»Les digo todas estas cosas para que no disminuya su fe.
ESTAS cosas os he hablado, para que no os escandalicéis.
These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.
“I have said these things to you so that you wouldn’t be caused to stumble.
A ustedes los echarán fuera de las sinagogas; y llegará el día en que cualquiera que los mate pensará que le está prestando un servicio a Dios.
Os echarán de las sinagogas; y aun viene la hora, cuando cualquiera que os matare, pensará que hace servicio á Dios.
They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God.
Harán estas cosas porque no nos han conocido ni al Padre ni a mí.
Y estas cosas os harán, porque no conocen al Padre ni á mí.
And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
They will do these things because they have not known the Father nor me.
Y les digo esto, para que cuando suceda se acuerden que ya se lo había dicho. No les dije esto desde el principio porque yo estaba con ustedes.
Mas os he dicho esto, para que cuando aquella hora viniere, os acordéis que yo os lo había dicho. Esto empero no os lo dije al principio, porque yo estaba con vosotros.
But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.
But I have told you these things so that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you about them. I didn’t tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you.
»Pero ahora regreso al que me envió, y ninguno de ustedes me pregunta a dónde voy.
Mas ahora voy al que me envió; y ninguno de vosotros me pregunta: ¿Adónde vas?
But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?
But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’
Al contrario, se han llenado de tristeza por lo que les dije.
Antes, porque os he hablado estas cosas, tristeza ha henchido vuestro corazón.
But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.
But because I have told you these things, sorrow has filled your heart.
Pero les digo la verdad: A ustedes les conviene que me vaya, porque si no lo hago, el Consolador no vendrá a ustedes; en cambio, si me voy, yo se lo enviaré.
Empero yo os digo la verdad: Os es necesario que yo vaya: porque si yo no fuese, el Consolador no vendría á vosotros; mas si yo fuere, os le enviaré.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.
Y cuando él venga, convencerá al mundo de su error en cuanto al pecado, a la justicia y al juicio.
Y cuando él viniere redargüirá al mundo de pecado, y de justicia, y de juicio:
And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment;
Los convencerá en cuanto al pecado, porque no creen en mí.
De pecado ciertamente, por cuanto no creen en mí;
Of sin, because they believe not on me;
about sin, because they don’t believe in me;
Los convencerá en cuanto a la justicia, porque voy al Padre y ustedes ya no podrán verme.
Y de justicia, por cuanto voy al Padre, y no me veréis más;
Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
about righteousness, because I am going to my Father, and you won’t see me any more;
Los convencerá en cuanto a juicio, porque el príncipe de este mundo ya ha sido juzgado.
Y de juicio, por cuanto el príncipe de este mundo es juzgado.
Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
about judgment, because the prince of this world has been judged.
»Tengo muchas cosas más que decirles, que por ahora no podrían soportar.
Aun tengo muchas cosas que deciros, mas ahora no las podéis llevar.
I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
“I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now.
Pero cuando venga el Espíritu de la verdad, él los guiará a toda la verdad, porque él no hablará por su propia cuenta, sino que dirá sólo lo que oiga y les anunciará las cosas que van a pasar.
Pero cuando viniere aquel Espíritu de verdad, él os guiará á toda verdad; porque no hablará de sí mismo, sino que hablará todo lo que oyere, y os hará saber las cosas que han de venir.
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
However, when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.
Él me glorificará porque tomará de lo mío y se lo dará a conocer a ustedes.
El me glorificará: porque tomará de lo mío, y os lo hará saber.
He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine and will declare it to you.
Todo lo que tiene el Padre es mío. Por eso les dije que el Espíritu tomará de lo mío y se lo dará a conocer a ustedes.
Todo lo que tiene el Padre, mío es: por eso dije que tomará de lo mío, y os lo hará saber.
All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
All things that the Father has are mine; therefore I said that he takes of mine and will declare it to you.
»Dentro de poco, ustedes ya no me verán. Pero un poco después volverán a verme».
Un poquito, y no me veréis; y otra vez un poquito, y me veréis: porque yo voy al Padre.
A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.
“A little while, and you will not see me. Again a little while, and you will see me.”
Algunos de sus discípulos se preguntaban unos a otros: «¿Qué quiere decir con eso de que: “dentro de poco, ustedes ya no me verán”, y “un poco después volverán a verme”, y “porque voy al Padre”?».
Entonces dijeron algunos de sus discípulos unos á otros: ¿Qué es esto que nos dice: Un poquito, y no me veréis; y otra vez un poquito, y me veréis: y, porque yo voy al Padre?
Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?
Some of his disciples therefore said to one another, “What is this that he says to us, ‘A little while, and you won’t see me, and again a little while, and you will see me;’ and, ‘Because I go to the Father’?”
Y seguían diciendo: «¿Qué quiere decir con eso de “dentro de poco”? No entendemos de qué habla».
Decían pues: ¿Qué es esto que dice: Un poquito? No entendemos lo que habla.
They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.
They said therefore, “What is this that he says, ‘A little while’? We don’t know what he is saying.”
Jesús se dio cuenta de que querían hacerle preguntas. Por eso les dijo: ―¿Se están preguntando qué significa: “Dentro de poco ya no me verán”, y “un poco después volverán a verme”?
Y conoció Jesús que le querían preguntar, y díjoles: ¿Preguntáis entre vosotros de esto que dije: Un poquito, y no me veréis, y otra vez un poquito, y me veréis?
Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?
Therefore Jesus perceived that they wanted to ask him, and he said to them, “Do you inquire among yourselves concerning this, that I said, ‘A little while, and you won’t see me, and again a little while, and you will see me’?
La verdad es que ustedes llorarán y se llenarán de tristeza, mientras que el mundo se alegrará. Ustedes se pondrán tristes, pero luego su tristeza se convertirá en alegría.
De cierto, de cierto os digo, que vosotros lloraréis y lamentaréis, y el mundo se alegrará: empero aunque vosotros estaréis tristes, vuestra tristeza se tornará en gozo.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
Most certainly I tell you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.
La mujer que va a dar a luz siente dolores porque le ha llegado su hora, pero después que nace la criatura se olvida del dolor por la alegría de haber traído un niño al mundo.
La mujer cuando pare, tiene dolor, porque es venida su hora; mas después que ha parido un niño, ya no se acuerda de la angustia, por el gozo de que haya nacido un hombre en el mundo.
A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
A woman, when she gives birth, has sorrow because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she doesn’t remember the anguish any more, for the joy that a human being is born into the world.
Eso mismo les pasa a ustedes, ahora están tristes, pero cuando vuelva a verlos se alegrarán y nadie podrá quitarles esa alegría.
También, pues, vosotros ahora ciertamente tenéis tristeza; mas otra vez os veré, y se gozará vuestro corazón, y nadie quitará de vosotros vuestro gozo.
And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
Therefore you now have sorrow, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.
Cuando llegue ese día ya no me preguntarán nada. Les aseguro que mi Padre les dará todo lo que le pidan en mi nombre.
Y aquel día no me preguntaréis nada. De cierto, de cierto os digo, que todo cuanto pidiereis al Padre en mi nombre, os lo dará.
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
“In that day you will ask me no questions. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you.
Hasta ahora no han pedido nada en mi nombre. Pidan y recibirán, para que su alegría sea completa.
Hasta ahora nada habéis pedido en mi nombre: pedid, y recibiréis, para que vuestro gozo sea cumplido.
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.
»Les he dicho todo esto por medio de comparaciones, pero viene la hora en que ya no usaré más comparaciones, sino que les hablaré claramente acerca de mi Padre.
Estas cosas os he hablado en proverbios: la hora viene cuando ya no os hablaré por proverbios, pero claramente os anunciaré del Padre.
These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
“I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. But the time is coming when I will no more speak to you in figures of speech, but will tell you plainly about the Father.
En aquel día ustedes pedirán en mi nombre. Y no digo que voy a rogar por ustedes al Padre,
Aquel día pediréis en mi nombre: y no os digo, que yo rogaré al Padre por vosotros;
At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
In that day you will ask in my name; and I don’t say to you that I will pray to the Father for you,
porque el Padre mismo los ama. Él los ama porque me aman y han creído que yo vengo de parte de Dios.
Pues el mismo Padre os ama, porque vosotros me amasteis, y habéis creído que yo salí de Dios.
For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came from God.
Salí del Padre y vine al mundo. Ahora dejo el mundo para volver al Padre».
Salí del Padre, y he venido al mundo: otra vez dejo el mundo, y voy al Padre.
I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
I came from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.”
Sus discípulos le dijeron: ―Ahora sí estás hablando claramente, sin usar comparaciones.
Dícenle sus discípulos: He aquí, ahora hablas claramente, y ningún proverbio dices.
His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.
His disciples said to him, “Behold, now you are speaking plainly, and using no figures of speech.
»Ya nos damos cuenta de que sabes todas las cosas, y que no hay necesidad de que nadie te haga preguntas. Por eso creemos que saliste de Dios».
Ahora entendemos que sabes todas las cosas, y no necesitas que nadie te pregunte: en esto creemos que has salido de Dios.
Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.
Now we know that you know all things, and don’t need for anyone to question you. By this we believe that you came from God.”
Jesús respondió: ―¿Hasta ahora me creen?
Respondióles Jesús: ¿Ahora creéis?
Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?
Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe?
Ya se acerca la hora, ya ha llegado, en que ustedes huirán cada uno por su lado y a mí me dejarán solo. Pero no estoy solo, porque el Padre está conmigo.
He aquí, la hora viene, y ha venido, que seréis esparcidos cada uno por su parte, y me dejaréis solo: mas no estoy solo, porque el Padre está conmigo.
Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
Behold, the time is coming, yes, and has now come, that you will be scattered, everyone to his own place, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
Yo les he dicho estas cosas para que en mí encuentren paz. En este mundo van a sufrir, pero anímense, yo he vencido al mundo.
Estas cosas os he hablado, para que en mí tengáis paz. En el mundo tendréis aflicción: mas confiad, yo he vencido al mundo.
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.”
