Danach war ein Fest der Juden, und Jesus zog hinauf gen Jerusalem.

DESPUÉS de estas cosas, era un día de fiesta de los Judíos, y subió Jesús á Jerusalem.

After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

After these things, there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

Es ist aber zu Jerusalem bei dem Schafhause ein Teich, der heißt auf ebraisch Bethesda und hat fünf Hallen,

Y hay en Jerusalem á la puerta del ganado un estanque, que en hebraico es llamado Bethesda, el cual tiene cinco portales.

Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.

Now in Jerusalem by the sheep gate, there is a pool, which is called in Hebrew, “Bethesda”, having five porches.

in welchen lagen viel Kranke, Blinde, Lahme, Durre; die warteten, wenn sich das Wasser bewegte.

En éstos yacía multitud de enfermos, ciegos, cojos, secos, que estaban esperando el movimiento del agua.

In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.

In these lay a great multitude of those who were sick, blind, lame, or paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water;

Denn ein Engel fuhr herab zu seiner Zeit in den Teich und bewegte das Wasser. Welcher nun der erste, nachdem das Wasser beweget war, hineinstieg, der ward gesund, mit welcherlei Seuche er behaftet war.

Porque un ángel descendía á cierto tiempo al estanque, y revolvía el agua; y el que primero descendía en el estanque después del movimiento del agua, era sano de cualquier enfermedad que tuviese.

For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.

for an angel went down at certain times into the pool and stirred up the water. Whoever stepped in first after the stirring of the water was healed of whatever disease he had.

Es war aber ein Mensch daselbst, achtunddreißig Jahre krank gelegen.

Y estaba allí un hombre que había treinta y ocho años que estaba enfermo.

And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

A certain man was there who had been sick for thirty-eight years.

Da Jesus denselbigen sah liegen und vernahm, daß er so lange gelegen hatte, spricht er zu ihm: Willst du gesund werden?

Como Jesús vió á éste echado, y entendió que ya había mucho tiempo, dícele: ¿Quieres ser sano?

When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?

When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had been sick for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to be made well?”

Der Kranke antwortete ihm: Herr, ich habe keinen Menschen, wenn das Wasser sich beweget, der mich in den Teich lasse; und wenn ich komme, so steiget ein anderervormirhinein.

Señor, le respondió el enfermo, no tengo hombre que me meta en el estanque cuando el agua fuere revuelta; porque entre tanto que yo vengo, otro antes de mí ha descendido.

The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I’m coming, another steps down before me.”

Jesus spricht zu ihm: Stehe auf, nimm dein Bett und gehe hin!

Dícele Jesús: Levántate, toma tu lecho, y anda.

Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

Jesus said to him, “Arise, take up your mat, and walk.”

Und alsbald ward der Mensch gesund und nahm sein Bett und ging hin. Es war aber desselbigen Tages der Sabbat.

Y luego aquel hombre fué sano, y tomó su lecho, é íbase. Y era sábado aquel día.

And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

Immediately, the man was made well, and took up his mat and walked. Now that day was a Sabbath.

Da sprachen die Juden zu dem, der gesund war worden: Es ist heute Sabbat; es ziemt dir nicht, das Bett zu tragen.

Entonces los Judíos decían á aquel que había sido sanado: Sábado es: no te es lícito llevar tu lecho.

The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.

So the Jews said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath. It is not lawful for you to carry the mat.”

Er antwortete ihnen: Der mich gesund machte, der sprach zu mir: Nimm dein Bett und gehe hin.

Respondióles: El que me sanó, él mismo me dijo: Toma tu lecho y anda.

He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.

He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your mat and walk.’ ”

Da fragten sie ihn: Wer ist der Mensch, der zu dir gesagt hat: Nimm dein Bett und gehe hin?

Preguntáronle entonces: ¿Quién es el que te dijo: Toma tu lecho y anda?

Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?

Then they asked him, “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Take up your mat and walk’?”

Der aber gesund war worden, wulite nicht, wer er war; denn Jesus war gewichen, da so viel Volks an dem Ort war.

Y el que había sido sanado, no sabía quién fuese; porque Jesús se había apartado de la gente que estaba en aquel lugar.

And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.

But he who was healed didn’t know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a crowd being in the place.

Danach fand ihn Jesus im Tempel und sprach zu ihm: Siehe zu, du bist gesund worden; sundige hinfort nicht mehr, daß dir nicht etwas Argeres widerfahre!

Después le halló Jesús en el templo, y díjole: He aquí, has sido sanado; no peques más, porque no te venga alguna cosa peor.

Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “Behold, you are made well. Sin no more, so that nothing worse happens to you.”

Der Mensch ging hin und verkundigte es den Juden, es sei Jesus, der ihn gesund gemacht habe.

El se fué, y dió aviso á los Judíos, que Jesús era el que le había sanado.

The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.

The man went away, and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.

Darum verfolgten die Juden Jesum und suchten ihn zu toten, daß er solches getan hatte auf den Sabbat.

Y por esta causa los Judíos perseguían á Jesús, y procuraban matarle, porque hacía estas cosas en sábado.

And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.

For this cause the Jews persecuted Jesus and sought to kill him, because he did these things on the Sabbath.

Jesus aber antwortete ihnen: Mein Vater wirket bisher, und ich wirke auch.

Y Jesús les respondió: Mi Padre hasta ahora obra, y yo obro.

But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.

But Jesus answered them, “My Father is still working, so I am working, too.”

Darum trachteten ihm die Juden nun viel mehr nach, daß sie ihn toteten, daß er nicht allein den Sabbat brach, sondern sagte auch, Gott sei sein Vater, und machte sich selbst Gott gleich.

Entonces, por tanto, más procuraban los Judíos matarle, porque no sólo quebrantaba el sábado, sino que también á su Padre llamaba Dios, haciéndose igual á Dios.

Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

For this cause therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

Da antwortete Jesus und sprach zu ihnen: Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch, der Sohn kann nichts von ihm selber tun, denn was er siehet den Vater tun; denn was derselbige tut, das tut gleich auch der Sohn.

Respondió entonces Jesús, y díjoles: De cierto, de cierto os digo: No puede el Hijo hacer nada de sí mismo, sino lo que viere hacer al Padre: porque todo lo que él hace, esto también hace el Hijo juntamente.

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

Jesus therefore answered them, “Most certainly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father doing. For whatever things he does, these the Son also does likewise.

Der Vater aber hat den Sohn lieb und zeiget ihm alles, was er tut, und wird ihm noch groftere Werke zeigen, daß ihr euch verwundern werdet.

Porque el Padre ama al Hijo, y le muestra todas las cosas que él hace; y mayores obras que éstas le mostrará, de suerte que vosotros os maravilléis.

For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.

For the Father has affection for the Son, and shows him all things that he himself does. He will show him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

Denn wie der Vater die Toten auferweckt und machet sie lebendig, also auch der Sohn machet lebendig, welche er will.

Porque como el Padre levanta los muertos, y les da vida, así también el Hijo á los que quiere da vida.

For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.

For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom he desires.

Denn der Vater richtet niemand, sondern alles Gericht hat er dem Sohn gegeben,

Porque el Padre á nadie juzga, mas todo el juicio dió al Hijo;

For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

For the Father judges no one, but he has given all judgment to the Son,

auf daß sie alle den Sohn ehren, wie sie den Vater ehren. Wer den Sohn nicht ehret, der ehret den Vater nicht, der ihn gesandt hat.

Para que todos honren al Hijo como honran al Padre. El que no honra al Hijo, no honra al Padre que le envió.

That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who doesn’t honor the Son doesn’t honor the Father who sent him.

Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wer mein Wort horet und glaubet dem, der mich gesandt hat, der hat das ewige Leben und kommt nicht in das Gericht, sondern er ist vom Tode zum Leben hindurchgedrungen.

De cierto, de cierto os digo: El que oye mi palabra, y cree al que me ha enviado, tiene vida eterna; y no vendrá á condenación, mas pasó de muerte á vida.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

“Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and doesn’t come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Es kommt die Stunde und ist schon jetzt, daß die Toten werden die Stimme des Sohnes Gottes horen; und die sie horen werden, die werden leben.

De cierto, de cierto os digo: Vendrá hora, y ahora es, cuando los muertos oirán la voz del Hijo de Dios: y los que oyeren vivirán.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

Most certainly I tell you, the hour comes, and now is, when the dead will hear the Son of God’s voice; and those who hear will live.

Denn wie der Vater das Leben hat in ihm selber, also hat er dem Sohn gegeben, das Leben zu haben in ihm selber.

Porque como el Padre tiene vida en sí mismo, así dió también al Hijo que tuviese vida en sí mismo:

For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

For as the Father has life in himself, even so he gave to the Son also to have life in himself.

Und hat ihm Macht gegeben, auch das Gericht zu halten, darum daß er des Menschen Sohn ist.

Y también le dió poder de hacer juicio, en cuanto es el Hijo del hombre.

And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

He also gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man.

Verwundert euch des nicht; denn es kommt die Stunde, in welcher alle, die in den Grabern sind, werden seine Stimme horen

No os maravilléis de esto; porque vendrá hora, cuando todos los que están en los sepulcros oirán su voz;

Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

Don’t marvel at this, for the hour comes in which all who are in the tombs will hear his voice

und werden hervorgehen, die da Gutes getan haben, zur Auferstehung des Lebens, die aber Ubels getan haben, zur Auferstehung des Gerichts.

Y los que hicieron bien, saldrán á resurrección de vida; mas los que hicieron mal, á resurrección de condenación.

And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

and will come out; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.

Ich kann nichts von mir selber tun. Wie ich hore, so richte ich, und mein Gericht ist recht; denn ich suche nicht meinen Willen, sondern des Vaters Willen, der mich gesandt hat.

No puedo yo de mí mismo hacer nada: como oigo, juzgo: y mi juicio es justo; porque no busco mi voluntad, mas la voluntad del que me envió, del Padre.

I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and my judgment is righteous, because I don’t seek my own will, but the will of my Father who sent me.

So ich von mir selbst zeuge, so ist mein Zeugnis nicht wahr.

Si yo doy testimonio de mí mismo, mi testimonio no es verdadero.

If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.

“If I testify about myself, my witness is not valid.

Ein anderer ist's, der von mir zeuget; und ich weiß, daß das Zeugnis wahr ist, das er von mir zeuget.

Otro es el que da testimonio de mí; y sé que el testimonio que da de mí, es verdadero.

There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.

It is another who testifies about me. I know that the testimony which he testifies about me is true.

Ihr schicktet zu Johannes, und er zeugete von der Wahrheit.

Vosotros enviasteis á Juan, y él dió testimonio á la verdad.

Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.

You have sent to John, and he has testified to the truth.

Ich aber nehme nicht Zeugnis von Menschen, sondern solches sage ich, auf daß ihr selig werdet.

Empero yo no tomo el testimonio de hombre; mas digo esto, para que vosotros seáis salvos.

But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved.

But the testimony which I receive is not from man. However, I say these things that you may be saved.

Er war ein brennend und scheinend Licht; ihr aber wolltet eine kleine Weile frohlich sein von seinem Licht.

El era antorcha que ardía y alumbraba: y vosotros quisisteis recrearos por un poco á su luz.

He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.

He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light.

Ich aber habe ein grower Zeugnis denn des Johannes Zeugnis; denn die Werke, die mir der Vater gegeben hat, daß ich sie vollende, dieselbigen Werke, die ich tue, zeugen von mir, daß mich der Vater gesandt habe.

Mas yo tengo mayor testimonio que el de Juan: porque las obras que el Padre me dió que cumpliese, las mismas obras que yo hago, dan testimonio de mí, que el Padre me haya enviado.

But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.

But the testimony which I have is greater than that of John; for the works which the Father gave me to accomplish, the very works that I do, testify about me, that the Father has sent me.

Und der Vater, der mich gesandt hat, derselbige hat von mir gezeuget. Ihr habt nie weder seine Stimme gehoret noch seine Gestalt gesehen.

Y el que me envió, el Padre, él ha dado testimonio de mí. Ni nunca habéis oído su voz, ni habéis visto su parecer.

And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

The Father himself, who sent me, has testified about me. You have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form.

Und sein Wort habt ihr nicht in euch wohnend; denn ihr glaubet dem nicht, den er gesandt hat.

Ni tenéis su palabra permanente en vosotros; porque al que él envió, á éste vosotros no creéis.

And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.

You don’t have his word living in you, because you don’t believe him whom he sent.

Suchet in der Schrift; denn ihr meinet, ihr habt das ewige Leben darinnen; und sie ist's, die von mir zeuget.

Escudriñad las Escrituras, porque á vosotros os parece que en ellas tenéis la vida eterna; y ellas son las que dan testimonio de mí.

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

“You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me.

Und ihrwollt nicht zu mir kommen, daß ihr das Leben haben mochtet.

Y no queréis venir á mí, para que tengáis vida.

And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

Yet you will not come to me, that you may have life.

Ich nehme nicht Ehre von Menschen.

Gloria de los hombres no recibo.

I receive not honour from men.

I don’t receive glory from men.

Aber ich kenne euch, daß ihr nicht Gottes Liebe in euch habt.

Mas yo os conozco, que no tenéis amor de Dios en vosotros.

But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.

But I know you, that you don’t have God’s love in yourselves.

Ich bin kommen in meines Vaters Namen, und ihr nehmet mich nicht an. So ein anderer wird in seinem eigenen Namen kommen, den werdet ihr annehmen.

Yo he venido en nombre de mi Padre, y no me recibís: si otro viniere en su propio nombre, á aquél recibiréis.

I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

I have come in my Father’s name, and you don’t receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.

Wie konnet ihr glauben, die ihr Ehre voneinander nehmet? Und die Ehre, die von Gott ailein ist, suchet ihr nicht.

¿Cómo podéis vosotros creer, pues tomáis la gloria los unos de los otros, y no buscáis la gloria que de sólo Dios viene?

How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?

How can you believe, who receive glory from one another, and you don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God?

Ihr sollt nicht meinen, daß ich euch vor dem Vater verklagen werde. Es ist einer, der euch verklaget, der Mose, auf welchen ihr hoffet.

No penséis que yo os tengo de acusar delante del Padre; hay quien os acusa, Moisés, en quien vosotros esperáis.

Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.

“Don’t think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you, even Moses, on whom you have set your hope.

Wenn ihr Mose glaubtet, so glaubtet ihr auch mir; denn er hat von mir geschrieben.

Porque si vosotros creyeseis á Moisés, creeríais á mí; porque de mí escribió él.

For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.

For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote about me.

So ihr aber seinen Schriften nicht glaubet, wie werdet ihr meinen Worten glauben?

Y si á sus escritos no creéis, ¿cómo creeréis á mis palabras?

But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

But if you don’t believe his writings, how will you believe my words?”
