Havia uma autoridade religiosa entre os judeus cujo nome era Nicodemos.
Y HABÍA un hombre de los Fariseos que se llamaba Nicodemo, príncipe de los Judíos.
There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
Ele veio a Jesus à noite e disse: “Mestre, todos nós sabemos que Deus enviou o Senhor para nos ensinar. Os seus milagres são uma prova suficiente disto”.
Este vino á Jesús de noche, y díjole: Rabbí, sabemos que has venido de Dios por maestro; porque nadie puede hacer estas señales que tú haces, si no fuere Dios con él.
The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
He came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him.”
Jesus respondeu: “Verdadeiramente, digo-lhe isto: Se alguém não nascer de novo, nunca poderá ver o Reino de Deus”.
Respondió Jesús, y díjole: De cierto, de cierto te digo, que el que no naciere otra vez, no puede ver el reino de Dios.
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Jesus answered him, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can’t see God’s Kingdom.”
“Nascer de novo!”, exclamou Nicodemos. “O que o Senhor quer dizer? Como pode um homem velho voltar para o ventre da mãe e nascer outra vez?”
Dícele Nicodemo: ¿Cómo puede el hombre nacer siendo viejo? ¿puede entrar otra vez en el vientre de su madre, y nacer?
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
Jesus respondeu: “O que eu lhe estou dizendo é verdade: Se alguém não nascer da água e do Espírito não pode entrar no Reino de Deus.
Respondió Jesús: De cierto, de cierto te digo, que el que no naciere de agua y del Espíritu, no puede entrar en el reino de Dios.
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Jesus answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and Spirit, he can’t enter into God’s Kingdom.
O que nasce da carne é carne, mas o que nasce do Espírito é espírito.
Lo que es nacido de la carne, carne es; y lo que es nacido del Espíritu, espíritu es.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Portanto, não se admire da minha declaração de que é preciso nascer de novo!
No te maravilles de que te dije: Os es necesario nacer otra vez.
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Don’t marvel that I said to you, ‘You must all be born anew.’
Assim como você pode ouvir o vento, mas não pode dizer de onde ele vem ou para onde vai, assim acontece com todos os nascidos do Espírito”.
El viento de donde quiere sopla, y oyes su sonido; mas ni sabes de dónde viene, ni á dónde vaya: así es todo aquel que es nacido del Espíritu.
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don’t know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
“Como pode ser isso?”, perguntou Nicodemos.
Respondió Nicodemo, y díjole: ¿Cómo puede esto hacerse?
Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
Nicodemus answered him, “How can these things be?”
Jesus respondeu: “Você é mestre em Israel e ainda assim não entende estas coisas?
Respondió Jesús, y díjole: ¿Tú eres el maestro de Israel, y no sabes esto?
Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and don’t understand these things?
Eu afirmo a você que isto é verdade: Nós falamos daquilo que sabemos e testemunhamos do que vimos, e mesmo assim vocês não querem crer em mim.
De cierto, de cierto te digo, que lo que sabemos hablamos, y lo que hemos visto, testificamos; y no recibís nuestro testimonio.
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
Most certainly I tell you, we speak that which we know and testify of that which we have seen, and you don’t receive our witness.
Se vocês não creem em mim nem quando falo sobre coisas como estas que acontecem aqui entre os homens, como vocês crerão se eu falar de coisas celestes?
Si os he dicho cosas terrenas, y no creéis, ¿cómo creeréis si os dijere las celestiales?
If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
If I told you earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
Ninguém jamais subiu ao céu, a não ser aquele que veio do céu, ou seja, o Filho do Homem.
Y nadie subió al cielo, sino el que descendió del cielo, el Hijo del hombre, que está en el cielo.
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven.
E como Moisés no deserto levantou numa estaca uma serpente de bronze, assim também é necessário que o Filho do Homem seja levantado,
Y como Moisés levantó la serpiente en el desierto, así es necesario que el Hijo del hombre sea levantado;
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

para que todo aquele que nele crer tenha a vida eterna.
Para que todo aquel que en él creyere, no se pierda, sino que tenga vida eterna.
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Porque Deus amou tanto o mundo que deu o seu Filho único para que todo aquele que crer nele não pereça, mas tenha a vida eterna.
Porque de tal manera amó Dios al mundo, que ha dado á su Hijo unigénito, para que todo aquel que en él cree, no se pierda, mas tenga vida eterna.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Deus não enviou o seu Filho ao mundo para condenar o mundo, mas para que o mundo fosse salvo por meio dele.
Porque no envió Dios á su Hijo al mundo para que condene al mundo, mas para que el mundo sea salvo por él.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.
“Não há condenação reservada para aqueles que creem nele como Salvador. Mas aqueles que não creem nele já estão condenados por não crerem no Filho único de Deus.
El que en él cree, no es condenado; mas el que no cree, ya es condenado, porque no creyó en el nombre del unigénito Hijo de Dios.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only born Son of God.
A sentença deles está baseada neste fato: A luz veio ao mundo, porém os homens amaram mais as trevas do que a luz, porque as suas obras eram más.
Y esta es la condenación: porque la luz vino al mundo, y los hombres amaron más las tinieblas que la luz; porque sus obras eran malas.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were evil.
Os que praticam o mal odeiam a luz e ficam longe dela, com medo de que seus pecados sejam revelados.
Porque todo aquel que hace lo malo, aborrece la luz y no viene á la luz, porque sus obras no sean redargüidas.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
For everyone who does evil hates the light and doesn’t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed.
Mas aqueles que praticam a verdade têm prazer em vir para a luz, a fim de que todos vejam que as suas obras são realizadas por intermédio de Deus”.
Mas el que obra verdad, viene á la luz, para que sus obras sean manifestadas que son hechas en Dios.
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.”
Depois disso, Jesus e seus discípulos foram para a região da Judeia, onde passou um tempo com eles e batizava.
Pasado esto, vino Jesús con sus discípulos á la tierra de Judea; y estaba allí con ellos, y bautizaba.
After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judæa; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
After these things, Jesus came with his disciples into the land of Judea. He stayed there with them and baptized.
Nessa época, João também batizava em Enom, perto de Salim, porque ali havia bastante água, e o povo vinha para ser batizado.
Y bautizaba también Juan en Enón junto á Salim, porque había allí muchas aguas; y venían, y eran bautizados.
And John also was baptizing in Ænon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

Porque Juan no había sido aún puesto en la carcel.

Um dia alguém começou uma discussão com alguns dos discípulos de João sobre a cerimônia da purificação.
Y hubo cuestión entre los discípulos de Juan y los Judíos acerca de la purificación.
Then there arose a question between some of John’s disciples and the Jews about purifying.
Therefore a dispute arose on the part of John’s disciples with some Jews about purification.
Eles foram falar com João e lhe disseram: “Mestre, o homem que o senhor encontrou no outro lado do rio Jordão, aquele do qual o senhor testemunhou, também está batizando, e todos estão indo atrás dele, em vez de virem a nós aqui”.
Y vinieron á Juan, y dijéronle: Rabbí, el que estaba contigo de la otra parte del Jordán, del cual tú diste testimonio, he aquí bautiza, y todos vienen á él.
And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.
They came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, he who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, he baptizes, and everyone is coming to him.”
João respondeu: “O homem não pode receber nada se do céu não lhe for concedido.
Respondió Juan, y dijo: No puede el hombre recibir algo, si no le fuere dado del cielo.
John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
John answered, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven.
Vocês são testemunhas de que eu disse: Eu não sou o Cristo. Eu estou aqui para preparar o caminho para ele; isso é tudo.
Vosotros mismos me sois testigos que dije: Yo no soy el Cristo, sino que soy enviado delante de él.
Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
You yourselves testify that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent before him.’
A noiva irá para onde o noivo está! Os amigos do noivo alegram-se com ele. Eu sou o amigo do noivo, e estou cheio de alegria com o sucesso dele.
El que tiene la esposa, es el esposo; mas el amigo del esposo, que está en pie y le oye, se goza grandemente de la voz del esposo; así pues, este mi gozo es cumplido.
He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore my joy is made full.
Ele deve tornar-se cada vez maior, e eu devo diminuir cada vez mais.
A él conviene crecer, mas á mí menguar.
He must increase, but I must decrease.
He must increase, but I must decrease.
“Aquele que veio do céu é maior do que qualquer outro; aquele que é da terra pertence à terra e fala das coisas da terra. Aquele que vem dos céus é mais importante do que todos.
El que de arriba viene, sobre todos es: el que es de la tierra, terreno es, y cosas terrenas habla: el que viene del cielo, sobre todos es.
He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
“He who comes from above is above all. He who is from the earth belongs to the earth and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.
Ele fala do que viu e ouviu, mas são poucos os que creem no que ele fala!
Y lo que vió y oyó, esto testifica: y nadie recibe su testimonio.
And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
What he has seen and heard, of that he testifies; and no one receives his witness.
Aqueles que creem nele descobrem que Deus é a fonte da verdade.
El que recibe su testimonio, éste signó que Dios es verdadero.
He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
He who has received his witness has set his seal to this, that God is true.
Pois, sendo enviado por Deus, ele fala as palavras de Deus, porque ele dá o Espírito sem medida nem limite.
Porque el que Dios envió, las palabras de Dios habla: porque no da Dios el Espíritu por medida.
For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for God gives the Spirit without measure.
O Pai ama o Filho e entregou tudo o que existe em suas mãos.
El Padre ama al Hijo, y todas las cosas dió en su mano.
The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand.
Quem crê no Filho tem a vida eterna; mas aquele que rejeita o Filho não verá a vida; pelo contrário, a ira de Deus permanece sobre ele”.
El que cree en el Hijo, tiene vida eterna; mas el que es incrédulo al Hijo, no verá la vida, sino que la ira de Dios está sobre él.
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
One who believes in the Son has eternal life, but one who disobeys the Son won’t see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”
