Había un hombre en la secta de los fariseos, llamado Nicodemo, varón principal entre los judíos.
Y HABÍA un hombre de los Fariseos que se llamaba Nicodemo, príncipe de los Judíos.
There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
El cual fue de noche a Jesús , y le dijo: Maestro, nosotros conocemos que eres un maestro enviado de Dios para instruirnos; porque ninguno puede hacer los milagros que tú haces, a no tener a Dios consigo.
Este vino á Jesús de noche, y díjole: Rabbí, sabemos que has venido de Dios por maestro; porque nadie puede hacer estas señales que tú haces, si no fuere Dios con él.
The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
He came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him.”
Le respondió Jesús : Pues en verdad, en verdad te digo, que quien no naciere de nuevo, no puede ver el reino de Dios o tener parte en él.
Respondió Jesús, y díjole: De cierto, de cierto te digo, que el que no naciere otra vez, no puede ver el reino de Dios.
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Jesus answered him, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can’t see God’s Kingdom.”
Le dijo Nicodemo: ¿Cómo puede nacer un hombre, siendo viejo? ¿Puede acaso volver otra vez al seno de su madre para renacer?
Dícele Nicodemo: ¿Cómo puede el hombre nacer siendo viejo? ¿puede entrar otra vez en el vientre de su madre, y nacer?
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
En verdad, en verdad te digo, respondió Jesús , que quien no renaciere por el bautismo del agua, y la gracia del Espíritu Santo, no puede entrar en el reino de Dios.
Respondió Jesús: De cierto, de cierto te digo, que el que no naciere de agua y del Espíritu, no puede entrar en el reino de Dios.
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Jesus answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and Spirit, he can’t enter into God’s Kingdom.
Lo que ha nacido de la carne, carne es; mas lo que ha nacido del espíritu, es espíritu, o espiritual.
Lo que es nacido de la carne, carne es; y lo que es nacido del Espíritu, espíritu es.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Por tanto no extrañes que te haya dicho: Os es preciso nacer otra vez.
No te maravilles de que te dije: Os es necesario nacer otra vez.
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Don’t marvel that I said to you, ‘You must all be born anew.’
Pues el espíritu, o el aire, sopla donde quiere; y tú oyes su sonido, mas no sabes de dónde sale, o a dónde va; eso mismo sucede al que nace del espíritu.
El viento de donde quiere sopla, y oyes su sonido; mas ni sabes de dónde viene, ni á dónde vaya: así es todo aquel que es nacido del Espíritu.
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don’t know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
Le preguntó Nicodemo: ¿Cómo puede hacerse esto?
Respondió Nicodemo, y díjole: ¿Cómo puede esto hacerse?
Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
Nicodemus answered him, “How can these things be?”
Le respondió Jesús : ¿Y tú eres maestro en Israel, y no entiendes estas cosas?
Respondió Jesús, y díjole: ¿Tú eres el maestro de Israel, y no sabes esto?
Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and don’t understand these things?
En verdad, en verdad te digo, que nosotros no hablamos sino lo que sabemos bien, y no atestiguamos, sino lo que hemos visto, y vosotros con todo no admitís nuestro testimonio.
De cierto, de cierto te digo, que lo que sabemos hablamos, y lo que hemos visto, testificamos; y no recibís nuestro testimonio.
Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
Most certainly I tell you, we speak that which we know and testify of that which we have seen, and you don’t receive our witness.
Si os he hablado de cosas de la tierra, y no me creéis, ¿cómo me creeréis si os hablo de cosas del cielo?
Si os he dicho cosas terrenas, y no creéis, ¿cómo creeréis si os dijere las celestiales?
If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
If I told you earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
Ello es así que nadie subió al cielo, sino aquel que ha descendido del cielo, a saber, el Hijo del hombre, que está en el cielo.
Y nadie subió al cielo, sino el que descendió del cielo, el Hijo del hombre, que está en el cielo.
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven.
Al modo que Moisés en el desierto levantó en alto la serpiente de bronce, así también es necesario que el Hijo del hombre sea levantado en alto,
Y como Moisés levantó la serpiente en el desierto, así es necesario que el Hijo del hombre sea levantado;
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
para que todo aquel que crea en él no perezca, sino que logre la vida eterna.
Para que todo aquel que en él creyere, no se pierda, sino que tenga vida eterna.
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Que amó tanto Dios al mundo, que no paró hasta dar a su hijo unigénito; a fin de que todos los que creen en él, no perezcan, sino que vivan vida eterna.
Porque de tal manera amó Dios al mundo, que ha dado á su Hijo unigénito, para que todo aquel que en él cree, no se pierda, mas tenga vida eterna.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Pues no envió Dios su Hijo al mundo para condenar al mundo, sino para que por su medio el mundo se salve.
Porque no envió Dios á su Hijo al mundo para que condene al mundo, mas para que el mundo sea salvo por él.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.
Quien cree en él, no es condenado: pero quien no cree, ya tiene hecha la condena; porque no cree en el nombre del Hijo unigénito de Dios.
El que en él cree, no es condenado; mas el que no cree, ya es condenado, porque no creyó en el nombre del unigénito Hijo de Dios.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only born Son of God.
Este juicio de condenación consiste en que la luz vino al mundo, y los hombres amaron más las tinieblas que la luz, por cuanto sus obras eran malas.
Y esta es la condenación: porque la luz vino al mundo, y los hombres amaron más las tinieblas que la luz; porque sus obras eran malas.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were evil.
Pues quien obra mal, aborrece la luz, y no se arrima a ella, para que no sean reprendidas sus obras.
Porque todo aquel que hace lo malo, aborrece la luz y no viene á la luz, porque sus obras no sean redargüidas.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
For everyone who does evil hates the light and doesn’t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed.
Al contrario, quien obra según la verdad le inspira, se arrima a la luz, a fin de que sus obras se vean, pues han sido hechas según Dios.
Mas el que obra verdad, viene á la luz, para que sus obras sean manifestadas que son hechas en Dios.
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.”
Después de esto se fue Jesús con sus discípulos a la Judea; y allí moraba con ellos, y bautizaba por medio de los mismos.
Pasado esto, vino Jesús con sus discípulos á la tierra de Judea; y estaba allí con ellos, y bautizaba.
After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judæa; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
After these things, Jesus came with his disciples into the land of Judea. He stayed there with them and baptized.
Juan asimismo proseguía bautizando en Ennón, junto a Salim, porque allí había mucha agua, y concurrían las gentes, y eran bautizadas.
Y bautizaba también Juan en Enón junto á Salim, porque había allí muchas aguas; y venían, y eran bautizados.
And John also was baptizing in Ænon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

Que todavía Juan no había sido puesto en la cárcel.
Porque Juan no había sido aún puesto en la carcel.
For John was not yet cast into prison.

Con esta ocasión se suscitó una disputa entre los discípulos de Juan y algunos judíos acerca del bautismo .
Y hubo cuestión entre los discípulos de Juan y los Judíos acerca de la purificación.
Then there arose a question between some of John’s disciples and the Jews about purifying.
Therefore a dispute arose on the part of John’s disciples with some Jews about purification.
Y acudieron a Juan sus discípulos, y le dijeron: Maestro, aquel que estaba contigo a la otra parte del Jordán, de quien diste un testimonio tan honorífico, he aquí que se ha puesto a bautizar, y todos se van a él.
Y vinieron á Juan, y dijéronle: Rabbí, el que estaba contigo de la otra parte del Jordán, del cual tú diste testimonio, he aquí bautiza, y todos vienen á él.
And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.
They came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, he who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, he baptizes, and everyone is coming to him.”
Pero Juan les respondió, y dijo: No puede el hombre atribuirse nada, si no le es dado del cielo.
Respondió Juan, y dijo: No puede el hombre recibir algo, si no le fuere dado del cielo.
John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
John answered, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven.
Vosotros mismos sois testigos de que he dicho: Yo no soy el Cristo , sino que he sido enviado delante de él como precursor suyo.
Vosotros mismos me sois testigos que dije: Yo no soy el Cristo, sino que soy enviado delante de él.
Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
You yourselves testify that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent before him.’
El esposo es aquel que tiene la esposa; mas el amigo del esposo, que está para asistirle y atender a lo que dispone, se llena de gozo con oír la voz del esposo. Mi gozo, pues, es ahora completo.
El que tiene la esposa, es el esposo; mas el amigo del esposo, que está en pie y le oye, se goza grandemente de la voz del esposo; así pues, este mi gozo es cumplido.
He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore my joy is made full.
Conviene que él crezca, y que yo mengüe.
A él conviene crecer, mas á mí menguar.
He must increase, but I must decrease.
He must increase, but I must decrease.
El que ha venido de lo alto es superior a todos. Quien trae su origen de la tierra, a la tierra pertenece, y de la tierra habla. El que nos ha venido del cielo es superior a todos,
El que de arriba viene, sobre todos es: el que es de la tierra, terreno es, y cosas terrenas habla: el que viene del cielo, sobre todos es.
He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
“He who comes from above is above all. He who is from the earth belongs to the earth and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.
y atestigua cosas que ha visto, y oído; y con todo casi nadie presta fe a su testimonio.
Y lo que vió y oyó, esto testifica: y nadie recibe su testimonio.
And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
What he has seen and heard, of that he testifies; and no one receives his witness.
Mas quien ha adherido a lo que él atestigua, testifica con su fe que Dios es verídico.
El que recibe su testimonio, éste signó que Dios es verdadero.
He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
He who has received his witness has set his seal to this, that God is true.
Porque éste a quien Dios ha enviado, habla las mismas palabras que Dios; pues Dios no le ha dado su Espíritu con medida.
Porque el que Dios envió, las palabras de Dios habla: porque no da Dios el Espíritu por medida.
For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for God gives the Spirit without measure.
El Padre ama al Hijo, y ha puesto todas las cosas en su mano.
El Padre ama al Hijo, y todas las cosas dió en su mano.
The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand.
Aquel que cree en el Hijo de Dios, tiene vida eterna; pero quien no da crédito al Hijo, no verá la vida, sino que al contrario, la ira de Dios permanece siempre sobre su cabeza.
El que cree en el Hijo, tiene vida eterna; mas el que es incrédulo al Hijo, no verá la vida, sino que la ira de Dios está sobre él.
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
One who believes in the Son has eternal life, but one who disobeys the Son won’t see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”
