1Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wer nicht durch die Tür in den Hof der Schafe eingeht, sondern anderswo hinübersteigt, der ist ein Dieb und ein Räuber.
2Wer aber durch die Tür eingeht, ist Hirte der Schafe.
3Diesem tut der Türhüter auf, und die Schafe hören seine Stimme, und er ruft seine eigenen Schafe mit Namen und führt sie heraus.
4Wenn er seine eigenen Schafe alle herausgebracht hat, geht er vor ihnen her, und die Schafe folgen ihm, weil sie seine Stimme kennen.
5Einem Fremden aber werden sie nicht folgen, sondern werden vor ihm fliehen, weil sie die Stimme der Fremden nicht kennen.
6Dieses Gleichnis sprach Jesus zu ihnen; sie aber verstanden nicht, was es war, das er zu ihnen redete.
7Jesus sprach nun wiederum zu ihnen: Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Ich bin die Tür der Schafe.
8Alle, die irgend vor mir gekommen, sind Diebe und Räuber; aber die Schafe hörten nicht auf sie.
9Ich bin die Tür; wenn jemand durch mich eingeht, so wird er errettet werden und wird ein-und ausgehen und Weide finden.
10Der Dieb kommt nur, um zu stehlen und zu schlachten und zu verderben. Ich bin gekommen, auf daß sie Leben haben und es in Überfluß haben.
11Ich bin der gute Hirte; der gute Hirte läßt sein Leben für die Schafe.
12Der Mietling aber und der nicht Hirte ist, dem die Schafe nicht eigen sind, sieht den Wolf kommen und verläßt die Schafe und flieht; und der Wolf raubt sie und zerstreut [die Schafe.
13Der Mietling aber flieht,] weil er ein Mietling ist und sich um die Schafe nicht kümmert.
14Ich bin der gute Hirte; und ich kenne die Meinen und bin gekannt von den Meinen,
15gleichwie der Vater mich kennt und ich den Vater kenne; und ich lasse mein Leben für die Schafe.
16Und ich habe andere Schafe, die nicht aus diesem Hofe sind; auch diese muß ich bringen, und sie werden meine Stimme hören, und es wird eine Herde, ein Hirte sein.
17Darum liebt mich der Vater, weil ich mein Leben lasse, auf daß ich es wiedernehme.
18Niemand nimmt es von mir, sondern ich lasse es von mir selbst. Ich habe Gewalt, es zu lassen, und habe Gewalt, es wiederzunehmen. Dieses Gebot habe ich von meinem Vater empfangen.
19Es entstand wiederum ein Zwiespalt unter den Juden dieser Worte wegen.
20Viele aber von ihnen sagten: Er hat einen Dämon und ist von Sinnen; was höret ihr ihn?
21Andere sagten: Diese Reden sind nicht die eines Besessenen; kann etwa ein Dämon der Blinden Augen auftun?
22Es war aber das Fest der Tempelweihe in Jerusalem; [und] es war Winter.
23Und Jesus wandelte in dem Tempel, in der Säulenhalle Salomons.
24Da umringten ihn die Juden und sprachen zu ihm: Bis wann hältst du unsere Seele hin? Wenn du der Christus bist, so sage es uns frei heraus.
25Jesus antwortete ihnen: Ich habe es euch gesagt, und ihr glaubet nicht. Die Werke, die ich in dem Namen meines Vaters tue, diese zeugen von mir;
26aber ihr glaubet nicht, denn ihr seid nicht von meinen Schafen, wie ich euch gesagt habe.
27Meine Schafe hören meine Stimme, und ich kenne sie, und sie folgen mir;
28und ich gebe ihnen ewiges Leben, und sie gehen nicht verloren ewiglich, und niemand wird sie aus meiner Hand rauben.
29Mein Vater, der sie mir gegeben hat, ist größer als alles, und niemand kann sie aus der Hand meines Vaters rauben.
30Ich und der Vater sind eins.
31Da hoben die Juden wiederum Steine auf, auf daß sie ihn steinigten.
32Jesus antwortete ihnen: Viele gute Werke habe ich euch von meinem Vater gezeigt; für welches Werk unter denselben steiniget ihr mich?
33Die Juden antworteten ihm: Wegen eines guten Werkes steinigen wir dich nicht, sondern wegen Lästerung, und weil du, der du ein Mensch bist, dich selbst zu Gott machst.
34Jesus antwortete ihnen: Steht nicht in eurem Gesetz geschrieben: “Ich habe gesagt: Ihr seid Götter?”
35Wenn er jene Götter nannte, zu welchen das Wort Gottes geschah (und die Schrift kann nicht aufgelöst werden),
36saget ihr von dem, welchen der Vater geheiligt und in die Welt gesandt hat: Du lästerst, weil ich sagte: Ich bin Gottes Sohn? -
37Wenn ich nicht die Werke meines Vaters tue, so glaubet mir nicht;
38wenn ich sie aber tue, so glaubet den Werken, wenn ihr auch mir nicht glaubet, auf daß ihr erkennet und glaubet, daß der Vater in mir ist und ich in ihm.
39Da suchten sie wiederum ihn zu greifen, und er entging ihrer Hand.
40Und er ging wieder weg jenseit des Jordan an den Ort, wo Johannes zuerst taufte, und er blieb daselbst.
41Und viele kamen zu ihm und sagten: Johannes tat zwar kein Zeichen; alles aber, was Johannes von diesem gesagt hat, war wahr.
42Und viele glaubten daselbst an ihn.

1DE cierto, de cierto os digo: El que no entra por la puerta en el corral de las ovejas, mas sube por otra parte, el tal es ladrón y robador.
2Mas el que entra por la puerta, el pastor de las ovejas es.
3A éste abre el portero, y las ovejas oyen su voz: y á sus ovejas llama por nombre, y las saca.
4Y como ha sacado fuera todas las propias, va delante de ellas; y las ovejas le siguen, porque conocen su voz.
5Mas al extraño no seguirán, antes huirán de él: porque no conocen la voz de los extraños.
6Esta parábola les dijo Jesús; mas ellos no entendieron qué era lo que les decía.
7Volvióles, pues, Jesús á decir: De cierto, de cierto os digo: Yo soy la puerta de las ovejas.
8Todos los que antes de mí vinieron, ladrones son y robadores; mas no los oyeron las ovejas.
9Yo soy la puerta: el que por mí entrare, será salvo; y entrará, y saldrá, y hallará pastos.
10El ladrón no viene sino para hurtar, y matar, y destruir: yo he venido para que tengan vida, y para que la tengan en abundancia.
11Yo soy el buen pastor: el buen pastor su vida da por las ovejas.
12Mas el asalariado, y que no es el pastor, de quien no son propias las ovejas, ve al lobo que viene, y deja las ovejas, y huye, y el lobo las arrebata, y esparce las ovejas.
13Así que, el asalariado, huye, porque es asalariado, y no tiene cuidado de las ovejas.
14Yo soy el buen pastor; y conozco mis ovejas, y las mías me conocen.
15Como el Padre me conoce, y yo conozco al Padre; y pongo mi vida por las ovejas.
16También tengo otras ovejas que no son de este redil; aquéllas también me conviene traer, y oirán mi voz; y habrá un rebaño, y un pastor.
17Por eso me ama el Padre, porque yo pongo mi vida, para volverla á tomar.
18Nadie me la quita, mas yo la pongo de mí mismo. Tengo poder para ponerla, y tengo poder para volverla á tomar. Este mandamiento recibí de mi Padre.
19Y volvió á haber disensión entre los Judíos por estas palabras.
20Y muchos de ellos decían: Demonio tiene, y está fuera de sí; ¿para qué le oís?
21Decían otros: Estas palabras no son de endemoniado: ¿puede el demonio abrir los ojos de los ciegos?
22Y se hacía la fiesta de la dedicación en Jerusalem; y era invierno;
23Y Jesús andaba en el templo por el portal de Salomón.
24Y rodeáronle los Judíos y dijéronle: ¿Hasta cuándo nos has de turbar el alma? Si tú eres el Cristo, dínoslo abiertamente.
25Respondióles Jesús: Os lo he dicho, y no creéis: las obras que yo hago en nombre de mi Padre, ellas dan testimonio de mí;
26Mas vosotros no creéis, porque no sois de mis ovejas, como os he dicho.
27Mis ovejas oyen mi voz, y yo las conozco, y me siguen;
28Y yo les doy vida eterna: y no perecerán para siempre, ni nadie las arrebatará de mi mano.
29Mi Padre que me las dió, mayor que todos es: y nadie las puede arrebatar de la mano de mi Padre.
30Yo y el Padre una cosa somos.
31Entonces volvieron á tomar piedras los Judíos para apedrearle.
32Respondióles Jesús: Muchas buenas obras os he mostrado de mi Padre; ¿por cuál obra de esas me apedreáis?
33Respondiéronle los Judíos, diciendo: Por buena obra no te apedreamos, sino por la blasfemia; y porque tú, siendo hombre, te haces Dios.
34Respondióles Jesús: ¿No está escrito en vuestra ley: Yo dije, Dioses sois?
35Si dijo, dioses, á aquellos á los cuales fué hecha palabra de Dios (y la Escritura no puede ser quebrantada);
36¿A quien el Padre santificó y envió al mundo, vosotros decís: Tú blasfemas, porque dije: Hijo de Dios soy?
37Si no hago obras de mi Padre, no me creáis.
38Mas si las hago, aunque á mí no creáis, creed á las obras; para que conozcáis y creáis que el Padre está en mí, y yo en el Padre.
39Y procuraban otra vez prenderle; mas él se salió de sus manos;
40Y volvióse tras el Jordán, á aquel lugar donde primero había estado bautizando Juan; y estúvose allí.
41Y muchos venían á él, y decían: Juan, á la verdad, ninguna señal hizo; mas todo lo que Juan dijo de éste, era verdad.
42Y muchos creyeron allí en él.

1Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
4And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
5And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
6This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
7Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
12But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
13The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
14I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
15As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
17Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
19There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.
20And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?
21Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?
22And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.
23And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch.
24Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.
25Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.
26But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
30I and my Father are one.
31Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
36Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
37If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
38But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
39Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,
40And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.
41And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true.
42And many believed on him there.

1“Most certainly, I tell you, one who doesn’t enter by the door into the sheep fold, but climbs up some other way, is a thief and a robber.
2But one who enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
4Whenever he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
5They will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him; for they don’t know the voice of strangers.”
6Jesus spoke this parable to them, but they didn’t understand what he was telling them.
7Jesus therefore said to them again, “Most certainly, I tell you, I am the sheep’s door.
8All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep didn’t listen to them.
9I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out and will find pasture.
10The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.
11“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
12He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who doesn’t own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, leaves the sheep, and flees. The wolf snatches the sheep and scatters them.
13The hired hand flees because he is a hired hand and doesn’t care for the sheep.
14I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and I’m known by my own;
15even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. I lay down my life for the sheep.
16I have other sheep which are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will hear my voice. They will become one flock with one shepherd.
17Therefore the Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.
18No one takes it away from me, but I lay it down by myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. I received this commandment from my Father.”
19Therefore a division arose again among the Jews because of these words.
20Many of them said, “He has a demon and is insane! Why do you listen to him?”
21Others said, “These are not the sayings of one possessed by a demon. It isn’t possible for a demon to open the eyes of the blind, is it?”
22It was the Feast of the Dedication at Jerusalem.
23It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in Solomon’s porch.
24The Jews therefore came around him and said to him, “How long will you hold us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”
25Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you don’t believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name, these testify about me.
26But you don’t believe, because you are not of my sheep, as I told you.
27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
28I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
29My Father who has given them to me is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.
30I and the Father are one.”
31Therefore the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of those works do you stone me?”
33The Jews answered him, “We don’t stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.”
34Jesus answered them, “Isn’t it written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods’?
35If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture can’t be broken),
36do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?
37If I don’t do the works of my Father, don’t believe me.
38But if I do them, though you don’t believe me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”
39They sought again to seize him, and he went out of their hand.
40He went away again beyond the Jordan into the place where John was baptizing at first, and he stayed there.
41Many came to him. They said, “John indeed did no sign, but everything that John said about this man is true.”
42Many believed in him there.
