Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.

E eles fizeram uma coroa de espinhos, puseram na cabeça dele e vestiram Jesus com um manto real vermelho.

And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,
The soldiers twisted thorns into a crown and put it on his head, and dressed him in a purple garment.
“Salve, ‘rei dos judeus’!”, caçoavam eles, e davam socos no seu rosto.
Y decían: ¡Salve, Rey de los Judíos! y dábanle de bofetadas.
And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
They kept saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and they kept slapping him.
Pilatos saiu outra vez e disse aos judeus: “Agora eu vou trazer Jesus aqui fora para vocês, mas entendam que eu não acho nele motivo algum de acusação”.
Entonces Pilato salió otra vez fuera, y díjoles: He aquí, os le traigo fuera, para que entendáis que ningún crimen hallo en él.
Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.
Then Pilate went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I bring him out to you, that you may know that I find no basis for a charge against him.”
Então Jesus saiu com a coroa de espinhos e o manto de púrpura. Pilatos disse: “Aqui está o homem!”
Y salió Jesús fuera, llevando la corona de espinas y la ropa de grana. Y díceles Pilato: He aquí el hombre.
Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!

Ao ver Jesus, os sacerdotes principais e os guardas do templo começaram a gritar: “Crucifique! Crucifique!” “Vocês o crucifiquem”, disse Pilatos. “Não encontro nele base para acusá-lo”.
Y como le vieron los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los servidores, dieron voces diciendo: Crucifícale, crucifícale. Díceles Pilato: Tomadle vosotros, y crucificadle; porque yo no hallo en él crimen.
When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.
When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him, they shouted, saying, “Crucify! Crucify!” Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves and crucify him, for I find no basis for a charge against him.”
Mas os judeus insistiram: “Pelas nossas leis Jesus deve morrer, porque chamou-se a si mesmo de Filho de Deus”.
Respondiéronle los Judíos: Nosotros tenemos ley, y según nuestra ley debe morir, porque se hizo Hijo de Dios.
The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

Quando Pilatos ouviu isso, ficou ainda com mais medo.
Y como Pilato oyó esta palabra, tuvo más miedo.
When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;

Por isso levou Jesus novamente para o palácio e perguntou: “De onde você vem?” Mas Jesus não deu nenhuma resposta.
Y entró otra vez en el pretorio, y dijo á Jesús: ¿De dónde eres tú? Mas Jesús no le dió respuesta.
And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.
He entered into the Praetorium again, and said to Jesus, “Where are you from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.
“Você se nega a falar comigo?”, perguntou Pilatos. “Não compreende que eu tenho autoridade para soltá-lo ou para crucificá-lo?”
Entonces dícele Pilato: ¿A mí no me hablas? ¿no sabes que tengo potestad para crucificarte, y que tengo potestad para soltarte?
Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?
Pilate therefore said to him, “Aren’t you speaking to me? Don’t you know that I have power to release you and have power to crucify you?”
Então Jesus disse: “O senhor não teria nenhuma autoridade sobre mim se esta não lhe fosse dada de cima. Portanto, aquele que me trouxe ao senhor tem um pecado maior”.
Respondió Jesús: Ninguna potestad tendrías contra mí, si no te fuese dado de arriba: por tanto, el que á ti me ha entregado, mayor pecado tiene.
Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.
Jesus answered, “You would have no power at all against me, unless it were given to you from above. Therefore he who delivered me to you has greater sin.”
Com isso, Pilatos tentava libertar Jesus, mas os líderes judaicos diziam: “Se o senhor soltar este homem, não é amigo de César. Todo aquele que se declara rei está em revolta contra César”.
Desde entonces procuraba Pilato soltarle; mas los Judíos daban voces, diciendo: Si á éste sueltas, no eres amigo de César: cualquiera que se hace rey, á César contradice.
And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Cæsar’s friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Cæsar.
At this, Pilate was seeking to release him, but the Jews cried out, saying, “If you release this man, you aren’t Caesar’s friend! Everyone who makes himself a king speaks against Caesar!”
Ao ouvir estas palavras, Pilatos novamente trouxe Jesus para fora, e sentou-se no tribunal, num lugar conhecido como “Calçada de Pedras”.
Entonces Pilato, oyendo este dicho, llevó fuera á Jesús, y se sentó en el tribunal en el lugar que se dice Lithóstrotos, y en hebreo Gabbatha.
When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.
When Pilate therefore heard these words, he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called “The Pavement”, but in Hebrew, “Gabbatha.”
A essa hora já era cerca de meio-dia, do Dia da Preparação, véspera da Páscoa. E Pilatos disse aos judeus: “Aqui está o rei de vocês!”
Y era la víspera de la Pascua, y como la hora de sexta. Entonces dijo á los Judíos: He aquí vuestro Rey.
And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!
Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, at about the sixth hour. He said to the Jews, “Behold, your King!”
“Fora com ele!”, gritaram. “Fora com ele — crucifique Jesus!” “Quê? Devo crucificar o rei de vocês?”, perguntou Pilatos. “Nós não temos outro rei, além de César”, gritaram os sacerdotes principais.
Mas ellos dieron voces: Quita, quita, crucifícale. Díceles Pilato: ¿A vuestro Rey he de crucificar? Respondieron los pontífices: No tenemos rey sino á César.
But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Cæsar.
They cried out, “Away with him! Away with him! Crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar!”
Então Pilatos entregou-lhes Jesus para ser crucificado. E os soldados colocaram as mãos nele;
Así que entonces lo entregó á ellos para que fuese crucificado. Y tomaron á Jesús, y le llevaron.
Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.
So then he delivered him to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus and led him away.
Jesus foi levado para fora da cidade, carregando a sua cruz, ao lugar conhecido como “A Caveira” (que em aramaico é chamado de “Gólgota”).

And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:

Ali eles crucificaram Jesus e outros dois com ele, um de cada lado, e Jesus no meio.
Donde le crucificaron, y con él otros dos, uno á cada lado, y Jesús en medio.

Pilatos pregou por cima dele uma tabuleta que dizia: “JESUS DE NAZARÉ, REI DOS JUDEUS”.
Y escribió también Pilato un título, que puso encima de la cruz. Y el escrito era: JESUS NAZARENO, REY DE LOS JUDIOS.
And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.

O lugar onde Jesus foi crucificado ficava perto da cidade; e a tabuleta estava escrita em hebraico, latim e grego, de modo que muitas pessoas puderam ler a inscrição.
Y muchos de los Judíos leyeron este título: porque el lugar donde estaba crucificado Jesús era cerca de la ciudad: y estaba escrito en hebreo, en griego, y en latín.
This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.
Therefore many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, and in Greek.
Então os sacerdotes principais disseram a Pilatos: “Mude isso de ‘Rei dos Judeus’ para ‘Ele disse: Eu sou o rei dos judeus’.”
Y decían á Pilato los pontífices de los Judíos: No escribas, Rey de los Judíos: sino, que él dijo: Rey soy de los Judíos.
Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.
The chief priests of the Jews therefore said to Pilate, “Don’t write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but, ‘he said, “I am King of the Jews.”’”
Pilatos respondeu: “O que escrevi, escrevi”.
Respondió Pilato: Lo que he escrito, he escrito.
Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.
Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”
Quando os soldados acabaram de crucificar a Jesus, dividiram suas roupas em quatro partes, uma para cada um deles. E disseram: “Não vamos rasgar a túnica dele”, porque era sem costura, tecida numa única peça, de alto a baixo.
Y como los soldados hubieron crucificado á Jesús, tomaron sus vestidos, é hicieron cuatro partes (para cada soldado una parte); y la túnica; mas la túnica era sin costura, toda tejida desde arriba.
Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.

“Não vamos rasgar a túnica. Vamos jogar os dados para ver quem ganha o manto”. Isso cumpriu a Escritura que diz: “Eles dividiram entre si as minhas roupas, e tiraram sortes sobre a minha túnica”. E foi isso que os soldados fizeram.
Y dijeron entre ellos: No la partamos, sino echemos suertes sobre ella, de quién será; para que se cumpliese la Escritura, que dice: Partieron para sí mis vestidos, y sobre mi vestidura echaron suertes. Y los soldados hicieron esto.
They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.
Then they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it to decide whose it will be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which says, “They parted my garments among them. They cast lots for my clothing.” Therefore the soldiers did these things.
Perto da cruz de Jesus encontravam-se Maria, mãe de Jesus, Maria, a esposa de Clopas, e Maria Madalena.
Y estaban junto á la cruz de Jesús su madre, y la hermana de su madre, María mujer de Cleofas, y María Magdalena.
Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
But standing by Jesus’ cross were his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.
Quando Jesus viu que a mãe dele se achava ali junto ao discípulo que Jesus amava, disse a ela: “Aí está o seu filho”,
Y como vió Jesús á la madre, y al discípulo que él amaba, que estaba presente, dice á su madre: Mujer, he ahí tu hijo.
When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!
Therefore when Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing there, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!”
e ao discípulo ele disse: “Aí está a sua mãe!” Daí em diante, o discípulo a recebeu em sua casa.
Después dice al discípulo: He ahí tu madre. Y desde aquella hora el discípulo la recibió consigo.
Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour, the disciple took her to his own home.
Jesus sabia que tudo já estava terminado, e para cumprir as Escrituras, disse: “Eu estou com sede”.
Después de esto, sabiendo Jesús que todas las cosas eran ya cumplidas, para que la Escritura se cumpliese, dijo: Sed tengo.
After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

Havia ali uma jarra de vinho azedo, de modo que ensoparam uma esponja nele, puseram num caniço e suspenderam até os lábios de Jesus.
Y estaba allí un vaso lleno de vinagre: entonces ellos hinchieron una esponja de vinagre, y rodeada á un hisopo, se la llegaron á la boca.
Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
Now a vessel full of vinegar was set there; so they put a sponge full of the vinegar on hyssop, and held it at his mouth.
Tendo Jesus provado, disse: “Está tudo consumado”; aí inclinou a cabeça e entregou o espírito.
Y como Jesús tomó el vinagre, dijo: Consumado es. Y habiendo inclinado la cabeza, dió el espíritu.
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Era o Dia da Preparação, e o dia seguinte seria o sábado sagrado. Os líderes judaicos não queriam que os corpos permanecessem pendurados ali no dia seguinte, por isso pediram a Pilatos que mandasse quebrar as pernas dos crucificados, a fim de apressar sua morte; assim os seus corpos poderiam ser tirados das cruzes.
Entonces los Judíos, por cuanto era la víspera de la Pascua, para que los cuerpos no quedasen en la cruz en el sábado, pues era el gran día del sábado, rogaron á Pilato que se les quebrasen las piernas, y fuesen quitados.
The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
Therefore the Jews, because it was the Preparation Day, so that the bodies wouldn’t remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a special one), asked of Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away.
Então os soldados vieram e quebraram as pernas dos dois homens crucificados com Jesus;
Y vinieron los soldados, y quebraron las piernas al primero, y asimismo al otro que había sido crucificado con él.
Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.
Therefore the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with him;
mas quando chegaram a Jesus, viram que já estava morto, e por isso não quebraram as suas pernas.
Mas cuando vinieron á Jesús, como le vieron ya muerto, no le quebraron las piernas:
But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:
but when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they didn’t break his legs.
Contudo, um dos soldados furou seu lado com uma lança, e daí correu sangue com água.
Empero uno de los soldados le abrió el costado con una lanza, y luego salió sangre y agua.
But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
However, one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.
Aquele que viu isso com os seus próprios olhos deu testemunho, e o seu testemunho é verdadeiro. Ele sabe que esta narração é fiel e dela testemunha para que vocês também possam crer.
Y el que lo vió, da testimonio, y su testimonio es verdadero: y él sabe que dice verdad, para que vosotros también creáis.
And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
He who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, that you may believe.
Os soldados fizeram isso em cumprimento da Escritura que diz: “Nenhum dos seus ossos será quebrado”,
Porque estas cosas fueron hechas para que se cumpliese la Escritura: Hueso no quebrantaréis de él.
For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
For these things happened that the Scripture might be fulfilled, “A bone of him will not be broken.”
e como diz nas Escrituras em outro lugar: “Eles olharão para aquele a quem atravessaram com a lança”.
Y también otra Escritura dice: Mirarán al que traspasaron.
And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.
Again another Scripture says, “They will look on him whom they pierced.”
Depois disso José de Arimateia, que tinha sido um discípulo oculto de Jesus, porque tinha medo dos líderes judaicos, corajosamente pediu a Pilatos autorização para retirar o corpo de Jesus; e Pilatos o permitiu. Então ele veio e levou o corpo embora.
Después de estas cosas, José de Arimatea, el cual era discípulo de Jesús, mas secreto por miedo de los Judíos, rogó á Pilato que pudiera quitar el cuerpo de Jesús: y permitióselo Pilato. Entonces vino, y quitó el cuerpo de Jesús.
And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.
After these things, Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked of Pilate that he might take away Jesus’ body. Pilate gave him permission. He came therefore and took away his body.
Nicodemos, o homem que tinha ido de noite a Jesus, veio também, trazendo cerca de trinta e quatro quilos de perfume, próprio para embalsamar, feito com mirra e aloés.
Y vino también Nicodemo, el que antes había venido á Jesús de noche, trayendo un compuesto de mirra y de áloes, como cien libras.
And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.

E os dois juntos enrolaram o corpo de Jesus em um pano de linho comprido cheio desses perfumes, como é o costume judaico para o sepultamento.
Tomaron pues el cuerpo de Jesús, y envolviéronlo en lienzos con especias, como es costumbre de los Judíos sepultar.
Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

O lugar da crucificação estava próximo a um jardim, onde existia um sepulcro novo, que nunca tinha sido usado.
Y en aquel lugar donde había sido crucificado, había un huerto; y en el huerto un sepulcro nuevo, en el cual aun no había sido puesto ninguno.

Assim, por ser o Dia da Preparação dos judeus, e visto que o sepulcro ficava perto, eles puseram Jesus ali.

There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews’ preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.
