NEL principio la Parola era, e la Parola era appo Dio, e la Parola era Dio.

EN el principio era el Verbo, y el Verbo era con Dios, y el Verbo era Dios.

In lei era la vita, e la vita era la luce degli uomini.

E la luce riluce nelle tenebre, e le tenebre non l'hanno compresa.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Vi fu un uomo mandato da Dio, il cui nome era Giovanni.

Costui venne per testimonianza, affin di testimoniar della Luce, acciocchè tutti credessero per mezzo di lui.

The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

Egli non era la Luce, anzi era mandato per testimoniar della Luce.

Colui, che è la Luce vera, la quale illumina ogni uomo che viene nel mondo, era.

Aquél era la luz verdadera, que alumbra á todo hombre que viene á este mundo.

That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.

Era nel mondo, e il mondo è stato fatto per mezzo d'esso; ma il mondo non l'ha conosciuto.

En el mundo estaba, y el mundo fué hecho por él; y el mundo no le conoció.

He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world didn’t recognize him.

Egli è venuto in casa sua, ed i suoi non l'hanno ricevuto.

A lo suyo vino, y los suyos no le recibieron.

He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

He came to his own, and those who were his own didn’t receive him.

Ma, a tutti coloro che l'hanno ricevuto, i quali credono nel suo nome, egli ha data questa ragione, d'esser fatti figliuoli di Dio;

Mas á todos los que le recibieron, dióles potestad de ser hechos hijos de Dios, á los que creen en su nombre:

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

i quali, non di sangue, nè di volontà di carne, nè di volontà d'uomo, ma son nati di Dio.

E la Parola è stata fatta carne, ed è abitata fra noi (e noi abbiam contemplata la sua gloria, gloria, come dell'unigenito proceduto dal Padre), piena di grazia, e di verità.

Y aquel Verbo fué hecho carne, y habitó entre nosotros (y vimos su gloria, gloria como del unigénito del Padre), lleno de gracia y de verdad.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The Word became flesh and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the only born Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.

GIOVANNI testimoniò di lui, e gridò, dicendo: Costui è quel di cui io diceva: Colui che viene dietro a me mi è antiposto, perciocchè egli era prima di me.

Juan dió testimonio de él, y clamó diciendo: Este es del que yo decía: El que viene tras mí, es antes de mí: porque es primero que yo.

John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

John testified about him. He cried out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me, for he was before me.’”

E noi tutti abbiamo ricevuto della sua pienezza, e grazia per grazia.

Porque de su plenitud tomamos todos, y gracia por gracia.

And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

From his fullness we all received grace upon grace.

Perciocchè la legge è stata data per mezzo di Mosè, ma la grazia, e la verità sono venute per mezzo di Gesù Cristo.

Porque la ley por Moisés fué dada: mas la gracia y la verdad por Jesucristo fué hecha.

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

For the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.

Niuno vide giammai Iddio; l'unigenito Figliuolo, ch'è nel seno del Padre, è quel che l'ha dichiarato.

A Dios nadie le vió jamás: el unigénito Hijo, que está en el seno del Padre, él le declaró.

No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

No one has seen God at any time. The only born Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, has declared him.

E questa è la testimonianza di Giovanni, quando i Giudei da Gerusalemme mandarono de' sacerdoti, e de' Leviti, per domandargli: Tu chi sei?

Y éste es el testimonio de Juan, cuando los Judíos enviaron de Jerusalem sacerdotes y Levitas, que le preguntasen: ¿Tú, quién eres?

And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?

This is John’s testimony, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”

Ed egli riconobbe chi egli era, e nol negò; anzi lo riconobbe, dicendo: Io non sono il Cristo.

Y confesó, y no negó; mas declaró: No soy yo el Cristo.

And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.

He declared, and didn’t deny, but he declared, “I am not the Christ.”

Ed essi gli domandarono: Che sei dunque? Sei tu Elia? Ed egli disse: Io nol sono. Sei tu il Profeta? Ed egli rispose: No.

Y le preguntaron: ¿Qué pues? ¿Eres tú Elías? Dijo: No soy. ¿Eres tú el profeta? Y respondió: No.

And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.

They asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the prophet?” He answered, “No.”

Essi adunque gli dissero Chi sei? acciocchè rendiamo risposta a coloro che ci hanno mandati; che dici tu di te stesso?

Dijéronle: ¿Pues quién eres? para que demos respuesta á los que nos enviaron. ¿Qué dices de ti mismo?

Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

They said therefore to him, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”

Egli disse: Io son la voce di colui che grida nel deserto: Addirizzate la via del Signore, siccome il profeta Isaia ha detto.

Dijo: Yo soy la voz del que clama en el desierto: Enderezad el camino del Señor, como dijo Isaías profeta.

He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

He said, “I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as Isaiah the prophet said.”

Or coloro ch'erano stati mandati erano d'infra i Farisei.

Y los que habían sido enviados eran de los Fariseos.

And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.

The ones who had been sent were from the Pharisees.

Ed essi gli domandarono, e gli dissero: Perchè dunque battezzi, se tu non sei il Cristo, nè Elia, nè il profeta?

Y preguntáronle, y dijéronle: ¿Por qué pues bautizas, si tú no eres el Cristo, ni Elías, ni el profeta?

And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

They asked him, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?”

Giovanni rispose loro, dicendo: Io battezzo con acqua; ma nel mezzo di voi è presente uno, il qual voi non conoscete.

Y Juan les respondió, diciendo: Yo bautizo con agua; mas en medio de vosotros ha estado á quien vosotros no conocéis.

John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

John answered them, “I baptize in water, but among you stands one whom you don’t know.

Esso è colui che vien dietro a me, il qual mi è stato antiposto, di cui io non son degno di sciogliere il correggiuol della scarpa.

Este es el que ha de venir tras mí, el cual es antes de mí: del cual yo no soy digno de desatar la correa del zapato.

He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

He is the one who comes after me, who is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I’m not worthy to loosen.”

Queste cose avvennero in Betabara, di là dal Giordano, ove Giovanni battezzava.

Estas cosas acontecieron en Betábara, de la otra parte del Jordán, donde Juan bautizaba.

These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

Il giorno seguente, Giovanni vide Gesù che veniva a lui, e disse: Ecco l'Agnello di Dio, che toglie il peccato del mondo.

El siguiente día ve Juan á Jesús que venía á él, y dice: He aquí el Cordero de Dios, que quita el pecado del mundo.

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

The next day, he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

Costui è quel del quale io diceva: Dietro a me viene un uomo, il qual mi è antiposto; perciocchè egli era prima di me.

Este es del que dije: Tras mí viene un varón, el cual es antes de mí: porque era primero que yo.

This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.

This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who is preferred before me, for he was before me.’

E quant'è a me, io nol conosceva; ma, acciocchè egli sia manifestato ad Israele, per ciò son venuto, battezzando con acqua.

Y yo no le conocía; más para que fuese manifestado á Israel, por eso vine yo bautizando con agua.

And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

I didn’t know him, but for this reason I came baptizing in water, that he would be revealed to Israel.”

E Giovanni testimoniò, dicendo: Io ho veduto lo Spirito, ch'è sceso dal cielo in somiglianza di colomba, e si è fermato sopra lui.

Y Juan dió testimonio, diciendo: Vi al Espíritu que descendía del cielo como paloma, y reposó sobre él.

And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

John testified, saying, “I have seen the Spirit descending like a dove out of heaven, and it remained on him.

E quant'è a me, io nol conosceva; ma colui che mi ha mandato a battezzar con acqua mi avea detto: Colui sopra il quale tu vedrai scender lo Spirito, e fermarsi, è quel che battezza con lo Spirito Santo.

Y yo no le conocía; mas el que me envió á bautizar con agua, aquél me dijo: Sobre quien vieres descender el Espíritu, y que reposa sobre él, éste es el que bautiza con Espíritu Santo.

And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

I didn’t recognize him, but he who sent me to baptize in water said to me, ‘On whomever you will see the Spirit descending and remaining on him is he who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’

Ed io l'ho veduto, e testifico che costui è il Figliuol di Dio.

Y yo le vi, y he dado testimonio que éste es el Hijo de Dios.

And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

I have seen and have testified that this is the Son of God.”

IL giorno seguente, Giovanni di nuovo si fermò, con due de' suoi discepoli.

El siguiente día otra vez estaba Juan, y dos de sus discípulos.

Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;

Ed avendo riguardato in faccia Gesù che camminava, disse: Ecco l'Agnello di Dio.

Y mirando á Jesús que andaba por allí, dijo: He aquí el Cordero de Dios.

And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

and he looked at Jesus as he walked, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God!”

E i due discepoli l'udirono parlare, e seguitarono Gesù.

Y oyéronle los dos discípulos hablar, y siguieron á Jesús.

And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

E Gesù, rivoltosi, e veggendo che lo seguitavano, disse loro: Che cercate? Ed essi gli dissero: Rabbi (il che, interpretato, vuol dire: Maestro), dove dimori?

Y volviéndose Jesús, y viéndolos seguirle, díceles: ¿Qué buscáis? Y ellos le dijeron: Rabbí (que declarado quiere decir Maestro) ¿dónde moras?

Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?

Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, “What are you looking for?” They said to him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, being interpreted, Teacher), “where are you staying?”

Egli disse loro: Venite, e vedetelo. Essi adunque andarono, e videro ove egli dimorava, e stettero presso di lui quel giorno. Or era intorno le dieci ore.

Díceles: Venid y ved. Vinieron, y vieron donde moraba, y quedáronse con él aquel día: porque era como la hora de las diez.

He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.

He said to them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. It was about the tenth hour.

Andrea, fratello di Simon Pietro, era uno de' due, che aveano udito quel ragionamento da Giovanni, ed avean seguitato Gesù.

Era Andrés, hermano de Simón Pedro, uno de los dos que habían oído de Juan, y le habían seguido.

One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.

Costui trovò il primo il suo fratello Simone, e gli disse: Noi abbiam trovato il Messia; il che, interpretato, vuol dire: Il Cristo; e lo menò da Gesù.

Este halló primero á su hermano Simón, y díjole: Hemos hallado al Mesías (que declarado es, el Cristo).

He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

He first found his own brother, Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah!” (which is, being interpreted, Christ).

E Gesù, riguardatolo in faccia, disse: Tu sei Simone, figliuol di Giona; tu sarai chiamato Cefa, che vuol dire: Pietra.

Y le trajo á Jesús. Y mirándole Jesús, dijo: Tú eres Simón, hijo de Jonás: tú serás llamado Cephas (que quiere decir, Piedra).

And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is by interpretation, Peter).

Il giorno seguente, Gesù volle andare in Galilea, e trovò Filippo, e gli disse: Seguitami.

El siguiente día quiso Jesús ir á Galilea, y halla á Felipe, al cual dijo: Sígueme.

The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.

On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galilee, and he found Philip. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”

Filippo trovò Natanaele, e gli disse: Noi abbiam trovato colui, del quale Mosè nella legge, ed i profeti hanno scritto; che è Gesù, figliuol di Giuseppe, che è da Nazaret.

Felipe halló á Natanael, y dícele: Hemos hallado á aquel de quien escribió Moisés en la ley, y los profetas: á Jesús, el hijo de José, de Nazaret.

Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, “We have found him of whom Moses in the law and also the prophets, wrote: Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

E Natanaele gli disse: Può egli esservi bene alcuno da Nazaret? Filippo gli disse: Vieni, e vedi.

Y díjole Natanael: ¿De Nazaret puede haber algo de bueno? Dícele Felipe: Ven y ve.

And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

Nathanael said to him, “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

Gesù vide venir Natanaele a sè, e disse di lui: Ecco veramente un Israelita, nel quale non vi è frode alcuna.

Jesús vió venir á sí á Natanael, y dijo de él: He aquí un verdadero Israelita, en el cual no hay engaño.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

Natanaele gli disse: Onde mi conosci? Gesù rispose, e gli disse: Avanti che Filippo ti chiamasse, quando tu eri sotto il fico, io ti vedeva.

Dícele Natanael: ¿De dónde me conoces? Respondió Jesús, y díjole: Antes que Felipe te llamara, cuando estabas debajo de la higuera te vi.

Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.

Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”

Natanaele rispose, e gli disse: Maestro, tu sei il Figliuol di Dio; tu sei il Re d'Israele.

Respondió Natanael, y díjole: Rabbí, tú eres el Hijo de Dios; tú eres el Rey de Israel.

Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are King of Israel!”

Gesù rispose, e gli disse: Perciocchè io ti ho detto ch'io ti vedeva sotto il fico, tu credi; tu vedrai cose maggiori di queste.

Respondió Jesús y díjole: ¿Porque te dije, te vi debajo de la higuera, crees? cosas mayores que éstas verás.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.

Jesus answered him, “Because I told you, ‘I saw you underneath the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these!”

Poi gli disse: In verità, in verità, io vi dico, che da ora innanzi voi vedrete il cielo aperto, e gli angeli di Dio salienti, e discendenti sopra il Figliuol dell'uomo.

Y dícele: De cierto, de cierto os digo: De aquí adelante veréis el cielo abierto, y los ángeles de Dios que suben y descienden sobre el Hijo del hombre.

And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

He said to him, “Most certainly, I tell you all, hereafter you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
