No princípio era a Palavra, e a Palavra estava junto de Deus, e a Palavra era Deus.

EN el principio era el Verbo, y el Verbo era con Dios, y el Verbo era Dios.

Por esta foram feitas todas as coisas, e sem ela não se fez coisa nenhuma do que foi feito.

Nela estava a vida, e a vida era a luz dos seres humanos.

E a luz brilha nas trevas; e as trevas não a compreenderam.

Y la luz en las tinieblas resplandece; mas las tinieblas no la comprendieron.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it.

Houve um homem enviado por Deus, cujo nome era João.

Fué un hombre enviado de Dios, el cual se llamaba Juan.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

Este veio por testemunho, para que testemunhasse da Luz, para que todos por ele cressem.

Este vino por testimonio, para que diese testimonio de la luz, para que todos creyesen por él.

The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

Ele não era a Luz; mas foi enviado para que testemunhasse da Luz.

No era él la luz, sino para que diese testimonio de la luz.

He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

Esta era a luz verdadeira, que ilumina a todo ser humano que vem ao mundo.

Aquél era la luz verdadera, que alumbra á todo hombre que viene á este mundo.

That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.

No mundo estava, e por ele foi feito o mundo; e o mundo não o conheceu.

He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

Ao seu próprio veio, e os seus não o receberam.

He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

He came to his own, and those who were his own didn’t receive him.

Mas a todos quantos o receberam, deu-lhes poder de serem feitos filhos de Deus: aos que creem em seu nome.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Os quais não são gerados de sangue, nem de vontade da carne, nem de vontade de homem, mas sim de Deus.

Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

E aquela Palavra se fez carne, e habitou entre nós; (e vimos sua glória, como glória do unigênito do Pai) cheio de graça e de verdade.

Y aquel Verbo fué hecho carne, y habitó entre nosotros (y vimos su gloria, gloria como del unigénito del Padre), lleno de gracia y de verdad.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The Word became flesh and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the only born Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.

E João dele testemunhou, e clamou, dizendo: Este era aquele, de quem eu dizia: O que vem após mim é antes de mim; porque era primeiro que eu.

Juan dió testimonio de él, y clamó diciendo: Este es del que yo decía: El que viene tras mí, es antes de mí: porque es primero que yo.

John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

John testified about him. He cried out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me, for he was before me.’”

E de sua plenitude recebemos todos também graça por graça.

Porque de su plenitud tomamos todos, y gracia por gracia.

And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

From his fullness we all received grace upon grace.

Porque a Lei foi dada por Moisés; a graça e a verdade foi feita por Jesus Cristo.

Porque la ley por Moisés fué dada: mas la gracia y la verdad por Jesucristo fué hecha.

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

A Deus nunca ninguém o viu; o unigênito Deus , que está no seio do Pai, ele o declarou.

A Dios nadie le vió jamás: el unigénito Hijo, que está en el seno del Padre, él le declaró.

No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

No one has seen God at any time. The only born Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, has declared him.

E este é o testemunho de João, quando os judeus mandaram alguns sacerdotes e levitas de Jerusalém, que lhe perguntassem: Tu quem és?

Y éste es el testimonio de Juan, cuando los Judíos enviaron de Jerusalem sacerdotes y Levitas, que le preguntasen: ¿Tú, quién eres?

And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?

This is John’s testimony, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”

E confessou, e não negou; e confessou: Eu não sou o Cristo.

Y confesó, y no negó; mas declaró: No soy yo el Cristo.

And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.

He declared, and didn’t deny, but he declared, “I am not the Christ.”

E lhe perguntaram: Que, então? És tu Elias? E ele disse: Não sou. Eles disseram : Tu és o Profeta? E ele respondeu: Não.

Y le preguntaron: ¿Qué pues? ¿Eres tú Elías? Dijo: No soy. ¿Eres tú el profeta? Y respondió: No.

And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.

They asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the prophet?” He answered, “No.”

Disseram-lhe pois: Quem és? Para darmos resposta aos que nos enviaram. Que dizes de ti mesmo?

Dijéronle: ¿Pues quién eres? para que demos respuesta á los que nos enviaron. ¿Qué dices de ti mismo?

Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

They said therefore to him, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”

Disse: Eu sou a voz do que clama no deserto: Endireitai o caminho do Senhor, como disse o profeta Isaías.

Dijo: Yo soy la voz del que clama en el desierto: Enderezad el camino del Señor, como dijo Isaías profeta.

He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

He said, “I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as Isaiah the prophet said.”

E os enviados eram dos fariseus.

Y los que habían sido enviados eran de los Fariseos.

And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.

The ones who had been sent were from the Pharisees.

E perguntaram-lhe, e disseram-lhe: Por que pois batizas, se tu não és o Cristo, nem Elias, nem o profeta?

Y preguntáronle, y dijéronle: ¿Por qué pues bautizas, si tú no eres el Cristo, ni Elías, ni el profeta?

And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

They asked him, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?”

João lhes respondeu, dizendo: Eu batizo com água; mas em meio de vós, está a quem vós não conheceis,

Y Juan les respondió, diciendo: Yo bautizo con agua; mas en medio de vosotros ha estado á quien vosotros no conocéis.

John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

John answered them, “I baptize in water, but among you stands one whom you don’t know.

Este é aquele que vem após mim, do qual eu não sou digno de desatar a tira de sua sandália.

Este es el que ha de venir tras mí, el cual es antes de mí: del cual yo no soy digno de desatar la correa del zapato.

He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

He is the one who comes after me, who is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I’m not worthy to loosen.”

Estas coisas aconteceram em Betábara, do outro lado do Jordão, onde João estava batizando.

Estas cosas acontecieron en Betábara, de la otra parte del Jordán, donde Juan bautizaba.

These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

O dia seguinte viu João a Jesus vir a ele, e disse: Eis o Cordeiro de Deus, que tira o pecado do mundo.

El siguiente día ve Juan á Jesús que venía á él, y dice: He aquí el Cordero de Dios, que quita el pecado del mundo.

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

The next day, he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

Este é aquele do qual eu disse: Após mim vem um homem que já foi antes de mim; porque já era primeiro que eu.

Este es del que dije: Tras mí viene un varón, el cual es antes de mí: porque era primero que yo.

This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.

This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who is preferred before me, for he was before me.’

E eu não o conhecia; mas para que fosse manifesto a Israel, por isso vim eu batizando com água.

Y yo no le conocía; más para que fuese manifestado á Israel, por eso vine yo bautizando con agua.

And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

I didn’t know him, but for this reason I came baptizing in water, that he would be revealed to Israel.”

E João testemunhou, dizendo: Eu vi o Espírito como pomba descer do céu, e repousou sobre ele.

Y Juan dió testimonio, diciendo: Vi al Espíritu que descendía del cielo como paloma, y reposó sobre él.

And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

John testified, saying, “I have seen the Spirit descending like a dove out of heaven, and it remained on him.

E eu não o conhecia, mas aquele que me mandou a batizar com água, esse me disse: Sobre aquele que vires descer ao Espírito, e repousar sobre ele, esse é o que batiza com Espírito Santo.

Y yo no le conocía; mas el que me envió á bautizar con agua, aquél me dijo: Sobre quien vieres descender el Espíritu, y que reposa sobre él, éste es el que bautiza con Espíritu Santo.

And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

I didn’t recognize him, but he who sent me to baptize in water said to me, ‘On whomever you will see the Spirit descending and remaining on him is he who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’

E eu o vi, e testemunhado tenho, que este é o Filho de Deus.

Y yo le vi, y he dado testimonio que éste es el Hijo de Dios.

And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

I have seen and have testified that this is the Son of God.”

O seguinte dia estava outra vez ali João, e dois de seus discípulos.

El siguiente día otra vez estaba Juan, y dos de sus discípulos.

Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;

E vendo por ali andar a Jesus, disse: Eis o Cordeiro de Deus.

Y mirando á Jesús que andaba por allí, dijo: He aquí el Cordero de Dios.

And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

and he looked at Jesus as he walked, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God!”

E os dois discípulos ouviram-lhe dizer aquilo , e seguiram a Jesus.

Y oyéronle los dos discípulos hablar, y siguieron á Jesús.

And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

E Jesus, virando-se, e vendo-os seguir, disse-lhes: Que buscais? E eles lhe disseram: Rabi, (que traduzido, quer dizer, Mestre) onde moras?

Y volviéndose Jesús, y viéndolos seguirle, díceles: ¿Qué buscáis? Y ellos le dijeron: Rabbí (que declarado quiere decir Maestro) ¿dónde moras?

Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?

Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, “What are you looking for?” They said to him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, being interpreted, Teacher), “where are you staying?”

Disse-lhes ele: Vinde, e vede-o; Vieram, e viram onde morava, e na companhia dele naquele dia; e já era quase a hora décima.

Díceles: Venid y ved. Vinieron, y vieron donde moraba, y quedáronse con él aquel día: porque era como la hora de las diez.

He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.

He said to them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. It was about the tenth hour.

Era André, o irmão de Simão Pedro, um dos dois que ouvira aquilo de João, e o haviam seguido.

Era Andrés, hermano de Simón Pedro, uno de los dos que habían oído de Juan, y le habían seguido.

One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.

Este achou primeiro a seu irmão Simão, e disse-lhe: Já achamos ao Messias(que traduzido, é o Cristo).

Este halló primero á su hermano Simón, y díjole: Hemos hallado al Mesías (que declarado es, el Cristo).

He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

He first found his own brother, Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah!” (which is, being interpreted, Christ).

E levou-o a Jesus. E Jesus, olhando para ele, disse: Tu és Simão, filho de Jonas; tu serás chamado Cefas. (que se traduz Pedro).

Y le trajo á Jesús. Y mirándole Jesús, dijo: Tú eres Simón, hijo de Jonás: tú serás llamado Cephas (que quiere decir, Piedra).

And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is by interpretation, Peter).

O dia seguinte Jesus quis ir à Galileia, achou Filipe, e disse-lhe: Segue-me.

El siguiente día quiso Jesús ir á Galilea, y halla á Felipe, al cual dijo: Sígueme.

The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.

On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galilee, and he found Philip. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”

E Filipe era de Betsaida, da cidade de André e de Pedro.

Y era Felipe de Bethsaida, la ciudad de Andrés y de Pedro.

Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

Filipe achou Natanael, e disse-lhe: Achamos aquele de quem Moisés escreveu na Lei, e os Profetas: a Jesus, o filho de José, de Nazaré.

Felipe halló á Natanael, y dícele: Hemos hallado á aquel de quien escribió Moisés en la ley, y los profetas: á Jesús, el hijo de José, de Nazaret.

Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, “We have found him of whom Moses in the law and also the prophets, wrote: Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

E disse-lhe Natanael: Pode haver alguma coisa boa de Nazaré? Filipe lhe disse: Vem, e vê.

Y díjole Natanael: ¿De Nazaret puede haber algo de bueno? Dícele Felipe: Ven y ve.

And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

Nathanael said to him, “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

Jesus viu Natanael vir, e disse dele: Eis verdadeiramente um israelita, em quem não há engano!

Jesús vió venir á sí á Natanael, y dijo de él: He aquí un verdadero Israelita, en el cual no hay engaño.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and said about him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!”

Natanael lhe disse: De onde tu me conheces? Respondeu Jesus, e disse-lhe: Antes que Filipe te chamasse, estando tu debaixo da figueira, eu te vi.

Dícele Natanael: ¿De dónde me conoces? Respondió Jesús, y díjole: Antes que Felipe te llamara, cuando estabas debajo de la higuera te vi.

Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.

Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”

Natanael respondeu, e disse-lhe: Rabi, tu és o Filho de Deus, tu és o Rei de Israel!

Respondió Natanael, y díjole: Rabbí, tú eres el Hijo de Dios; tú eres el Rey de Israel.

Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are King of Israel!”

Jesus respondeu, e disse-lhe: Porque te disse: Debaixo da figueira te vi, crês? Tu verás coisas maiores que estas.

Respondió Jesús y díjole: ¿Porque te dije, te vi debajo de la higuera, crees? cosas mayores que éstas verás.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.

Jesus answered him, “Because I told you, ‘I saw you underneath the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these!”

E disse-lhe: Em verdade, em verdade vos digo, que daqui em diante vereis o céu aberto, e aos anjos de Deus subir e descer sobre o Filho do homem.

Y dícele: De cierto, de cierto os digo: De aquí adelante veréis el cielo abierto, y los ángeles de Dios que suben y descienden sobre el Hijo del hombre.

And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

He said to him, “Most certainly, I tell you all, hereafter you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
