Dies habe ich euch gesagt, damit ihr nicht Anstoß nehmt.

ESTAS cosas os he hablado, para que no os escandalicéis.

These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.

“I have said these things to you so that you wouldn’t be caused to stumble.

Man wird euch in den Bann tun; ja, es kommt die Stunde, wo jeder, der euch tötet, Gott eine Opfergabe darzubringen meint.

Os echarán de las sinagogas; y aun viene la hora, cuando cualquiera que os matare, pensará que hace servicio á Dios.

They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God.

Und so werden sie verfahren, weil sie weder den Vater noch mich erkannt haben.

Y estas cosas os harán, porque no conocen al Padre ni á mí.

And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

They will do these things because they have not known the Father nor me.

Aber ich habe euch dies gesagt, damit, wenn die Stunde der Erfüllung kommt, ihr daran gedenkt, daß ich es euch gesagt habe.« »Dies habe ich euch aber nicht gleich anfangs gesagt, weil ich noch bei euch war.

Mas os he dicho esto, para que cuando aquella hora viniere, os acordéis que yo os lo había dicho. Esto empero no os lo dije al principio, porque yo estaba con vosotros.

But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.

But I have told you these things so that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you about them. I didn’t tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you.

Jetzt aber gehe ich hin zu dem, der mich gesandt hat, und keiner von euch fragt mich: ›Wohin gehst du?‹,

Mas ahora voy al que me envió; y ninguno de vosotros me pregunta: ¿Adónde vas?

But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?

But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’

sondern weil ich dies zu euch gesagt habe, hat die Traurigkeit euer Herz erfüllt.

Antes, porque os he hablado estas cosas, tristeza ha henchido vuestro corazón.

But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.

But because I have told you these things, sorrow has filled your heart.

Aber ich sage euch die Wahrheit: Es ist gut für euch, daß ich weggehe. Denn wenn ich nicht weggehe, so wird der Helfer nicht zu euch kommen; wenn ich aber hingegangen bin, werde ich ihn zu euch senden.

Empero yo os digo la verdad: Os es necesario que yo vaya: porque si yo no fuese, el Consolador no vendría á vosotros; mas si yo fuere, os le enviaré.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.

Und wenn er gekommen ist, wird er der Welt die Augen öffnen über Sünde und über Gerechtigkeit und über Gericht:

Y cuando él viniere redargüirá al mundo de pecado, y de justicia, y de juicio:

And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment;

über Sünde, (die darin besteht) daß sie nicht an mich glauben;

De pecado ciertamente, por cuanto no creen en mí;

Of sin, because they believe not on me;

about sin, because they don’t believe in me;

über Gerechtigkeit, (die darin besteht) daß ich zum Vater hingehe und ihr mich fortan nicht mehr seht;

Y de justicia, por cuanto voy al Padre, y no me veréis más;

Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

about righteousness, because I am going to my Father, and you won’t see me any more;

über Gericht, (das darin besteht) daß der Fürst dieser Welt gerichtet ist.

Y de juicio, por cuanto el príncipe de este mundo es juzgado.

Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

about judgment, because the prince of this world has been judged.

Noch vieles hätte ich euch zu sagen, doch ihr könnt es jetzt nicht tragen.

Aun tengo muchas cosas que deciros, mas ahora no las podéis llevar.

I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

“I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now.

Wenn aber jener gekommen ist, der Geist der Wahrheit, der wird euch in die ganze Wahrheit einführen; denn er wird nicht von sich selbst aus reden, sondern was er hört, das wird er reden und euch das Zukünftige verkündigen.

Pero cuando viniere aquel Espíritu de verdad, él os guiará á toda verdad; porque no hablará de sí mismo, sino que hablará todo lo que oyere, y os hará saber las cosas que han de venir.

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

However, when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.

Er wird mich verherrlichen, denn von meinem Eigentum wird er es nehmen und euch verkündigen. Alles, was der Vater hat, ist mein;

El me glorificará: porque tomará de lo mío, y os lo hará saber.

He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine and will declare it to you.

deshalb habe ich gesagt, daß er es von meinem Eigentum nimmt und es euch verkündigen wird.«

Todo lo que tiene el Padre, mío es: por eso dije que tomará de lo mío, y os lo hará saber.

All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

All things that the Father has are mine; therefore I said that he takes of mine and will declare it to you.

»Nur noch eine kurze Zeit, so seht ihr mich nicht mehr; dann wieder eine kurze Zeit, so werdet ihr mich sehen.«

Un poquito, y no me veréis; y otra vez un poquito, y me veréis: porque yo voy al Padre.

A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.

“A little while, and you will not see me. Again a little while, and you will see me.”

Da sagten einige von seinen Jüngern zueinander: »Was meint er damit, daß er zu uns sagt: ›Nur noch eine kurze Zeit, so seht ihr mich nicht mehr; dann wieder eine kurze Zeit, so werdet ihr mich sehen‹, und weiter: ›Ich gehe hin zum Vater‹?«

Entonces dijeron algunos de sus discípulos unos á otros: ¿Qué es esto que nos dice: Un poquito, y no me veréis; y otra vez un poquito, y me veréis: y, porque yo voy al Padre?

Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?

Some of his disciples therefore said to one another, “What is this that he says to us, ‘A little while, and you won’t see me, and again a little while, and you will see me;’ and, ‘Because I go to the Father’?”

Sie sagten also: »Was meint er mit dem Ausdruck ›eine kurze Zeit‹? Wir verstehen seine Worte nicht.«

Decían pues: ¿Qué es esto que dice: Un poquito? No entendemos lo que habla.

They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.

They said therefore, “What is this that he says, ‘A little while’? We don’t know what he is saying.”

Jesus merkte, daß sie ihn darüber befragen wollten, und sagte zu ihnen: »Darüber verhandelt ihr miteinander, (was das zu bedeuten habe) daß ich gesagt habe: ›Nur noch eine kurze Zeit, so seht ihr mich nicht mehr, dann wieder eine kurze Zeit, so werdet ihr mich sehen‹?

Y conoció Jesús que le querían preguntar, y díjoles: ¿Preguntáis entre vosotros de esto que dije: Un poquito, y no me veréis, y otra vez un poquito, y me veréis?

Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?

Therefore Jesus perceived that they wanted to ask him, and he said to them, “Do you inquire among yourselves concerning this, that I said, ‘A little while, and you won’t see me, and again a little while, and you will see me’?

Wahrlich, wahrlich ich sage euch: ihr werdet weinen und wehklagen, die Welt aber wird sich freuen; ihr werdet traurig sein, doch eure Traurigkeit wird zur Freude werden.

De cierto, de cierto os digo, que vosotros lloraréis y lamentaréis, y el mundo se alegrará: empero aunque vosotros estaréis tristes, vuestra tristeza se tornará en gozo.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

Most certainly I tell you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.

Wenn eine Frau Mutter werden soll, so ist sie traurig, weil ihre Stunde gekommen ist; wenn sie aber das Kind geboren hat, denkt sie nicht mehr an die Angst um der Freude willen, daß ein Mensch in die Welt geboren ist.

La mujer cuando pare, tiene dolor, porque es venida su hora; mas después que ha parido un niño, ya no se acuerda de la angustia, por el gozo de que haya nacido un hombre en el mundo.

A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.

A woman, when she gives birth, has sorrow because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she doesn’t remember the anguish any more, for the joy that a human being is born into the world.

So seid auch ihr jetzt in Traurigkeit; aber ich werde euch wiedersehen: dann wird euer Herz sich freuen, und niemand wird euch eure Freude rauben.

También, pues, vosotros ahora ciertamente tenéis tristeza; mas otra vez os veré, y se gozará vuestro corazón, y nadie quitará de vosotros vuestro gozo.

And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

Therefore you now have sorrow, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.

Und an jenem Tage werdet ihr mich um nichts mehr befragen. Wahrlich, wahrlich ich sage euch: Wenn ihr den Vater um etwas bitten werdet, so wird er es euch in meinem Namen geben.

Y aquel día no me preguntaréis nada. De cierto, de cierto os digo, que todo cuanto pidiereis al Padre en mi nombre, os lo dará.

And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

“In that day you will ask me no questions. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you.

Bisher habt ihr noch nie um etwas in meinem Namen gebeten: bittet, so werdet ihr empfangen, damit eure Freude vollkommen sei.«

Hasta ahora nada habéis pedido en mi nombre: pedid, y recibiréis, para que vuestro gozo sea cumplido.

Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.

»Dies habe ich euch in Gleichnissen verkündet; es kommt aber die Stunde, da werde ich nicht mehr in Gleichnissen zu euch reden, sondern euch mit voller Offenheit Kunde über den Vater geben.

Estas cosas os he hablado en proverbios: la hora viene cuando ya no os hablaré por proverbios, pero claramente os anunciaré del Padre.

These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.

“I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. But the time is coming when I will no more speak to you in figures of speech, but will tell you plainly about the Father.

An jenem Tage werdet ihr in meinem Namen bitten, und ich sage euch nicht, daß ich den Vater für euch bitten werde;

Aquel día pediréis en mi nombre: y no os digo, que yo rogaré al Padre por vosotros;

At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:

In that day you will ask in my name; and I don’t say to you that I will pray to the Father for you,

denn er selbst, der Vater, hat euch lieb, weil ihr mich geliebt und den Glauben gewonnen habt, daß ich von Gott ausgegangen bin.

Pues el mismo Padre os ama, porque vosotros me amasteis, y habéis creído que yo salí de Dios.

For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came from God.

Ich bin vom Vater ausgegangen und in die Welt gekommen; hinwiederum verlasse ich die Welt und kehre zum Vater zurück.« –

Salí del Padre, y he venido al mundo: otra vez dejo el mundo, y voy al Padre.

I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.

I came from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.”

Da sagten seine Jünger: »Siehe, jetzt redest du frei heraus und gebrauchst keine bildliche Rede mehr;

Dícenle sus discípulos: He aquí, ahora hablas claramente, y ningún proverbio dices.

His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.

His disciples said to him, “Behold, now you are speaking plainly, and using no figures of speech.

jetzt wissen wir, daß du alles weißt und niemand dich erst zu befragen braucht; darum glauben wir, daß du von Gott ausgegangen bist.«

Ahora entendemos que sabes todas las cosas, y no necesitas que nadie te pregunte: en esto creemos que has salido de Dios.

Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.

Now we know that you know all things, and don’t need for anyone to question you. By this we believe that you came from God.”

Jesus antwortete ihnen: »Jetzt glaubt ihr?

Respondióles Jesús: ¿Ahora creéis?

Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?

Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe?

Wisset wohl: es kommt die Stunde, ja sie ist schon da, daß ihr euch zerstreuen werdet, ein jeder in das Seine, und ihr mich allein lassen werdet. Und doch bin ich (alsdann) nicht allein, denn der Vater ist bei mir.

He aquí, la hora viene, y ha venido, que seréis esparcidos cada uno por su parte, y me dejaréis solo: mas no estoy solo, porque el Padre está conmigo.

Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

Behold, the time is coming, yes, and has now come, that you will be scattered, everyone to his own place, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

Dies habe ich zu euch geredet, damit ihr in mir Frieden habet. In der Welt habt ihr Bedrängnis; doch seid getrost: ich habe die Welt überwunden!«

Estas cosas os he hablado, para que en mí tengáis paz. En el mundo tendréis aflicción: mas confiad, yo he vencido al mundo.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.”
