Au commencement était la Parole, et la Parole était avec Dieu ; et cette parole était Dieu :

Il y eut un homme appelé Jean, qui fut envoyé de Dieu.

Fué un hombre enviado de Dios, el cual se llamaba Juan.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

Il vint pour rendre témoignage, pour rendre, dis-je, témoignage à la Lumière, afin que tous crûssent par lui.

Este vino por testimonio, para que diese testimonio de la luz, para que todos creyesen por él.

The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

Il n’était pas la Lumière, mais il était envoyé pour rendre témoignage à la Lumière.

He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

Cette Lumière était la véritable, qui éclaire tout homme venant au monde.

Aquél era la luz verdadera, que alumbra á todo hombre que viene á este mundo.

That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.

Elle était au monde, et le monde a été fait par elle ; mais le monde ne l’a point connue.

En el mundo estaba, y el mundo fué hecho por él; y el mundo no le conoció.

He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world didn’t recognize him.

Il est venu chez soi ; et les siens ne l’ont point reçu ;

A lo suyo vino, y los suyos no le recibieron.

He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

He came to his own, and those who were his own didn’t receive him.

Mais à tous ceux qui l’ont reçu, il leur a donné le droit d’être faits enfants de Dieu, savoir à ceux qui croient en son Nom ;

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Lesquels ne sont point nés de sang, ni de la volonté de la chair, ni de la volonté de l’homme ; mais ils sont nés de Dieu.

Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Et la Parole a été faite chair, elle a habité parmi nous, et nous avons contemplé sa gloire, qui a été une gloire, comme la gloire du Fils unique du Père, pleine de grâce et de vérité.

Y aquel Verbo fué hecho carne, y habitó entre nosotros (y vimos su gloria, gloria como del unigénito del Padre), lleno de gracia y de verdad.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The Word became flesh and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the only born Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Jean a donc rendu témoignage de lui, et a crié, disant : c’est celui duquel je disais : celui qui vient après moi m’est préféré, car il était avant moi.

Juan dió testimonio de él, y clamó diciendo: Este es del que yo decía: El que viene tras mí, es antes de mí: porque es primero que yo.

John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

John testified about him. He cried out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me, for he was before me.’”

Et nous avons tous reçu de sa plénitude, et grâce pour grâce.

Porque de su plenitud tomamos todos, y gracia por gracia.

And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

From his fullness we all received grace upon grace.

Car la Loi a été donnée par Moïse ; la grâce et la vérité est venue par Jésus-Christ.

Porque la ley por Moisés fué dada: mas la gracia y la verdad por Jesucristo fué hecha.

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

For the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.

Personne ne vit jamais Dieu ; le Fils unique qui est au sein du Père, est celui qui nous l’a révélé.

A Dios nadie le vió jamás: el unigénito Hijo, que está en el seno del Padre, él le declaró.

No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

No one has seen God at any time. The only born Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, has declared him.

Et c’est ici le témoignage de Jean, lorsque les Juifs envoyèrent de Jérusalem des Sacrificateurs et des Lévites pour l’interroger, et lui dire : toi qui es-tu ?

Y éste es el testimonio de Juan, cuando los Judíos enviaron de Jerusalem sacerdotes y Levitas, que le preguntasen: ¿Tú, quién eres?

And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?

This is John’s testimony, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”

Car il l’avoua, et ne le nia point, il l’avoua, dis-je, en disant : ce n’est pas moi qui suis le Christ.

Y confesó, y no negó; mas declaró: No soy yo el Cristo.

And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.

He declared, and didn’t deny, but he declared, “I am not the Christ.”

Sur quoi ils lui demandèrent : qui es-tu donc ? Es-tu Elie ? Et il dit : je ne le suis point. Es-tu le Prophète ? Et il répondit : non.

Y le preguntaron: ¿Qué pues? ¿Eres tú Elías? Dijo: No soy. ¿Eres tú el profeta? Y respondió: No.

And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.

They asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the prophet?” He answered, “No.”

Ils lui dirent donc : qui es-tu, afin que nous donnions réponse à ceux qui nous ont envoyés ; que dis-tu de toi-même ?

Dijéronle: ¿Pues quién eres? para que demos respuesta á los que nos enviaron. ¿Qué dices de ti mismo?

Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

They said therefore to him, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”

Il dit : je suis la voix de celui qui crie dans le désert : aplanissez le chemin du Seigneur, comme a dit Esaïe le Prophète.

Dijo: Yo soy la voz del que clama en el desierto: Enderezad el camino del Señor, como dijo Isaías profeta.

He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

He said, “I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as Isaiah the prophet said.”

Or ceux qui avaient été envoyés vers lui étaient d’entre les Pharisiens.

Y los que habían sido enviados eran de los Fariseos.

And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.

The ones who had been sent were from the Pharisees.

Ils l’interrogèrent encore, et lui dirent : pourquoi donc baptises-tu si tu n’es point le Christ, ni Elie, ni le Prophète ?

Y preguntáronle, y dijéronle: ¿Por qué pues bautizas, si tú no eres el Cristo, ni Elías, ni el profeta?

And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

They asked him, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?”

Jean leur répondit, et leur dit : pour moi, je baptise d’eau ; mais il y en a un au milieu de vous, que vous ne connaissez point ;

Y Juan les respondió, diciendo: Yo bautizo con agua; mas en medio de vosotros ha estado á quien vosotros no conocéis.

John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

John answered them, “I baptize in water, but among you stands one whom you don’t know.

C’est celui qui vient après moi, qui m’est préféré, et duquel je ne suis pas digne de délier la courroie du soulier.

Este es el que ha de venir tras mí, el cual es antes de mí: del cual yo no soy digno de desatar la correa del zapato.

He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

He is the one who comes after me, who is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I’m not worthy to loosen.”

Ces choses arrivèrent à Bethabara, au-delà du Jourdain, où Jean baptisait.

Estas cosas acontecieron en Betábara, de la otra parte del Jordán, donde Juan bautizaba.

These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

Le lendemain Jean vit Jésus venir à lui, et il dit : voilà l’Agneau de Dieu, qui ôte le péché du monde.

El siguiente día ve Juan á Jesús que venía á él, y dice: He aquí el Cordero de Dios, que quita el pecado del mundo.

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

The next day, he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

C’est celui duquel je disais : après moi vient un personnage qui m’est préféré ; car il était avant moi.

Este es del que dije: Tras mí viene un varón, el cual es antes de mí: porque era primero que yo.

This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.

Et pour moi, je ne le connaissais point ; mais afin qu’il soit manifesté à Israël, je suis venu à cause de cela baptiser d’eau.

Y yo no le conocía; más para que fuese manifestado á Israel, por eso vine yo bautizando con agua.

And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

I didn’t know him, but for this reason I came baptizing in water, that he would be revealed to Israel.”

Jean rendit aussi témoignage, en disant : j’ai vu l’Esprit descendre du ciel comme une colombe, et s’arrêter sur lui.

Y Juan dió testimonio, diciendo: Vi al Espíritu que descendía del cielo como paloma, y reposó sobre él.

And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

John testified, saying, “I have seen the Spirit descending like a dove out of heaven, and it remained on him.

Et pour moi, je ne le connaissais point ; mais celui qui m’a envoyé baptiser d’eau, m’avait dit : celui sur qui tu verras l’Esprit descendre, et se fixer sur lui, c’est celui qui baptise du Saint-Esprit.

Y yo no le conocía; mas el que me envió á bautizar con agua, aquél me dijo: Sobre quien vieres descender el Espíritu, y que reposa sobre él, éste es el que bautiza con Espíritu Santo.

And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

I didn’t recognize him, but he who sent me to baptize in water said to me, ‘On whomever you will see the Spirit descending and remaining on him is he who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’

Et je l’ai vu, et j’ai rendu témoignage, que c’est lui qui est le Fils de Dieu.

Y yo le vi, y he dado testimonio que éste es el Hijo de Dios.

And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

I have seen and have testified that this is the Son of God.”

Le lendemain encore Jean s’arrêta, et avec lui deux de ses disciples ;

El siguiente día otra vez estaba Juan, y dos de sus discípulos.

Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;

Et regardant Jésus qui marchait, il dit : voilà l’Agneau de Dieu.

Y mirando á Jesús que andaba por allí, dijo: He aquí el Cordero de Dios.

And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

and he looked at Jesus as he walked, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God!”

Et les deux disciples l’entendirent tenant ce discours, et ils suivirent Jésus.

Y oyéronle los dos discípulos hablar, y siguieron á Jesús.

And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

Et Jésus se retournant, et voyant qu’ils le suivaient, il leur dit : que cherchez-vous ? Ils lui répondirent : Rabbi, c’est-à-dire, Maître, où demeures-tu ?

Y volviéndose Jesús, y viéndolos seguirle, díceles: ¿Qué buscáis? Y ellos le dijeron: Rabbí (que declarado quiere decir Maestro) ¿dónde moras?

Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?

Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, “What are you looking for?” They said to him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, being interpreted, Teacher), “where are you staying?”

Il leur dit : venez, et le voyez. Ils y allèrent, et ils virent où il demeurait ; et ils demeurèrent avec lui ce jour-là ; car il était environ dix heures.

Díceles: Venid y ved. Vinieron, y vieron donde moraba, y quedáronse con él aquel día: porque era como la hora de las diez.

He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.

He said to them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. It was about the tenth hour.

Or André, frère de Simon Pierre, était l’un des deux qui en avaient ouï parler à Jean, et qui l’avaient suivi.

Era Andrés, hermano de Simón Pedro, uno de los dos que habían oído de Juan, y le habían seguido.

One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.

Celui-ci trouva le premier Simon son frère, et il lui dit : nous avons trouvé le Messie ; c’est-à-dire, le Christ.

Este halló primero á su hermano Simón, y díjole: Hemos hallado al Mesías (que declarado es, el Cristo).

He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

He first found his own brother, Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah!” (which is, being interpreted, Christ).

Et il le mena vers Jésus, et Jésus ayant jeté la vue sur lui, dit : tu es Simon, fils de Jonas, tu seras appelé Céphas ; c’est-à-dire, Pierre.

Y le trajo á Jesús. Y mirándole Jesús, dijo: Tú eres Simón, hijo de Jonás: tú serás llamado Cephas (que quiere decir, Piedra).

And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is by interpretation, Peter).

Le lendemain Jésus voulut aller en Galilée, et il trouva Philippe, auquel il dit : suis-moi.

El siguiente día quiso Jesús ir á Galilea, y halla á Felipe, al cual dijo: Sígueme.

The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.

On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galilee, and he found Philip. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”

Or Philippe était de Bethsaïda, la ville d’André et de Pierre.

Y era Felipe de Bethsaida, la ciudad de Andrés y de Pedro.

Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

Philippe trouva Nathanaël, et lui dit : nous avons trouvé Jésus, qui est de Nazareth, fils de Joseph, celui duquel Moïse a écrit dans la Loi, et duquel aussi les Prophètes ont écrit.

Felipe halló á Natanael, y dícele: Hemos hallado á aquel de quien escribió Moisés en la ley, y los profetas: á Jesús, el hijo de José, de Nazaret.

Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, “We have found him of whom Moses in the law and also the prophets, wrote: Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

Et Nathanaël lui dit : peut-il venir quelque chose de bon de Nazareth ? Philippe lui dit : viens, et vois.

Y díjole Natanael: ¿De Nazaret puede haber algo de bueno? Dícele Felipe: Ven y ve.

And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

Nathanael said to him, “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

Jésus aperçut Nathanaël venir vers lui, et il dit de lui : voici vraiment un Israëlite en qui il n’y a point de fraude.

Jesús vió venir á sí á Natanael, y dijo de él: He aquí un verdadero Israelita, en el cual no hay engaño.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

Nathanaël lui dit : d’où me connais-tu ? Jésus répondit, et lui dit : avant que Philippe t’eût appelé quand tu étais sous le figuier, je te voyais.

Dícele Natanael: ¿De dónde me conoces? Respondió Jesús, y díjole: Antes que Felipe te llamara, cuando estabas debajo de la higuera te vi.

Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.

Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”

Nathanaël répondit, et lui dit : Maître, tu es le Fils de Dieu ; tu es le Roi d’Israël.

Respondió Natanael, y díjole: Rabbí, tú eres el Hijo de Dios; tú eres el Rey de Israel.

Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are King of Israel!”

Jésus répondit, et lui dit : parce que je t’ai dit que je te voyais sous le figuier, tu crois ; tu verras bien de plus grandes choses que ceci.

Respondió Jesús y díjole: ¿Porque te dije, te vi debajo de la higuera, crees? cosas mayores que éstas verás.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.

Jesus answered him, “Because I told you, ‘I saw you underneath the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these!”

Il lui dit aussi : en vérité, en vérité je vous dis : désormais vous verrez le ciel ouvert, et les Anges de Dieu montant et descendant sur le Fils de l’homme.

Y dícele: De cierto, de cierto os digo: De aquí adelante veréis el cielo abierto, y los ángeles de Dios que suben y descienden sobre el Hijo del hombre.

And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

He said to him, “Most certainly, I tell you all, hereafter you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
