Dann also nahm {der} Pilatus {den} Jesus und ließ ihn geißeln (ließ ihn auspeitschen; geißelte ihn, peitschte ihn aus).

Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.

So Pilate then took Jesus and flogged him.

Und die Soldaten flochten eine Krone (einen Kranz) aus Dornen und setzten sie (ihn) auf sein Haupt (seinen Kopf), und sie legten (warfen) ihm einen purpurnen Mantel (ein purpurnes Gewandt) an (um),

Y los soldados entretejieron de espinas una corona, y pusiéronla sobre su cabeza, y le vistieron de una ropa de grana;

And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,

The soldiers twisted thorns into a crown and put it on his head, and dressed him in a purple garment.

und sie kamen zu ihm und sagten: Sei gegrüßt, {der} König der Juden. Und sie gaben ihm Ohrfeigen (Backenstreiche).

Y decían: ¡Salve, Rey de los Judíos! y dábanle de bofetadas.

And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.

They kept saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and they kept slapping him.

Und wieder (wiederum) ging (kam) {der} Pilatus heraus (hinaus) und sagt ihnen: Sieh (Seht) ich bringe Euch ihn heraus, damit Ihr erkennt (wißt), dass ich keine Schuld in ihm finde.

Entonces Pilato salió otra vez fuera, y díjoles: He aquí, os le traigo fuera, para que entendáis que ningún crimen hallo en él.

Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.

Then Pilate went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I bring him out to you, that you may know that I find no basis for a charge against him.”

†Es kam also {der} Jesus heraus, angetan mit der Dornenkrone (dem Dornenkranz) und dem purpurnen Mantel (Gewandt) (und trug die Dornenkrone und den purpurnen Mantel). Und er sagt ihnen: Sieh (Seht), der Mensch!

Y salió Jesús fuera, llevando la corona de espinas y la ropa de grana. Y díceles Pilato: He aquí el hombre.

Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!

Jesus therefore came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple garment. Pilate said to them, “Behold, the man!”

Als ihn also die Hohenpriester und die Diener sahen, schrien sie und sagten: Kreuzige, kreuzige! {Der} Pilatus sagt ihnen: Nehmt Ihr ihn und kreuzigt †ihn, ich nämlich finde in ihm keine Schuld.

Y como le vieron los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los servidores, dieron voces diciendo: Crucifícale, crucifícale. Díceles Pilato: Tomadle vosotros, y crucificadle; porque yo no hallo en él crimen.

When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.

When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him, they shouted, saying, “Crucify! Crucify!” Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves and crucify him, for I find no basis for a charge against him.”

†Es antworteten ihm die Juden: Wir haben ein Gesetz und nach dem Gesetz muß er sterben, weil er sich Sohn Gottes gemacht hat.

Respondiéronle los Judíos: Nosotros tenemos ley, y según nuestra ley debe morir, porque se hizo Hijo de Dios.

The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

Als also {der} Pilatus dieses Wort hörte, fürchtete er sich mehr

Y como Pilato oyó esta palabra, tuvo más miedo.

When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;

When therefore Pilate heard this saying, he was more afraid.

und ging wieder (wiederum) in das Prätorium hinein und sagt zu (dem) Jesus: Woher bist Du? {Der} Jesus aber gab ihm keine Antwort.

Y entró otra vez en el pretorio, y dijo á Jesús: ¿De dónde eres tú? Mas Jesús no le dió respuesta.

And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.

He entered into the Praetorium again, and said to Jesus, “Where are you from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.

†Es sagt ihm also {der} Pilatus: Mit mir sprichst Du nicht? Weißt Du nicht, dass ich Macht (Vollmacht) habe, Dich freizulassen, und Macht (Vollmacht), Dich zu kreuzigen?

Entonces dícele Pilato: ¿A mí no me hablas? ¿no sabes que tengo potestad para crucificarte, y que tengo potestad para soltarte?

Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?

Pilate therefore said to him, “Aren’t you speaking to me? Don’t you know that I have power to release you and have power to crucify you?”

†Es antwortete ihm Jesus: Du hättest keine Macht (Vollmacht) über mich, wenn es Dir nicht von oben gegeben worden wäre. Deshalb hat der, der mich Dir übergeben (überliefert) hat, größere Schuld (Sünde).

Respondió Jesús: Ninguna potestad tendrías contra mí, si no te fuese dado de arriba: por tanto, el que á ti me ha entregado, mayor pecado tiene.

Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.

Jesus answered, “You would have no power at all against me, unless it were given to you from above. Therefore he who delivered me to you has greater sin.”

Aus diesem †Grund (deshalb, von da an) versuchte (suchte) {der} Pilatus ihn freizulassen. Die Juden aber schrien und sagten: Wenn Du diesen freiläßt, bist Du kein Freund des Kaisers (Caesars). Jeder, der sich (zum) König macht, handelt gegen den (widersteht, widerspricht dem) Kaiser (Caesar).

Desde entonces procuraba Pilato soltarle; mas los Judíos daban voces, diciendo: Si á éste sueltas, no eres amigo de César: cualquiera que se hace rey, á César contradice.

And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Cæsar’s friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Cæsar.

At this, Pilate was seeking to release him, but the Jews cried out, saying, “If you release this man, you aren’t Caesar’s friend! Everyone who makes himself a king speaks against Caesar!”

Als Pilatus also diese Worte gehört hatte (hörte), führte er {den} Jesus heraus, und setzte sich (ihn) auf den Richtstuhl auf einem (an einen) Platz, der Lithostrotos genannt wird, auf Hebräisch aber Gabbata.

Entonces Pilato, oyendo este dicho, llevó fuera á Jesús, y se sentó en el tribunal en el lugar que se dice Lithóstrotos, y en hebreo Gabbatha.

When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.

When Pilate therefore heard these words, he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called “The Pavement”, but in Hebrew, “Gabbatha.”

Es war aber Rüsttag des Pascha, es war ungefähr die sechste Stunde. Und er spricht zu den Juden: Siehe, euer König!

Y era la víspera de la Pascua, y como la hora de sexta. Entonces dijo á los Judíos: He aquí vuestro Rey.

And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!

Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, at about the sixth hour. He said to the Jews, “Behold, your King!”

Jene schrien folglich (aber): Trag weg, trag weg! Kreuzige ihn! Pilatus spricht zu ihnen: Euren König soll ich kreuzigen? Die Hohenpriester antworteten: Wir haben keinen König außer †dem Kaiser.

Mas ellos dieron voces: Quita, quita, crucifícale. Díceles Pilato: ¿A vuestro Rey he de crucificar? Respondieron los pontífices: No tenemos rey sino á César.

But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Cæsar.

They cried out, “Away with him! Away with him! Crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar!”

Dann also übergab er ihn ihnen, damit er gekreuzigt würde. Sie übernahmen also {den} Jesus.

Así que entonces lo entregó á ellos para que fuese crucificado. Y tomaron á Jesús, y le llevaron.

Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.

So then he delivered him to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus and led him away.

Und das Kreuz selbst (allein) tragend ging er hinaus zu dem Ort, der Schädelstätte genannt wird – was auf Hebräisch Golgotha heißt,

Y llevando su cruz, salió al lugar que se dice de la Calavera, y en hebreo, Gólgotha;

And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:

He went out, bearing his cross, to the place called “The Place of a Skull”, which is called in Hebrew, “Golgotha”,

wo sie ihn kreuzigten, und mit ihm andere zwei auf der einen und der anderen Seite (von dort und von dort), inmitten (in der Mitte) aber {den} Jesus.

Donde le crucificaron, y con él otros dos, uno á cada lado, y Jesús en medio.

Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.

†Es schrieb (ließ aber) {der} Pilatus aber auch eine Aufschrift (schreiben) und befestigte (setzte) †sie an dem (auf das) Kreuz (befestigen; setzen). Es war aber geschrieben: Jesus der Nazoräer, der König der Juden.

Y escribió también Pilato un título, que puso encima de la cruz. Y el escrito era: JESUS NAZARENO, REY DE LOS JUDIOS.

And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Pilate wrote a title also, and put it on the cross. There was written, “JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

Diese Aufschrift also lasen viele der Juden, weil der Ort, wo Jesus gekreuzigt wurde, nahe der Stadt war. Und es war geschrieben in Hebräisch, Römisch, Griechisch.

Y muchos de los Judíos leyeron este título: porque el lugar donde estaba crucificado Jesús era cerca de la ciudad: y estaba escrito en hebreo, en griego, y en latín.

This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.

Therefore many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, and in Greek.

†Es sagten also die Hohenpriester der Juden zu {dem} Pilatus: Schreib nicht: Der König der Juden, sondern, dass jener behauptete (sagte), König der Juden zu sein (bin ich).

Y decían á Pilato los pontífices de los Judíos: No escribas, Rey de los Judíos: sino, que él dijo: Rey soy de los Judíos.

Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.

The chief priests of the Jews therefore said to Pilate, “Don’t write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but, ‘he said, “I am King of the Jews.”’”

Pilatus antwortete: Was ich geschrieben habe, habe ich geschrieben.

Respondió Pilato: Lo que he escrito, he escrito.

Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.

Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”

Die Soldaten also, als sie {den} Jesus gekreuzigt hatten, nahmen seine Kleider (Obergewänder) und machten vier Teile, einem jedem Soldaten einen Teil, und das Untergewand. Das Untergewand war aber ohne Naht von oben an als Ganzes (ganz durch) gewebt.

Y como los soldados hubieron crucificado á Jesús, tomaron sus vestidos, é hicieron cuatro partes (para cada soldado una parte); y la túnica; mas la túnica era sin costura, toda tejida desde arriba.

Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.

Sie sagten also zueinander: Laßt uns es nicht zerteilen, sondern durch Los über es bestimmen (über es losen), wem es gehören wird (wessen es sein wird). Damit die Schrift erfüllt werde, die sagt: Sie verteilten meine Kleider (Obergewänder) unter sich und über meine Kleidung warfen sie ein Los. Die Soldaten also taten das (machten diese Dinge).

Y dijeron entre ellos: No la partamos, sino echemos suertes sobre ella, de quién será; para que se cumpliese la Escritura, que dice: Partieron para sí mis vestidos, y sobre mi vestidura echaron suertes. Y los soldados hicieron esto.

They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.

Then they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it to decide whose it will be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which says, “They parted my garments among them. They cast lots for my clothing.” Therefore the soldiers did these things.

†Es standen aber bei dem Kreuz Jesu seine Mutter und die Schwester seiner Mutter, Maria, die des Klopas und Maria (die) Magdalena.

Y estaban junto á la cruz de Jesús su madre, y la hermana de su madre, María mujer de Cleofas, y María Magdalena.

Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.

But standing by Jesus’ cross were his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.

Als Jesus also die Mutter und dabeistehend den Jünger, den er liebte, sah, sagt er der Mutter: Frau, sieh Deinen Sohn.

Y como vió Jesús á la madre, y al discípulo que él amaba, que estaba presente, dice á su madre: Mujer, he ahí tu hijo.

When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!

Therefore when Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing there, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!”

Darauf sagt er dem Jünger: Sieh, Deine Mutter. Und von jener Stunde an nahm der Jünger sie zu sich (in sein Eigenes).

Después dice al discípulo: He ahí tu madre. Y desde aquella hora el discípulo la recibió consigo.

Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour, the disciple took her to his own home.

Danach, da Jesus wußte, daß schon alles vollendet war, sagt er, damit die Schrift erfüllt würde: Ich habe Durst (dürste).

Después de esto, sabiendo Jesús que todas las cosas eran ya cumplidas, para que la Escritura se cumpliese, dijo: Sed tengo.

After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

After this, Jesus, seeing that all things were now finished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I am thirsty!”

Ein Gefäß stand †da gefüllt mit Essig. Sie steckten also einen Schwamm gefüllt mit dem Essig auf einen Ysop und näherten †ihn seinem Mund.

Y estaba allí un vaso lleno de vinagre: entonces ellos hinchieron una esponja de vinagre, y rodeada á un hisopo, se la llegaron á la boca.

Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.

Now a vessel full of vinegar was set there; so they put a sponge full of the vinegar on hyssop, and held it at his mouth.

Als also Jesus den Essig genommen hatte, sagte er: Es ist vollendet, und, indem er das Haupt neigte, übergab er den Geist.

Y como Jesús tomó el vinagre, dijo: Consumado es. Y habiendo inclinado la cabeza, dió el espíritu.

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Die Juden also, da Rüsttag war, †und damit die Körper nicht auf dem Kreuz an dem Sabbat blieben – es war nämlich jener Tag des Sabbats bedeutend (groß) – baten den Pilatus, daß man (sie) ihre Beine zerschlage (zerschlagen) und †sie dann wegnehme (wegnehmen).

Entonces los Judíos, por cuanto era la víspera de la Pascua, para que los cuerpos no quedasen en la cruz en el sábado, pues era el gran día del sábado, rogaron á Pilato que se les quebrasen las piernas, y fuesen quitados.

The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

Therefore the Jews, because it was the Preparation Day, so that the bodies wouldn’t remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a special one), asked of Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away.

†Es kamen also die Soldaten und sie zerschlugen zwar die Beine des ersten und †die des anderen, der mit ihm gekreuzigt worden war;

Y vinieron los soldados, y quebraron las piernas al primero, y asimismo al otro que había sido crucificado con él.

Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.

Therefore the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with him;

als sie aber zu †dem Jesus kamen und sahen, daß er schon gestorben war, zerschlugen sie seine Beine nicht,

Mas cuando vinieron á Jesús, como le vieron ya muerto, no le quebraron las piernas:

But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:

but when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they didn’t break his legs.

aber einer der Soldaten stach (stieß) mit einer Lanze †in seine Seite und sogleich kam Blut und Wasser heraus.

Empero uno de los soldados le abrió el costado con una lanza, y luego salió sangre y agua.

But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

However, one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.

Und der †es gesehen hat, hat †es bezeugt, und sein Zeugnis ist wahr, und jener weiß, dass er Wahres (wahre Dinge) sagt, damit auch ihr glaubt.

Y el que lo vió, da testimonio, y su testimonio es verdadero: y él sabe que dice verdad, para que vosotros también creáis.

And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.

He who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, that you may believe.

Es geschah (geschahen) nämlich dies (diese Dinge), damit die Schrift erfüllt würde.

Porque estas cosas fueron hechas para que se cumpliese la Escritura: Hueso no quebrantaréis de él.

For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

For these things happened that the Scripture might be fulfilled, “A bone of him will not be broken.”

Und wieder (wiederum) sagt eine andere Schrift: Sie werden auf den sehen, den sie durchbohrten.

Y también otra Escritura dice: Mirarán al que traspasaron.

And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

Again another Scripture says, “They will look on him whom they pierced.”

Nach diesen Dingen aber (Danach aber) bat (fragte) Josef von Arimatäa, der ein Jünger Jesu (des Jesus) war, aber ein geheimer (versteckter) wegen der Furcht vor den (der) Juden, {den} Pilatus, den Körper (Leib) Jesu (des Jesus) zu holen (wegzunehmen). Und Pilatus überließ ihn (ließ es zu). Er kam also und holte (nahm) seinen Körper (Leib).

Después de estas cosas, José de Arimatea, el cual era discípulo de Jesús, mas secreto por miedo de los Judíos, rogó á Pilato que pudiera quitar el cuerpo de Jesús: y permitióselo Pilato. Entonces vino, y quitó el cuerpo de Jesús.

And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.

After these things, Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked of Pilate that he might take away Jesus’ body. Pilate gave him permission. He came therefore and took away his body.

†Es kam aber auch Nikodemus, der zuerst nachts zu ihm gekommen war, und brachte eine Mischung von Myrrhe und Aloe, ungefähr hundert Pfund.

Y vino también Nicodemo, el que antes había venido á Jesús de noche, trayendo un compuesto de mirra y de áloes, como cien libras.

And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.

Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred Roman pounds.

Sie nahmen also den Körper (Leib) Jesu (des Jesus) und wickelten (banden) ihn (zusammen) mit den wohlriechenden Gewürzen in (mit) Leinenbinden, wie es Brauch ist bei den Juden bei Bestattungen (um zu bestatten).

Tomaron pues el cuerpo de Jesús, y envolviéronlo en lienzos con especias, como es costumbre de los Judíos sepultar.

Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

So they took Jesus’ body, and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury.

Es gab (war) aber an dem Ort, wo er gekreuzigt worden war, einen (ein) Garten, und in dem Garten ein neues Grab, in dem noch niemand begraben worden war.

Y en aquel lugar donde había sido crucificado, había un huerto; y en el huerto un sepulcro nuevo, en el cual aun no había sido puesto ninguno.

Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.

Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden. In the garden was a new tomb in which no man had ever yet been laid.

Dort also – wegen des Vortags der Juden, weil das Grab nahe war – begruben sie †den Jesus.

Allí, pues, por causa de la víspera de la Pascua de los Judíos, porque aquel sepulcro estaba cerca, pusieron á Jesús.

There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews’ preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.

Then, because of the Jews’ Preparation Day (for the tomb was near at hand), they laid Jesus there.
