Seis días antes de la Pascua, Jesús llegó a Betania, donde vivía Lázaro, el hombre al que Jesús había resucitado.
Y JESÚS, seis días antes de la Pascua, vino á Bethania, donde estaba Lázaro, que había sido muerto, al cual había resucitado de los muertos.
Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.

Allí hicieron una cena en honor de Jesús. Lázaro estaba sentado a la mesa con él, y Marta servía.
E hiciéronle allí una cena: y Marta servía, y Lázaro era uno de los que estaban sentados á la mesa juntamente con él.
There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.
So they made him a supper there. Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with him.
Entonces, María tomó un frasco como de medio litro de perfume de nardo puro, que era muy caro, y lo derramó sobre los pies de Jesús, secándoselos luego con sus cabellos. Y la casa se llenó de la fragancia del perfume.
Entonces María tomó una libra de ungüento de nardo líquido de mucho precio, y ungió los pies de Jesús, y limpió sus pies con sus cabellos: y la casa se llenó del olor del ungüento.
Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.
Therefore Mary took a pound of ointment of pure nard, very precious, and anointed Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment.
Pero Judas Iscariote, que era uno de los discípulos de Jesús, y el que más tarde lo traicionaría, dijo:
Y dijo uno de sus discípulos, Judas Iscariote, hijo de Simón, el que le había de entregar:
Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray him,
Then Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, one of his disciples, who would betray him, said,
―¿Por qué no se vendió este perfume, que vale muchísimo dinero, para dárselo a los pobres?
¿Por qué no se ha vendido este ungüento por trescientos dineros, y se dió á los pobres?
Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?
“Why wasn’t this ointment sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?”
Dijo esto, no porque le importaran los pobres sino porque era un ladrón y, como tenía a su cargo la bolsa del dinero, robaba de lo que echaban en ella.
Mas dijo esto, no por el cuidado que él tenía de los pobres; sino porque era ladrón, y tenía la bolsa, y traía lo que se echaba en ella.
This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.
Now he said this, not because he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and having the money box, used to steal what was put into it.
Jesús respondió: ―Déjenla en paz. Ella estaba guardando este perfume para el día de mi entierro.
Entonces Jesús dijo: Déjala: para el día de mi sepultura ha guardado esto;
Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.
But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. She has kept this for the day of my burial.
A los pobres siempre los tendrán con ustedes, pero a mí no siempre me tendrán.
Porque á los pobres siempre los tenéis con vosotros, mas á mí no siempre me tenéis.
For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.
For you always have the poor with you, but you don’t always have me.”
Muchos de los judíos se enteraron de que Jesús estaba allí y fueron a verlo; pero no sólo a él sino también a Lázaro, a quien Jesús había resucitado.
Entonces mucha gente de los Judíos entendió que él estaba allí; y vinieron no solamente por causa de Jesús, mas también por ver á Lázaro, al cual había resucitado de los muertos.
Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
A large crowd therefore of the Jews learned that he was there; and they came, not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
Entonces los jefes de los sacerdotes decidieron matar también a Lázaro,
Consultaron asimismo los príncipes de los sacerdotes, de matar también á Lázaro;
But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;
But the chief priests conspired to put Lazarus to death also,
pues por su causa, muchos se apartaban de los judíos y creían en Jesús.
Porque muchos de los Judíos iban y creían en Jesús por causa de él.
Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.
because on account of him many of the Jews went away and believed in Jesus.
Al día siguiente, muchos de los que habían ido a la fiesta se enteraron de que Jesús iba camino a Jerusalén.
El siguiente día, mucha gente que había venido á la fiesta, como oyeron que Jesús venía á Jerusalem,
On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
On the next day a great multitude had come to the feast. When they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
Entonces tomaron ramas de palma y salieron a recibirlo, gritando: ―¡Hosanna! ―¡Bendito el que viene de parte del Señor! ―¡Bendito el Rey de Israel!
Tomaron ramos de palmas, y salieron á recibirle, y clamaban: ¡Hosanna, Bendito el que viene en el nombre del Señor, el Rey de Israel!
Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Jesús encontró un burrito y se montó en él, como dice la Escritura:
Y halló Jesús un asnillo, y se sentó sobre él, como está escrito:
And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,
Jesus, having found a young donkey, sat on it. As it is written,
«No tengas miedo, oh ciudad de Sion; aquí viene tu rey, montado sobre un burrito».
No temas, hija de Sión: he aquí tu Rey viene, sentado sobre un pollino de asna.
Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.
“Don’t be afraid, daughter of Zion. Behold, your King comes, sitting on a donkey’s colt.”
Al principio, sus discípulos no entendieron lo que estaba pasando. Pero después que Jesús fue glorificado, se acordaron de que todo lo que le habían hecho ya estaba escrito, y se refería a él.
Estas cosas no las entendieron sus discípulos de primero: empero cuando Jesús fué glorificado, entonces se acordaron de que estas cosas estaban escritas de él, y que le hicieron estas cosas.
These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.
His disciples didn’t understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about him, and that they had done these things to him.
La gente que había estado con Jesús cuando llamó a Lázaro del sepulcro y lo resucitó de entre los muertos, contaba todo esto.
Y la gente que estaba con él, daba testimonio de cuando llamó á Lázaro del sepulcro, y le resucitó de los muertos.
The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record.
The multitude therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead was testifying about it.
Por eso mucha gente que se enteró de que Jesús había hecho esa señal milagrosa le salió al encuentro.
Por lo cual también había venido la gente á recibirle, porque había oído que él había hecho esta señal;
For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle.
For this cause also the multitude went and met him, because they heard that he had done this sign.
Pero los fariseos se decían unos a otros: «Dense cuenta, así no vamos a lograr nada. ¡Miren, todo el mundo lo sigue!».
Mas los Fariseos dijeron entre sí: ¿Veis que nada aprovecháis? he aquí, el mundo se va tras de él.
The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.
The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, “See how you accomplish nothing. Behold, the world has gone after him.”
Entre la gente que había ido a adorar en la fiesta había algunos griegos.
Y había ciertos Griegos de los que habían subido á adorar en la fiesta:
And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:
Now there were certain Greeks among those who went up to worship at the feast.
Estos se acercaron a Felipe, que era de Betsaida de Galilea, y le dijeron: ―Señor, queremos ver a Jesús.
Estos pues, se llegaron á Felipe, que era de Bethsaida de Galilea, y rogáronle, diciendo: Señor, querríamos ver á Jesús.
The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.
Therefore, these came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, “Sir, we want to see Jesus.”
Felipe fue a contárselo a Andrés, y juntos fueron a decírselo a Jesús.
Vino Felipe, y díjolo á Andrés: Andrés entonces, y Felipe, lo dicen á Jesús.
Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.
Philip came and told Andrew, and in turn, Andrew came with Philip, and they told Jesus.
Jesús les respondió: ―Ha llegado la hora de que el Hijo del hombre sea glorificado.
Entonces Jesús les respondió, diciendo: La hora viene en que el Hijo del hombre ha de ser glorificado.
And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
Jesus answered them, “The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.
Es verdad que si un grano de trigo cae en tierra y no muere, se queda solo. Pero si muere, produce mucho fruto.
De cierto, de cierto os digo, que si el grano de trigo no cae en la tierra y muere, él solo queda; mas si muriere, mucho fruto lleva.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
Most certainly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit.
El que ama su vida la pierde; en cambio, quien desprecia su vida en este mundo, la conserva para la vida eterna.
El que ama su vida, la perderá; y el que aborrece su vida en este mundo, para vida eterna la guardará.
He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
He who loves his life will lose it. He who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life.
El que quiera servirme, debe seguirme; y donde yo esté, allí también estará el que me sirve. Al que me sirva, mi Padre lo honrará.
Si alguno me sirve, sígame: y donde yo estuviere, allí también estará mi servidor. Si alguno me sirviere, mi Padre le honrará.
If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
If anyone serves me, let him follow me. Where I am, there my servant will also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.
»En este momento estoy lleno de angustia, ¿y por eso voy a decir: “Padre, sálvame de este sufrimiento”? ¡Si para eso he venido!
Ahora está turbada mi alma; ¿y qué diré? Padre, sálvame de esta hora. Mas por esto he venido en esta hora.
Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.
“Now my soul is troubled. What shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this time’? But I came to this time for this cause.
¡Padre, glorifica tu nombre!». Entonces se oyó una voz del cielo que decía: «Ya lo glorifiqué y lo volveré a glorificar».
Padre, glorifica tu nombre. Entonces vino una voz del cielo: Y lo he glorificado, y lo glorificaré otra vez.
Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
Father, glorify your name!” Then a voice came out of the sky, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.”
La gente que estaba allí, y que oyó la voz, decía que había sido un trueno. Otros decían que un ángel le había hablado.
Y la gente que estaba presente, y había oído, decía que había sido trueno. Otros decían: Angel le ha hablado.
The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.
Therefore the multitude who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.”
Jesús dijo: ―Esa voz no se oyó por mí sino por causa de ustedes.
Respondió Jesús, y dijo: No ha venido esta voz por mi causa, mas por causa de vosotros.
Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
Jesus answered, “This voice hasn’t come for my sake, but for your sakes.
A este mundo ya le ha llegado su juicio, y el príncipe de este mundo va a ser expulsado.
Ahora es el juicio de este mundo: ahora el príncipe de este mundo será echado fuera.
Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
Now is the judgment of this world. Now the prince of this world will be cast out.
Pero cuando yo sea levantado de la tierra, atraeré a todos a mí mismo.
Y yo, si fuere levantado de la tierra, á todos traeré á mí mismo.
And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”
Con esto, Jesús les estaba diciendo de qué manera iba a morir.
Y esto decía dando á entender de qué muerte había de morir.
This he said, signifying what death he should die.
But he said this, signifying by what kind of death he should die.
La gente le respondió: ―Hemos aprendido de la ley que el Cristo vivirá para siempre; ¿por qué dices que el Hijo del hombre tiene que ser levantado? ¿Quién es ese Hijo del hombre?
Respondióle la gente: Nosotros hemos oído de la ley, que el Cristo permanece para siempre: ¿cómo pues dices tú: Conviene que el Hijo del hombre sea levantado? ¿Quién es este Hijo del hombre?
The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?
The multitude answered him, “We have heard out of the law that the Christ remains forever. How do you say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”
Jesús les dijo: ―Ustedes van a tener la luz un poco más de tiempo. Caminen mientras tienen la luz, antes que los sorprenda la oscuridad; porque el que camina en la oscuridad no sabe a dónde va.
Entonces Jesús les dice: Aun por un poco estará la luz entre vosotros: andad entre tanto que tenéis luz, porque no os sorprendan las tinieblas; porque el que anda en tinieblas, no sabe dónde va.
Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
Jesus therefore said to them, “Yet a little while the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, that darkness doesn’t overtake you. He who walks in the darkness doesn’t know where he is going.
Mientras tienen la luz, crean en ella, para que sean hijos de la luz. Después de decir esto, Jesús se fue y se escondió de ellos.
Entre tanto que tenéis la luz, creed en la luz, para que seáis hijos de luz. Estas cosas habló Jesús, y fuése, y escondióse de ellos.
While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become children of light.” Jesus said these things, and he departed and hid himself from them.
Jesús había hecho muchas señales milagrosas en presencia de ellos, y a pesar de eso, todavía no creían en él.
Empero habiendo hecho delante de ellos tantas señales, no creían en él.
But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
But though he had done so many signs before them, yet they didn’t believe in him,
Así se cumplió lo que el profeta Isaías había dicho: «Señor; ¿quién ha creído en nuestro mensaje? ¿A quién se le ha mostrado el poder del Señor?».
Para que se cumpliese el dicho que dijo el profeta Isaías: ¿Señor, quién ha creído á nuestro dicho? ¿y el brazo del Señor, á quién es revelado?
That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke: “Lord, who has believed our report? To whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”
Por eso no podían creer, pues Isaías también había dicho:
Por esto no podían creer, porque otra vez dijo Isaías:
Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
For this cause they couldn’t believe, for Isaiah said again:
«Les ha cegado los ojos y les endureció el corazón, para que no puedan ver con los ojos, ni entiendan con el corazón ni se conviertan; y yo los sane».
Cegó los ojos de ellos, y endureció su corazón; porque no vean con los ojos, y entiendan de corazón, y se conviertan, y yo los sane.
He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
“He has blinded their eyes and he hardened their heart, lest they should see with their eyes, and perceive with their heart, and would turn, and I would heal them.”
Isaías dijo esto porque vio la gloria de Jesús y habló de él.
Estas cosas dijo Isaías cuando vió su gloria, y habló de él.
These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
Isaiah said these things when he saw his glory, and spoke of him.
Sin embargo, muchos de los judíos, y hasta algunos de sus jefes, creyeron en él, pero no lo decían porque tenían miedo que los fariseos los expulsaran de la sinagoga.
Con todo eso, aun de los príncipes, muchos creyeron en él; mas por causa de los Fariseos no lo confesaban, por no ser echados de la sinagoga.
Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
Nevertheless, even many of the rulers believed in him, but because of the Pharisees they didn’t confess it, so that they wouldn’t be put out of the synagogue,
Preferían recibir honores de los hombres y no los honores que proceden de Dios.
Porque amaban más la gloria de los hombres que la gloria de Dios.
For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
for they loved men’s praise more than God’s praise.
Jesús exclamó con voz fuerte: «El que cree en mí, también cree en el que me envió.
Mas Jesús clamó y dijo: El que cree en mí, no cree en mí, sino en el que me envió;
Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.
Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me, but in him who sent me.
Y el que me ve a mí, también ve al que me envió.
Y el que me ve, ve al que me envió.
And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.
He who sees me sees him who sent me.
Yo soy la luz que ha venido al mundo, para que todo el que crea en mí no viva en la oscuridad.
Yo la luz he venido al mundo, para que todo aquel que cree en mí no permanezca en tinieblas.
I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in me may not remain in the darkness.
»El que escucha mis palabras y no las obedece, no soy yo el que lo va a juzgar; pues yo no vine a juzgar al mundo sino a salvarlo.
Y el que oyere mis palabras, y no las creyere, yo no le juzgo; porque no he venido á juzgar al mundo, sino á salvar al mundo.
And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
If anyone listens to my sayings and doesn’t believe, I don’t judge him. For I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
El que me rechaza y no obedece mis palabras tiene quien lo juzgue. La palabra que yo he hablado será la que lo juzgue en el día final.
El que me desecha, y no recibe mis palabras, tiene quien le juzgue: la palabra que he hablado, ella le juzgará en el día postrero.
He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
He who rejects me, and doesn’t receive my sayings, has one who judges him. The word that I spoke will judge him in the last day.
Yo no he hablado por mi propia cuenta, ha sido el Padre que me envió el que me ordenó qué decir y cómo decirlo,
Porque yo no he hablado de mí mismo: mas el Padre que me envió, él me dió mandamiento de lo que he de decir, y de lo que he de hablar.
For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
For I spoke not from myself, but the Father who sent me gave me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak.
y sé bien que su mandamiento es vida eterna. Así que todo lo que les he dicho es lo que el Padre me ha ordenado decir».
Y sé que su mandamiento es vida eterna: así que, lo que yo hablo, como el Padre me lo ha dicho, así hablo.
And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
I know that his commandment is eternal life. The things therefore which I speak, even as the Father has said to me, so I speak.”
