Pur nondimeno molti, eziandio dei principali, credettero in lui; ma, per tema de' Farisei, non lo confessavano, acciocchè non fossero sbanditi dalla sinagoga.

Con todo eso, aun de los príncipes, muchos creyeron en él; mas por causa de los Fariseos no lo confesaban, por no ser echados de la sinagoga.

Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:

Nevertheless, even many of the rulers believed in him, but because of the Pharisees they didn’t confess it, so that they wouldn’t be put out of the synagogue,
