Im Anfang war das Wort, und das Wort war bei Gott, und Gott war das Wort.

EN el principio era el Verbo, y el Verbo era con Dios, y el Verbo era Dios.

In ihm war Leben, und das Leben war das Licht der Menschen.

Und das Licht leuchtet in der Finsternis, doch die Finsternis hat es nicht ergriffen.

Es trat ein Mann auf, von Gott gesandt, sein Name war Johannes;

dieser kam, um Zeugnis abzulegen, Zeugnis von dem Licht, damit alle durch ihn zum Glauben kämen.

Este vino por testimonio, para que diese testimonio de la luz, para que todos creyesen por él.

The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

Er war nicht selbst das Licht, sondern Zeugnis sollte er von dem Licht ablegen.

No era él la luz, sino para que diese testimonio de la luz.

He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

Das Licht war da, das wahre, das jeden Menschen erleuchtet, es kam gerade in die Welt;

Aquél era la luz verdadera, que alumbra á todo hombre que viene á este mundo.

That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.

es war in der Welt, und die Welt war durch ihn (der das Licht war) geschaffen worden, doch die Welt erkannte ihn nicht.

En el mundo estaba, y el mundo fué hecho por él; y el mundo no le conoció.

He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

Er kam in das Seine, doch die Seinen nahmen ihn nicht auf;

A lo suyo vino, y los suyos no le recibieron.

He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

He came to his own, and those who were his own didn’t receive him.

allen aber, die ihn annahmen, verlieh er das Anrecht, Kinder Gottes zu werden, nämlich denen, die an seinen Namen glauben,

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

die nicht durch Geblüt oder durch den Naturtrieb des Fleisches, auch nicht durch den Willen eines Mannes, sondern aus Gott gezeugt sind.

Los cuales no son engendrados de sangre, ni de voluntad de carne, ni de voluntad de varón, mas de Dios.

Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Und das Wort wurde Fleisch und nahm seine Wohnung unter uns, und wir haben seine Herrlichkeit geschaut, eine Herrlichkeit, wie sie dem eingeborenen Sohne vom Vater verliehen wird; eine mit Gnade und Wahrheit erfüllte.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Johannes legt Zeugnis von ihm ab und hat laut verkündet: »Dieser war es, von dem ich gesagt habe: ›Der nach mir kommt, ist (schon) vor mir gewesen, denn er war eher als ich.‹«

Juan dió testimonio de él, y clamó diciendo: Este es del que yo decía: El que viene tras mí, es antes de mí: porque es primero que yo.

John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

John testified about him. He cried out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me, for he was before me.’”

Aus seiner Fülle haben wir ja alle empfangen, und zwar Gnade über Gnade.

Porque de su plenitud tomamos todos, y gracia por gracia.

And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

From his fullness we all received grace upon grace.

Denn das Gesetz ist durch Mose gegeben worden, aber die Gnade und die Wahrheit sind durch Jesus Christus geworden.

Porque la ley por Moisés fué dada: mas la gracia y la verdad por Jesucristo fué hecha.

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Niemand hat Gott jemals gesehen: der eingeborene Sohn, der an des Vaters Brust liegt, der hat Kunde (von ihm) gebracht.

A Dios nadie le vió jamás: el unigénito Hijo, que está en el seno del Padre, él le declaró.

No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

No one has seen God at any time. The only born Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, has declared him.

Dies ist nun das Zeugnis des Johannes, als die Juden aus Jerusalem Priester und Leviten zu ihm sandten, die ihn fragen sollten, wer er sei.

Y éste es el testimonio de Juan, cuando los Judíos enviaron de Jerusalem sacerdotes y Levitas, que le preguntasen: ¿Tú, quién eres?

And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?

This is John’s testimony, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”

Da bekannte er unverhohlen und erklärte offen: »Ich bin nicht Christus.«

Y confesó, y no negó; mas declaró: No soy yo el Cristo.

And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.

He declared, and didn’t deny, but he declared, “I am not the Christ.”

Sie fragten ihn weiter: »Was denn? Bist du Elia?« Er sagte: »Nein, ich bin es nicht.« »Bist du der Prophet?« Er antwortete: »Nein.«

Y le preguntaron: ¿Qué pues? ¿Eres tú Elías? Dijo: No soy. ¿Eres tú el profeta? Y respondió: No.

And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.

They asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the prophet?” He answered, “No.”

Da sagten sie zu ihm: »Wer bist du denn? Wir müssen doch denen, die uns gesandt haben, eine Antwort bringen! Wofür gibst du selbst dich aus?«

Dijéronle: ¿Pues quién eres? para que demos respuesta á los que nos enviaron. ¿Qué dices de ti mismo?

Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

They said therefore to him, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”

Da antwortete er: »Ich bin die Stimme dessen, der in der Wüste ruft: ›Ebnet dem Herrn den Weg!‹, wie der Prophet Jesaja geboten hat.«

Dijo: Yo soy la voz del que clama en el desierto: Enderezad el camino del Señor, como dijo Isaías profeta.

He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

He said, “I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as Isaiah the prophet said.”

Die Gesandten aber gehörten zu den Pharisäern

Y los que habían sido enviados eran de los Fariseos.

And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.

und fragten ihn weiter: »Warum taufst du denn, wenn du weder Christus noch Elia, noch der Prophet bist?«

Y preguntáronle, y dijéronle: ¿Por qué pues bautizas, si tú no eres el Cristo, ni Elías, ni el profeta?

And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

They asked him, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?”

Da antwortete Johannes ihnen: »Ich taufe nur mit Wasser; aber mitten unter euch steht der, den ihr nicht kennt,

Y Juan les respondió, diciendo: Yo bautizo con agua; mas en medio de vosotros ha estado á quien vosotros no conocéis.

John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

John answered them, “I baptize in water, but among you stands one whom you don’t know.

der nach mir kommt und für den ich nicht gut genug bin, ihm den Riemen seines Schuhwerks aufzubinden.«

Este es el que ha de venir tras mí, el cual es antes de mí: del cual yo no soy digno de desatar la correa del zapato.

He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

He is the one who comes after me, who is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I’m not worthy to loosen.”

Dies ist in Bethanien geschehen jenseits des Jordans, wo Johannes sich aufhielt und taufte.

Estas cosas acontecieron en Betábara, de la otra parte del Jordán, donde Juan bautizaba.

These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

Am folgenden Tage sah er Jesus auf sich zukommen; da sagte er: »Seht, das Lamm Gottes, das die Sünde der Welt hinwegnimmt!

El siguiente día ve Juan á Jesús que venía á él, y dice: He aquí el Cordero de Dios, que quita el pecado del mundo.

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

The next day, he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

Dieser ist’s, von dem ich gesagt habe: ›Nach mir kommt ein Mann, der (schon) vor mir gewesen ist; denn er war eher da als ich.‹

Este es del que dije: Tras mí viene un varón, el cual es antes de mí: porque era primero que yo.

This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.

Ich selbst kannte ihn nicht; aber damit er Israel offenbart würde, deshalb bin ich gekommen, ich mit meiner Wassertaufe.«

Y yo no le conocía; más para que fuese manifestado á Israel, por eso vine yo bautizando con agua.

And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

I didn’t know him, but for this reason I came baptizing in water, that he would be revealed to Israel.”

Weiter legte Johannes Zeugnis ab mit den Worten: »Ich habe gesehen, daß der Geist wie eine Taube aus dem Himmel herabschwebte und auf ihm blieb;

Y Juan dió testimonio, diciendo: Vi al Espíritu que descendía del cielo como paloma, y reposó sobre él.

And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

John testified, saying, “I have seen the Spirit descending like a dove out of heaven, and it remained on him.

und ich selbst kannte ihn nicht, aber der, welcher mich gesandt hat, um mit Wasser zu taufen, der hat zu mir gesagt: ›Auf welchen du den Geist herabschweben und auf ihm bleiben siehst, der ist’s, der mit heiligem Geiste tauft.‹

Y yo no le conocía; mas el que me envió á bautizar con agua, aquél me dijo: Sobre quien vieres descender el Espíritu, y que reposa sobre él, éste es el que bautiza con Espíritu Santo.

And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

I didn’t recognize him, but he who sent me to baptize in water said to me, ‘On whomever you will see the Spirit descending and remaining on him is he who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’

Nun habe ich selbst es auch gesehen und bezeugt, daß dieser der Sohn Gottes ist.«

Y yo le vi, y he dado testimonio que éste es el Hijo de Dios.

And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

I have seen and have testified that this is the Son of God.”

Am folgenden Tage stand Johannes wieder da mit zweien seiner Jünger,

Als die beiden Jünger ihn das sagen hörten, gingen sie hinter Jesus her;

dieser wandte sich um, und als er sie hinter sich herkommen sah, fragte er sie: »Was sucht ihr?« Sie antworteten ihm: »Rabbi« – das heißt übersetzt ›Meister‹ –, »wo hast du deine Herberge?«

Y volviéndose Jesús, y viéndolos seguirle, díceles: ¿Qué buscáis? Y ellos le dijeron: Rabbí (que declarado quiere decir Maestro) ¿dónde moras?

Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?

Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, “What are you looking for?” They said to him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, being interpreted, Teacher), “where are you staying?”

Er antwortete ihnen: »Kommt mit, so werdet ihr es sehen!« Sie gingen also mit und sahen, wo er seine Herberge hatte, und blieben jenen ganzen Tag bei ihm; es war um die zehnte Stunde.

Díceles: Venid y ved. Vinieron, y vieron donde moraba, y quedáronse con él aquel día: porque era como la hora de las diez.

He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.

Andreas, der Bruder des Simon Petrus, war einer von den beiden, die es von Johannes gehört hatten und hinter Jesus hergegangen waren.

Dieser traf zuerst seinen Bruder Simon und sagte zu ihm: »Wir haben den Messias« – das heißt übersetzt ›den Gesalbten‹ – »gefunden.«

He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

Er führte ihn dann zu Jesus; dieser blickte ihn an und sagte: »Du bist Simon, der Sohn des Johannes; du sollst Kephas – das heißt übersetzt ›Fels‹ – heißen.«

Y le trajo á Jesús. Y mirándole Jesús, dijo: Tú eres Simón, hijo de Jonás: tú serás llamado Cephas (que quiere decir, Piedra).

And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is by interpretation, Peter).

Am folgenden Tage wollte Jesus nach Galiläa aufbrechen; da traf er Philippus und sagte zu ihm: »Folge mir nach!«

El siguiente día quiso Jesús ir á Galilea, y halla á Felipe, al cual dijo: Sígueme.

The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.

On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galilee, and he found Philip. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”

Philippus stammte aber aus Bethsaida, dem Heimatort des Andreas und des Petrus.

Philippus traf (darauf) den Nathanael und berichtete ihm: »Wir haben den gefunden, von welchem Mose im Gesetz und die Propheten geschrieben haben, Jesus, den Sohn Josephs, aus Nazareth.«

Felipe halló á Natanael, y dícele: Hemos hallado á aquel de quien escribió Moisés en la ley, y los profetas: á Jesús, el hijo de José, de Nazaret.

Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, “We have found him of whom Moses in the law and also the prophets, wrote: Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

Da sagte Nathanael zu ihm: »Kann aus Nazareth etwas Gutes kommen?« Philippus erwiderte ihm: »Komm mit uns sieh!«

Y díjole Natanael: ¿De Nazaret puede haber algo de bueno? Dícele Felipe: Ven y ve.

And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

Nathanael said to him, “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

Als Jesus den Nathanael auf sich zukommen sah, sagte er von ihm: »Siehe da, in Wahrheit ein Israelit, in dem kein Falsch ist!«

Jesús vió venir á sí á Natanael, y dijo de él: He aquí un verdadero Israelita, en el cual no hay engaño.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

Nathanael fragte ihn: »Woher kennst du mich?« Jesus antwortete ihm mit den Worten: »Noch ehe Philippus dich rief, als du unter dem Feigenbaum warst, habe ich dich gesehen.«

Dícele Natanael: ¿De dónde me conoces? Respondió Jesús, y díjole: Antes que Felipe te llamara, cuando estabas debajo de la higuera te vi.

Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.

Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”

Da antwortete ihm Nathanael: »Rabbi, du bist Gottes Sohn, du bist der König von Israel!«

Respondió Natanael, y díjole: Rabbí, tú eres el Hijo de Dios; tú eres el Rey de Israel.

Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are King of Israel!”

Jesus gab ihm zur Antwort: »Du glaubst (an mich), weil ich dir gesagt habe, daß ich dich unter dem Feigenbaum gesehen habe? Du wirst noch Größeres als dies zu sehen bekommen.«

Respondió Jesús y díjole: ¿Porque te dije, te vi debajo de la higuera, crees? cosas mayores que éstas verás.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.

Jesus answered him, “Because I told you, ‘I saw you underneath the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these!”

Dann fuhr er fort: »Wahrlich, wahrlich ich sage euch: Ihr werdet den Himmel offen sehen und die Engel Gottes über dem Menschensohn hinauf- und herabsteigen sehen.«

Y dícele: De cierto, de cierto os digo: De aquí adelante veréis el cielo abierto, y los ángeles de Dios que suben y descienden sobre el Hijo del hombre.

And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

He said to him, “Most certainly, I tell you all, hereafter you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
