Da ließ nun Pilatus Jesus ergreifen und geißeln;

ASÍ que, entonces tomó Pilato á Jesús, y le azotó.

Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.

So Pilate then took Jesus and flogged him.

dann flochten die Soldaten eine Dornenkrone, setzten sie ihm aufs Haupt und legten ihm einen scharlachroten Mantel um;

Y los soldados entretejieron de espinas una corona, y pusiéronla sobre su cabeza, y le vistieron de una ropa de grana;

And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,

The soldiers twisted thorns into a crown and put it on his head, and dressed him in a purple garment.

hierauf traten sie vor ihn hin und riefen aus: »Sei gegrüßt, Judenkönig!« und versetzten ihm Schläge ins Gesicht.

Y decían: ¡Salve, Rey de los Judíos! y dábanle de bofetadas.

And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.

They kept saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and they kept slapping him.

Pilatus kam dann wieder heraus und sagte zu ihnen: »Seht, ich führe ihn zu euch heraus, damit ihr erkennt, daß ich keinerlei Schuld an ihm finde.«

Entonces Pilato salió otra vez fuera, y díjoles: He aquí, os le traigo fuera, para que entendáis que ningún crimen hallo en él.

Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.

Then Pilate went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I bring him out to you, that you may know that I find no basis for a charge against him.”

So kam denn Jesus heraus, indem er die Dornenkrone und den Purpurmantel trug, und Pilatus sagte zu ihnen: »Seht, der Mensch!«

Y salió Jesús fuera, llevando la corona de espinas y la ropa de grana. Y díceles Pilato: He aquí el hombre.

Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!

Jesus therefore came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple garment. Pilate said to them, “Behold, the man!”

Als ihn nun die Hohenpriester und die Tempeldiener erblickten, schrien sie: »Ans Kreuz mit ihm, ans Kreuz!« Pilatus entgegnete ihnen: »Nehmt ihr ihn und kreuzigt ihn! Denn ich finde keine Schuld an ihm.«

Y como le vieron los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los servidores, dieron voces diciendo: Crucifícale, crucifícale. Díceles Pilato: Tomadle vosotros, y crucificadle; porque yo no hallo en él crimen.

When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.

When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him, they shouted, saying, “Crucify! Crucify!” Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves and crucify him, for I find no basis for a charge against him.”

Die Juden antworteten ihm: »Wir haben ein Gesetz, und nach diesem Gesetz muß er sterben, weil er sich selbst zu Gottes Sohn gemacht hat.«

Respondiéronle los Judíos: Nosotros tenemos ley, y según nuestra ley debe morir, porque se hizo Hijo de Dios.

The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

Als nun Pilatus dies Wort hörte, geriet er in noch größere Angst;

Y como Pilato oyó esta palabra, tuvo más miedo.

When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;

When therefore Pilate heard this saying, he was more afraid.

er ging also wieder in die Statthalterei hinein und fragte Jesus: »Woher bist du?« Jesus aber gab ihm keine Antwort.

Y entró otra vez en el pretorio, y dijo á Jesús: ¿De dónde eres tú? Mas Jesús no le dió respuesta.

And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.

He entered into the Praetorium again, and said to Jesus, “Where are you from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.

Da sagte Pilatus zu ihm: »Mir willst du nicht Rede stehen? Weißt du nicht, daß ich die Macht habe, dich freizugeben, und auch die Macht habe, dich kreuzigen zu lassen?«

Entonces dícele Pilato: ¿A mí no me hablas? ¿no sabes que tengo potestad para crucificarte, y que tengo potestad para soltarte?

Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?

Pilate therefore said to him, “Aren’t you speaking to me? Don’t you know that I have power to release you and have power to crucify you?”

Jesus antwortete ihm: »Du hättest keine Macht über mich, wenn sie dir nicht von oben her gegeben wäre; deshalb trifft den, welcher mich dir ausgeliefert hat, eine größere Schuld.«

Respondió Jesús: Ninguna potestad tendrías contra mí, si no te fuese dado de arriba: por tanto, el que á ti me ha entregado, mayor pecado tiene.

Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.

Jesus answered, “You would have no power at all against me, unless it were given to you from above. Therefore he who delivered me to you has greater sin.”

Von da an suchte Pilatus ihn freizugeben; aber die Juden schrien: »Gibst du diesen frei, so bist du kein Freund des Kaisers! Jeder, der sich selbst zum König macht, lehnt sich gegen den Kaiser auf!«

Desde entonces procuraba Pilato soltarle; mas los Judíos daban voces, diciendo: Si á éste sueltas, no eres amigo de César: cualquiera que se hace rey, á César contradice.

And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Cæsar’s friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Cæsar.

At this, Pilate was seeking to release him, but the Jews cried out, saying, “If you release this man, you aren’t Caesar’s friend! Everyone who makes himself a king speaks against Caesar!”

Als Pilatus diese Worte hörte, ließ er Jesus hinausführen und setzte sich auf den Richterstuhl an dem Platze, welcher ›Steinpflaster‹, auf hebräisch Gabbatha, heißt.

Entonces Pilato, oyendo este dicho, llevó fuera á Jesús, y se sentó en el tribunal en el lugar que se dice Lithóstrotos, y en hebreo Gabbatha.

When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.

When Pilate therefore heard these words, he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called “The Pavement”, but in Hebrew, “Gabbatha.”

Es war aber der Rüsttag auf das Passahfest, und zwar um die sechste Stunde. Nun sagte Pilatus zu den Juden: »Seht, da ist euer König!«

Y era la víspera de la Pascua, y como la hora de sexta. Entonces dijo á los Judíos: He aquí vuestro Rey.

And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!

Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, at about the sixth hour. He said to the Jews, “Behold, your King!”

Da schrien jene: »Weg, weg mit ihm, kreuzige ihn!« Pilatus entgegnete ihnen: »Euren König soll ich kreuzigen lassen?« Die Hohenpriester antworteten: »Wir haben keinen König als den Kaiser!«

Mas ellos dieron voces: Quita, quita, crucifícale. Díceles Pilato: ¿A vuestro Rey he de crucificar? Respondieron los pontífices: No tenemos rey sino á César.

But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Cæsar.

They cried out, “Away with him! Away with him! Crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar!”

a Darauf übergab er ihnen Jesus zur Kreuzigung. b So übernahmen sie denn Jesus;

Así que entonces lo entregó á ellos para que fuese crucificado. Y tomaron á Jesús, y le llevaron.

Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.

So then he delivered him to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus and led him away.

und dieser ging, indem er sein Kreuz selber trug, (aus der Stadt) hinaus nach der sogenannten ›Schädelstätte‹, die auf hebräisch Golgatha heißt;

Y llevando su cruz, salió al lugar que se dice de la Calavera, y en hebreo, Gólgotha;

And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:

He went out, bearing his cross, to the place called “The Place of a Skull”, which is called in Hebrew, “Golgotha”,

dort kreuzigten sie ihn und mit ihm noch zwei andere auf beiden Seiten, Jesus aber in der Mitte.

Donde le crucificaron, y con él otros dos, uno á cada lado, y Jesús en medio.

Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.

Auch eine Aufschrift hatte Pilatus schreiben und oben am Kreuz anbringen lassen; sie lautete: »Jesus von Nazareth, der König der Juden.«

Y escribió también Pilato un título, que puso encima de la cruz. Y el escrito era: JESUS NAZARENO, REY DE LOS JUDIOS.

And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Pilate wrote a title also, and put it on the cross. There was written, “JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

Diese Aufschrift nun lasen viele von den Juden, weil der Platz, wo Jesus gekreuzigt wurde, nahe bei der Stadt lag und die Aufschrift in hebräischer, römischer und griechischer Sprache abgefaßt war.

Y muchos de los Judíos leyeron este título: porque el lugar donde estaba crucificado Jesús era cerca de la ciudad: y estaba escrito en hebreo, en griego, y en latín.

This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.

Therefore many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, and in Greek.

Da sagten die Hohenpriester der Juden zu Pilatus: »Schreibe nicht: ›Der König der Juden‹, sondern: ›Dieser Mensch hat behauptet, er sei der König der Juden‹!«

Y decían á Pilato los pontífices de los Judíos: No escribas, Rey de los Judíos: sino, que él dijo: Rey soy de los Judíos.

Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.

The chief priests of the Jews therefore said to Pilate, “Don’t write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but, ‘he said, “I am King of the Jews.”’”

Pilatus (aber) antwortete: »Was ich geschrieben habe, das habe ich geschrieben!«

Respondió Pilato: Lo que he escrito, he escrito.

Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.

Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”

Als nun die Soldaten Jesus gekreuzigt hatten, nahmen sie seine Kleidungsstücke und machten vier Teile daraus, für jeden Soldaten einen Teil, außerdem noch das Unterkleid. Dieses Unterkleid war aber ohne Naht, von oben an in einem Stück gewebt.

Y como los soldados hubieron crucificado á Jesús, tomaron sus vestidos, é hicieron cuatro partes (para cada soldado una parte); y la túnica; mas la túnica era sin costura, toda tejida desde arriba.

Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.

Da sagten sie zueinander: »Wir wollen es nicht zerschneiden, sondern darum losen, wem es gehören soll« – so sollte das Schriftwort seine Erfüllung finden: »Sie haben meine Kleider unter sich verteilt und über mein Gewand das Los geworfen.« Auf diese Weise verfuhren also die Soldaten.

Y dijeron entre ellos: No la partamos, sino echemos suertes sobre ella, de quién será; para que se cumpliese la Escritura, que dice: Partieron para sí mis vestidos, y sobre mi vestidura echaron suertes. Y los soldados hicieron esto.

They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.

Then they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it to decide whose it will be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which says, “They parted my garments among them. They cast lots for my clothing.” Therefore the soldiers did these things.

Es standen aber beim Kreuze Jesu seine Mutter und die Schwester seiner Mutter, auch Maria, die Frau des Klopas, und Maria von Magdala.

Y estaban junto á la cruz de Jesús su madre, y la hermana de su madre, María mujer de Cleofas, y María Magdalena.

Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.

But standing by Jesus’ cross were his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.

Als nun Jesus seine Mutter und neben ihr den Jünger, den er (besonders) lieb hatte, stehen sah, sagte er zu seiner Mutter: »Frau, siehe dein Sohn!«

Y como vió Jesús á la madre, y al discípulo que él amaba, que estaba presente, dice á su madre: Mujer, he ahí tu hijo.

When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!

Therefore when Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing there, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!”

Darauf sagte er zu dem Jünger: »Siehe deine Mutter!« Und von dieser Stunde an nahm der Jünger sie zu sich in sein Haus.

Después dice al discípulo: He ahí tu madre. Y desde aquella hora el discípulo la recibió consigo.

Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour, the disciple took her to his own home.

Darauf, weil Jesus wußte, daß nunmehr alles vollbracht war, sagte er, damit die Schrift ganz erfüllt würde: »Mich dürstet.«

Después de esto, sabiendo Jesús que todas las cosas eran ya cumplidas, para que la Escritura se cumpliese, dijo: Sed tengo.

After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

After this, Jesus, seeing that all things were now finished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I am thirsty!”

Es stand dort nun ein mit Essig gefülltes Gefäß. Sie umwickelten also einen mit dem Essig getränkten Schwamm mit Ysop und hielten ihm diesen an den Mund.

Y estaba allí un vaso lleno de vinagre: entonces ellos hinchieron una esponja de vinagre, y rodeada á un hisopo, se la llegaron á la boca.

Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.

Now a vessel full of vinegar was set there; so they put a sponge full of the vinegar on hyssop, and held it at his mouth.

Als nun Jesus den Essig genommen hatte, sagte er: »Es ist vollbracht!«, neigte dann das Haupt und gab den Geist auf.

Y como Jesús tomó el vinagre, dijo: Consumado es. Y habiendo inclinado la cabeza, dió el espíritu.

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Weil es nun Rüsttag war, trugen die Juden, damit die Leichen nicht während des Sabbats am Kreuz blieben – dieser Sabbattag war nämlich ein hoher Festtag –, dem Pilatus die Bitte vor, es möchten ihnen die Schenkel mit Keulen zerschlagen und sie dann (vom Kreuz) herabgenommen werden.

Entonces los Judíos, por cuanto era la víspera de la Pascua, para que los cuerpos no quedasen en la cruz en el sábado, pues era el gran día del sábado, rogaron á Pilato que se les quebrasen las piernas, y fuesen quitados.

The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

Therefore the Jews, because it was the Preparation Day, so that the bodies wouldn’t remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a special one), asked of Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away.

So kamen denn die Soldaten und zerschlugen dem ersten die Schenkel, ebenso auch dem andern, der mit (Jesus) gekreuzigt worden war.

Y vinieron los soldados, y quebraron las piernas al primero, y asimismo al otro que había sido crucificado con él.

Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.

Therefore the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with him;

Als sie aber zu Jesus kamen und sahen, daß er bereits tot war, zerschlugen sie ihm die Schenkel nicht,

Mas cuando vinieron á Jesús, como le vieron ya muerto, no le quebraron las piernas:

But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:

but when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they didn’t break his legs.

sondern einer von den Soldaten stieß ihn mit seiner Lanze in die Seite; da floß sogleich Blut und Wasser heraus.

Empero uno de los soldados le abrió el costado con una lanza, y luego salió sangre y agua.

But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

However, one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.

Ein Augenzeuge hat dies bezeugt, und sein Zeugnis ist zuverlässig, und jener weiß, daß er die Wahrheit sagt, damit auch ihr zum Glauben kommet.

Y el que lo vió, da testimonio, y su testimonio es verdadero: y él sabe que dice verdad, para que vosotros también creáis.

And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.

He who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, that you may believe.

Dies ist nämlich geschehen, damit das Schriftwort erfüllt würde: »Es soll kein Knochen an ihm zerbrochen werden.«

Porque estas cosas fueron hechas para que se cumpliese la Escritura: Hueso no quebrantaréis de él.

For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

For these things happened that the Scripture might be fulfilled, “A bone of him will not be broken.”

Und noch eine andere Schriftstelle lautet: »Sie werden auf den blicken, den sie durchbohrt haben.«

Y también otra Escritura dice: Mirarán al que traspasaron.

And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

Again another Scripture says, “They will look on him whom they pierced.”

Hierauf trug Joseph von Arimathäa, der ein Jünger Jesu war – allerdings war er’s nur im geheimen aus Furcht vor den Juden –, dem Pilatus die Bitte vor, daß er den Leichnam Jesu vom Kreuze abnehmen dürfe; und Pilatus gewährte ihm die Bitte. So ging er denn hin und nahm seinen Leichnam (vom Kreuz) ab.

Después de estas cosas, José de Arimatea, el cual era discípulo de Jesús, mas secreto por miedo de los Judíos, rogó á Pilato que pudiera quitar el cuerpo de Jesús: y permitióselo Pilato. Entonces vino, y quitó el cuerpo de Jesús.

And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.

After these things, Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked of Pilate that he might take away Jesus’ body. Pilate gave him permission. He came therefore and took away his body.

Aber auch Nikodemus kam, derselbe, der zum erstenmal bei Nacht zu Jesus gekommen war, und brachte eine Mischung von Myrrhe und Aloe mit, wohl hundert Pfund.

Y vino también Nicodemo, el que antes había venido á Jesús de noche, trayendo un compuesto de mirra y de áloes, como cien libras.

And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.

Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred Roman pounds.

So nahmen sie denn den Leib Jesu und banden ihn ein in Leinwandstreifen mitsamt den wohlriechenden Stoffen, wie es Sitte der Juden bei Bestattungen ist.

Tomaron pues el cuerpo de Jesús, y envolviéronlo en lienzos con especias, como es costumbre de los Judíos sepultar.

Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

So they took Jesus’ body, and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury.

Es lag aber bei dem Platze, wo er gekreuzigt worden war, ein Garten, und in dem Garten (befand sich) ein neues Grab, in welchem bisher noch niemand beigesetzt worden war.

Y en aquel lugar donde había sido crucificado, había un huerto; y en el huerto un sepulcro nuevo, en el cual aun no había sido puesto ninguno.

Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.

Dorthin brachten sie nun Jesus mit Rücksicht auf den jüdischen Rüsttag, weil das Grab sich in der Nähe befand.

Allí, pues, por causa de la víspera de la Pascua de los Judíos, porque aquel sepulcro estaba cerca, pusieron á Jesús.

There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews’ preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.

Then, because of the Jews’ Preparation Day (for the tomb was near at hand), they laid Jesus there.
