(8:23) Oh that one would make my head water, and my eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughters of my people!

¡Oh quién me diese en el desierto un mesón de caminantes, para que dejase mi pueblo, y de ellos me apartase! Porque todos ellos son adúlteros, congregación de prevaricadores.

(9:2) And they bend their tongues, their bow of falsehood, and not for the truth are they valiant in the land; for from evil to evil do they proceed, and me they know not, saith the Lord.
E hicieron que su lengua, como su arco, tirase mentira; y no se fortalecieron por verdad en la tierra: porque de mal en mal procedieron, y me han desconocido, dice Jehová.
And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.
“They bend their tongue, as their bow, for falsehood. They have grown strong in the land, but not for truth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they don’t know me,” says the LORD.
(9:3) Take ye heed every one of his neighbor, and on any brother place ye no reliance; for every brother will surely supplant, and every neighbor will go about as a talebearer.
Guárdese cada uno de su compañero, ni en ningún hermano tenga confianza: porque todo hermano engaña con falacia, y todo compañero anda con falsedades.
Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.
“Everyone beware of his neighbor, and don’t trust in any brother; for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will go around like a slanderer.
(9:4) And they will deceive every one his neighbor, and the truth will they not speak: they have taught their tongue to speak falsehood, they weary themselves to commit iniquity.
Y cada uno engaña á su compañero, y no hablan verdad: enseñaron su lengua á hablar mentira, se ocupan de hacer perversamente.
And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.
Friends deceive each other, and will not speak the truth. They have taught their tongue to speak lies. They weary themselves committing iniquity.
(9:5) Thy habitation is in the midst of deceit: through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the Lord.
Tu morada es en medio de engaño; de muy engañadores no quisieron conocerme, dice Jehová.

(9:6) Therefore thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and probe them; for how else shall I do because of the daughter of my people?
Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: He aquí que yo los fundiré, y los ensayaré; porque ¿cómo he de hacer por la hija de mi pueblo?
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how shall I do for the daughter of my people?

(9:7) A murderous arrow is their tongue; every one speaketh deceit: with his mouth speaketh he peaceably to his neighbor, but in his heart he layeth wait for him.
Saeta afilada es la lengua de ellos; engaño habla; con su boca habla paz con su amigo, y dentro de sí pone sus asechanzas.
Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.
Their tongue is a deadly arrow. It speaks deceit. One speaks peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, but in his heart, he waits to ambush him.
(9:8) Shall I not for these things inflict punishment on them? saith the Lord: or shall not on a nation such as this my soul be avenged?
¿No los tengo de visitar sobre estas cosas? dice Jehová. ¿De tal gente no se vengará mi alma?
Shall I not visit them for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
Shouldn’t I punish them for these things?” says the LORD. “Shouldn’t my soul be avenged on a nation such as this?
(9:9) For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for the habitations of the wilderness a lamentation; because they are burnt up, so that no man can pass through them; and they hear not the voice of the cattle: both the fowls of the heavens and the beasts are fled; they are gone away.
Sobre los montes levantaré lloro y lamentación, y llanto sobre las moradas del desierto; porque desolados fueron hasta no quedar quien pase, ni oyeron bramido de ganado: desde las aves del cielo y hasta las bestias de la tierra se trasportaron, y se fueron.
For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for the habitations of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none can pass through them; neither can men hear the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the beast are fled; they are gone.
I will weep and wail for the mountains, and lament for the pastures of the wilderness, because they are burned up, so that no one passes through; Men can’t hear the voice of the livestock. Both the birds of the sky and the animals have fled. They are gone.
(9:10) And I will change Jerusalem into heaps of ruins, a dwelling for monsters: and the cities of Judah will I make desolate, without an inhabitant.
Y pondré á Jerusalem en montones, por morada de culebras; y pondré las ciudades de Judá en asolamiento, que no quede morador.
And I will make Jerusalem heaps, and a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant.
“I will make Jerusalem heaps, a dwelling place of jackals. I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.”
(9:11) Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of the Lord hath spoken, that he may declare it: for what is the land destroyed, burnt up like the wilderness, without one that passeth through?
¿Quién es varón sabio que entienda esto? ¿y á quién habló la boca de Jehová, para que pueda declararlo? ¿Por qué causa la tierra ha perecido, ha sido asolada como desierto, que no hay quien pase?
Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth and is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through?
Who is wise enough to understand this? Who is he to whom the mouth of the LORD has spoken, that he may declare it? Why has the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that no one passes through?
(9:12) And the Lord said, Because they forsook my law which I had set before them, and hearkened not to my voice, and walked not therein;
Y dijo Jehová: Porque dejaron mi ley, la cual dí delante de ellos, y no obedecieron á mi voz, ni caminaron conforme á ella;
And the LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;
The LORD says, “Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice or walked in my ways,
(9:13) But have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart, and after the Bealim, which their fathers had taught them.

(9:14) Therefore thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I will feed themthis people, with wormwood, and give them poisonwater to drink.
Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: He aquí que á este pueblo yo les daré á comer ajenjos, y les daré á beber aguas de hiel.
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.

(9:15) And I will scatter them among the nations, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send out after them the sword, till I have consumed them.
Y los esparciré entre gentes que no conocieron ellos ni sus padres; y enviaré espada en pos de ellos, hasta que yo los acabe.

(9:16) Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Consider it well, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for the women skilled in lament, that they may come;
Así dice Jehová de los ejércitos: Considerad, y llamad plañideras que vengan; y enviad por las sabias que vengan:

(9:17) And let them make haste, and take up for us a lamentation, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids drop down water.
Y dense prisa, y levanten llanto sobre nosotros, y córranse nuestros ojos en lágrimas, y nuestros párpados en aguas se destilen.

(9:18) For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we wasted! we are greatly ashamed; because we have forsaken the land, because they have cast down our dwellings.
Porque voz de endecha fué oída de Sión: ¡Cómo hemos sido destruídos! en gran manera hemos sido confundidos. ¿Por qué dejamos la tierra? ¿por qué nos han echado de sí nuestras moradas?
For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we spoiled! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast us out.

(9:19) For hear, O ye women, the word of the Lord, and let your ear perceive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbor lamentation.
Oid pues, oh mujeres, palabra de Jehová, y vuestro oído reciba la palabra de su boca; y enseñad endechas á vuestras hijas, y cada una á su amiga, lamentación.
Yet hear the word of the LORD, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbour lamentation.

(9:20) For death is come up through our windows, is entered into our palaces; to cut off the children from the street, the young men from the open places.
Porque la muerte ha subido por nuestras ventanas, ha entrado en nuestros palacios; para talar los niños de las calles, los mancebos de las plazas.

(9:21) Speak, Thus saith the Lord, Yea, the carcasses of men shall lie as dung upon the open field, and as the sheaves left after the harvestman, with none to gather them.
Habla: Así ha dicho Jehová: Los cuerpos de los hombres muertos caerán como estiércol sobre la haz del campo, y como manojo tras el segador, que no hay quien lo recoja.
Speak, Thus saith the LORD, Even the carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the harvestman, and none shall gather them.
Speak, “The LORD says, “‘The dead bodies of men will fall as dung on the open field, and as the handful after the harvester. No one will gather them.’”
(9:22) Thus hath said the Lord, Let not the wise glorify himself in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glorify himself in his might, let not the rich glorify himself in his riches;
Así dijo Jehová: No se alabe el sabio en su sabiduría, ni en su valentía se alabe el valiente, ni el rico se alabe en sus riquezas.
Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
The LORD says, “Don’t let the wise man glory in his wisdom. Don’t let the mighty man glory in his might. Don’t let the rich man glory in his riches.
(9:23) But let him that glorifieth himself glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord who exercise kindness, justice, and righteousness, on the earth; for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.
Mas alábese en esto el que se hubiere de alabar: en entenderme y conocerme, que yo soy Jehová, que hago misericordia, juicio, y justicia en la tierra: porque estas cosas quiero, dice Jehová.
But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.
But let him who glories glory in this, that he has understanding, and knows me, that I am the LORD who exercises loving kindness, justice, and righteousness in the earth, for I delight in these things,” says the LORD.
(9:24) Behold, days are coming, saith the Lord, that I will send punishment on all the circumcised who are yet uncircumcised;
He aquí que vienen días, dice Jehová, y visitaré sobre todo circuncidado, y sobre todo incircunciso:
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will punish all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised;
“Behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that I will punish all those who are circumcised only in their flesh:
(9:25) On Egypt, and on Judah, and on Edom, and on the children of Ammon, and on Moab, and all who have the locks of their hair cut off round that dwell in the wilderness; for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.
A Egipto, y á Judá, y á Edom, y á los hijos de Ammón y de Moab, y á todos los arrinconados en el postrer rincón, que moran en el desierto; porque todas las gentes tienen prepucio, y toda la casa de Israel tiene prepucio en el corazón.
Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.
