Danach spricht er zu seinen Jüngern: Lasset uns wieder nach Judäa ziehen!

ESTABA entonces enfermo uno llamado Lázaro, de Bethania, la aldea de María y de Marta su hermana.

Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.

Seine Jünger sprachen zu ihm: Meister, jenesmal wollten die Juden dich steinigen, und du willst wieder dahin ziehen?

(Y María, cuyo hermano Lázaro estaba enfermo, era la que ungió al Señor con ungüento, y limpió sus pies con sus cabellos.)

(It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)

It was that Mary who had anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.

Jesus antwortete: Sind nicht des Tages zwölf Stunden? Wer des Tages wandelt, der stößet sich nicht, denn er siehet das Licht dieser Welt.

Enviaron, pues, sus hermanas á él, diciendo: Señor, he aquí, el que amas está enfermo.

Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.

The sisters therefore sent to him, saying, “Lord, behold, he for whom you have great affection is sick.”

Wer aber des Nachts wandelt, der stößet sich, denn es ist kein Licht in ihm.

Y oyéndolo Jesús, dijo: Esta enfermedad no es para muerte, mas por gloria de Dios, para que el Hijo de Dios sea glorificado por ella.

When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

But when Jesus heard it, he said, “This sickness is not to death, but for the glory of God, that God’s Son may be glorified by it.”

Solches sagte er, und danach spricht er zu ihnen: Lazarus, unser Freund, schläft; aber ich gehe hin, daß ich ihn aufwecke.

Y amaba Jesús á Marta, y á su hermana, y á Lázaro.

Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.

Da sprachen seine Jünger: HERR, schläft er, so wird's besser mit ihm.

Como oyó pues que estaba enfermo, quedóse aún dos días en aquel lugar donde estaba.

When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.

When therefore he heard that he was sick, he stayed two days in the place where he was.

Jesus aber sagte von seinem Tode; sie meineten aber, er redete vom leiblichen Schlaf.

Luego, después de esto, dijo á los discípulos: Vamos á Judea otra vez.

Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judæa again.

Then after this he said to the disciples, “Let’s go into Judea again.”

Da sagte es ihnen Jesus frei heraus: Lazarus ist gestorben.

Dícenle los discípulos: Rabbí, ahora procuraban los Judíos apedrearte, ¿y otra vez vas allá?

His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?

The disciples asked him, “Rabbi, the Jews were just trying to stone you. Are you going there again?”

Und ich bin froh um euretwillen, daß ich nicht dagewesen bin, auf daß ihr glaubet. Aber lasset uns zu ihm ziehen!

Respondió Jesús: ¿No tiene el día doce horas? El que anduviere de día, no tropieza, porque ve la luz de este mundo.

Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.

Jesus answered, “Aren’t there twelve hours of daylight? If a man walks in the day, he doesn’t stumble, because he sees the light of this world.

Da sprach Thomas, der da genannt ist Zwilling, zu den Jüngern: Lasset uns mit ziehen, daß wir mit ihm sterben!

Mas el que anduviere de noche, tropieza, porque no hay luz en él.

But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.

But if a man walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light isn’t in him.”

Da kam Jesus und fand ihn, daß er schon vier Tage im Grabe gelegen war.

Dicho esto, díceles después: Lázaro nuestro amigo duerme; mas voy á despertarle del sueño.

These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

He said these things, and after that, he said to them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going so that I may awake him out of sleep.”

(Bethanien aber war nahe bei Jerusalem, bei fünfzehn Feldweges.)

Dijeron entonces sus discípulos: Señor, si duerme, salvo estará.

Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.

The disciples therefore said, “Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover.”

Und viel Juden waren, zu Martha und Maria kommen, sie zu trösten über ihren Bruder.

Mas esto decía Jesús de la muerte de él: y ellos pensaron que hablaba del reposar del sueño.

Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.

Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that he spoke of taking rest in sleep.

Als Martha nun hörete, daß Jesus kommt, gehet sie ihm entgegen; Maria aber blieb daheim sitzen.

Entonces, pues, Jesús les dijo claramente: Lázaro es muerto;

Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

So Jesus said to them plainly then, “Lazarus is dead.

Da sprach Martha zu Jesu: HERR, wärest du hier gewesen, mein Bruder wäre nicht gestorben;

Y huélgome por vosotros, que yo no haya estado allí, para que creáis: mas vamos á él.

And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.

I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, so that you may believe. Nevertheless, let’s go to him.”

aber ich weiß auch noch, daß, was du bittest von Gott, das wird dir Gott geben.

Dijo entonces Tomás, el que se dice el Dídimo, á sus condiscípulos: Vamos también nosotros, para que muramos con él.

Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.

Thomas therefore, who is called Didymus, said to his fellow disciples, “Let’s also go, that we may die with him.”

Jesus spricht zu ihr: Dein Bruder soll auferstehen.

Vino pues Jesús, y halló que había ya cuatro días que estaba en el sepulcro.

Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.

So when Jesus came, he found that he had been in the tomb four days already.

Martha spricht zu ihm: Ich weiß wohl, daß er auferstehen wird in der Auferstehung am Jüngsten Tage.

Y Bethania estaba cerca de Jerusalem, como quince estadios;

Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:

Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about fifteen stadia away.

Jesus spricht zu ihr: Ich bin die Auferstehung und das Leben. Wer an mich glaubet, der wird leben, ob er gleich stürbe;

Y muchos de los Judíos habían venido á Marta y á María, á consolarlas de su hermano.

And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.

Many of the Jews had joined the women around Martha and Mary, to console them concerning their brother.

und wer da lebet und glaubet an mich, der wird nimmermehr sterben. Glaubest du das?

Entonces Marta, como oyó que Jesús venía, salió á encontrarle; mas María se estuvo en casa.

Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.

Then when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary stayed in the house.

Sie spricht zu ihm: HERR, ja, ich glaube, daß du bist Christus, der Sohn Gottes, der in die Welt kommen ist.

Y Marta dijo á Jesús: Señor, si hubieses estado aquí, mi hermano no fuera muerto;

Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

Therefore Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you would have been here, my brother wouldn’t have died.

Und da sie das gesagt hatte, ging sie hin und rief ihre Schwester Maria heimlich und sprach: Der Meister ist da und rufet dich.

Mas también sé ahora, que todo lo que pidieres de Dios, te dará Dios.

But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.

Even now I know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you.”

Dieselbige, als sie das hörete, stund sie eilend auf und kam zu ihm.

Dícele Jesús: Resucitará tu hermano.

Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.

Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”

Denn Jesus war noch nicht in den Flecken kommen, sondern war noch an dem Ort, da ihm Martha war entgegenkommen.

Marta le dice: Yo sé que resucitará en la resurrección en el día postrero.

Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”

Die Juden, die bei ihr im Hause waren und trösteten sie, da sie sahen Maria, daß sie eilend aufstund und hinausging, folgten sie ihr nach und sprachen: Sie gehet hin zum Grabe, daß sie daselbst weine.

Dícele Jesús: Yo soy la resurrección y la vida: el que cree en mí, aunque esté muerto, vivirá.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies.

Als nun Maria kam, da Jesus war, und sah ihn, fiel sie zu seinen Füßen und sprach zu ihm: HERR, wärest du hier gewesen, mein Bruder wäre nicht gestorben.

Y todo aquel que vive y cree en mí, no morirá eternamente. ¿Crees esto?

And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

Als Jesus sie sah weinen und die Juden auch weinen, die mit ihr kamen, ergrimmete er im Geist und betrübte sich selbst

Dícele: Sí, Señor; yo he creído que tú eres el Cristo, el Hijo de Dios, que has venido al mundo.

She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.

She said to him, “Yes, Lord. I have come to believe that you are the Christ, God’s Son, he who comes into the world.”

und sprach: Wo habt ihr ihn hingelegt? Sie sprachen zu ihm: HERR, komm und sieh es!

Y esto dicho, fuése, y llamó en secreto á María su hermana, diciendo: El Maestro está aquí y te llama.

And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.

When she had said this, she went away and called Mary, her sister, secretly, saying, “The Teacher is here and is calling you.”

Und Jesu gingen die Augen über.

Ella, como lo oyó, levántase prestamente y viene á él.

As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him.

When she heard this, she arose quickly and went to him.

Da sprachen die Juden: Siehe, wie hat er ihn so liebgehabt!

(Que aun no había llegado Jesús á la aldea, mas estaba en aquel lugar donde Marta le había encontrado.)

Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him.

Now Jesus had not yet come into the village, but was in the place where Martha met him.

Etliche aber unter ihnen sprachen: Konnte, der dem Blinden die Augen aufgetan hat, nicht verschaffen, daß auch dieser nicht stürbe?

Entonces los Judíos que estaban en casa con ella, y la consolaban, como vieron que María se había levantado prestamente, y había salido, siguiéronla, diciendo: Va al sepulcro á llorar allí.

The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there.

Then the Jews who were with her in the house and were consoling her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up quickly and went out, followed her, saying, “She is going to the tomb to weep there.”

Jesus aber ergrimmete abermal in sich selbst und kam zum Grabe. Es war aber eine Kluft und ein Stein darauf gelegt.

Mas María, como vino donde estaba Jesús, viéndole, derribóse á sus pies, diciéndole: Señor, si hubieras estado aquí, no fuera muerto mi hermano.

Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

Therefore when Mary came to where Jesus was and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying to him, “Lord, if you would have been here, my brother wouldn’t have died.”

Jesus sprach: Hebet den Stein ab! Spricht zu ihm Martha, die Schwester des Verstorbenen: HERR, er stinkt schon; denn er ist vier Tage gelegen.

Jesús entonces, como la vió llorando, y á los Judíos que habían venido juntamente con ella llorando, se conmovió en espíritu, y turbóse,

When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,

Jesus spricht zu ihr: Hab' ich dir nicht gesagt, so du glauben würdest, du solltest die HERRLIchkeit Gottes sehen?

Y dijo: ¿Dónde le pusisteis? Dícenle: Señor, ven, y ve.

And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.

and said, “Where have you laid him?” They told him, “Lord, come and see.”

Da huben sie den Stein ab, da der Verstorbene lag. Jesus aber hub seine Augen empor und sprach: Vater, ich danke dir, daß du mich erhöret hast!

Y lloró Jesús.

Jesus wept.

Jesus wept.

Doch ich weiß, daß du mich allezeit hörest, sondern um des Volks willen, das umherstehet, sage ich's, daß sie glauben, du habest mich gesandt.

Dijeron entonces los Judíos: Mirad cómo le amaba.

Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!

The Jews therefore said, “See how much affection he had for him!”

Da er das gesagt hatte, rief er mit lauter Stimme: Lazarus, komm heraus!

Y algunos de ellos dijeron: ¿No podía éste que abrió los ojos al ciego, hacer que éste no muriera?

And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?

Some of them said, “Couldn’t this man, who opened the eyes of him who was blind, have also kept this man from dying?”

Und der Verstorbene kam heraus, gebunden mit Grabtüchern an Füßen und Händen, und sein Angesicht verhüllet mit einem Schweißtuch. Jesus spricht zu ihnen: Löset ihn auf und lasset ihn gehen!

Y Jesús, conmoviéndose otra vez en sí mismo, vino al sepulcro. Era una cueva, la cual tenía una piedra encima.

Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.

Viel nun der Juden, die zu Maria kommen waren und sahen, was Jesus tat, glaubten an ihn.

Dice Jesús: Quitad la piedra. Marta, la hermana del que se había muerto, le dice: Señor, hiede ya, que es de cuatro días.

Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.

Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to him, “Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.”

Etliche aber von ihnen gingen hin zu den Pharisäern und sagten ihnen, was Jesus getan hatte.

Jesús le dice: ¿No te he dicho que, si creyeres, verás la gloria de Dios?

Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

Jesus said to her, “Didn’t I tell you that if you believed, you would see God’s glory?”

Da versammelten die Hohenpriester und die Pharisäer einen Rat und sprachen: Was tun wir? Dieser Mensch tut viel Zeichen.

Entonces quitaron la piedra de donde el muerto había sido puesto. Y Jesús, alzando los ojos arriba, dijo: Padre, gracias te doy que me has oído.

Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

So they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you listened to me.

Lassen wir ihn also, so werden sie alle an ihn glauben. So kommen dann die Römer und nehmen uns Land und Leute.

Que yo sabía que siempre me oyes; mas por causa de la compañía que está alrededor, lo dije, para que crean que tú me has enviado.

And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

I know that you always listen to me, but because of the multitude standing around I said this, that they may believe that you sent me.”

Einer aber unter ihnen, Kaiphas, der desselben Jahres Hoherpriester war, sprach zu ihnen: Ihr wisset nichts,

Y habiendo dicho estas cosas, clamó á gran voz: Lázaro, ven fuera.

And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

When he had said this, he cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”

bedenket auch nichts; es ist uns besser, ein Mensch sterbe für das Volk, denn daß das ganze Volk verderbe.

Y el que había estado muerto, salió, atadas las manos y los pies con vendas; y su rostro estaba envuelto en un sudario. Díceles Jesús: Desatadle, y dejadle ir.

And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

He who was dead came out, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Free him, and let him go.”

Solches aber redete er nicht von sich selbst, sondern, dieweil er desselbigen Jahres Hoherpriester war, weissagte er. Denn Jesus sollte sterben für das Volk,

Entonces muchos de los Judíos que habían venido á María, y habían visto lo que había hecho Jesús, creyeron en él.

Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.

Therefore many of the Jews who came to Mary and saw what Jesus did believed in him.

und nicht für das Volk allein, sondern daß er die Kinder Gottes, die zerstreuet waren, zusammenbrächte.

Mas algunos de ellos fueron á los Fariseos, y dijéronles lo que Jesús había hecho.

But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.

But some of them went away to the Pharisees and told them the things which Jesus had done.

Von dem Tage an ratschlagten sie, wie sie ihn töteten.

Entonces los pontífices y los Fariseos juntaron concilio, y decían: ¿Qué hacemos? porque este hombre hace muchas señales.

Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.

The chief priests therefore and the Pharisees gathered a council, and said, “What are we doing? For this man does many signs.

Jesus aber wandelte nicht mehr frei unter den Juden, sondern ging von dannen in eine Gegend nahe bei der Wüste in eine Stadt, genannt Ephrem, und hatte sein Wesen daselbst mit seinen Jüngern.

Si le dejamos así, todos creerán en él: y vendrán los Romanos, y quitarán nuestro lugar y la nación.

If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.

If we leave him alone like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.”

Es war aber nahe das Ostern der Juden; und es gingen viele hinauf gen Jerusalem aus der Gegend vor Ostern daß sie sich reinigten.

Y Caifás, uno de ellos, sumo pontífice de aquel año, les dijo: Vosotros no sabéis nada;

And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,

But a certain one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all,

Da stunden sie und fragten nach Jesu und redeten miteinander im Tempel: Was dünket euch, daß er nicht kommt auf das Fest?

Ni pensáis que nos conviene que un hombre muera por el pueblo, y no que toda la nación se pierda.

Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.

nor do you consider that it is advantageous for us that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation not perish.”

Es hatten aber die Hohenpriester und Pharisäer lassen ein Gebot ausgehen, so jemand wüßte, wo er wäre, daß er's anzeigete, daß sie ihn griffen.

Mas esto no lo dijo de sí mismo; sino que, como era el sumo pontífice de aquel año, profetizó que Jesús había de morir por la nación:

And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;

Now he didn’t say this of himself, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation,

Sechs Tage vor Ostern kam Jesus gen Bethanien, da Lazarus war, der Verstorbene, welchen Jesus auferwecket hatte von den Toten.

Y no solamente por aquella nación, mas también para que juntase en uno los hijos de Dios que estaban derramados.

And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

and not for the nation only, but that he might also gather together into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.

Daselbst machten sie ihm ein Abendmahl, und Martha dienete; Lazarus aber war der einer, die mit ihm zu Tische saßen.

Así que, desde aquel día consultaban juntos de matarle.

Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.

So from that day forward they took counsel that they might put him to death.

Da nahm Maria ein Pfund Salbe von ungefälschter, köstlicher Narde und salbete die Füße Jesu und trocknete mit ihrem Haar seine Füße. Das Haus aber ward voll vom Geruch der Salbe.

Por tanto, Jesús ya no andaba manifiestamente entre los Judíos; mas fuése de allí á la tierra que está junto al desierto, á una ciudad que se llama Ephraim: y estábase allí con sus discípulos.

Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.

Da sprach seiner Jünger einer, Judas, Simons Sohn, Ischariot, der ihn hernach verriet:

Y la Pascua de los Judíos estaba cerca: y muchos subieron de aquella tierra á Jerusalem antes de la Pascua, para purificarse;

And the Jews’ passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the passover, to purify themselves.

Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand. Many went up from the country to Jerusalem before the Passover, to purify themselves.

Warum ist diese Salbe nicht verkauft um dreihundert Groschen und den Armen gegeben?

Y buscaban á Jesús, y hablaban los unos con los otros estando en el templo: ¿Qué os parece, que no vendrá á la fiesta?

Then sought they for Jesus, and spake among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What think ye, that he will not come to the feast?

Then they sought for Jesus and spoke with one another as they stood in the temple, “What do you think—that he isn’t coming to the feast at all?”

Das sagte er aber nicht, daß er nach den Armen fragte, sondern er war ein Dieb und hatte den Beutel und trug, was gegeben ward.

Y los pontífices y los Fariseos habían dado mandamiento, que si alguno supiese dónde estuviera, lo manifestase, para que le prendiesen.

Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him.

Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had commanded that if anyone knew where he was, he should report it, that they might seize him.
