E hicieron que su lengua, como su arco, tirase mentira; y no se fortalecieron por verdad en la tierra: porque de mal en mal procedieron, y me han desconocido, dice Jehová.
And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.
“They bend their tongue, as their bow, for falsehood. They have grown strong in the land, but not for truth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they don’t know me,” says the LORD.
Que cada uno vigile a su prójimo, y no confíe en ningún hermano; porque todo hermano ciertamente engañará a su hermano, y todo vecino hablará mal.
Guárdese cada uno de su compañero, ni en ningún hermano tenga confianza: porque todo hermano engaña con falacia, y todo compañero anda con falsedades.
Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.
“Everyone beware of his neighbor, and don’t trust in any brother; for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will go around like a slanderer.
Todo el mundo se burlará de su prójimo con engaño, sin decir lo que es verdadero; sus lenguas han sido entrenadas para decir mentiras; se afanan por cometer iniquidad.
Y cada uno engaña á su compañero, y no hablan verdad: enseñaron su lengua á hablar mentira, se ocupan de hacer perversamente.
And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.

Tu morada está en medio del engaño; por causa del engaño han renunciado a mi conocimiento, dice el Señor.

Entonces el Señor de los ejércitos dijo: Mira, los refinare en el fuego y los pondré a prueba; Esto lo haré por su maldad.
Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: He aquí que yo los fundiré, y los ensayaré; porque ¿cómo he de hacer por la hija de mi pueblo?
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how shall I do for the daughter of my people?

Su lengua es una flecha que causa la muerte; Las palabras de su boca son engañosas: dice palabras de paz a su prójimo, pero en su corazón lo está esperando en secreto.
Saeta afilada es la lengua de ellos; engaño habla; con su boca habla paz con su amigo, y dentro de sí pone sus asechanzas.
Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.
Their tongue is a deadly arrow. It speaks deceit. One speaks peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, but in his heart, he waits to ambush him.
¿No debo enviar castigo por estas cosas? dice el Señor: ¿no aceptará mi alma venganza de una nación como esta?
¿No los tengo de visitar sobre estas cosas? dice Jehová. ¿De tal gente no se vengará mi alma?
Shall I not visit them for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
Shouldn’t I punish them for these things?” says the LORD. “Shouldn’t my soul be avenged on a nation such as this?
Levanten lloro, clamando por el dolor de los montes; y por los campos del desierto envíen un canto de dolor, porque se queman, para que nadie pase; no hay sonido de ganado; El pájaro de los cielos y la bestia están en vuelo y se han ido.
Sobre los montes levantaré lloro y lamentación, y llanto sobre las moradas del desierto; porque desolados fueron hasta no quedar quien pase, ni oyeron bramido de ganado: desde las aves del cielo y hasta las bestias de la tierra se trasportaron, y se fueron.
For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for the habitations of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none can pass through them; neither can men hear the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the beast are fled; they are gone.
I will weep and wail for the mountains, and lament for the pastures of the wilderness, because they are burned up, so that no one passes through; Men can’t hear the voice of the livestock. Both the birds of the sky and the animals have fled. They are gone.
Y haré de Jerusalén un montón de piedras, el lugar de vida de los chacales; y haré de los pueblos de Judá ruinas, donde ningún hombre vivirá allí.
Y pondré á Jerusalem en montones, por morada de culebras; y pondré las ciudades de Judá en asolamiento, que no quede morador.
And I will make Jerusalem heaps, and a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant.

¿Quién es el sabio capaz de ver esto? ¿Quién es aquel a quien ha venido la palabra del Señor, para que lo aclare? ¿Por qué la tierra se da a la destrucción y se quema, quedará como un desierto, para que nadie pase?
¿Quién es varón sabio que entienda esto? ¿y á quién habló la boca de Jehová, para que pueda declararlo? ¿Por qué causa la tierra ha perecido, ha sido asolada como desierto, que no hay quien pase?
Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth and is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through?
Who is wise enough to understand this? Who is he to whom the mouth of the LORD has spoken, that he may declare it? Why has the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that no one passes through?
Y el Señor dijo: Porque han renunciado a mi ley que les he puesto delante, sin prestar atención a mi voz y no dejándose guiar por ella;

And the LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;

Pero ellos han estado caminando en el orgullo de sus corazones, persiguiendo a los baales, como sus padres les dieron la enseñanza.
Antes se fueron tras la imaginación de su corazón, y en pos de los Baales que les enseñaron sus padres:

Así que el Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel, ha dicho: Les daré a ellos, también a esta gente, plantas amargas para comer y agua amarga para beber.
Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: He aquí que á este pueblo yo les daré á comer ajenjos, y les daré á beber aguas de hiel.
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.

Esto es lo que el Señor de los ejércitos ha dicho: consideren y llamen a las mujeres que lloran, para que vengan; y llamen a las mujeres sabias, para que vengan;
Así dice Jehová de los ejércitos: Considerad, y llamad plañideras que vengan; y enviad por las sabias que vengan:

Dejen que ellas rápidamente nos hagan gritos de tristeza, para que se llenen de lágrimas nuestros ojos y nuestros párpados se inunden de llanto.

Pero ahora, escucha la palabra del Señor, oh mujeres; deja que tus oídos estén abiertos a la palabra de su boca, entrenando a tus hijas para que griten de tristeza, y todos le enseñan a su vecino una canción de dolor.
Oid pues, oh mujeres, palabra de Jehová, y vuestro oído reciba la palabra de su boca; y enseñad endechas á vuestras hijas, y cada una á su amiga, lamentación.

Porque la muerte ha subido por nuestras ventanas, forzando su camino hacia nuestros palacios; talando a los niños en las calles y a los jóvenes en las plazas.

Los cuerpos de los hombres caerán tendidos como estiércol en los campos abiertos, y como el grano arrojado por el cortador de granos, y nadie los levantará.
Habla: Así ha dicho Jehová: Los cuerpos de los hombres muertos caerán como estiércol sobre la haz del campo, y como manojo tras el segador, que no hay quien lo recoja.
Speak, Thus saith the LORD, Even the carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the harvestman, and none shall gather them.

Esta es la palabra del Señor: No permitas que el hombre sabio se enorgullezca de su sabiduría, o el hombre fuerte en su fortaleza, o el hombre de riqueza en su riqueza.
Así dijo Jehová: No se alabe el sabio en su sabiduría, ni en su valentía se alabe el valiente, ni el rico se alabe en sus riquezas.
Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
The LORD says, “Don’t let the wise man glory in his wisdom. Don’t let the mighty man glory in his might. Don’t let the rich man glory in his riches.
Pero si alguno tiene orgullo, tenga esto en cuenta, que tenga la sabiduría de saber de mí, que yo soy el Señor, obrando misericordia, dando verdaderas decisiones y haciendo justicia en la tierra; Estas cosas me deleitan, dice el Señor.
Mas alábese en esto el que se hubiere de alabar: en entenderme y conocerme, que yo soy Jehová, que hago misericordia, juicio, y justicia en la tierra: porque estas cosas quiero, dice Jehová.
But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

Mira, viene el día, dice el Señor, cuando enviaré castigo a todos los que son incircuncisos;

A Egipto, y á Judá, y á Edom, y á los hijos de Ammón y de Moab, y á todos los arrinconados en el postrer rincón, que moran en el desierto; porque todas las gentes tienen prepucio, y toda la casa de Israel tiene prepucio en el corazón.
Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.
