerusalem, porque no se aparte mi alma de ti, porque no te torne desierta, tierra no habitada.
Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from thee; lest I make thee desolate, a land not inhabited.
Be instructed, Jerusalem, lest my soul be alienated from you, lest I make you a desolation, an uninhabited land.”
Così parla l’Eterno degli eserciti: Il resto d’Israele sarà interamente racimolato come una vigna; mettivi e rimettivi la mano, come fa il vendemmiatore sui tralci.
Así dijo Jehová de los ejércitos: Del todo rebuscarán como á vid el resto de Israel: torna tu mano como vendimiador á los cestos.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall throughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine: turn back thine hand as a grapegatherer into the baskets.
The LORD of Armies says, “They will thoroughly glean the remnant of Israel like a vine. Turn again your hand as a grape gatherer into the baskets.”
A chi parlerò io, chi prenderò a testimonio perché m’ascolti? Ecco, l’orecchio loro è incirconciso, ed essi sono incapaci di prestare attenzione; ecco, la parola dell’Eterno è diventata per loro un obbrobrio, e non vi trovano più alcun piacere.
¿A quién tengo de hablar y amonestar, para que oigan? He aquí que sus orejas son incircuncisas, y no pueden escuchar; he aquí que la palabra de Jehová les es cosa vergonzosa, no la aman.
To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
To whom should I speak and testify, that they may hear? Behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they can’t listen. Behold, the LORD’s word has become a reproach to them. They have no delight in it.
Ma io son pieno del furore dell’Eterno; sono stanco di contenermi. Riversalo ad un tempo sui bambini per la strada e sulle adunate dei giovani; poiché il marito e la moglie, il vecchio e l’uomo carico d’anni saranno tutti presi.
Por tanto estoy lleno de saña de Jehová, trabajado he por contenerme; derramaréla sobre los niños en la calle, y sobre la reunión de los jóvenes juntamente; porque el marido también será preso con la mujer, el viejo con el lleno de días.
Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.

Le loro case saran passate ad altri; e così pure i loro campi e le loro mogli; poiché io stenderò la mia mano sugli abitanti del paese, dice l’Eterno.
Y sus casas serán traspasadas á otros, sus heredades y también sus mujeres; porque extenderé mi mano sobre los moradores de la tierra, dice Jehová.
And their houses shall be turned unto others, with their fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD.

Perché dal più piccolo al più grande, son tutti quanti avidi di guadagno; dal profeta al sacerdote, tutti praticano la menzogna.
Porque desde el más chico de ellos hasta el más grande de ellos, cada uno sigue la avaricia; y desde el profeta hasta el sacerdote, todos son engañadores.
For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.
“For from their least even to their greatest, everyone is given to covetousness. From the prophet even to the priest, everyone deals falsely.
Essi curano alla leggera la piaga del mio popolo; dicono: “Pace, pace”, mentre pace non v’è.
Y curan el quebrantamiento de la hija de mi pueblo con liviandad, diciendo, Paz, paz; y no hay paz.
They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
They have healed also the hurt of my people superficially, saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ when there is no peace.
Saranno confusi perché commettono delle abominazioni; non si vergognano affatto, non sanno che cosa sia arrossire; perciò cadranno fra quelli che cadono; quand’io li visiterò saranno rovesciati, dice l’Eterno.
¿Hanse avergonzado de haber hecho abominación? No por cierto, no se han avergonzado, ni aun saben tener vergüenza: por tanto caerán entre los que caerán; caerán cuando los visitaré, dice Jehová.
Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush. Therefore they will fall among those who fall. When I visit them, they will be cast down,” says the LORD.
Così dice l’Eterno: Fermatevi sulle vie, e guardate, e domandate quali siano i sentieri antichi, dove sia la buona strada, e incamminatevi per essa; e voi troverete riposo alle anime vostre! Ma quelli rispondono: “Non c’incammineremo per essa!”
Así dijo Jehová: Paraos en los caminos, y mirad, y preguntad por las sendas antiguas, cuál sea el buen camino, y andad por él, y hallaréis descanso para vuestra alma. Mas dijeron: No andaremos.
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
The LORD says, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, ‘Where is the good way?’ and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’
Io ho posto presso a voi delle sentinelle: “State attenti al suon della tromba!” Ma quelli rispondono: “Non staremo attenti”.
Desperté también sobre vosotros atalayas, que dijesen: Escuchad á la voz de la trompeta. Y dijeron ellos: No escucharemos.
Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.

Perciò, ascoltate, o nazioni! Sappiate, o assemblea de’ popoli, quello che avverrà loro.
Por tanto oid, gentes, y conoce, oh conjunto de ellas.

Ascolta, o terra! Ecco, io fo venire su questo popolo una calamità, frutto de’ loro pensieri; perché non hanno prestato attenzione alle mie parole; e quanto alla mia legge, l’hanno rigettata.
Oye, tierra. He aquí yo traigo mal sobre este pueblo, el fruto de sus pensamientos; porque no escucharon á mis palabras, y aborrecieron mi ley.
Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.
Hear, earth! Behold, I will bring evil on this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not listened to my words; and as for my law, they have rejected it.
Che m’importa dell’incenso che viene da Seba, della canna odorosa che vien dal paese lontano? I vostri olocausti non mi sono graditi, e i vostri sacrifizi non mi piacciono.
¿A qué viene para mí este incienso de Seba, y la buena caña olorosa de tierra lejana? Vuestros holocaustos no son á mi voluntad, ni vuestros sacrificios me dan gusto.
To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me.
To what purpose does frankincense from Sheba come to me, and the sweet cane from a far country? Your burnt offerings are not acceptable, and your sacrifices are not pleasing to me.”
Perciò così parla l’Eterno: Ecco, io porrò dinanzi a questo popolo delle pietre d’intoppo, nelle quali inciamperanno assieme padri e figliuoli, vicini ed amici, e periranno.
Por tanto Jehová dice esto: He aquí yo pongo á este pueblo tropiezos, y caerán en ellos los padres y los hijos juntamente, el vecino y su cercano perecerán.
Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.
Therefore the LORD says, “Behold, I will lay stumbling blocks before this people. The fathers and the sons together will stumble against them. The neighbor and his friend will perish.”
Così parla l’Eterno: Ecco, un popolo viene dal paese di settentrione, e una grande nazione si muove dalle estremità della terra.
Así ha dicho Jehová: He aquí que viene pueblo de tierra del aquilón, y gente grande se levantará de los cantones de la tierra.
Thus saith the LORD, Behold, a people cometh from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth.
The LORD says, “Behold, a people comes from the north country. A great nation will be stirred up from the uttermost parts of the earth.
Essi impugnano l’arco ed il dardo; son crudeli, non hanno pietà; la loro voce è come il muggito del mare; montan cavalli; son pronti a combattere come un solo guerriero, contro di te, o figliuola di Sion.
Arco y escudo arrebatarán; crueles son, que no tendrán misericordia; sonará la voz de ellos como la mar, y montarán á caballo como hombres dispuestos para la guerra, contra ti, oh hija de Sión.
They shall lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea; and they ride upon horses, set in array as men for war against thee, O daughter of Zion.
They take hold of bow and spear. They are cruel, and have no mercy. Their voice roars like the sea, and they ride on horses, everyone set in array, as a man to the battle, against you, daughter of Zion.”
Noi ne abbiamo udito la fama, e le nostre mani si sono infiacchite; l’angoscia ci coglie, un dolore come di donna che partorisce.
Su fama oimos, y nuestras manos se descoyuntaron; apoderóse de nosotros angustia, dolor como de mujer que pare.
We have heard the fame thereof: our hands wax feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, and pain, as of a woman in travail.
We have heard its report. Our hands become feeble. Anguish has taken hold of us, and pains as of a woman in labor.
Non uscite nei campi, non camminate per le vie, perché la spada del nemico è là, e il terrore d’ogn’intorno.
No salgas al campo, ni andes por camino; porque espada de enemigo y temor hay por todas partes.
Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and fear is on every side.
Don’t go out into the field or walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and terror are on every side.
O figliuola del mio popolo, cingiti d’un sacco, avvoltolati nella cenere, prendi il lutto come per un figliuolo unico, fa’ udire un amaro lamento, perché il devastatore ci piomba addosso improvviso.
Hija de mi pueblo, cíñete de saco, y revuélcate en ceniza; hazte luto como por hijo único, llanto de amarguras: porque presto vendrá sobre nosotros el destruidor.
O daughter of my people, gird thee with sackcloth, and wallow thyself in ashes: make thee mourning, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation: for the spoiler shall suddenly come upon us.
Daughter of my people, clothe yourself with sackcloth, and wallow in ashes! Mourn, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation, for the destroyer will suddenly come on us.
Io t’avevo messo fra il mio popolo come un saggiatore di metalli, perché tu conoscessi e saggiassi la loro via.
Por fortaleza te he puesto en mi pueblo, por torre: conocerás pues, y examinarás el camino de ellos.
I have set thee for a tower and a fortress among my people, that thou mayest know and try their way.
“I have made you a tester of metals and a fortress among my people, that you may know and try their way.
Essi son tutti de’ ribelli fra i ribelli, vanno attorno seminando calunnie, son rame e ferro, son tutti dei corrotti.
Todos ellos príncipes rebeldes, andan con engaño; son cobre y hierro: todos ellos son corruptores.
They are all grievous revolters, walking with slanders: they are brass and iron; they are all corrupters.
They are all grievous rebels, going around to slander. They are bronze and iron. All of them deal corruptly.
Il mantice soffia con forza, il piombo è consumato dal fuoco; invano si cerca di raffinare, ché le scorie non si staccano.
Quemóse el fuelle, del fuego se ha consumido el plomo: por demás fundió el fundidor, pues los malos no son arrancados.
The bellows are burned, the lead is consumed of the fire; the founder melteth in vain: for the wicked are not plucked away.
The bellows blow fiercely. The lead is consumed in the fire. In vain they go on refining, for the wicked are not plucked away.
Saranno chiamati: argento di rifiuto, perché l’Eterno li ha rigettati.
Plata desechada los llamarán, porque Jehová los desechó.
Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the LORD hath rejected them.
Men will call them rejected silver, because the LORD has rejected them.”
