Sechs Tage vor dem Passah kam Jesus nach Bethanien, wo Lazarus war, welchen Jesus von den Toten auferweckt hatte.

Y JESÚS, seis días antes de la Pascua, vino á Bethania, donde estaba Lázaro, que había sido muerto, al cual había resucitado de los muertos.

Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.

Sie machten ihm nun dort ein Gastmahl, und Martha diente. Lazarus aber war einer von denen, die mit ihm zu Tische saßen.

E hiciéronle allí una cena: y Marta servía, y Lázaro era uno de los que estaban sentados á la mesa juntamente con él.

There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.

So they made him a supper there. Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with him.

Da nahm Maria ein Pfund echter, köstlicher Nardensalbe, salbte Jesus die Füße und trocknete ihm die Füße mit ihren Haaren; das Haus aber wurde erfüllt vom Geruch der Salbe.

Entonces María tomó una libra de ungüento de nardo líquido de mucho precio, y ungió los pies de Jesús, y limpió sus pies con sus cabellos: y la casa se llenó del olor del ungüento.

Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

Therefore Mary took a pound of ointment of pure nard, very precious, and anointed Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment.

Da spricht Judas, Simons Sohn, der Ischariot, einer seiner Jünger, der ihn hernach verriet:

Y dijo uno de sus discípulos, Judas Iscariote, hijo de Simón, el que le había de entregar:

Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray him,

Then Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, one of his disciples, who would betray him, said,

Warum hat man diese Salbe nicht für dreihundert Denare verkauft und es den Armen gegeben?

¿Por qué no se ha vendido este ungüento por trescientos dineros, y se dió á los pobres?

Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?

“Why wasn’t this ointment sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?”

Das sagte er aber nicht, weil er sich um die Armen kümmerte, sondern weil er ein Dieb war und den Beutel hatte und trug, was eingelegt wurde.

Mas dijo esto, no por el cuidado que él tenía de los pobres; sino porque era ladrón, y tenía la bolsa, y traía lo que se echaba en ella.

This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

Now he said this, not because he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and having the money box, used to steal what was put into it.

Da sprach Jesus: Laß sie! Solches hat sie für den Tag meines Begräbnisses aufbewahrt.

Entonces Jesús dijo: Déjala: para el día de mi sepultura ha guardado esto;

Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.

But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. She has kept this for the day of my burial.

Denn die Armen habt ihr allezeit bei euch; mich aber habt ihr nicht allezeit.

Porque á los pobres siempre los tenéis con vosotros, mas á mí no siempre me tenéis.

For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.

For you always have the poor with you, but you don’t always have me.”

Es erfuhr nun eine große Menge der Juden, daß er dort sei; und sie kamen nicht allein um Jesu willen, sondern auch um Lazarus zu sehen, den er von den Toten auferweckt hatte.

Entonces mucha gente de los Judíos entendió que él estaba allí; y vinieron no solamente por causa de Jesús, mas también por ver á Lázaro, al cual había resucitado de los muertos.

Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.

A large crowd therefore of the Jews learned that he was there; and they came, not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.

Da beschlossen die Hohenpriester, auch Lazarus zu töten,

Consultaron asimismo los príncipes de los sacerdotes, de matar también á Lázaro;

But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;

But the chief priests conspired to put Lazarus to death also,

denn seinetwegen gingen viele Juden hin und glaubten an Jesus.

Porque muchos de los Judíos iban y creían en Jesús por causa de él.

Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.

because on account of him many of the Jews went away and believed in Jesus.

Als am folgenden Tage die vielen Leute, welche zum Fest erschienen waren, hörten, daß Jesus nach Jerusalem komme,

El siguiente día, mucha gente que había venido á la fiesta, como oyeron que Jesús venía á Jerusalem,

On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

On the next day a great multitude had come to the feast. When they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

nahmen sie Palmzweige und gingen hinaus, ihm entgegen, und riefen: Hosianna! Gepriesen sei, der da kommt im Namen des Herrn, der König von Israel!

Tomaron ramos de palmas, y salieron á recibirle, y clamaban: ¡Hosanna, Bendito el que viene en el nombre del Señor, el Rey de Israel!

Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

they took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet him, and cried out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, the King of Israel!”

Jesus aber fand einen jungen Esel und setzte sich darauf, wie geschrieben steht:

Y halló Jesús un asnillo, y se sentó sobre él, como está escrito:

And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,

Jesus, having found a young donkey, sat on it. As it is written,

«Fürchte dich nicht, Tochter Zion! Siehe, dein König kommt, sitzend auf dem Füllen einer Eselin!»

No temas, hija de Sión: he aquí tu Rey viene, sentado sobre un pollino de asna.

Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.

“Don’t be afraid, daughter of Zion. Behold, your King comes, sitting on a donkey’s colt.”

Solches aber verstanden seine Jünger anfangs nicht, sondern als Jesus verherrlicht war, wurden sie dessen eingedenk, daß solches von ihm geschrieben stehe und daß sie ihm solches getan hatten.

Estas cosas no las entendieron sus discípulos de primero: empero cuando Jesús fué glorificado, entonces se acordaron de que estas cosas estaban escritas de él, y que le hicieron estas cosas.

These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.

His disciples didn’t understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about him, and that they had done these things to him.

Die Menge nun, die bei ihm war, bezeugte, daß er Lazarus aus dem Grabe gerufen und ihn von den Toten auferweckt habe.

Y la gente que estaba con él, daba testimonio de cuando llamó á Lázaro del sepulcro, y le resucitó de los muertos.

The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record.

The multitude therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead was testifying about it.

Darum ging ihm auch das Volk entgegen, weil sie hörten, daß er dieses Zeichen getan habe.

Por lo cual también había venido la gente á recibirle, porque había oído que él había hecho esta señal;

For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle.

For this cause also the multitude went and met him, because they heard that he had done this sign.

Da sprachen die Pharisäer zueinander: Ihr seht, daß ihr nichts ausrichtet. Siehe, alle Welt läuft ihm nach!

Mas los Fariseos dijeron entre sí: ¿Veis que nada aprovecháis? he aquí, el mundo se va tras de él.

The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.

The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, “See how you accomplish nothing. Behold, the world has gone after him.”

Es waren aber etliche Griechen unter denen, die hinaufkamen, um am Fest anzubeten.

Y había ciertos Griegos de los que habían subido á adorar en la fiesta:

And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:

Now there were certain Greeks among those who went up to worship at the feast.

Diese gingen zu Philippus, der aus Bethsaida in Galiläa war, baten ihn und sprachen: Herr, wir möchten Jesus gern sehen!

Estos pues, se llegaron á Felipe, que era de Bethsaida de Galilea, y rogáronle, diciendo: Señor, querríamos ver á Jesús.

The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.

Therefore, these came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, “Sir, we want to see Jesus.”

Philippus kommt und sagt es dem Andreas, Andreas und Philippus aber sagen es Jesus.

Vino Felipe, y díjolo á Andrés: Andrés entonces, y Felipe, lo dicen á Jesús.

Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.

Philip came and told Andrew, and in turn, Andrew came with Philip, and they told Jesus.

Jesus aber antwortete ihnen und sprach: Die Stunde ist gekommen, daß des Menschen Sohn verherrlicht werde!

Entonces Jesús les respondió, diciendo: La hora viene en que el Hijo del hombre ha de ser glorificado.

And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.

Jesus answered them, “The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.

Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch, wenn das Weizenkorn nicht in die Erde fällt und erstirbt, so bleibt es allein; wenn es aber erstirbt, so bringt es viele Frucht.

De cierto, de cierto os digo, que si el grano de trigo no cae en la tierra y muere, él solo queda; mas si muriere, mucho fruto lleva.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Most certainly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit.

Wer seine Seele liebt, der wird sie verlieren; wer aber seine Seele in dieser Welt haßt, wird sie zum ewigen Leben bewahren.

El que ama su vida, la perderá; y el que aborrece su vida en este mundo, para vida eterna la guardará.

He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

He who loves his life will lose it. He who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life.

Wer mir dienen will, der folge mir nach; und wo ich bin, da soll auch mein Diener sein; und wer mir dient, den wird mein Vater ehren.

Si alguno me sirve, sígame: y donde yo estuviere, allí también estará mi servidor. Si alguno me sirviere, mi Padre le honrará.

If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

If anyone serves me, let him follow me. Where I am, there my servant will also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

Jetzt ist meine Seele erschüttert. Und was soll ich sagen? Vater, hilf mir aus dieser Stunde? Doch darum bin ich in diese Stunde gekommen.

Ahora está turbada mi alma; ¿y qué diré? Padre, sálvame de esta hora. Mas por esto he venido en esta hora.

Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.

“Now my soul is troubled. What shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this time’? But I came to this time for this cause.

Vater, verherrliche deinen Namen! Da kam eine Stimme vom Himmel: Ich habe ihn verherrlicht und will ihn wiederum verherrlichen!

Padre, glorifica tu nombre. Entonces vino una voz del cielo: Y lo he glorificado, y lo glorificaré otra vez.

Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

Father, glorify your name!” Then a voice came out of the sky, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.”

Das Volk nun, das dabeistand und solches hörte, sagte, es habe gedonnert. Andere sagten: Ein Engel hat mit ihm geredet.

Y la gente que estaba presente, y había oído, decía que había sido trueno. Otros decían: Angel le ha hablado.

The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.

Therefore the multitude who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.”

Jesus antwortete und sprach: Nicht um meinetwillen ist diese Stimme erschollen, sondern um euretwillen.

Respondió Jesús, y dijo: No ha venido esta voz por mi causa, mas por causa de vosotros.

Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.

Jesus answered, “This voice hasn’t come for my sake, but for your sakes.

Jetzt ergeht ein Gericht über diese Welt! Nun wird der Fürst dieser Welt hinausgeworfen werden;

Ahora es el juicio de este mundo: ahora el príncipe de este mundo será echado fuera.

Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

Now is the judgment of this world. Now the prince of this world will be cast out.

und ich, wenn ich von der Erde erhöht bin, werde alle zu mir ziehen.

Y yo, si fuere levantado de la tierra, á todos traeré á mí mismo.

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”

Das sagte er aber, um anzudeuten, welches Todes er sterben würde.

Y esto decía dando á entender de qué muerte había de morir.

This he said, signifying what death he should die.

But he said this, signifying by what kind of death he should die.

Das Volk antwortete ihm: Wir haben aus dem Gesetze gehört, daß Christus in Ewigkeit bleibt; wie sagst du denn, des Menschen Sohn müsse erhöht werden? Wer ist dieser Menschensohn?

Respondióle la gente: Nosotros hemos oído de la ley, que el Cristo permanece para siempre: ¿cómo pues dices tú: Conviene que el Hijo del hombre sea levantado? ¿Quién es este Hijo del hombre?

The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

The multitude answered him, “We have heard out of the law that the Christ remains forever. How do you say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”

Da sprach Jesus zu ihnen: Noch eine kleine Zeit ist das Licht bei euch. Wandelt, solange ihr das Licht noch habt, damit euch die Finsternis nicht überfalle! Wer in der Finsternis wandelt, weiß nicht, wohin er geht.

Entonces Jesús les dice: Aun por un poco estará la luz entre vosotros: andad entre tanto que tenéis luz, porque no os sorprendan las tinieblas; porque el que anda en tinieblas, no sabe dónde va.

Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

Jesus therefore said to them, “Yet a little while the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, that darkness doesn’t overtake you. He who walks in the darkness doesn’t know where he is going.

Solange ihr das Licht habt, glaubet an das Licht, damit ihr Kinder des Lichtes werdet!

Entre tanto que tenéis la luz, creed en la luz, para que seáis hijos de luz. Estas cosas habló Jesús, y fuése, y escondióse de ellos.

While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become children of light.” Jesus said these things, and he departed and hid himself from them.

Solches redete Jesus und ging hinweg und verbarg sich vor ihnen. Wiewohl er aber so viele Zeichen vor ihnen getan hatte, glaubten sie nicht an ihn;

Empero habiendo hecho delante de ellos tantas señales, no creían en él.

But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

But though he had done so many signs before them, yet they didn’t believe in him,

auf daß das Wort des Propheten Jesaja erfüllt würde, welches er gesprochen hat: «Herr, wer hat dem geglaubt, was wir gehört haben, und wem wurde der Arm des Herrn geoffenbart?»

Para que se cumpliese el dicho que dijo el profeta Isaías: ¿Señor, quién ha creído á nuestro dicho? ¿y el brazo del Señor, á quién es revelado?

That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?

that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke: “Lord, who has believed our report? To whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

Darum konnten sie nicht glauben, denn Jesaja spricht wiederum:

Por esto no podían creer, porque otra vez dijo Isaías:

Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,

For this cause they couldn’t believe, for Isaiah said again:

«Er hat ihre Augen verblendet und ihr Herz verhärtet, daß sie mit den Augen nicht sehen, noch mit dem Herzen verstehen und sich bekehren und ich sie heile.»

Cegó los ojos de ellos, y endureció su corazón; porque no vean con los ojos, y entiendan de corazón, y se conviertan, y yo los sane.

He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

“He has blinded their eyes and he hardened their heart, lest they should see with their eyes, and perceive with their heart, and would turn, and I would heal them.”

Solches sprach Jesaja, als er seine Herrlichkeit sah und von ihm redete.

Estas cosas dijo Isaías cuando vió su gloria, y habló de él.

These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.

Isaiah said these things when he saw his glory, and spoke of him.

Doch glaubten sogar von den Obersten viele an ihn, aber wegen der Pharisäer bekannten sie es nicht, damit sie nicht von der Synagoge ausgestoßen würden.

Con todo eso, aun de los príncipes, muchos creyeron en él; mas por causa de los Fariseos no lo confesaban, por no ser echados de la sinagoga.

Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:

Nevertheless, even many of the rulers believed in him, but because of the Pharisees they didn’t confess it, so that they wouldn’t be put out of the synagogue,

Denn die Ehre der Menschen war ihnen lieber als die Ehre Gottes.

Porque amaban más la gloria de los hombres que la gloria de Dios.

For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

for they loved men’s praise more than God’s praise.

Jesus aber rief und sprach: Wer an mich glaubt, der glaubt nicht an mich, sondern an den, der mich gesandt hat.

Mas Jesús clamó y dijo: El que cree en mí, no cree en mí, sino en el que me envió;

Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me, but in him who sent me.

Und wer mich sieht, der sieht den, der mich gesandt hat.

Y el que me ve, ve al que me envió.

And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.

He who sees me sees him who sent me.

Ich bin als ein Licht in die Welt gekommen, damit niemand, der an mich glaubt, in der Finsternis bleibe.

Yo la luz he venido al mundo, para que todo aquel que cree en mí no permanezca en tinieblas.

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in me may not remain in the darkness.

Und wenn jemand meine Worte hört und nicht hält, so richte ich ihn nicht; denn ich bin nicht gekommen, um die Welt zu richten, sondern damit ich die Welt rette.

Y el que oyere mis palabras, y no las creyere, yo no le juzgo; porque no he venido á juzgar al mundo, sino á salvar al mundo.

And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

If anyone listens to my sayings and doesn’t believe, I don’t judge him. For I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

Wer mich verwirft und meine Worte nicht annimmt, der hat schon seinen Richter: das Wort, das ich geredet habe, das wird ihn richten am letzten Tage.

El que me desecha, y no recibe mis palabras, tiene quien le juzgue: la palabra que he hablado, ella le juzgará en el día postrero.

He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

He who rejects me, and doesn’t receive my sayings, has one who judges him. The word that I spoke will judge him in the last day.

Denn ich habe nicht aus mir selbst geredet, sondern der Vater, der mich gesandt hat, er hat mir ein Gebot gegeben, was ich sagen und was ich reden soll.

Porque yo no he hablado de mí mismo: mas el Padre que me envió, él me dió mandamiento de lo que he de decir, y de lo que he de hablar.

For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

For I spoke not from myself, but the Father who sent me gave me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak.

Und ich weiß, daß sein Gebot ewiges Leben ist. Darum, was ich rede, das rede ich so, wie der Vater es mir gesagt hat.

Y sé que su mandamiento es vida eterna: así que, lo que yo hablo, como el Padre me lo ha dicho, así hablo.

And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

I know that his commandment is eternal life. The things therefore which I speak, even as the Father has said to me, so I speak.”
