Estas cosas os las he dicho, para que no os escandalicéis, ni os turbéis.
ESTAS cosas os he hablado, para que no os escandalicéis.
These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.
“I have said these things to you so that you wouldn’t be caused to stumble.
Os echarán de las sinagogas; y aun va a venir tiempo en que quien os matare, creerá hacer un obsequio a Dios.
Os echarán de las sinagogas; y aun viene la hora, cuando cualquiera que os matare, pensará que hace servicio á Dios.
They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God.
Y os tratarán de esta suerte, porque no conocen al Padre, ni a mí.
Y estas cosas os harán, porque no conocen al Padre ni á mí.
And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
They will do these things because they have not known the Father nor me.
Pero yo os he advertido estas cosas con el fin de que cuando llegue la hora, os acordéis de que ya os las había anunciado.
Mas os he dicho esto, para que cuando aquella hora viniere, os acordéis que yo os lo había dicho. Esto empero no os lo dije al principio, porque yo estaba con vosotros.
But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.
But I have told you these things so that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you about them. I didn’t tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you.
Y no os las dije al principio , porque entonces yo estaba con vosotros. Mas ahora me voy a aquel que me envió; y ninguno de vosotros me pregunta: ¿Adónde vas?
Mas ahora voy al que me envió; y ninguno de vosotros me pregunta: ¿Adónde vas?
But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?
But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’
Porque os he dicho estas cosas, vuestro corazón se ha llenado de tristeza.
Antes, porque os he hablado estas cosas, tristeza ha henchido vuestro corazón.
But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.
But because I have told you these things, sorrow has filled your heart.
Mas yo os digo la verdad, os conviene que yo me vaya; porque si yo no me voy, el Consolador o abogado no vendrá a vosotros; pero si me voy, os lo enviaré.
Empero yo os digo la verdad: Os es necesario que yo vaya: porque si yo no fuese, el Consolador no vendría á vosotros; mas si yo fuere, os le enviaré.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.
Y cuando él venga, convencerá al mundo en orden al pecado, en orden a la justicia y en orden al juicio:
Y cuando él viniere redargüirá al mundo de pecado, y de justicia, y de juicio:
And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment;
En orden al pecado, por cuanto no han creído en mí;
De pecado ciertamente, por cuanto no creen en mí;
Of sin, because they believe not on me;
about sin, because they don’t believe in me;
respecto de la justicia de mi causa, porque yo me voy al Padre, y ya no me veréis;
Y de justicia, por cuanto voy al Padre, y no me veréis más;
Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
about righteousness, because I am going to my Father, and you won’t see me any more;
y tocante al juicio, porque el príncipe de este mundo ha sido ya juzgado.
Y de juicio, por cuanto el príncipe de este mundo es juzgado.
Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
about judgment, because the prince of this world has been judged.
Aún tengo otras muchas cosas que deciros; mas por ahora no podéis comprenderlas.
Aun tengo muchas cosas que deciros, mas ahora no las podéis llevar.
I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
“I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now.
Cuando venga el Espíritu de verdad, él os enseñará todas las verdades necesarias para la salvación; pues no hablará de suyo, sino que dirá todas las cosas que habrá oído, y os anunciará las venideras.
Pero cuando viniere aquel Espíritu de verdad, él os guiará á toda verdad; porque no hablará de sí mismo, sino que hablará todo lo que oyere, y os hará saber las cosas que han de venir.
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
However, when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.
El me glorificará: porque recibirá de lo mío, y os lo anunciará.
El me glorificará: porque tomará de lo mío, y os lo hará saber.
He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine and will declare it to you.
Todo lo que tiene el Padre, es mío. Por eso he dicho que recibirá de lo mío, y os lo anunciará.
Todo lo que tiene el Padre, mío es: por eso dije que tomará de lo mío, y os lo hará saber.
All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
All things that the Father has are mine; therefore I said that he takes of mine and will declare it to you.
Dentro de poco ya no me veréis; mas poco después, me volveréis a ver: porque me voy al Padre.
Un poquito, y no me veréis; y otra vez un poquito, y me veréis: porque yo voy al Padre.
A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.
“A little while, and you will not see me. Again a little while, and you will see me.”
Al oír esto algunos de los discípulos, se decían unos a otros: ¿Qué nos querrá decir con esto: Dentro de poco no me veréis; mas poco después me volveréis a ver, porque me voy al Padre?
Entonces dijeron algunos de sus discípulos unos á otros: ¿Qué es esto que nos dice: Un poquito, y no me veréis; y otra vez un poquito, y me veréis: y, porque yo voy al Padre?
Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?
Some of his disciples therefore said to one another, “What is this that he says to us, ‘A little while, and you won’t see me, and again a little while, and you will see me;’ and, ‘Because I go to the Father’?”
Decían, pues: ¿Qué poquito de tiempo es éste de que habla? No entendemos lo que quiere decirnos.
Decían pues: ¿Qué es esto que dice: Un poquito? No entendemos lo que habla.
They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.
They said therefore, “What is this that he says, ‘A little while’? We don’t know what he is saying.”
Conoció Jesús que deseaban preguntarle, y les dijo: Vosotros estáis tratando y preguntándoos unos a otros por qué habré dicho: Dentro de poco ya no me veréis; mas poco después me volveréis a ver.
Y conoció Jesús que le querían preguntar, y díjoles: ¿Preguntáis entre vosotros de esto que dije: Un poquito, y no me veréis, y otra vez un poquito, y me veréis?
Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?
Therefore Jesus perceived that they wanted to ask him, and he said to them, “Do you inquire among yourselves concerning this, that I said, ‘A little while, and you won’t see me, and again a little while, and you will see me’?
En verdad, en verdad os digo, que vosotros lloraréis, y lamentaréis mientras el mundo se regocijará; os entristeceréis, pero vuestra tristeza se convertirá en gozo.
De cierto, de cierto os digo, que vosotros lloraréis y lamentaréis, y el mundo se alegrará: empero aunque vosotros estaréis tristes, vuestra tristeza se tornará en gozo.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
Most certainly I tell you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.
La mujer en los dolores del parto está poseída de tristeza, porque le vino su hora; mas una vez que ha dado a luz un infante, ya no se acuerda de su angustia, con el gozo que tiene de haber dado un hombre al mundo.
La mujer cuando pare, tiene dolor, porque es venida su hora; mas después que ha parido un niño, ya no se acuerda de la angustia, por el gozo de que haya nacido un hombre en el mundo.
A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
A woman, when she gives birth, has sorrow because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she doesn’t remember the anguish any more, for the joy that a human being is born into the world.
Así vosotros ahora a la verdad padecéis tristeza; pero yo volveré a visitaros, y vuestro corazón se bañará en gozo, y nadie os quitará vuestro gozo.
También, pues, vosotros ahora ciertamente tenéis tristeza; mas otra vez os veré, y se gozará vuestro corazón, y nadie quitará de vosotros vuestro gozo.
And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
Therefore you now have sorrow, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.
Entonces no habréis de preguntarme cosa alguna. En verdad, en verdad os digo, que cuanto pidiereis al Padre en mi nombre, os lo concederá.
Y aquel día no me preguntaréis nada. De cierto, de cierto os digo, que todo cuanto pidiereis al Padre en mi nombre, os lo dará.
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
“In that day you will ask me no questions. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you.
Hasta ahora nada le habéis pedido en mi nombre: Pedidle, y recibiréis, para que vuestro gozo sea completo.
Hasta ahora nada habéis pedido en mi nombre: pedid, y recibiréis, para que vuestro gozo sea cumplido.
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.
Estas cosas os he dicho usando de parábolas. Va llegando el tiempo en que ya no os hablaré con parábolas, sino que abiertamente os anunciaré las cosas del Padre.
Estas cosas os he hablado en proverbios: la hora viene cuando ya no os hablaré por proverbios, pero claramente os anunciaré del Padre.
These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
“I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. But the time is coming when I will no more speak to you in figures of speech, but will tell you plainly about the Father.
Entonces le pediréis en mi nombre; y no os digo que yo intercederé con mi Padre por vosotros,
Aquel día pediréis en mi nombre: y no os digo, que yo rogaré al Padre por vosotros;
At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
In that day you will ask in my name; and I don’t say to you that I will pray to the Father for you,
siendo cierto que el mismo Padre os ama, porque vosotros me habéis amado, y creído que yo he salido de Dios.
Pues el mismo Padre os ama, porque vosotros me amasteis, y habéis creído que yo salí de Dios.
For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came from God.
Salí del Padre, y vine al mundo; ahora dejo el mundo y otra vez voy al Padre.
Salí del Padre, y he venido al mundo: otra vez dejo el mundo, y voy al Padre.
I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
I came from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.”
Le dijeron sus discípulos: Ahora sí que hablas claro, y no en proverbios,
Dícenle sus discípulos: He aquí, ahora hablas claramente, y ningún proverbio dices.
His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.
His disciples said to him, “Behold, now you are speaking plainly, and using no figures of speech.
ahora conocemos que tú lo sabes todo, y no necesitas que nadie te haga preguntas; por donde creemos que has salido de Dios.
Ahora entendemos que sabes todas las cosas, y no necesitas que nadie te pregunte: en esto creemos que has salido de Dios.
Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.
Now we know that you know all things, and don’t need for anyone to question you. By this we believe that you came from God.”
Les respondió Jesús : ¿Y qué, vosotros ahora creéis?
Respondióles Jesús: ¿Ahora creéis?
Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?
Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe?
Pues sabed que viene el tiempo, y ya llegó, en que seréis esparcidos, y cada uno de vosotros se irá por su lado, y me dejaréis solo; si aunque no estoy solo, porque el Padre está siempre conmigo.
He aquí, la hora viene, y ha venido, que seréis esparcidos cada uno por su parte, y me dejaréis solo: mas no estoy solo, porque el Padre está conmigo.
Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
Behold, the time is coming, yes, and has now come, that you will be scattered, everyone to his own place, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
Estas cosas os he dicho con el fin de que halléis en mí la paz. En el mundo tendréis grandes tribulaciones, pero tened confianza, yo he vencido al mundo.
Estas cosas os he hablado, para que en mí tengáis paz. En el mundo tendréis aflicción: mas confiad, yo he vencido al mundo.
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.”
