Depois de dizer essas coisas, Jesus atravessou o riacho de Cedrom com seus discípulos e entrou em um bosque de oliveiras.

COMO Jesús hubo dicho estas cosas, salióse con sus discípulos tras el arroyo de Cedrón, donde estaba un huerto, en el cual entró Jesús y sus discípulos.

When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples.

When Jesus had spoken these words, he went out with his disciples over the brook Kidron, where there was a garden, into which he and his disciples entered.

Judas, o traidor, conhecia aquele lugar, pois Jesus havia ido ali com seus discípulos muitas vezes.

Y también Judas, el que le entregaba, sabía aquel lugar; porque muchas veces Jesús se juntaba allí con sus discípulos.

And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.

Now Judas, who betrayed him, also knew the place, for Jesus often met there with his disciples.

Os sacerdotes principais e os fariseus haviam dado a Judas um pelotão de soldados e alguns guardas. Então eles chegaram ali com tochas, lanternas e armas.

Judas pues tomando una compañía, y ministros de los pontífices y de los Fariseos, vino allí con linternas y antorchas, y con armas.

Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.

Judas then, having taken a detachment of soldiers and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.

Jesus, sabendo perfeitamente tudo o que ia acontecer, foi ao encontro deles e perguntou: “A quem vocês estão procurando?”

Empero Jesús, sabiendo todas las cosas que habían de venir sobre él, salió delante, y díjoles: ¿A quién buscáis?

Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?

Jesus therefore, knowing all the things that were happening to him, went out and said to them, “Who are you looking for?”

“A Jesus de Nazaré”, responderam. “Sou eu”, disse Jesus. (E Judas, o traidor, estava com eles.)

Respondiéronle: A Jesús Nazareno. Díceles Jesús: Yo soy. (Y estaba también con ellos Judas, el que le entregaba.)

They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.

They answered him, “Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus said to them, “I am he.” Judas also, who betrayed him, was standing with them.

Quando Jesus disse: “Sou eu”, eles recuaram e caíram para trás, na terra!

Y como les dijo, Yo soy, volvieron atrás, y cayeron en tierra.

As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.

When therefore he said to them, “I am he,” they went backward and fell to the ground.

Mais uma vez ele perguntou: “A quem vocês estão procurando?” E outra vez responderam: “A Jesus de Nazaré”.

Volvióles, pues, á preguntar: ¿A quién buscáis? Y ellos dijeron: A Jesús Nazareno.

Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.

Again therefore he asked them, “Who are you looking for?” They said, “Jesus of Nazareth.”

“Eu já disse que sou eu”, disse Jesus; “e já que é a mim que vocês estão procurando, deixem estes outros ir embora”.

Respondió Jesús: Os he dicho que yo soy: pues si á mí buscáis, dejad ir á éstos.

Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:

Jesus answered, “I told you that I am he. If therefore you seek me, let these go their way,”

Ele disse isso para que se cumprisse o que ele tinha dito antes: “Não perdi nem um só daqueles que o Senhor me deu”.

Para que se cumpliese la palabra que había dicho: De los que me diste, ninguno de ellos perdí.

That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none.

that the word might be fulfilled which he spoke, “Of those whom you have given me, I have lost none.”

Nisto, Simão Pedro puxou uma espada e cortou a orelha direita de Malco, o servo do sumo sacerdote.

Entonces Simón Pedro, que tenía espada, sacóla, é hirió al siervo del pontífice, y le cortó la oreja derecha. Y el siervo se llamaba Malco.

Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.

Simon Peter therefore, having a sword, drew it, struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.

Mas Jesus disse a Pedro: “Guarde a sua espada. Acaso não beberei o cálice que o Pai me deu?”

Jesús entonces dijo á Pedro: Mete tu espada en la vaina: el vaso que el Padre me ha dado, ¿no lo tengo de beber?

Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

Jesus therefore said to Peter, “Put the sword into its sheath. The cup which the Father has given me, shall I not surely drink it?”

Então, o pelotão de soldados com o seu comandante e os guardas dos judeus prenderam e amarraram Jesus.

Entonces la compañía y el tribuno, y los ministros de los Judíos, prendieron á Jesús y le ataron,

Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him,

So the detachment, the commanding officer, and the officers of the Jews seized Jesus and bound him,

Primeiramente o levaram a Anás, que era sogro de Caifás, o sumo sacerdote naquele ano.

Y lleváronle primeramente á Anás; porque era suegro de Caifás, el cual era pontífice de aquel año.

And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year.

and led him to Annas first, for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas, who was high priest that year.

Caifás foi quem disse aos outros líderes judaicos: “Seria melhor que um homem morresse pelo povo”.

Y era Caifás el que había dado el consejo á los Judíos, que era necesario que un hombre muriese por el pueblo.

Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.

Now it was Caiaphas who advised the Jews that it was expedient that one man should perish for the people.

Simão Pedro foi seguindo Jesus, como fazia um dos discípulos que era conhecido do sumo sacerdote. Portanto aquele outro discípulo teve licença de entrar no pátio com Jesus,

Y seguía á Jesús Simón Pedro, y otro discípulo. Y aquel discípulo era conocido del pontífice, y entró con Jesús al atrio del pontífice;

And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest.

Simon Peter followed Jesus, as did another disciple. Now that disciple was known to the high priest, and entered in with Jesus into the court of the high priest;

enquanto Pedro ficou do lado de fora do portão esperando. Então o outro discípulo, que era conhecido do sumo sacerdote, falou com a moça que tomava conta do portão, e ela deixou Pedro entrar.

Mas Pedro estaba fuera á la puerta. Y salió aquel discípulo que era conocido del pontífice, y habló á la portera, y metió dentro á Pedro.

But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.

but Peter was standing at the door outside. So the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to her who kept the door, and brought in Peter.

Ela então perguntou a Pedro: “O senhor não é um dos discípulos daquele homem?” “Não”, disse ele, “eu não sou!”

Entonces la criada portera dijo á Pedro: ¿No eres tú también de los discípulos de este hombre? Dice él: No soy.

Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Art not thou also one of this man’s disciples? He saith, I am not.

Then the maid who kept the door said to Peter, “Are you also one of this man’s disciples?” He said, “I am not.”

Os guardas e os servos achavam-se ao redor de uma fogueira que tinham feito, porque fazia frio; e Pedro estava ali com eles, aquecendo-se.

Y estaban en pie los siervos y los ministros que habían allegado las ascuas; porque hacía frío, y calentábanse: y estaba también con ellos Pedro en pie, calentándose.

And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.

Now the servants and the officers were standing there, having made a fire of coals, for it was cold. They were warming themselves. Peter was with them, standing and warming himself.

Lá dentro, o sumo sacerdote começou a fazer perguntas a Jesus a respeito dos seus discípulos e dos seus ensinamentos.

Y el pontífice preguntó á Jesús acerca de sus discípulos y de su doctrina.

The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.

The high priest therefore asked Jesus about his disciples and about his teaching.

Jesus respondeu: “O que eu ensinei é muito conhecido, porque eu tenho pregado abertamente na sinagoga e no templo; eu tenho sido ouvido por todos os líderes judaicos e não ensino em particular nada que não tenha dito em público.

Jesús le respondió: Yo manifiestamente he hablado al mundo: yo siempre he enseñado en la sinagoga y en el templo, donde se juntan todos los Judíos, y nada he hablado en oculto.

Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.

Jesus answered him, “I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where the Jews always meet. I said nothing in secret.

Por que o senhor está me fazendo estas perguntas? Pergunte àqueles que me ouviram. Certamente eles sabem o que eu disse”.

¿Qué me preguntas á mí? Pregunta á los que han oído, qué les haya yo hablado: he aquí, ésos saben lo que yo he dicho.

Why askest thou me? ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said.

Why do you ask me? Ask those who have heard me what I said to them. Behold, they know the things which I said.”

Quando Jesus disse isso, um dos guardas que estavam ali deu um soco no rosto de Jesus. “Isso é maneira de responder ao sumo sacerdote?” perguntou ele.

Y como él hubo dicho esto, uno de los criados que estaba allí, dió una bofetada á Jesús, diciendo: ¿Así respondes al pontífice?

And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so?

When he had said this, one of the officers standing by slapped Jesus with his hand, saying, “Do you answer the high priest like that?”

“Se eu disse algo errado, dê testemunho disso”, respondeu Jesus. “Se, contudo, disse a verdade, porque você me feriu?”

Respondióle Jesús: Si he hablado mal, da testimonio del mal: y si bien, ¿por qué me hieres?

Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?

Jesus answered him, “If I have spoken evil, testify of the evil; but if well, why do you beat me?”

Então Anás enviou Jesus amarrado a Caifás, o sumo sacerdote.

Y Anás le había enviado atado á Caifás pontífice.

Now Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.

Annas sent him bound to Caiaphas, the high priest.

Enquanto isso, Simão Pedro ainda estava perto da fogueira se aquecendo, e perguntaram novamente a ele: “Você não é um dos discípulos dele?” Ele negou, dizendo: “Claro que não”.

Estaba pues Pedro en pie calentándose. Y dijéronle: ¿No eres tú de sus discípulos? El negó, y dijo: No soy.

And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not.

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore to him, “You aren’t also one of his disciples, are you?” He denied it and said, “I am not.”

Mas um dos servos da casa do sumo sacerdote, parente do homem de quem Pedro havia cortado a orelha, perguntou: “Eu não vi você lá no bosque de oliveiras com ele?”

Uno de los siervos del pontífice, pariente de aquél á quien Pedro había cortado la oreja, le dice: ¿No te vi yo en el huerto con él?

One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?

One of the servants of the high priest, being a relative of him whose ear Peter had cut off, said, “Didn’t I see you in the garden with him?”

Outra vez Pedro negou. E no mesmo instante um galo cantou.

Y negó Pedro otra vez: y luego el gallo cantó.

Peter then denied again: and immediately the cock crew.

Peter therefore denied it again, and immediately the rooster crowed.

O julgamento de Jesus diante de Caifás terminou nas primeiras horas da manhã. Daí ele foi levado ao palácio do governador romano. Os seus acusadores não entraram para evitar a contaminação cerimonial, pois queriam comer o cordeiro da Páscoa.

Y llevaron á Jesús de Caifás al pretorio: y era por la mañana: y ellos no entraron en el pretorio por no ser contaminados, sino que comiesen la pascua.

Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.

They led Jesus therefore from Caiaphas into the Praetorium. It was early, and they themselves didn’t enter into the Praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.

Então o governador Pilatos saiu ao encontro deles e perguntou: “Qual é a acusação que vocês fazem contra este homem?”

Entonces salió Pilato á ellos fuera, y dijo: ¿Qué acusación traéis contra este hombre?

Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man?

Pilate therefore went out to them and said, “What accusation do you bring against this man?”

“Nós não o teríamos prendido se ele não fosse um criminoso!”, disseram eles.

Respondieron y dijéronle: Si éste no fuera malhechor, no te le habríamos entregado.

They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee.

They answered him, “If this man weren’t an evildoer, we wouldn’t have delivered him up to you.”

“Então levem o acusado para ser julgado por vocês mesmos, conforme a lei de vocês”, disse Pilatos. “Mas nós não temos o direito de executar ninguém”, disseram eles, “e é necessária a sua aprovação”.

Díceles entonces Pilato: Tomadle vosotros, y juzgadle según vuestra ley. Y los Judíos le dijeron: A nosotros no es lícito matar á nadie:

Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:

Pilate therefore said to them, “Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law.” Therefore the Jews said to him, “It is illegal for us to put anyone to death,”

Isso aconteceu para que se cumprisse o que Jesus havia dito a respeito do modo pelo qual morreria.

Para que se cumpliese el dicho de Jesús, que había dicho, dando á entender de qué muerte había de morir.

That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die.

that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying by what kind of death he should die.

Então Pilatos entrou novamente no palácio e ordenou que trouxessem Jesus. “Você é o Rei dos Judeus?”, inquiriu.

Así que, Pilato volvió á entrar en el pretorio, y llamó á Jesús, y díjole: ¿Eres tú el Rey de los Judíos?

Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?

Pilate therefore entered again into the Praetorium, called Jesus, and said to him, “Are you the King of the Jews?”

Perguntou-lhe Jesus: “Essa pergunta é sua, ou os outros falaram a meu respeito?”

Respondióle Jesús: ¿Dices tú esto de ti mismo, ó te lo han dicho otros de mí?

Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?

Jesus answered him, “Do you say this by yourself, or did others tell you about me?”

“Acaso sou judeu?”, respondeu Pilatos. “O seu próprio povo e os sacerdotes principais entregaram você a mim. Por quê? Que foi que você fez?”

Pilato respondió: ¿Soy yo Judío? Tu gente, y los pontífices, te han entregado á mí: ¿qué has hecho?

Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?

Pilate answered, “I’m not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests delivered you to me. What have you done?”

Então Jesus respondeu: “O meu reino não é deste mundo. Se fosse, os meus seguidores teriam lutado quando eu fui preso pelos líderes judeus. Mas o meu Reino não é daqui”.

Respondió Jesús: Mi reino no es de este mundo: si de este mundo fuera mi reino, mis servidores pelearían para que yo no fuera entregado á los Judíos: ahora, pues, mi reino no es de aquí.

Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Jesus answered, “My Kingdom is not of this world. If my Kingdom were of this world, then my servants would fight, that I wouldn’t be delivered to the Jews. But now my Kingdom is not from here.”

Pilatos respondeu: “Então você é rei?” “O senhor está dizendo que sou rei”, disse Jesus. “Eu nasci para isso. Eu vim a este mundo para testemunhar da verdade. Todos os que estão do lado da verdade ouvem a minha voz”.

Díjole entonces Pilato: ¿Luego rey eres tú? Respondió Jesús: Tú dices que yo soy rey. Yo para esto he nacido, y para esto he venido al mundo, para dar testimonio á la verdad. Todo aquél que es de la verdad, oye mi voz.

Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

Pilate therefore said to him, “Are you a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this reason I have been born, and for this reason I have come into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”

“Que é a verdade?” perguntou Pilatos. Depois ele saiu outra vez para onde o povo estava e disse: “Pelo meu exame, não há nada contra ele.

Dícele Pilato: ¿Qué cosa es verdad? Y como hubo dicho esto, salió otra vez á los Judíos, y díceles: Yo no hallo en él ningún crimen.

Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.

Pilate said to him, “What is truth?” When he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no basis for a charge against him.

Mas vocês têm um costume de cada ano pedir que na Páscoa eu solte alguém da prisão. Portanto, se vocês quiserem, soltarei o ‘Rei dos Judeus’ ”.

Empero vosotros tenéis costumbre, que os suelte uno en la Pascua: ¿queréis, pues, que os suelte al Rey de los Judíos?

But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?

But you have a custom that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Therefore, do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”

Porém eles gritaram: “Não! Esse homem, não. Queremos Barrabás!” Barrabás era um assaltante.

Entonces todos dieron voces otra vez, diciendo: No á éste, sino á Barrabás. Y Barrabás era ladrón.

Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.

Then they all shouted again, saying, “Not this man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.
